My Review of the Space NK Edit Travel Edition

My Review of Space NK Beauty Edits 2025 – Travel Editions
My Review of Space NK Beauty Edits 2025 – Travel Editions

I absolutely love this edit. Apart from the fact that it comes in a choice of colours in the super cute beauty bags, I actually really love so many of the products it contains. Plus it really does offer up brilliant value for money.

I love the DedCool Xtra Milk Eau de Parfum and actually wrote about it earlier in the year. It a gorgeously soft and subtle skin scent with notes of bergamot, white musk and amber, and brilliant for layering with punchier perfumes. Read, DedCool Xtra Milk Eau de Parfum Review for more information.

Sunday Riley Aquamarine Melt Hydrating Cleansing Gel-Balm is their newest launch and I really like it. It has such a lovely texture. I have a full review if you need more details. The full size is pretty bulky, so this travel size will come in really handy.

The Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream is a brilliant moisture booster and great to get your skin summer ready. Read my Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream Review for more info.

I am really excited to try Amika Midnight Mender Overnight Strength Repair Treatment Mask because I’ve heard great things. Summer is the right time to give your hair a bit more TLC, so this is the perfect product to pack for holidays.

The scent of the Ouai Body Cleanser in Melrose Place is really good. The formula is nice and hydrating too. Perfect for summer.

The set contains the cutest pot of the Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream and it such a gorgeous cream to nourish dehydrated skin, and is great for when you don’t want to wear tonnes of makeup. I love it under my REESON Bronzing Balm and nothing else.

I haven’t tried the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Skin Soothing Hydration Mist yet but  I am very excited to. I love the Jet Lag mask

The Patchology Serve Chilled Rosé Eye Gels are great then your eye area needs a bit of extra attention. They are the best prep for makeup as they soothe inflammation and reduce puffiness.

Ole Henriksen Strawberry Gimmer
Ole Henriksen Strawberry Gimmer

You also get the Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment in Strawberry Sorbet Glimmer. I really like this formula (read about it here) and this shade is pretty!

The Space NK Summer Society Creaseless Clips are handy for pinning your hair back when you are doing makeup, and are a cute little extra.

And everything comes in a Space NK Medium Travel Bag in Strawberry, Mint or Lemon. Theses bags are brilliant because you can use them for your airport beauty bits, and the whole top opens up so you can access all the products really easily. I can’t decide which one if my favourite, but I did a poll on Instagram (follow me here) and Mint came out top!

Beatitude Peace Pillow Spray

by Lina Clémence July 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I think most people would agree that the name Peace is perfect for a pillow spray like this one from aromatherapy brand beatitude, after all I think we could all do with an extra dose of peace, especially at this time of year.
The brand is one I have written about several times before, they make gorgeous aromatherapy bath and body, home fragrance and skincare products here in the UK. Peace comes in two different sized bottles and the scent itself lingers, there is nothing worse in my opinion than a fragrance that disappears quickly in a product like a pillow mist. If you are a fan of other pillow mists like This Works, another favourite of mine, I highly you take a look at this one.

The base is a floral water rather than alcohol and it contains a lovely mix of seven essential oils to soothe and calm. I genuinely feel like I sleep better when I use these kinds of products before bed, I think it has as much to do with feeling pampered as it does with the essential oils used, but I am a big believer in the power of aromatherapy as well. If you are looking for gorgeous aromatherapy products I highly recommend beatitude. You can find the pillow mists (starting at £16) here.

Hyaluronic Acid – Why It’s a Must-Have In Your Skincare Routine! – All Things Aesthetic

by Lina Clémence July 12, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hi guys! I hope everyone is safe and well at the moment during such scary times. Luckily, I made it to my grandma’s last week to isolate with her, which means I am with a family member as opposed to being at uni on my own. I don’t know about any of you, but it still all feels a bit surreal, and to be honest, I am pretty scared right now. I know I always say this, but if anyone feels the same way, you can always drop me a message here – sometimes it’s nice to speak to someone you don’t know when you’re stressed. I know how tough lock-down may be for some of you, me included, and to cope with it I am trying to stay positive and think of everything I am grateful for. I can honestly say that I hope never to take anything or anyone for granted again; I miss my friends, I miss my family, but I also appreciate them more than ever. I also want to take a chance to encourage everyone to please please PLEASE comply with the lock-down stipulations. It’s tough, I know, but we need to do everything we can to stop to spread of COVID-19.

