💖First-Time Waxing FAQ – Everything you need to know before your first Brazilian wax at SkinPH.

by Lina Clémence June 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I’ve never been waxed before — what should I expect?

Totally normal to feel a little nervous. At SkinPH, we specialize in making first timers feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Your esthetician will walk you through every step and make the process quick and efficient. Most clients say they’re surprised how easy it is — and how smooth they feel afterward!

Why Choose Waxing?

Waxing isn’t just a one-time thing — it’s a game-changer for your skin.

Here’s what makes it worth it:

Longer-Lasting Smoothness: Waxing removes hair from the root, so you stay smoother for weeks — no daily shaving.

  • Less Irritation Over Time: Say goodbye to razor burn, bumps, and ingrowns.
  • Finer Regrowth: With consistent waxing, hair grows back softer, finer, and less frequently.
  • Exfoliating Bonus: Waxing also removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin smoother and more radiant.
  • Confidence Boost: There’s nothing like that post-wax glow — especially when it’s done by someone who truly cares.

At SkinPH, we’re not just removing hair — we’re helping you feel confident in your own skin, every single visit.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Here’s how to get wax-ready:

  • Let it grow: Hair should be at least ¼ inch long — about the size of a grain of rice. That usually means no shaving for 2–3 weeks.
  • Exfoliate (gently): Light exfoliation 24–48 hours before your wax helps remove dead skin and prevent ingrowns.
  • Skip lotions & oils: Clean, dry skin helps the wax grip better. Avoid moisturizers the day of your wax.
  • Avoid caffeine & alcohol: These can make your skin more sensitive — best to skip them a few hours before.

Worried about pain? You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever (like ibuprofen) 30 minutes before your appointment.

Does waxing hurt?

Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. The first wax is typically the most sensitive since the hair is coarser, but it absolutely gets easier with time. Our technique is designed to reduce discomfort, and we use hard film wax that’s gentle on sensitive skin.

Can I get waxed during my period?

Yes, you can. Just keep in mind that your skin may feel a little more sensitive. If you’re booking a bikini or Brazilian wax, please wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup.

What should I avoid after my wax?

To keep your skin happy:

  • No tight clothes or touching: Let the area breathe to avoid irritation.
  • Avoid heat: Skip tanning, hot tubs, saunas, or intense workouts for 24–48 hours.
  • Hold off on exfoliating: Wait 2–3 days, then exfoliate 2–3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Hydrate: Use a fragrance-free moisturizer to soothe and soften the skin.

No shaving between waxes: Stick to waxing every 4–6 weeks for best results.

What if I get bumps or redness?

Totally normal! Minor irritation can happen after your first wax. It usually fades within a few hours. You can apply a cold compress or aloe gel for relief.

Bonus Tips from SkinPH:

  • Wear loose, breathable clothing to your appointment
  • Schedule around your cycle if you’re more sensitive before your period
  • Don’t stress — we specialize in first-time clients!

Your Comfort is Our Priority

At SkinPH, we combine expertise, kindness, and technique to make waxing a positive experience. If you have any questions before your appointment, we’re just a message away.

New in: Yogi Tea Turmeric Chai #GoldenMoments

by Lina Clémence June 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

**This post is sponsored by Yogi Tea**

At this time of year we are all a little bit frazzled from the lead up to the holiday season and our immune system needs a warming boost. It is also the perfect time to reflect on the year, all the good things and what we are looking forward to for the year ahead.
For this reason I am very excited to share with you the latest product from Yogi Tea, a brand whose holistic approach fuses ancient Ayurvedic wisdom and a strong connection with Yoga to create flavoursome organic tea blends. If you are looking for a brand who are mindful of ingredients and sustainability, Yogi Tea is for you.

Turmeric chai is the latest product to hit the extensive range and will be available in stores January, so you are getting an exclusive preview. Turmeric has a characteristic golden yellow colour and is recognised as a useful addition to your diet due to its many health properties. Turmeric is well known to be anti-inflammatory and is perfect for tackling the stresses and strains of modern living.

Turmeric is a root in the same family as ginger, the root is dried and ground to a powder which can then be added to food. Turmeric chai is a fantastic way to enjoy the benefits turmeric in an easy and tasty way.

