Why Bridal Makeup is important?

Planning a wedding can be a time taking task but you can never ignore the minor details for your wedding event. No matter what it takes, you should not neglect the importance of bridal makeup. Bridal makeup is what really matters on the wedding day because it differentiates you among so many people, the bridal makeup and the bridal dress.

Imagine entering the wedding hall, what do you think the guests will look at first? Obviously it’s your face. Now think for a while you are not wearing a bridal makeup, or you just haven’t applied a little makeup, how will you look? Makeup is what makes the first impression. That’s why it is important to wear a perfect bridal makeup if you want your wedding day to be perfect.

The Right Look

What is ‘the right look’ when it comes to wedding makeup? How much makeup do you need? Which makeup shades should you use? Well nobody can describe it in words because every bride is unique and every makeup does not suit on every bride. Leave this to the beauty salon expert’s and let them decide what will suit on you.

Hiring a Bridal Makeup Artist

A bridal makeup artist knows all the factors that need to be considered before giving you bridal makeup looks. So it is always recommended to hire bridal makeup artist for your wedding event. With a makeup artist, you can feel relax as you believe your makeup is being done by the right person. Remember that bridal makeup is not like a regular makeup. It requires proper training and experience and it is only possible when you hire a bridal makeup professional.

[REVIEW] COSRX Two in One Poreless Power Liquid

by Lina Clémence August 3, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hi!

So I was pretty excited with some of the new releases from COSRX so I actually purchased this products right after my purchase of the second tube of the PHA cream. So it’s about two months now I guess? When it first releases, this essence sold out like everywhere until I found it on sale on Jolse so I put it into my cart right away 😀

Anyhow, let’s start with the review, shall we?

Full List of Ingredients

Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol,
Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Water, Pentylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol,
Betaine Salicylate, Arginine, Betaine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil,
Allantoin, Panthenol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer,
Cassia Obtusifolia Seed Extract, Menthyl Lactate, Mentha Haplocalix
Extract **Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water & Cassia Obtusifolia Seed
Extract contain tannin

Notable ingredients: BHA, Tannin and Menthyl Lactate.

Minimal packaging design as usual from COSRX.

Just like a lot of COSRX products, this also came in this pump tube.

 Pretty runny right?

I would say that this has the essence texture, which is easily absorb into the skin. I uses this as the second step in my skincare routine because it is quite runny and would absorb better in fresh skin more than on top of other skincares.

It does feel cool once I applied the essence on and I did like it because it cools down the temperature of my skin thus making it less oilier. The tannin and BHA is surely a plus point of this product although I had
to cut off a lot of BHA skincare to give way to this so that I don’t
over exfoliate.

I read from Sokoglam that this essence can be used after blackhead extraction or to calm any redness. Although I don’t really do blackhead extraction because I barely got any (from a good skincare of course!) so I expected it to calm my redness that usually got after face wash.

So far, I don’t really see a major difference like I’m not really sure what it actually does to my skin in these two months because my skin were quite behaving because I don’t see much redness nor acne coming out that often but I do like the fact it feels cool on the skin and feels like it “tightens” my pores in the morning before I put on my makeup.

But I do think that it contributes to my “behaving” skin as I see less whiteheads and blackheads were pretty much nonexistent.

Overall, this is pretty nice! It doesn’t break me out or sting my skin and it absorbs pretty well too without much effort. The thing that I like the most if cooling effect it has from the menthyl lactate, although it disappear after a while.

 Thank you for reading!

xoxo

Scenic road trips that deserve to be on your bucket list

by Lina Clémence August 2, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

We don’t always take road trips to escape. Sometimes, we take them to feel more present, to discover hidden gems, and to make unforgettable memories. As writer Angela N. Blount once said, “Sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn’t mean to take.”

In rural Philippines, where every curve in the road may reveal a mountain, a scenic cliff, or a coastline, road trips are more than a way to travel; they’re a chance to reconnect with nature, with friends, or even with yourself.  This is the kind of thrill that only a road trip can offer — an adventure that will stay with you for a long time.

And with PLDT Home’s One Mega Giveaway (OMG) promo, your next adventure could come with a brand-new Toyota Fortuner, ₱1 million in cash, or free fiber internet for life.

Before we tell you how, let’s talk about where to go. Here are four road trips from Manila that are scenic, soul-stirring, and full of moments that you’ll never forget.