Right, enough of the doom and gloom, let’s get on with the blog! I’ve mentioned a few times how I did an interview with Today’s Lifestyle, and they were kind enough to send me some face masks. One of the ones they sent was Filgora’s ‘Hydra-filler Mask’, used to create an ‘intense hydra-plumping effect’.

Not a very aesthetic picture I know, but you’ve gotta work with what you’ve got!

To lighten the mood a bit, you can also have a picture of me 5 minutes after a mini breakdown, using this face mask to try and cure my troubles…

While it hasn’t remedied all my problems, taking time out for a little pamper always helps. Sheet masks are great, not only for their comedic effect, but also because you can use them multiple times. The instructions advise you to leave on for 15 minutes each time, and I plan on doing this two times a week. Having used this twice now, I can confirm it has left my skin feeling fresh and plump. I’ve decided to really dedicate some time (since I have a lot of it right now) to my skincare regime, particularly while I won’t be wearing make-up. You can check out this face mask on Today’s Lifestyle here, using the code TDLS50 for 50% off your first purchase (making it £5)! More importantly, it contains hyaluronic acid, which is GREAT for your skin, and here’s why…

Our skin actually produces hyaluronic acid naturally to boost moisture, but levels are often compromised for a number of reasons, including ageing and skin pollution through environmental aggressors. As such, it is important that we include it in our skincare routines to ensure our skin is hydrated, moisturised, and plumped to perfection, with dermatologists claiming that it retains remarkable amounts of water in our skin. To avoid a dry complexion, as well as hyaluronic face masks, I use a moisturiser and serum, each of which contains the acid:

  • The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% Serum – £5.95 at Beauty Bay
  • Dr Ever Youth Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Moisturiser – available for £7.99 at your local TK Maxx store. This isn’t very helpful though, as we can’t shop, so I’ve attached a link to an alternative by The Ordinary which also contains Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid for £5.20.

I know skincare is probably at the bottom of your list of worries right now, but for me it can be a positive distraction – it may not work for everyone, but I hope it helps some of you. As I’ve already said, please do drop me a message, even if it is non-blog related!

Stay safe everyone. Hopefully I will be back next week for more things aesthetic xxx

Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 885

by Lina Clémence July 11, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. Do you keep backups of your favorite products?

These days, the only backups I buy are things I know I’ll finish on a regular basis (like shampoo and conditioner, or body lotion). I don’t even bother with makeup backups anymore, though. If I finish something like a blush or an eyebrow pencil, great, and if it’s still around when it’s time to restock, that’s even better. If it’s discontinued, I might mourn it a little bit, but there’s always something new coming out, and I don’t mind trying new things, so I don’t stress about it too much.

2. Something that you read/watched/listened to recently that was surprisingly great?

I watched “KPop Demon Hunters” on Netflix with Connor over the weekend, and I was surprised to enjoy it as much as I did. If you liked “Jem and the Holograms” back in the day, I think you’ll enjoy this movie, too.

3. Something beauty-related that you want to try?

The new tinted SPF by Merit seems intriguing!

4. Documentaries or TV shows about serial killers: yes or no?

Nope! Hard pass.

5. Something that you’re relieved to finally have gotten done?

GIRL. I finally did my nails. You don’t even want to know how tragic my pedicure has been for the last three weeks! But now everything is freshly polished and nice, and all is well with the world.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Here are the questions to copy/paste with your answers in a comment. Talk to ya soon.

2. Something that you read/watched/listened to recently that was surprisingly great?
3. Something beauty-related that you want to try?