YOGITEA® Turmeric Chai is beautifully fragrant with a smooth taste. Turmeric is blended with cinnamon and ginger in this tea and the cinnamon gives a nice underlying sweetness. The spices are very subtle and gentle, it also has a creaminess to it which is very pleasant.

How to prepare your Golden Milk:

There are two ways to prepare golden milk with Turmeric chai. The first way is to steep the tea bag in hot water for around five minutes and then add your choice of milk and sweetener to taste. The second way is to bring your choice of milk to the boil and brew the Turmeric Chai tea bag for around five minutes.

Every Yogi Tea blend comes with its own individual yoga pose on the box, The Yoga pose for Turmeric Chai helps to strengthen digestion, which is especially useful at this time of year. I really like these little details, it really makes you think about your wellbeing in different ways.

The gorgeous golden colour of Turmeric Chai has inspired Yogi Tea to focus on the golden hour. Golden hour:

“Sunlight turns magical during the period shortly after sunrise and before sunset”

Golden hour is the perfect time to reflect on some of the wonderful moments from 2017. It has been such a busy year, full of exciting moments and change and I wanted to share some of my golden moments with you.

My golden moments of 2017 #GoldenMoments

Judging the OK Beauty awards – I was thrilled to be asked to be one of the judges of the Beauty Awards with OK this year alongside celebrated names in the industry such as Lee Stafford. It was fantastic to be involved with the awards and the standard of entries was really high. Also great to see Natural and Organic beauty get its own category, it feels like the industry took naturals a lot more seriously this year than ever before.

Reaching a million page views – I have never been one to focus too much on stats and figures when it comes to this blog, but reaching over a million page views earlier this year felt like an important milestone for my little corner of the internet. I remember vividly being very pleased to reach a thousand, so I could never have dreamed that I would one day have achieved this.

Babies first words – Baby Green has become this year a walking, talking, very funny little person. Although having a young child has its challenges, it also has so many rewards as they start to learn new skills almost daily. She is incredibly chatty and has gone from using single words to putting words together to form sentences, which is so lovely to see as she is not yet two. Every time I hear her little voice call my name, my heart melts. Being a Mum is perhaps by happiest and most challenging achievement.

What I am looking forward to – Looking towards my 2018 #GoldenMoments. Next year is shaping up to be another busy and fun packed year. I have some exciting projects coming up that I can’t wait to share with you, including talking all things natural beauty, of course. I also am currently enrolled with Formula Botanica, the online cosmetic science school, which means I will be experimenting with formulating my own products which is very exciting. Most of all I am exciting to be learning and taking this blog that step further in the New Year, I truly appreciate being able to nurture this space.

Let me know what your #GoldenMoments of 2017 have been. What achievements have you been proud of? Share them on social media using the hashtag #GoldenMoments and tag Yogi Tea so we can see them. You can find the brand on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Mom Loves Makeup: Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisture

by Lina Clémence June 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I’ve spent the majority of my summer avoiding makeup. It’s been too hot, too humid and I just haven’t felt inspired to wear makeup that will quite literally melt off of my face. In the absence of makeup, skincare has become my best friend. I’ve always been into skincare, but I’ve never become obsessed with it. Until now. When I’m not out and about with the kids, I’m researching new ways to better my skin. In my quest to find the latest and greatest, I stumbled upon premium skincare brand Yehwadam.

The people at The Faceshop were kind enough to gift me the brand new Yehwadam sub-line; Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisture. This new line is formulated for those with combination to oily skin and promises intense moisture without a sticky, heavy or greasy feel. Although my skin type is typically dehydrated and dry, the summer has my skin all f’d up. I’m currently somewhere between normal/dehydrated/combo. The joy!

“Yehwadam is an anti-aging skincare line that brings traditional Korean herbs, ginseng and flowers into modern anti-aging. Yehwadam products are made with natural Korean ingredients processed by traditional methods passed down from one generation to another.”

Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisture Fluid ($40, 150 ml) is a water based product that combines toner and lotion into a single step. It’s formulated with Fresh Water Flower which contains 5 types of traditional herbal ingredients including Korean Ginsing, Safflower and Goji Berries.