1. SCTEX and Halsema Highway: Baguio and beyond

Also known as the Baguio-Bontoc Road or Mountain Trail, the Halsema Highway climbs steadily from the lowlands of La Trinidad, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of urban life. Once dubbed the “death highway,” Halsema is now a stunning route through the Cordillera mountains.

The journey begins on the outskirts of Baguio City. As your Toyota Fortuner navigates the winding ascent, you’ll see the landscape transforming: terraced mountainsides sculpted by indigenous hands over centuries cascade down. During planting season, these terraces mirror the sky in pools of water; during harvest, they turn golden in celebration of abundance.

Stop at Atok, Benguet’s Highest Point marker. On clear days, Mt. Pulag, the country’s third-highest peak, looms in the distance, its summit often haloed with a sea of clouds that locals call the “playground of the gods.”

The true magic of the Halsema Highway isn’t just in its breathtaking vistas, but in the intimate glimpses of mountain life it offers. Indigenous Igorot communities continue their ways alongside the modern road, women in traditional garb carry baskets of produce on their heads.

By the time you reach Sagada or Bontoc, you’ve traversed not just a highway but a living museum of Philippine highland culture, where the past and present coexist in balance.

SCTEX Highway Central Luzon

2. SCTEX to Clark: A short but satisfying drive

You can also make a quick escape to Central Luzon’s rich culture with a trip to Clark, Pampanga.. Take Skyway 3, then North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), continue on to SCTEX, and exit at Clark North for a smooth two-hour drive depending on traffic.

After exploring golf courses, high-end integrated resorts, and shopping malls in Clark, indulge in Pampanga’s cultural and natural attractions, including famous Kapampangan restaurants — artist and chef Claude Tayag’s Bale Dutung, which now has a walk-in restaurant in addition to the private dining, reservations-only section. Then check out where Claude took Anthony Bourdain to introduce him to Kapampangan cuisine: Aling Lucing (for sisig) and ARlyns Carinderia (for papaitan).

3. The Tanay-Infanta Road: The Sierra Madre’s secret pass

Some of the most rewarding journeys are those less traveled, and the road from Tanay, Rizal, to Infanta, Quezon, remains one of Luzon’s best-kept secrets. This route cuts through the heart of the Sierra Madre mountain range, the longest in the Philippines– offering a breathtaking transition from the outskirts of Metro Manila to the wild Pacific coast.

The adventure begins in the rolling hills of Tanay, where weekend motorcyclists gather at viewpoints overlooking the Laguna de Bay. As you continue, Manila’s sprawl disappears behind you, replaced by increasingly dense forests, and the air grows noticeably cooler and fresher.

Indigenous Dumagat communities, who have called these mountains home for centuries, maintain small settlements along the route where traditional crafts and mountain foods can sometimes be purchased from roadside stands.

The true drama of this journey comes at Bantakay Falls and the series of hairpin turns known locally as “Magnetic Hill.” As you descend toward Infanta, Quezon, the view gives way to coconut plantations, and eventually, the vast Pacific Ocean.

Mayon Volcano

4. Pan-Philippine Highway: Bicolandia’s coastal escape

A road trip through the Bicol region offers more than just the perfect view of Mayon Volcano—it’s a slow-burning adventure that builds with every kilometer. In Legazpi City, the iconic cone-shaped volcano looms dramatically in the backdrop. If you want to go further, follow the Pan-Philippine Highway south through lush coconut plantations and sleepy fishing towns toward the province of Sorsogon.

The drive itself is a visual feast: rice paddies that stretch endlessly on one side, while glimpses of the Pacific Ocean peek out from winding coastal roads. Stop by Bacon District for panoramic sea cliffs, then detour to the quaint town of Donsol, where you can swim with whale sharks (butanding) during peak season. Cap off your journey in Matnog, where pink sand beaches and crystal-clear waters await.

It’s a soul-soothing escape deep into the heart of southern Luzon, where every stop is a reminder that sometimes, the best trips are the ones less hyped.

Drive a Toyota Fortuner on your next road trip

What if upgrading your internet could also upgrade your travel bucket list — and your entire life? PLDT Home One Mega Giveaway (OMG) Promo is back in its second year. New subscribers of PLDT Home Fiber automatically get a chance to win OMG-worthy prizes that go way beyond fast internet.