7 Festive Cocktails to Get You in the Merry Mood this Christmas

by Lina Clémence July 10, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

This is a guest post from The Mixer – your one-stop destination to discover drinkspiration for every occasion. From delicious recipes with expert tips to trendy new serves and ideas, The Mixer encourages connectivity and good times, whether you’re new to hosting or a cocktail pro!

As the nights draw in and our thoughts turn to the holiday season, bring on the festive feels with these delicious Christmas cocktails. These delicious drinks capture all the seasonal flavours and are perfect for getting cosy and merry with your loved ones. Bottoms up!

Christmas Negroni

The Negroni keeps making waves in the cocktail scene (yep, we’re looking at you, House of the Dragon fans), and we predict that the Christmas Negroni will be the next big thing this festive season. To make one, you’ll use the original Negroni recipe but add some festive flair by making your own Christmas-infused gin and using winter spice garnishes.

Ingredients (per person)

  • 1 Oz Campari
  • 1 Oz Christmas-infused gin (recipe below)
  • 1 Oz Cinzano Vermouth Rosso
  • Orange peel to garnish
  • Cinnamon stick, star anise and fresh bay leaf to garnish
  • Ice

Method

1. Pour the Campari, infused gin and vermouth into an ice filled mixing glass

2. Stir until ice cold (about 30 seconds)

3.  Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube or sphere

4. Twist an orange peel over the Negroni to release its oil and add it to the drink

5.  Garnish with cinnamon stick, star anise and a fresh bay leaf

How to make festive gin

To make your infused gin, grab your favourite gin and pour out a drink for yourself and a friend to make some space in the bottle to add the spices. Next, toast 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 star anise pods, 5 cloves, a teaspoon of black peppercorns, and 3 fresh bay leaves in a dry pan until fragrant. Transfer into a pestle and mortar and crush roughly. Add the spices to your ¾ bottle of gin, seal, and give it a good shake. Leave overnight – or for up to 3 days in a dark space – to infuse. Strain into a pitcher using a cheesecloth or coffee filter to remove the spice bits. Pour the gin back into the bottle, and voila!

Jack Frost

Jack Frost is famous in folklore all over the world. In adult land, however, he is a mischievous frozen blue drink that spreads festive cheer. This is one of those fun alcoholic drinks for Christmas that will make your family and friends forget about the freezing temperatures outside while warming them up with a taste of the tropics inside. All you need is vodka or rum, pineapple juice, Blue Curaçao, coconut cream, corn syrup, ice, a decent blender, and your favourite people to share it with.

Ingredients (per person)

  • 1 Oz Vodka or White Rum
  • 1 Oz Blue Curaçao
  • 2 Oz Pineapple juice
  • 1 Oz Cream of coconut
  • Ice
  • Light golden syrup and shredded coconut to rim the glass

Method

  1. Take two plates then pour some light golden syrup onto one, and sprinkle shredded coconut flakes onto the other
  2. Dip the rim of your glass into first the golden syrup and then the coconut and set aside
  3. Add ice to the blender along with vodka or rum, Blue Curaçao, pineapple juice and cream of coconut
  4. Blitz until smooth and frosty
  5. Pour the frozen mixture into your prepared glass, pop in a straw and serve

Eggnog Martini

A hands-down number one hit and family favourite at Christmas is eggnog. But what happens if you skip the rum, add a vanilla vodka and amaretto twist, shake it up and strain it into a glass? The Eggnog Martini, that’s what, and it’s epic! As far as best vodka Christmas cocktails go, this one is packed with sweet and indulgent holiday cheer. You absolutely have to try it.