I’m all about simplifying my routine, so I’m happy that this product can eliminate a step for me. I apply it after my serum and I find it absorbs very quickly – within a minute or so. It has a light scent and a non-sticky texture. What I like most about this lotion is that it feels very hydrating but without any sort of residual greasiness, heaviness or stickiness. My skin feels quenched and what I can only assume one would call ‘normal’. I really feel like this is the perfect summer moisturizer for me. I’m not so sure it will cut it come fall, but for now it works amazingly well. If you have combo or oily skin, you will love this! Oh, and it comes with a pump and the bottle is huge. The value of this product is great – you get much more product, for less money than most.

Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturizing Cream ($55, 50 ml) is a lightweight gel-cream that claims to hydrate the skin without leaving it sticky. It’s formulated with oriental herbal ingredients grown in Korea. Peony, Lotus, Safflower, Chrysanthemum, Honeysuckle, Ginsing and Goji Berry to name a few!

Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturizing Cream is light but more substantial than their Moisture Fluid. It applies like a gel but feels hydrating like a cream. I found it to absorb a lot slower and not entirely. I can still feel it on my face hours after applying it and it does feel slightly tacky for the first little while. I don’t love it for summer days, unless I’ve been in the pool and my skin is parched, then it’s great! I’m putting this one on the back burner for now, hoping to revisit it once the temperature starts to drop.

Yehwadam Revitalizing Moisturizing Sleeping Pack ($35, 100 ml) restores moisture to skin overnight leaving it looking refreshed the next morning. It contains the same ingredients as the other two products in this range; Peony, Lotus, Safflower, Chrysanthemum, Honeysuckle, Ginsing and Goji Berry.

I really, really like this sleeping pack. I think I may even like this as much as Shiseido’s Ibuki Sleeping Mask. It goes on slightly sticky (like virtually all sleeping masks/packs) but unlike a lot of others, that feeling goes away fast. It feels crazy hydrating, I don’t stick to my pillow and I wake up looking amazing. Can’t beat the price either, it’s a total win-win!

This was my first venture into Yehwadam and I’m very happy so far. Two out of the three products I would purchase with my own money (Revitalizing Moisture Fluid & Revitalizing Moisturizing Sleeping Pack) and I’m certainly interested in trying more from the brand. If you’ve used any products from Yehwadam, I would love to hear your thoughts on them!
Till next time beauties ✌

Dear Me, The World is Better With You In It :)

by Lina Clémence June 12, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Apa kabar kalian di bulan kedua tahun 2023?

Saya? Masih jobless (saya belum cerita ya? Emang malas cerita, dan nggak kepengin ditanya-tanya) seperti kemarin 🙂

BACA JUGA: MARI BERANDAI-ANDAI KITA BISA JOBBYMOON~

Tapi santai sih nggak ya, masih tetap sibuk.

…

Nah, kali ini saya mau cerita sedikit. Beberapa waktu lalu saya menemukan kesenangan baru lo. Tepatnya kesenangan lama yang bersemi kembali. Hayo, tebak apa?

Yep, menggambar! Melukis, menggambar, lettering, doodling, sketching...

Intinya, saya lagi nggak kepengin sosialisasi sama siapa-siapa sekarang.

Kalau saya mau ngobrol sama kamu, itu artinya kamu cukup nyaman buat saya. Bukan salah orang-orang sih, ya cuma saya lagi rapuh, hatinya gampang retak 😀 😀

Soalnya jujur saja, belakangan saya makin merasa useless.

Meski kata-katanya misuh, proses lettering-nya bikin saya tenang.
You do you pokoknya.

Suka baca fiksi, baca aja sampai keblinger. Suka nulis, tuliskan semua sampai lega. Suka menggambar, gambar aja sampai tangan pegal.

Semangattttt!

xoxo,
Raisa

Design Company Culture for Success

by Lina Clémence June 12, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

What is Company Culture?

At the heart of any great organization lies its company culture. But what does this frequently mentioned term truly mean? To define company culture, consider it the unique ethos of an organization, encapsulating its values, beliefs, and the norms that guide employee interactions. The invisible thread binds leaders and employees, shaping relationships and influencing behaviors. An established culture provides a consistent environment where expectations are clear, morale is high, and business goals align seamlessly with personal growth.

Why should we care about company culture? Consider it the lifeblood of an organization. A robust culture attracts top talent, promotes engagement, and boosts overall performance. In environments where culture is prioritized, employees feel valued, appreciated, and committed to the company’s vision. This cohesion acts as the bedrock upon which stellar teams are built and guided toward success, providing a competitive edge in business ecosystems where differentiation is pivotal.