You can’t help but say OMG! to these prizes: one brand new 2025 Toyota Fortuner, ₱1 million in cash, and free fiber broadband For Life. There will also be 10 winners of ₱100,000 in cash, and 10 free fiber broadband for one year. Winners will be drawn in August.

Review: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop | Memorable Days : Beauty Blog

by Lina Clémence August 1, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I have been using the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop for a long time. You can purchase it now at Dot Dot Skin. This is a low-irritant vitamin C serum that contains 5% vitamin C (L-Ascorbic acid) inside. It is created with stabilised pure Vitamin C to treat dead skin cells, dull skin tone and enlarged pores. This will help to lighten hyper-pigmentation, lighten dark marks from acne and to brighten your skin. It is free of alcohol and is fully vegan. I have been using this for many months.

PACKAGING
It comes in a very simple clean packaging but with a useful pump. I normally store this in the fridge so it doesn’t oxidise that quick. It should be white when you just open the serum.

INGREDIENTS
Water, Propylen Glycol, Ascorbic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Centella Asiatica Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Illicium Verum(Anise) Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi(Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Polysorbate 60, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Camellia Sinensis Callus Culture Extract, Larix Europaea Wood Extract, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Rheum Palmatum Root Extract, Asarum Sieboldi Root Extract, Quercus Mongolia Leaf Extract, Persicaria Hydropiper Extract, Corydalis Turtschaninovii Root Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Magnolia Obovata Bark Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Lecithin, Acetyl Glutamine, SH-Olgopeptide-1, SH-Olgopeptide-2, SH-Polypeptide-1, SH-Polypeptide-9, SH-Polypeptide-11, Bacillus/Soybean/Folic Acid Ferment Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol.

TEXTURE
It has a light formula, it is not sticky, it sinks in fast. It can sting a little bit if you have never tried vitamin C before, for me it was alright. It stung at the beginning, but if you use it every single day, your skin will get used to it. It doesn’t really have a scent to it, there is no fragrance inside.

klairs freshly juiced vitamin c drop

MY OPNION
This Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop does help fading dark marks from acne. It is slightly visible after using it for 6 months, but you should not expect results after 1-2 months. This can take at least half year to a year until you see a bit of results, keep on using it every single day.

You can purchase it at www.dotdotskin.com and it’s sold for €29.95 there.

Bath and Body Works Into the Night Body Lotion Review

by Lina Clémence July 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Bath and Body Works Into the Night Body Lotion Review: Imagine stepping into a moonlit garden, where the air is filled with the intoxicating aroma of blooming flowers, ripe berries, and a hint of mystery. Bath and Body Works’ Into the Night Body Lotion promises to transport you to this enchanting world with just one application. This isn’t just a body lotion; it’s a sensory journey that combines deep hydration with a captivating fragrance. Whether you’re a fragrance enthusiast or someone looking for a luxurious skincare treat, this product has something to offer. But does it live up to the hype? In this detailed review, we’ll explore everything you need to know about Into the Night Body Lotion, from its scent profile to its performance on different skin types. Let’s dive in!

About

According to the official Bath and Body Works website, Into the Night Body Lotion is part of the brand’s iconic fragrance collection. It’s described as a “bold, seductive blend of dark berries, midnight jasmine, and rich amber.” The lotion is designed to provide 24-hour hydration while leaving your skin enveloped in a luxurious, long-lasting scent. It’s perfect for those who want to indulge in a little self-care while making a lasting impression.

The formula is enriched with shea butter, vitamin E, and aloe vera, which work together to nourish and soften the skin. It’s also free from parabens and sulfates, making it a safer choice for those with sensitive skin. The lotion is lightweight, non-greasy, and absorbs quickly, making it ideal for daily use.

How to Use

Using Into the Night Body Lotion is simple and straightforward. Here’s how to get the most out of this product:

  1. Apply to Clean Skin: For best results, use the lotion after a shower or bath when your skin is still slightly damp. This helps lock in moisture.
  2. Massage Gently: Take a generous amount of lotion and massage it into your skin using circular motions. Focus on areas that tend to get dry, like elbows, knees, and heels.
  3. Layer for Intensity: If you want to amplify the fragrance, pair the lotion with other products from the Into the Night collection, such as the body mist or shower gel.
  4. Reapply as Needed: While the lotion provides long-lasting hydration, you can reapply throughout the day to refresh the scent and keep your skin soft.