Ingredients (per person)

  • 1.5 Oz Vanilla Vodka
  • 0.5 Oz Amaretto
  • 2 Oz Eggnog
  • Ice
  • Chocolate shavings, simple syrup, and cinnamon sugar to garnish

Method

  1. Pour a dash of simple syrup onto one plate and cinnamon sugar onto another
  2. Dip the rim of the martini glass into the syrup and then the cinnamon sugar and set aside
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
  4. Add the vodka, amaretto liqueur and eggnog
  5. Give it a good shake until chilled and creamy
  6. Strain into a prepared martini glass, sprinkle over chocolate shavings and serve

Hot Toddy

Sip on a Hot Toddy cocktail for a drink to soothe your soul after a long (long) day of family and Christmas activity chaos. It’s the ideal drink to enjoy slowly for that fireplace feeling. Also, it will be just what you need if you feel yourself morphing into the Grinch about to steal Christmas gifts from sugared-up children. It’s in our book of easy winter cocktails, and you can customise it with your favourite alcohol and flavourings.

Ingredients (per person)

  • 2 Oz Bourbon Whiskey
  • 0.5 Oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Teaspoons brown sugar
  • 5 Cloves
  • Sliced lemon
  • Boiling water

Method

  1. Take a slice of lemon, press the cloves into the lemon round and set aside
  2. Boil water and fill a mug to the three-quarter mark
  3. Pour in the whiskey and lemon juice and stir in the sugar until dissolved
  4. Serve in a warmed mug

Winter Manhattan

Spice up your Christmas-themed cocktails with a Winter Manhattan. To make these, you simply stir up three ingredients: whiskey, sweet vermouth, and apple sours. Like almost any cocktail, there are variations, including the festive Mistletoe Manhattan that calls for cherry juice, sugared cranberries, and rosemary, or a less sour version using bourbon, bitters, and sweet vermouth. We suggest testing a few options and choosing your favourite.

Ingredients (per person)

  • 1.5 Oz Bourbon
  • 0.5 Oz Sour Apple Liqueur
  • 0.5 Oz Sweet Vermouth
  • To garnish a twist of lemon peel (optional)
  • Ice

Method

  1. Pour all ingredients into a mason jar or cocktail shaker and fill with ice
  2. Stir until completely chilled
  3. Strain into chilled cocktail or martini glass
  4. Garnish with a twist of lemon and enjoy

Pomegranate Martini

There are so many different types of Martinis to taste, try and shake up, but the pretty Pomegranate Martini has a special place in our hearts because it’s so extremely photogenic. It’s also a very approachable drink, much closer in taste to a Cosmopolitan than a classic Martini. Sweetly tart, fruity and light, it’s easy to whip up (even in batches), and adds a hint of sophistication to just about any gathering.

Ingredients (per person)

  • 0.5 Oz  Vodka
  • 0.5 Oz  100% pomegranate juice (purchased or fresh squeezed)
  • 0.25 Oz Grand Marnier
  • 0.25 Oz lemon juice
  • 0.25 Oz simple syrup or maple syrup
  • Lemon peel to garnish
  • Ice

Method

  1. Place the vodka, pomegranate juice, triple sec, lemon juice, and syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice
  2. Shake 15 seconds until cold
  3. Strain the drink into a cocktail or martini glass
  4. Use a knife to remove a 1″ wide strip of the lemon peel
  5. Squeeze the lemon peel into the drink to release the oils
  6. Gently run the peel around the edge of the glass, place it in the glass and serve
  7. Garnish alternative: You can also add some pomegranate seeds to the bottom of your cocktail glass for an extra-special serve.

Bourbon Apple Cider

This spiced cocktail is exactly what you need to warm up on a cold night. To get those cheeks glowing, you’ll need bourbon, apple cider, vermouth and bitters. Serve your Bourbon Apple Cider over ice with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprig of thyme. This is a full-flavour cocktail, and the sourness of the lemon balances beautifully with the sweet notes of caramel, vanilla and apple. How do you like them apples? Because, quite frankly, we’re a little obsessed.