The Building Blocks of Company Culture

Creating an exemplary company culture does not happen overnight; it requires mastering several key elements. Leadership style sets the tone; strong leaders foster trust and empowerment. Within such a culture, leaders serve as role models, driving employees’ conduct and attitudes by example. Communication methods reinforce the culture by ensuring all team members are on the same wavelength, promoting transparency and accountability. Effective interpersonal communication mitigates misunderstandings and builds a cohesive history of shared achievements and values.

Additionally, the actual workspace plays a significant role in embodying cultural values. Open, collaborative spaces encourage innovation, while flexible policies enhance satisfaction and productivity. When aligned with the company’s ethos, the physical environment facilitates energy and inspiration, acting as an incubator for creativity and motivation. Companies that nurture multi-functional spaces can cater to varying work styles, thus enhancing individual and collective output.

Why Company Culture Matters

Company culture isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a proven economic and motivational engine. For instance, organizations with well-defined cultures are 1.5 times more likely to achieve consistent growth and 20% less likely to experience high turnover rates. The real magic of culture lies in its ability to unite individuals under a common purpose, thereby galvanizing them toward achieving shared goals. A palpable sense of belonging and shared identity translates to higher motivation levels, turning personal achievements into collective triumphs.

Furthermore, a positive culture significantly impacts customer satisfaction. Employees who are passionate about their work and their organization’s values are better equipped to deliver exceptional service, thereby enhancing customer experience and loyalty. In today’s economy, where customer retention is just as important as acquisition, a thriving company culture is an essential differentiator that propels business success.

How to Cultivate a Thriving Company Culture

  1. Define Core Values: Identify, articulate, and integrate core values into every organizational facet. These values reflect the company’s mission and long-term vision. They act as guiding principles, ensuring that day-to-day actions are aligned with overarching goals.
  2. Communicate Clearly: Clear communication channels are vital. Regular updates, open forums, and team meetings help align everyone with the company’s objectives and ethos. This proactive and open dialogue promotes understanding, reduces ambiguities, and fosters a united workforce working towards common objectives.
  3. Nurture Leadership: Empower leaders to champion the company’s cultural values. Their behavior and decisions should embody the desired culture, setting a precedent for others. Through their commitment and actions, senior leaders can inspire a culture of high standards and accountability.
  4. Encourage Feedback: Cultivating a feedback-rich environment allows employees at all levels to voice their opinions, fostering a sense of involvement and belonging. It encourages a dynamic and adaptable culture, ready to evolve based on lived experiences and input from its people.

Real-Life Examples of Successful Cultures

Many trailblazing companies serve as excellent case studies in effective company culture. Tech giant Google has cultivated a culture centered on agility, creativity, and employee well-being. They have created an environment that promotes innovation by offering amenities and benefits that enhance work-life balance. Meanwhile, Zappos is amazed by its focus on customer service and unbeatable work atmosphere that prioritizes employee satisfaction. Their dedication to culture has resulted in low turnover rates and increased customer satisfaction. The Forbes article elaborates on how companies like these leverage distinctive cultural traits to maintain high levels of engagement and performance.

Potential Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them

Building a great culture isn’t without its pitfalls. Micromanagement and lack of transparency can derail even the best-intentioned efforts. Micromanagement can stifle creativity, leading to disengagement and eroding trust. Avoid becoming too rigid in approach; instead, foster a culture of trust and empower employees, granting them the freedom to innovate and excel. Transparency is crucial; when employees are included in decision-making processes, they’re more likely to feel valued and part of a collective purpose rather than just gears in a machine.

Measuring the Success of Your Company Culture

To gauge the effectiveness of a company culture, one must rely on more than intuition. Employee feedback mechanisms—surveys, interviews, and focus groups—provide valuable insights. These metrics, like employee engagement levels and turnover rates, offer a comprehensive picture of cultural impact. Significant data gathering and examination allow organizations to pinpoint strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities, guaranteeing that cultural elements align with business goals and employee contentment.

The Last Word on Company Culture

Cultivating a successful company culture is an evolving, dynamic process. It’s not just about embedding core values but also about adapting to new challenges and continuously nurturing team spirit. In today’s competitive business landscape, a dynamic company culture is an asset and a necessity. By emphasizing the fundamentals and upholding transparency and trust, organizations can foster a culture that benefits members and excels in a competitive environment. Tailoring initiatives to match the evolving needs of the workforce ensures that the culture remains vibrant, relevant, and a driving force toward success.