Price

Into the Night Body Lotion is priced at:

  • USD: $16.50 (8 fl oz / 236 ml)
  • Euros: Approximately €15.50 (varies by region)
  • AED: Approximately 60 AED
  • INR: Approximately ₹1,350

The price may vary depending on promotions, discounts, or regional availability. Bath and Body Works often runs sales, so keep an eye out for deals!

My Experience

Packaging and First Impressions

The Into the Night Body Lotion comes in a sleek, dark bottle with a gold cap, exuding elegance and sophistication. The packaging is not only visually appealing but also functional. The flip top dispenser makes it easy to control the amount of product you use, minimizing waste. The bottle is sturdy and travel-friendly, though I wish it came in a smaller size for on-the-go touch-ups.

Fragrance: A Symphony of Notes

The scent is where this lotion truly shines. It’s a complex, multi-layered fragrance that evolves over time. Upon application, you’re greeted with the juicy sweetness of dark berries, which is both refreshing and indulgent. As the lotion settles, the floral heart of midnight jasmine emerges, adding a touch of elegance and depth. Finally, the base notes of rich amber and warm musk (my fav duo!) create a sensual, lingering aroma that’s perfect for evening wear.

The fragrance is bold but not overpowering, making it suitable for both casual and formal occasions. However, I did notice that the scent tends to fade after 2-3 hours, which is a bit disappointing for a product marketed as long-lasting.

Texture and Application

The lotion has a creamy, velvety texture that feels luxurious on the skin. It spreads easily and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. My skin felt instantly hydrated and soft, with a subtle sheen that looked healthy and radiant.

Performance on Skin

I have normal to dry skin, and this lotion provided enough hydration to keep my skin feeling smooth and supple throughout the day. The shea butter and vitamin E in the formula work wonders for dry patches, especially on my elbows and knees. However, if you have extremely dry skin, you might need to layer it with a heavier moisturizer during colder months.

Results and Longevity

While the hydration lasts all day, the fragrance doesn’t. As mentioned earlier, the scent fades after a few hours, which is a common complaint among reviewers. Some users have suggested layering it with the matching body mist to extend the longevity, but I wish the lotion itself had more staying power.

Ingredients Breakdown

The key ingredients in Into the Night Body Lotion include:

  • Shea Butter: Known for its moisturizing and healing properties, it helps restore the skin’s natural barrier.
  • Vitamin E: A powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental damage and keeps it soft.
  • Aloe Vera: Soothes and hydrates the skin, making it ideal for sensitive skin types.

These ingredients are thoughtfully chosen to provide both skincare benefits and a luxurious sensory experience.

Bath and Body Works Into the Night Body Lotion Review mbf

Pros

Based on reviews from Bath and Body Works, Fragrantica, Amazon, and other platforms, here are the standout pros of Into the Night Body Lotion:

  1. Luxurious Fragrance: The bold, seductive scent is a crowd-pleaser.
  2. Deep Hydration: Keeps skin soft and smooth for 24 hours.
  3. Non-Greasy Formula: Absorbs quickly without leaving a residue.
  4. Elegant Packaging: Looks and feels premium.
  5. Versatile Use: Suitable for all skin types and occasions.
  6. Free from Harmful Chemicals: Paraben- and sulfate-free.

Cons

While the lotion has many positives, there are a few downsides to consider:

  1. Short-Lasting Scent: The fragrance fades after 2-3 hours.
  2. Pricey for the Size: Some users feel the product is overpriced for the quantity.
  3. Not for Extremely Dry Skin: May require additional moisturizer for very dry skin types.
  4. Limited Availability: Not always in stock due to high demand.

Advises

Here are some tips to make the most of Into the Night Body Lotion:

  1. Layer the Fragrance: Use the matching body mist or perfume to enhance the scent’s longevity.
  2. Apply to Damp Skin: This helps lock in moisture and maximize hydration.
  3. Use Sparingly: A little goes a long way, so start with a small amount and add more if needed.
  4. Store Properly: Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place to preserve the fragrance and texture.

Rating

After considering all aspects, I would give Into the Night Body Lotion a 4 out of 5 stars. While the fragrance and hydration are exceptional, the short-lasting scent and price point prevent it from being a perfect score.