Ingredients (for 2 people)

  • 1 Oz of Wild Turkey Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1 Oz of apple cider
  • 1 Oz of Cinzano Vermouth Rosso
  • 1 Oz of lemon juice
  • 1 Oz of orange bitters
  • Apple slices to garnish
  • A sprig of thyme to garnish
  • Ice

Method

1.     Add ice to a large mixing glass or cocktail shaker

2.     Pour in the bourbon, cider, sweet vermouth, lemon juice and bitters

3.     Stir until chilled (about 30 seconds)

4.     Strain into any cocktail glass of your choice

5.     Garnish with a few apple slices and a sprig of thyme

8 Tips for Planning Your Dream Garden

by Lina Clémence July 9, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

My garden is my happy place. There’s nothing I love more than stepping out of my back door with a coffee in hand on a spring morning, wandering barefoot around my garden, noticing the sounds of the birds, any new flowers that have opened, and watching bees and butterflies hard at work. We used Nicholsons Garden Design to help us plan and execute many phases of our garden design here at our home, and whether you’re thinking of hiring a design team to overhaul your garden; you’re going to tackle your whole garden yourself; or you’re simply making tweaks to your existing garden, it’s a good idea to keep these tips in mind to ensure a smooth process that leads to the creation of a beautiful and practical garden that suits you and your family.

1 – List everything you want to be able to do in your garden

When planning your dream garden, the first thing you should think about is what do you actually want from your garden? What do you and your family like to do in the garden? Start with compiling a list of all of the key things, such as I’d like to have… a sunny spot to have my morning coffee, a play area for my children, a BBQ area, a space for a couple of raised beds. Make sure you’re being realistic about the amount of space you have, as you don’t want your garden to feel too cluttered.

2 – Think about the overall style of your garden

Your garden should be an extension of your beautiful home, and to look cohesive the style of your garden should link closely to the style of your home. Be sure to consider this when choosing materials and deciding on your planting style. If you have an über modern home, a modern garden with clean lines, tidy planting and a restrained colour palette may be most appropriate. If you have a beautiful old cottage, perhaps a cottage style garden with a more relaxed planting style, wafty grasses and a looser colour palette would be better suited. When it comes to choosing materials such as your patio, consider the materials you’ve used in your house. If you have a limestone floor in your kitchen which opens directly into the garden, you could use a similar (or even the same) material for your garden patio, to give a more cohesive look.

3 – Create mood boards

When planning out any big project, it’s a good idea to use mood boards so you can visually see how everything will come together. Creating a mood board can be as simple as creating a dedicated Pinterest board full of all of the elements of your garden such as the plants, materials and furniture style you’re going for. Or you could use a software such as Powerpoint or PureRef to bring together images saved from plant websites and garden furniture websites. If you’ve got a larger garden, or one where there will be distinct sections, it might be an idea to create individual mood boards for each section of your garden, such as one for your outdoor kitchen, another for your little woodland area etc., and then you might want to create an overall mood board for the whole garden to ensure that all parts of your garden look cohesive when viewed together. If you have a small city courtyard garden, one mood board should be sufficient.

If you want to take things one step further, try creating a simple spreadsheet that’s divided into each month of the year, where you can list which plants will be in flower or displaying their autumn colours for example. You could also note which colour each plant will be, for example, under June, you might list pink roses, yellow roses, purple lupins, pink & white erigeron etc. This will help you to ensure you’ve got interest throughout each month of the year, and will also help you to work on the colour palette of your garden (which may change through the seasons).

4 – Consider the light

The next thing to consider is how light moves across your garden through the day. If your garden is south facing, much of your garden will be in direct sun all day, whilst if your garden is north facing, perhaps only the far end of the garden will be in the sun, whilst the area close to your house may always be in shade. Actively go and stand in different parts of your garden through the day to work out which areas get sun at which points of the day. This will of course vary between seasons too; the sun is higher in the sky in summer, and so the sun’s rays will reach more of your garden compared to during winter.

When thinking about where everything in your garden should go, consider whether those spots need to be in the sun or not. For example, if you’re into growing veg, you’ll want to put your kitchen garden area in the sunniest spot possible. You’ll want to ensure your morning coffee spot gets the morning sun, while perhaps your BBQ and al fresco dining area should be placed to catch the evening sun.