21 On-Point Diamond Face Shape Hairstyles for Women

by Lina Clémence June 12, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

The diamond-shaped face has very pronounced and memorable facial features. Therefore, choosing the right haircut and styling for a diamond face shape is not so easy and rather responsible. To facilitate this process and reduce the time of choice we have selected twenty-one best hairstyles for diamond faces. You can find hairstyle ideas with different styling options, lengths, colors, and structures.

Recognizing a Diamond Face Shape

The diamond face shape has more angular features than an oval shape. Bright features of a diamond face shape are: high cheekbones, a narrow and pointed chin, and also a narrow jawline, and the hairline tends to come to a more angular point. In this case, your face is longer than it is wide.

Why Certain Hairstyles Compliment a Diamond Face

Different lengths, structures, and styling of hair differently play with any face shape and diamond shape is not an exception. As a rule, long wavy or straight hair softens the angular features of the diamond shape of the face. Short and flattering, structured haircuts emphasize the cheekbones and jaw. The styling of bangs helps to hide the flick of a small or large forehead.

Hairstyles for a Diamond-Shaped Face

If you follow this guide with hairstyles for diamond shape faces and pick a couple of options to your liking, you’ll spare yourself from the burden of trying to balance out the face where the cheekbones stand out, and the chin is too narrow. We’ve done everything for you: just explore the gallery and save your top picks:

Updo With Side-Swept Bangs

@hairupbydevonne

How to highlight the facial features as much as possible? Gather the hair and open the face, leaving a small detail in the form of side-swept bangs, as in the photo. Side-swept bangs don’t only finish the look but also visually elongate a narrow forehead. You can make a smaller bun and then this hairstyle for a diamond-shaped face will be more casual. Or, for a formal event, make the same voluminous bun and complement it with hair accessories.

Chin length Bob

Chin length Bob

@firriolo_andrea

Blunt bob cuts suit not only a diamond face shape but also an oval face shape. Even though the paradigm of “long hair – femininity” is going away becoming a relic of the past, girls still more often choose to have long hair. So, short hairstyles are definitely about emphasizing a personal style. And to add more playfulness to the look, make soft curls like in the photo. The length of your bob will always be at the level of your chin, you need to go for a trim at least once a month, but the procedure doesn’t take much time. Also, you’d better avoid a middle parting and shift it at least a bit to the side.

Layered Medium Length Cut with Blunt Bangs

Layered Medium Length Cut with Blunt Bangs

@mary.luxhairandbeauty

The layered haircut is versatile and suits almost all face shapes. The diamond-shaped face is no exception. And let’s be honest. What could be better than face-framing layers to draw attention to your beautiful features? To create such voluminous ends of hair, you need to use a hair dryer and a brush, the diameter of which is suitable for your hair length. Don’t be scared, it’s not difficult at all, watch a few tutorials and with each attempt, everything will come out easier and faster, even with long layers.

Wavy Locks Balayage

Wavy Locks Balayage

@hairby_jodiex

Loose waves and balayage are among the best hairstyles for diamond face shapes. Oh my god, that’s such a good match. Reflecting the sun’s rays, this hairstyle will be perfect for a warm summer day. But don’t be in a hurry to re-colour and straighten your wavy hair when autumn comes. This hairstyle for a diamond-shaped face will also be a ray of light in the gloomy days of fall. The moment when it is not necessary to cut layers to emphasize the features of the face, in this case, this role is played by the face-framing highlights.

Cropped Pixie Cut

Cropped Pixie Cut

@jannat.mehmood_

How to draw attention to what an unusual style you have? Make a pixie cut, of course. It is bold, feminine, daring and easy-going. The pixie cut will show all the angular features of the diamond-shaped face, emphasizing the pointed chin and the gorgeous cheekbones. This haircut is as easy as possible to style but requires regular visits to the hairdresser to maintain the length. An overgrown pixie looks very sloppy.

Cascading Curls

Cascading Curls

@linzdelauderhair

At first glance, this is a straightforward hairstyle, but it will brighten up your overall appearance. You can have natural curls or create wavy hair with styling, it is not so important. The main accent of this haircut is the cascade at the face, the long layers of which make this hairstyle for a diamond-shape face so voluminous, light, and bright at the same time.