Final Thoughts

Bath and Body Works’ Into the Night Body Lotion is a luxurious treat for your skin and senses. Its rich, seductive fragrance and deeply hydrating formula make it a standout product in the brand’s lineup. While it may not be perfect, it’s certainly worth trying if you’re looking for a little indulgence in your daily routine. So, why not step Into the Night and let your skin experience the magic?

InstaNatural Niacinamide Serum (Review) | MADOKEKI makeup reviews, tutorials, and beauty

by Lina Clémence July 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

My encounter with Niacinamide happened by chance. My cousin was telling me about wanting to try a Vitamin B3 serum, I got curious and read the research and journals to see what’s good about it.

Turns out it seems to be really suitable for me as it calms inflammation, redness, and promotes skin barrier function – pretty much what I think I need as I notice my skin being thinner and more sensitive over the years. It turns red very easily from temperature fluctuation, get tiny little bumps that itch if it is irritated, and what I dislike the most – gets blotchy and rashy.

The serum my cousin got is extremely expensive in my books, about USD35 for 10ml (at 13% concentration). I did some searching on iHerb not having much hopes, but I found something within my price range!!

The InstaNatural Niacinamide Serum goes for USD14.03 for 60ml. It has a concentration of 5%, which is the recommended level for therapeutic effects to take place without causing too much irritation to the skin. Considering my skin is already more vulnerable, I thought a lower concentration works well for me, as 13% is an overkill, and might even cause more harm than good on my skin.

They do have a warning on the side of the bottle that if it causes any irritation, you should stop using it. But did that stop me? Hell no! In fact, the first few days I used it, it stung my face a little bit. That is when I realize it’s still too strong for my face – or my face is too fragile for it. Solution? I mixed in 1-2 drops into my facial cream, mix well and applied onto my face. No more issues after that.

There’s also suggested directions on the bottle. The gist is to apply it onto clean skin so maximum absorption. The serum actually absorbs pretty damn quickly so you don’t have to wait forever before applying your moisturizer. Or you could do it like me, mix it with the moisturizer! Genius! BUT doing that will definitely lower the concentration of the Vitamin B3, so probably don’t do it if you can tolerate the 5% concentration, and want results fast.

The serum itself is whitish in colour. Spreads and absorbs quickly. Yada yada. Nothing special about it’s texture, however I’d like to highlight it has a soft lavender scent which I really enjoy. It’s very soft and nothing offensive or long lasting.

Apologies as I do not have before and after photos. I can only tell you over the 2-3 months I’ve been using it, I noticed a slow but slight improvement in my face. It’s less blotchy, less rashy, and less red in general. The good days are longer and bad days relatively shorter. I still have a long way to go though!

I can’t be sure if it’s just because of this B3 serum alone, or the combined effects of using the Avene Skin Recovery Cream, but I like it enough to repurchase it because I believe in it. USD14 for 60ml is a very reasonable price and I’d like to keep it in my routine until I find something better.

Definitely gonna be a repurchase item.

Sleep Secret for replenishing nights

by Lina Clémence July 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Do you know a peaceful night’s sleep is as important as a healthy diet and regular exercise? In fact, do you know that poor sleep can have a negative impact on workout performance, brain function, and hormones?

In simpler words, a night of peaceful sleep is all you need to enjoy better brain functionality and a healthier lifestyle. In addition, good sleep helps boost memory and mood and has a positive impact on the metabolic and immune systems. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that sleep quantity and quality have deteriorated over the past few years, which is why we are trying to help here with some secrets!

Stop Tossing & Turning

It’s common to toss and turn a bit before sleeping, but if you have done it for more than twenty minutes and there are no signs of sleeping, it’s time to get up. This is because constant tossing and turning can produce more stress in the body, resulting in hindrance in the sleep cycle. That being said, get up from the bed and read a book because reading relaxes the mind, and you will have better chances of feeling sleepy.

Comfortable Bedding

Do you know that your bedding can help regulate the temperature in the bedroom? It’s important because the bedroom temperature plays a substantial part in optimizing sleep quality. We suggest that you ditch polyester bedding and opt for bedding made from natural fiber, such as cotton with a high thread count or pure silk. In addition, the bedding must be washed once a week because slipping into fresh and clean sheets will be the most blissful feeling!

Get Some Massage

If you have ever gone in for a massage, you would know how sleepy one can feel. This is because massage forces the body to relax and pulls the muscles to smoothen and relax them. In addition, massage can improve blood circulation, which signals the brain to relax. So, it’s recommended that you opt for a massage regularly to reduce your stress levels, and you will eventually sleep better! The good thing is that we know exactly where you can book those massages.