5 -Plan out the journey through your garden

Once you’ve worked out what you want in your garden, and where various elements need to be, you need to consider your journey through the garden. You don’t always have to create the most direct path to each destination in your garden. You could create a curved or meandering path, to allow yourself to pass little points of interest along the way. For example, on the way to your kitchen garden area, you could pass a section of fragrant roses, or you could walk underneath an arbour covered with clematis and honeysuckle. Consider how to make each journey through your garden more exciting, by using planting or a structure such as a water feature to add a moment of interest.

6 – Consider what you’ll see from your house

Once you’ve got a rough idea of the layout of your garden, consider what view you’ll be looking out upon from your windows and from your front & back door. Perhaps you could place a beautiful ornamental tree such as a multi-stem Amelanchier in such a spot so that it’s framed perfectly when looking out of your bedroom window? Perhaps you could place a gorgeous herbaceous border right outside your back door so you can see it from the doorway, and from your kitchen windows?

The view you look out on is particularly important if you’ve invested in big glass doors in your kitchen or living space – be sure to consider what the view will be from those doors, and how it will change through the year.

7 – Draw out a detailed garden plan

Make sure to draw out a detailed plan of your garden, informed by all of the above tips. Be sure to add in where water taps need to go, as well as electrical cables for garden lighting, and lighting inside your shed if desired. If possible, print out a few copies of an outline of your garden that is roughly to scale, and then you can play around with drawing out a few options for your design before you settle on the perfect design.

8 – Tackle the garden bit by bit

Whether you’ve got a garden design team creating your dream garden, or you’re doing it yourself, it’s a good idea to break down your garden renovation into smaller projects, and tackle them one or two at a time rather than trying to do little bits here and there across your whole garden. This is especially important if you plan to do all of the work yourself or if you’re working with a tighter budget.

Carefully plan the order that you’re going to carry out each mini-project. Perhaps you could start with something that will make a big impact, such as a herbaceous border (or selection of planters) outside your front door, which will instantly brighten the look of your house and will be seen by everyone who walks past. Or, perhaps summer is coming up and a really practical project to tackle first would be your BBQ area so that you can host parties throughout the summer.

Another thing to consider when planning what to tackle when is the time of year, as certain projects are best completed when it’s warm and dry, and certain plants like to be planted at certain times of year. For example, the best time to plant a herbaceous border is spring, while bare root fruit trees are best planted between November and March when they’re dormant.

This summer, elevate your fashion game by investing in luxurious pieces that will leave a lasting impression.

Whether you’re heading to a beach resort or exploring the city, these must-have fashion items are on trend for 2023 and are sure to make you stand out from the crowd.

Tote Bag

You can’t go wrong with a statement bag in your wardrobe for Summer and a Chloe bag is the perfect choice for 2023. The Woody Tote Bag is a beautiful linen bag with the Chloe jacquard logo subtly on the front. It’s a versatile bag that you can either carry by the handles or over the shoulder.

Pair with any outfit, whether you’re dressed up or dressed down. You can wear it to work, to brunch with friends, or even to the beach. It’s the perfect summer accessory that will elevate your style game.

Linen Clothing

Linen clothing is a Summer staple that never goes out of style. This breathable fabric is perfect for hot weather, as it allows air to flow freely and keeps you cool. Add a touch of linen to your wardrobe, from shorts and trousers to dresses and blouses.

You can’t go wrong with a classic linen button-down shirt or a flowy linen maxi dress. Not only is linen comfortable and practical, but it also has a timeless elegance that will make you look effortlessly chic.

Crochet Top

Crochet is a hot trend for summer 2023, and the crochet top is a must-have piece for your wardrobe. Whether you opt for a classic white or a bold colour, a crochet top is the perfect way to add a boho chic vibe to your outfit. Pair a crochet top with high-waisted shorts or a maxi skirt for a free-spirited look.

Oversized Sunglasses

Oversized sunglasses come in a variety of shapes and colours, from round and square to face flattering cat-eye, which makes it easy to choose a style that best suits your face shape.