Long, Soft Curls

Long, Soft Curls

@thelittlegypsysalon

A perfect hairstyle for any occasion. A day at the office, a meeting with friends, a date, or a family party. This hairstyle for a diamond face shape is suitable for every event. If you have thick straight hair, which is more difficult to curl, use a flat iron and hair-fixing products. Try to make curls about the same width. And if you are the winner gifted with natural curls, try the “curly method” for more resistant twists.

Soft Side-swept bangs

Soft Side-swept bangs

@otakucrystal

Soft side swept bangs are a great way to slightly elongate a narrow forehead. We can compare this haircut for diamond-shaped faces to a play in the theatre, where the side swept bangs play the main role and the textured layers are secondary, but not less important. And all this cast is created to frame your beautiful diamond-shaped face.

Side-Parted Lob With Face-Framing Bangs

Side-Parted Lob With Face-Framing Bangs

@savi_textures

This hairstyle for a diamond-shaped face looks simple at first glance, but the side bangs and deep side parting will make you stand out from the crowd. The face-framing bangs look like a flattering frame and seem to highlight the prominent features of your diamond face shape. Sometimes, bangs swept like this can get in the way when doing a routine, but that’s no reason not to get this haircut. Keep a few hair clips nearby in case you need to remove them off the face for a while.

Volumized Curly Lob With Bangs

Volumized Curly Lob With Bangs

@hair_georgedivision

Bold, stylish and unusual – that’s all about hairstyles for diamond-shaped faces like this. It’s the ultimate fashion statement in your look. A great way to stylize natural curls – a mixture of shoulder-length hair and curly bangs. But be careful such blunt bangs are more suitable for those with a broad forehead.

Chin-Length Bob with Wispy Bangs

Chin-Length Bob with Wispy Bangs

@yumemidreams

You will agree that blunt bob cuts are very cute. And a bob with wispy bangs is twice as cute. Such a hairstyle is more suitable for girls with diamond-shaped faces but with a type of baby face. Here, short hair frames the narrow jawline, and bangs play for a narrow forehead.

Long and Curly With Side Part

Long and Curly With Side Part

@oliviascanu

Curly, long hair is such a rare and perfect beauty. Of course, in such a case you need special hair care and more time for styling. But curly girls, we swear, you have won the genetic lottery. And if you have wavy and porous hair, try the “curl method” (there is a lot of information about this on the Internet). You may have the same beautiful curls as a variation of the best hairstyles for diamond faces.

Wavy Shag With Fringe

Wavy Shag With Fringe

@wavysoulhair

Shag haircut belongs to flattering haircuts and is suitable for both diamond-shaped face and oval face shape. A soft fringe is an essential part of the sheg haircut and it gives the image a finished look. You can try this haircut without hair coloring or experiment with color, as shown in the picture.

Long and Tousled With Middle Part

Long and Tousled With Middle Part

@tousledhair

Long twists with a middle part are probably the most popular hairstyle. And this hairstyle will soon become the record holder in terms of long-term relevance. It hasn’t lost popularity since the early 2000s, amazingly.

Short Shag with Fringe

Short Shag with Fringe

@jessi_cosmicrevival

If you have a fine hair texture and a narrow hairline, a short shag haircut is ideal for the sharp features of the diamond face. Short textured layers create extra volume, and the short hair length is easy and quick to style. The only thing is that such a haircut for a diamond face shape requires regular trimming.

Long Bob with Deep Side Parting

Long Bob with Deep Side Parting

@longbobcorte

Short hairstyles are perfect for those who have thick straight hair because with this hair structure, the shape of the short haircut will last all day. The deep side part gives this image more mystery, and the strands for the most part brightly emphasize the diamond face shape features, especially high cheekbones.

Trendy Bixie Cut

Trendy Bixie Cut

@katjacatwork

The bixie haircut is something new and not yet very well known to the general audience, but it’s already becoming a trend. We can also call it a pixie bob. It looks like a mixture of these two great haircuts, doesn’t it? It’s the result of a successful experiment and it was worth it. Just look at how well it emphasizes all the angular features of the diamond-shaped face, especially the prominent cheekbones and narrow chin.