Sleep Secrets Hong Kong

Remove The Light Source

It’s evident that you have a designated sleeping area, so make sure there is no light in the sleeping area. This is because light signals to the brain that the body needs to be awake, which is why your sleeping area should be as dark as possible. Start by investing in room darkening curtains and turn around the alarm clock. Not to forget, you must keep your smartphone, laptop, and TV out of the bedroom because the lights from these devices can cause sleep disturbance. Last but not least, get yourself a cute eye mask!

On the other hand, if you cannot sleep in the dark (everyone has their caveats), it’s recommended that you opt for amber light or low-wattage light – just avoid sharp lights. Keep in mind that a proper environment is essential to have a restorative sleeping experience, so just create a sleeping environment that helps you relax.

Create A Bedtime Routine

It’s important to create a bedtime routine that’s healthy and balanced (yes, create a nighttime routine as you would for infants). For instance, you should spend the last hour before going to bed doing something relaxing – it will help you fall asleep and stay asleep. For instance, you could have a warm cup of hot chocolate or chamomile tea if you want something soothing. In addition, invest in a diffuser and add a few drops of lavender essential oil as it can help you unwind.

Regular Sleep Schedule

Having a regular sleep schedule can help you improve the quality of sleep. So, start going to bed at the same time every day and put on the alarm to wake up on time. A regular sleep schedule will help maintain the circadian rhythm, which is the natural clock of the body, as it helps microorganisms run on the 24-hour cycle. However, if you cannot go to bed at the same time every day, try waking up at the same time (forget about snoozing). Also, most importantly, try to follow this schedule on weekends.

Reduce late naps & late caffeine intake

Sure, you can enjoy a warm cup of coffee right after waking up but bid farewell to naps and caffeine in the latter part of the day. It’s common for people to enjoy an espresso shot to sustain themselves during the day, especially when the workload gets too heavy. However, afternoon coffee can keep you up for hours and hinders the sleep cycle.

So, rather than filling yourself up with coffee, start taking power naps (they are only 20-minute naps, so don’t even think about sleeping more than this!). Still, you shouldn’t take a nap five hours before sleeping time because it can mess up the nighttime sleep.

Work Out

Another thing you can try is to work out. This is because a regular workout can improve the mood and reduce stress to achieve a better sleep quality. Some people struggle to sleep after an evening of workout, so just shift to a morning workout or opt for a light workout!

Warm Bath

According to different studies, a shower or bath before going to bed can improve the quality of sleep. A warm bath can help you sleep quickly and helps achieve deeper sleep. However, you can also opt for a cold shower but don’t forget to add some magnesium flakes or Epsom salts as they reduce stress, or you can simply opt for lavender or other soothing bath bombs!

Cut Out The Noise

Sure, you can sleep in noisy surroundings, but it can adversely impact the quality of sleep. For this reason, you must block out or limit the noises that are disrupting your sleep. You can opt for some earplugs to block out the noise or shift to a sound machine that makes relaxing sounds, such as crashing waves and babbling brook.

Bottom line, sleeping right is essential to enjoy a better mood and a healthy life – in fact, it helps keep the weight in check. So, try out these secret tips to sleep better, and don’t forget to add cherry juice, chamomile tea, and almonds to your diet because they’re proven to reduce insomnia and improve the quality of sleep.

Checking Out Nordic Natural Beauty Awards 2022 Nominees — Laura Loukola

by Lina Clémence July 28, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

This year there are over 80(!) Nordic beauty products competing! Eighty!

All participating brands must be based in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, or/and Norway) while the products must be made from 100% natural ingredients in the main categories, 99% natural products are allowed in the contest with specific limitations. You know, the Nordic countries are not actually that big (at least population-wise), so I find it very impressive how many interesting, unique and special natural/eco brands we have. I think I’m pretty well-versed with most local brands, but thanks to the Awards I’ve discovered several new interesting indie brands (I love me some good indie beauty products made with love)

The winners will be selected by a special Nordic Beauty Jury 2022 that consists of 50 Nordic stars from different fields, such as cinema, sports, music, and fashion. While it’s lovely to try and test out new products, a selection of +80 beauty items is a lot! They’ve had a nice challenge, I’m sure!