They are a good statement piece that will take your Summer outfit to the next level. Whether you’re running errands or lounging by the pool, oversized sunglasses will make you look and feel like a celebrity. Plus, great for no make-up days!

Midi Skirt

The midi skirt is a versatile piece that can be dressed up for a night out or dressed down for a casual day at the beach. This season, a blue denim midi skirt is the fashion item to be seen in. Choose one such as from Marant Etoile with a slit at the front, and pair with a T-shirt and sandals for day or heels and a crop top for the evening.

Espadrilles

Espadrilles are the ideal summer shoe, as they combine comfort and style. Go for a coveted Dior printed flat or a slightly more platform Espadrille from Gianvito Rossi. They are easy to wear during the day or in the evening for a stylish but comfortable look.

Studio London Dew Dream Glow Filter Review

by Lina Clémence July 7, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Studio London is one of those relatively low key brands, but the more I see, the more I like it. Much as I love a bit of luxury make up, I’m also very happy when I find affordable products doing exactly the same thing as products five times the price. Studio London Dew Dream Glow Filter is one of those products. If you don’t like dewy or glowy skin, look away now because this product will give you both, and very nicely too.

I’m wearing it full beam – no mixing with foundation or moisturiser, both of which you can easily do with this product – and it’s a mid-light kind of a day. I think maybe in full sunshine it might be a little much neat but for this kind of a day it’s bringing the kind of light that I feel I need on my skin.

In terms of texture, Dew Dream is fluid which makes it a dream to blend. If I had a blind-fold on, texture wise I would have guessed Dior and I’m not joking. It has that cool and soft hit as soon as it touches your complexion and blending with a brush could not be easier. There are 8 shades – Shade 3 is a perfect match for me – and I hope at some point there will be more. If you’d prefer just a hint of a glow, add it to your day cream or whatever foundation you’re wearing or do the traditional sweep over the high points of the face – it’s a more subtle effect but you’ll still get the low key lightfulness you’re looking for.

I hate to gush but at £4, the Studio London Flaunt Flawless (could do with a name change – I can hardly summon the effort to go to Tesco, never mind flaunt anything) Liquid Blush is just a dream and even more of a dream at £4 a tube. I’m wearing It’s Hot, a pinky peachy skin livener that you can adjust to fit your blush comfort level. Start with a tiny dot on a brush or directly onto the skin and blend – if you need more, add more. If you need less, blend and blend some more. It’s the bargain of the summer. Above, from bottom to top, the shades are: It’s Hot, It’s Giving, It’s Over and It’s Mine. Dew Dream is HERE and Flaunt Flawless is HERE.

Clinique Nude Honey Almost Lipstick Review & Swatch

Let me introduce you to Clinique Nude Honey Almost Lipstick. I’ve been a long-time lover of the Clinique Almost Lipstick range, and like many, I really loved the cult-classic Black Honey. Then I tried the softer, Pink Honey, which I reviewed here. But now… there’s a new contender, and dare I say, it might just be my favourite of them all!

If you’re wondering how it compares to Black Honey and Pink Honey, I’ve got all the swatches, details and comparisons below.

What is Clinique Almost Lipstick?

Before we get into the gorgeousness that is Nude Honey, here’s a quick refresher.

Clinique Almost Lipstick is one of the brand’s most iconic formulas. It’s not quite a lipstick, not quite a balm, it’s that perfect hybrid of sheer colour, lightweight texture and a softly sheeny finish.

It’s incredibly flattering, super easy to apply (no mirror needed!), and has a cult following for good reason. If you’ve tried Black Honey, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

Clinique Nude Honey Almost Lipstick – My Review

First Impressions

As soon as I opened the tube, I knew I was going to love Nude Honey. The bullet looks like a rich, warm nude, almost caramel-toned, but as with all the Almost Lipsticks, the real magic happens when you apply it.

On the lips, Nude Honey transforms into a sheer, peachy-bronze tint that enhances your natural lip colour beautifully. It has that same “your lips but better” effect as Black Honey, but with a softer, more sun-kissed feel.