French Bob with Long Bangs

French Bob with Long Bangs

@katjacatwork

Megan Fox style – bold and sexy. For this haircut, it is better to have a narrower forehead, but by experimenting with the length and density of bangs you can make such a variant of short haircut and for a wide forehead. Keep it in mind that the neat appearance of bangs and the length of the bob should be constantly trimmed at the hair master. You should also consult with your mother about the bangs. Such bangs will not suit all the diamond face shapes, maybe they will choose a slightly different option for you.

Messy Hairstyle for Diamond Faces

Messy Hairstyle for Diamond Faces

@bashirova_hairstyle

Look at those gorgeous cheekbones and how cool a messy haircut accentuates them. Messy wavy hair, long layers and a side parting, well very hot. A messy haircut for long hair is the ultimate in naturalistic fun. This hairstyle is the most universal and will fit exactly not only diamond-shaped face. It is also suitable for girls with any width of the forehead and chin.

A Slicked-Back Chin-Length Bob

A Slicked-Back Chin-Length Bob

@gabrielasussman

Another way to style a bob. This option is not often seen in everyday life, but for a special event, it is perfect. Imagine how beautiful your diamond-shaped face will look with this hairstyle. You can fix it with hair-fixing products or use small hair clips in the back.

Styling tips for diamond face shapes

Emphasize your eyes. Draw attention to your beautiful eyes by using different makeup techniques. This helps to shift the focus upwards and balance out the wide-set cheekbones.

Smooth-out angles: add loose curls or waves to your hairstyle to add femininity and gentleness to your look. A side parting or hairstyle with asymmetry or a slicked-back look can balance the appearance of the cheekbones and create a more balanced frame for the diamond face shapes.

Layers that frame the face: layers around the prominent cheekbones can add volume and create a more balanced look. Face-framing layers smooth corners and draw attention to the centre of the face, highlighting the total beauty of diamond-shaped faces.

FAQs

  • What hairstyles to avoid with a diamond face shape?

Although diamond-shaped faces are suitable for many hairstyles, there are still some hairstyles that you should avoid. But that doesn’t mean that the haircuts listed below won’t work for a diamond-shaped face. You can also choose them, but it’s best to consult your hair stylist before you do. So: 1) Blunt bob hairstyles are often unsuitable for a diamond-shaped face. A blunt bob with straight, jaw-length strands can draw attention to the angle of the lower jaw and the width of the cheekbones, giving the face a square, soft look; 2) Center parted hair. The flaws of a diamond-shaped face, such as the width of the cheekbones and a sharp chin, can be emphasized with a centre-parted haircut, which will make the whole face more angular. 3) Long or straight bangs that extend to the eyebrows may not suit a diamond-shaped face. Full bangs can visually expand the forehead and at the same time emphasize the narrow chin line.

  • Are diamond-shaped faces attractive?

Yes, a diamond-shaped face is recognized as an attractive face shape. Celebrities like Megan Fox, Christy Turlington, Rihanna and Angelina Jolie are perfect examples of this face shape. And they’re all insanely beautiful, aren’t they? This unique facial structure gives people with a diamond shape face a sophisticated, exotic or even royal look. People with diamond faces are really rarely left without attention to their beauty, and a suitable haircut only emphasizes it.

  • Is layered hair good for a diamond face?

Facial framing layers starting at the chin look great on diamond-shaped faces. The reason for this is that layers soften a strong chin and jawline. Layers will also add movement and volume to the hair, giving an overall softer look. Also, layers give ordinary hairstyles a more interesting and unusual style. When you go to a hair stylist ask them to match you with the thickness and length of layers that will suit you. And don’t hesitate to ask for some tips on styling your new hairstyle at home.

Bottom Line

Maybe, choosing a haircut for a diamond-shaped face is not such a simple process. But the variety of options of hairstyles for diamond face, presented above, will not leave you indifferent. Be bold, don’t be afraid to experiment with the length or color of your hair, or stick to what you’re confident in – it doesn’t matter. You can show this guide to your hair stylist and they will help you choose the best haircut for a diamond-shaped face for you. And remember, you have a beautiful diamond face and you are gorgeous with any haircut, any hair color, any hair length, and any styling. Amen!

Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring review: Timeless elegance

by Lina Clémence June 12, 2025

Last Updated on May 26, 2025 by Eve Dawes

Is Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring worth it? A deep dive into Van Cleef & Arpels iconic design

The Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring and Magic Alhambra between the finger ring like all of the Alhambra collection are more than just a piece of jewelry, they’re a timeless symbol of elegance and good luck. The Alhambra collection was first Introduced back in 1968 and the quatrefoil design draws inspiration from the four-leaf clover to embody luck and harmony. Good luck is a common theme throughout Van Cleef’s designs from their Lucky Spring to their Lucky Animal collection. The Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring is crafted with meticulous attention to detail as you’d expect from this luxury jewelry brand. As soon as you put on their rings, you can’t fail to notice the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship and quality. Whether adorned with mother-of-pearl, onyx, or diamonds, the Alhambra ring’s versatile design makes it suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions but is it worth the price?

Celebrity fans

Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra collection is the brand’s most popular collection. Its enduring appeal and iconic status in the world of fine jewelry has made it super popular with influencers and celebrities. You see everyone wearing the bracelets, earrings and necklaces but very few wearing the ring and that’s what appeals to me. I don’t want to wear the same as everyone else.

The only celebrities I found wearing them was Julia Roberts wearing the Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring and Jess Weixler wearing the Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra ring.

Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring review

I rented this vintage Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring in 18 karat gold and Onyx for a wedding. As well as to add to my Van Cleef & Arpel Alhambra jewelry review. The pretty and minimalist design is inspired by the clover leaf, to be an icon of luck.

Van Cleef & Arpels ring review | A close look

It’s made of 18K yellow gold and was more solid and weighty than I was expecting. It features the classic border of golden beads that’s on all of the Vintage Alhambra collection pieces. As well as a tiny single diamond (diamond quality DEF, IF to VVS) and I mean 0.05 carat tiny! If you’re considering buying something from the Alhambra collection this is definitely worth looking at. It’s also less overdone than the bracelets for example.

It comes in lots more colors than just black but black onyx or diamonds are such versatile classics you can wear with pretty much anything. The only downside is how hard it is to keep clean as you can see from the photo.

Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra between the finger ring

I love this ring as it’s such a statement piece. I think it’s worth paying a bit more for than the regular Alhambra ring to have something more unique. For something truly special, the Butterfly Between the Finger Ring or Magic Alhambra Between the FingerRring that’s rhodium plated 18K white gold with 58 round diamonds totaling 1.59 carats wins hands down for me.

Created in 2006 by Van Cleef & Arpels, the Magic Alhambra® jewelry creations gather different-sized Alhambra motifs, coming together in a joyful dance. Inspired by the clover leaf, their asymmetric designs feature different associations of materials. Van Cleef & Arpels

Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring prices

The Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra ring price ranges from $3750 + tax for the black onyx up to $13,300 for the diamond Alhambra ring new in store. I rented it from Join Switch (use code DawesEve22J for $50 credit) who lists it’s retail value is $4600. I’m not sure where they get their prices from. As they’re normally selling a used piece to you at a ‘member price’ that’s more expensive than buying it in a store brand new. I love the site for renting but for buying, definitely always price check first!

The Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra between the finger ring costs from $7300-$20,600.

Van Cleef Alhambra ring sizes

Both ring styles come in sizes 42-62. If in doubt size up not down. As you can always use a ring sizer like I do, especially on cold days when your fingers shrink. Whereas if it’s too small it could end up way too tight on hot days or when flying.

Is it worth it?

The Van Cleef Alhambra collection is iconic and instantly recognizable, even if it has come under fire recently on TikTok. If you can afford it, it’s what I’d consider a timeless and worthy investment for those looking for a blend of tradition and sophistication.

I like it but don’t know if I’d splurge on it. You’re paying for the brand more than anything else. For now, I’m going to keep renting versus buying to see how much use I get out of it before committing to it. Although Van Cleef, if you’re looking for a new ambassador, I’m here for it!

I can’t link to the Van Cleef & Arpels website in the carousel but I’ve linked to lots of preloved AKA second hand options, some of which are in giftable condition. One way to authenticate is to check inside the band for the VCA stamp.

Besides the Alhambra rings, I’ve also linked the Lotus, Frivole and Two Butterfly Between the Finger Ring in case you prefer those. You could also try renting first, use code DawesEve22J for $50 site credit. It’s a great way to get an idea of sizing, how it looks on, and to see how much you’d wear it.