Some of the competing categories are…

Facial Cleansing

Hydration (toners, moisturizers, facial oils)

Deep Hydration (serums, eye care, etc).

Body Care

Hair Removal

Olive Week July 2025: 25.07-31.07.2025. How to save the most while shopping at Olive Young

by Lina Clémence July 27, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

It’s this time of the month! Olive Young is one of the most popular Korean drugstores, and it also has a global online version. Each month, this shop hosts an event for its members, offering discounts on OY orders. Olive Week has started on July 25th, and today I’d like to share some recommendations and what I’ve received this month.

What’s Olive Young?

Olive Young is a South Korean retail chain focused on Health and Beauty. It has stores all over SK and, a few years ago, opened a global website. Olive Young has self-developed brands like Bioheal BOH or Bring Green, but you can buy from other Korean brands (and non-Korean brands if you’re visiting SK stores).
The first Olive Young store in Korea was opened in 1999. It is part of the CJ Group, a conglomerate with interests in various industries, including food, entertainment, and retail. Olive Young has over 1200 stores all around Korea. In 2012, Olive Young launched the skincare brand Shingmulnara. In 2013, the first Olive Young overseas store was opened in Shanghai. The same year, Olive Young introduced a new brand – Bioheal BOH. In 2015, the company added two other brands to its portfolio – WAKEMAKE and Round A’Round. The stores are designed to create a vibrant shopping experience, and they often incorporate modern aesthetics.

Olive Week? What’s that, and why should you shop at Olive Young during this event

I’ve made a huge post on Olive Young last year, a few things have changed, but you still might want to check this post. Olive Week happens each month, but we never know when it will happen. Each time you get a coupon – it makes your shopping more affordable. Each month, we also get some benefits.

Read more about: Olive Young & Olive Week

The first benefit for July is 30% off coupon that works sitewide. It’s an exclusive for all members, but it works on orders above $139, and the maximum discount you can get is $50. So if you plan to spend more, this coupon is going to be more affordable, and you should claim the coupon on the Olive Young website.
Source: Olive Young
The second benefit is coupons that work on a single item. I usually choose coupons since I don’t spend a lot – in the EU, we have to pay additional tax when we shop outside the EU, and sadly, Olive Young has no deal with shipping companies like some other K-beauty stores. Baby Olives get -40% off coupon (max discount is $10). Pink and Green Olive accounts get -50% off (max discount $13). Black Olive users get -60% off (max discount is $15), and Gold Olive users get -70% off coupon (max discount $18). You have to claim these coupons on the Olive Young website.
Source: Olive Young
If you have a Gold Olive membership, then Olive Young helps you save an additional $15, but you have to shop first and then sign up for the reward back event. After the event ends, you will get $15 in the form of points, which you can later use. I recommend saving these points and waiting for the next Olive Week. I recommend reading more details on this event on Olive Young’s website.

Want to save more? Use affiliate codes

If you want to save even more, use affiliate codes when placing the order. It’s not a lot, but I don’t know how about you, if I can save even a few cents, I’m going to use it. Feel free to use my affiliate code BETWEEND0 to save on your order.

What did I get during July Olive Week?

I was waiting for the entire month for this event, and usually when the event is back, I’m not sure what I want to get. I ordered only three items this time, because I’m trying not to go crazy with the amount of stuff I buy.
ARZTIN Regenerative Schild Cream

ARZTIN Regenerative Schild Cream

I’m still surprised why this cream didn’t get popular. I wrote a post about it 6 years ago, and when I found out that Arztin is available at Olive Young, I was waiting to order it. The last two times I wanted to get a tube, it was always sold out, but this month I was able to get it. What’s so good about it? It has EGF. This cream worked like magic on my skin. I might review it once again just to show you the results.
Right now, ARZTIN Regenerative Schild Cream costs $26.45/50g at Olive Young*.