Texture & Formula

The formula is, as always, dreamy. It glides on effortlessly, giving a sheer wash of colour that builds slightly with each layer. It feels hydrating but not sticky and is like a nourishing lip balm in an elegant lipstick format.

This is the kind of product I can swipe on during the day for a polished, understated look, or pair with bronzy eyes (namely my REESON Lid Elixir in Toasted Cinnamon*) and glowing skin for a summery evening vibe.

Nude Honey vs Black Honey vs Pink Honey

If you managed to catch my previous post you’ll know that Black Honey was a firm favourite. It’s a deep berry tint that somehow suits everyone. Then came Pink Honey, a soft, muted pink that’s perfect for spring.

But now? I truly think Nude Honey is the best of the bunch. It’s the most wearable for every day, and it brings that subtle warmth to the face that just makes you look more alive.

Here’s a quick comparison:

  • Black Honey – rich sheer berry
  • Pink Honey – soft rosy pink
  • Nude Honey – sheer peachy nude

Swatches – Nude Honey, Black Honey & Pink Honey

Here are the swatches so you can really see the difference in tone:

You can see how Nude Honey has that golden, bronzy warmth. It’s perfect for enhancing a summer tan or giving your complexion a little lift.

Final Thoughts

Black Honey has always been my favourite, but I think Nude Honey has just topped it. If you’re after something low-maintenance, flattering, and a bit different to your usual nude lipstick, this is a must-try.

It’s the kind of lip colour that works with any look, from barely-there makeup to full glam.

Boxwalla – A Brief History of Timeless Things

by Lina Clémence July 5, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

My December Boxwalla box arrived a couple of days ago and I had to go and get it from the sorting office yesterday. I am always really excited to receive these boxes, they are so beautifully put together, with interesting brands and products.

I did a recent post outlining my experience with Boxwalla over the last year (find that here) and it proved really popular, so I thought I would share this box with you as soon at it arrived as I know many of you enjoy seeing the contents. This box is still available as a one time purchase, so I will leave the link to it below. Obviously this won’t be an in depth review of the performance of the products, as I have only just started using them, but my first impressions.

Boxwalla is a bi-monthly subscription with a different theme for each box. This boxes theme is – A Brief History of Timeless Things:

“With three beautiful products, each a carrier of culture, telling stories that began 5000 years ago from Egypt, Rome, Oman, Namibia, India and more.”

The box has a really nice festive feel to it. The contents feel special and the ingredients definitely fit the Holiday season mood. There are three products in the box, one full size and two very generous trial sizes. I have said it before but I appreciate that this box isn’t full of fiddly sachets, every product gives a generous amount of use.

Lepaar Precious face oil – I was incredibly excited to see this Australian brand featured in the box as I had been curious about their range. This face oil features sixteen biodynamic, wildcrafted and organic botanicals, including pomegranate, papaya and sea buckthorn. The essential oil blend couldn’t be more apt, with Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold. It smells incredible, earthy and spicy and I am obsessed with the Lepaar branding. I haven’t been this excited about a brand in a long time.

Dafna’s Eye care – I am pretty obsessed with all the Dafna’s products I have tried, the nutrition is my current night cream of choice and the cleansing balm is divine. Eye care is quite a unique product as it has the texture of an eye gel, but feels really moisturising like a cream. It features rosehip oil, soothing calendula oil and hibiscus extract.

Rebel and Mercury candle – I love candles and this one is a gorgeous blend of Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. It features coconut wax rather than soy or petroleum based wax and has an incredible scent throw. I have nearly finished mine and loved every second of it, the house smells fantastic now. If you are in the US this is a brand to check out!

I have been receiving these boxes for over a year now and they never disappoint. I have some in depth reviews of some of the items from previous boxes coming in the New Year. If you would like to buy this box you can as a one off and subscriptions are also open for February if you would like to receive the boxes regularly.

*December beauty box – One off purchase available here.

*Beauty box subscriptions (starting February) – Available here.

Did you receive this box? Let me know your thoughts.