Dr.G Hyper Glow 30% Ampoule Peeling 2-Step Program (Ampoule Peeling 15ml + Soothing Pads 13g*4ea)

Dr.G Hyper Glow 30% Ampoule Peeling 2-Step Program (Ampoule Peeling 15ml + Soothing Pads 13g*4ea)

Peeling: Water, Glycolic Acid, Gluconolactone, Dipropylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycereth-26 Glycerin, Isopentyldiol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Trehalose, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, C12-14 Alketh-12, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyacetophenone, Panthenol, Allantoin, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Salicylic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Sclerotium Gum, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Malt Extract, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, PVM/MA Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Lecithin, White Willow Bark Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Prunus Mume Fruit Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Hedera Helix (Ivy) Extract, Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Polyglutamic Acid, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Beta-Glucan
Pad: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethanol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polysorbate 20, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Cellulose Gum, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Panthenol, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Beta-Glucan, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Polyglutamic Acid, Asiaticoside, Madecassoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid
This set cost me about $7-8, but if it’s going to work, then I’ll tell you to run and grab it. I’m a bit sceptical about using 30% acids on skin at home, but that makes me even more curious about where the line between home and professional treatments lies. If you plan to buy it, don’t use it before autumn; summer is not a good time for 30% peels.
The current price for Dr.G Hyper Glow 30% Ampoule Peeling 2-Step Program at Olive Young* is $25.79.

Purcell Extreme Effect 4-Terpineol

4-Terpineol

It’s a simple formula, but that’s the product you won’t easily get in Europe. 4-Terpineol is an active ingredient found in tea tree oil. I have other products from this brand and I love them, that’s why I plan to give 4-Terpineol a chance.
Purcell Extreme Effect 4-Terpineol costs $29/10ml at Olive Young*.

AHC is a company that focuses on innovation and research, which is why I keep going back to this brand.

I know that some people use it instead of a moisturizer since it’s a gel-like texture.

How PediaSure Plus with PeptiGro Helps Undernourished Children

Backed by bcience, powered by nutrition—Abbott’s latest study highlights the transformative effects of PediaSure Plus in Early Childhood Development

Good nutrition does more than fill a child’s stomach—it fuels their future. A groundbreaking clinical study by global healthcare company Abbott reveals that PediaSure® Plus, when combined with dietary counseling, significantly boosts the height, muscle development, and overall health of undernourished children.

Conducted over an eight-month period, the SPROUT study (Supporting Pediatric Growth and Health Outcomes) involved 330 children between the ages of 2 and 5 who were either undernourished or at risk. All participants received nutritional counseling, but only one group drank two servings of PediaSure Plus daily. The results were striking. These children showed twice the height gain and 50% more lean mass development—including stronger bones and increased muscle—compared to those who didn’t.

But that’s not all. The children who consumed PediaSure Plus also experienced:

  • 37% fewer sick days
  • 40% higher gains in bone density
  • Increased energy and appetite
  • Improved nutritional intake, particularly vitamin D and K levels crucial for growth and immunity

“Nutrition is a powerful driver of quality growth, not just in terms of height but also strength, immunity, and resilience,” said Dr. Mandy Ow, Senior Clinical Scientist at Abbott Nutrition R&D in Singapore. “This study shows that nutrition supplementation can help undernourished children thrive in the most critical years of their lives.”

Unveiling the Power of PeptiGro

The new formulation used in the study, PediaSure Plus with PeptiGro System, is now available in the Philippines. PeptiGro is a proprietary blend that includes natural Vitamin K2, arginine, and casein phosphopeptides (CPPs). These are nutrients that work together to promote optimal growth and bone health in children.

At the official launch, PediaSure Plus ambassadors Chesca Kramer and Dimples Romana joined medical experts including Dr. Jose Dimaano Jr., Medical Director for Abbott’s Nutrition Business in Asia Pacific, and Dr. Jennifer Olay, a pediatric gastroenterologist and nutrition specialist. Together, they discussed early childhood nutrition, the science behind the PeptiGro System, and how parents can bridge nutritional gaps in their children’s diets.

“Proper nutrition builds the foundation for a healthy life,” said Dr. Olay. “It supports not only physical growth but also immunity and cognitive development—especially in the first five years.”

Committed to Filipino Families

With decades of research and innovation, Abbott continues to champion science-based nutritional solutions that help children grow to their full potential.

“We’re proud to introduce PediaSure Plus with PeptiGro to Filipino families,” said Dr. Jose Dimaano Jr. “It’s more than a nutritional drink—it’s a product built on rigorous science, designed to help children reach milestones that once seemed out of reach.”

PediaSure Plus with PeptiGro System is now available at major supermarkets, drugstores, and leading online retailers including Lazada and Shopee. Parents are encouraged to consult with their pediatrician and learn more about the science behind growth at family.abbott/ph-en/pediasure/home.html.
