Superdrug Naturally Radiant – Three Products You Need to Try! – All Things Aesthetic

by Lina Clémence July 4, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all staying safe at the moment. I just want to make a point of saying, while of course this situation is affecting some worse than others, please do not feel silly for struggling with the lock-down stipulations; it can be so hard trying to adjust, and I for one have been struggling. I say this on every post at the moment, but my comments/emails are always open for those of you who may need a chat. It’s a difficult time for everyone right now, and my thoughts go out to everybody affected by this situation. I know that I will never be taking even the most mundane things for granted ever again.

I’ve been focusing on my skincare routine during this lock-down, especially as make-up has just been non-existent. A positive of this is that my skin has cleared up, but I am craving a little bit of time to get all glammed up so I think I will be doing a post soon that focuses on make-up! But, for now, I will be discussing Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Range, and the three products you NEED to try. A couple have featured in previous blog posts, but I think the brand now deserves a post dedicated to it entirely.

Why do I love this brand?

I’ve mentioned before that I always try to source cruelty-free brands, and this range is entirely cruelty-free AND they have a lot of vegan products too. It’s also super affordable, with the general price range falling between around £5-£10, but everything is ALWAYS on offer – check here to see their recent offers – get buying while you still can! Now for my top three…

Product 1 – Hot Cloth Cleanser

(I know the pics aren’t aesthetically pleasing – sorry!!!)

So the current price for this product is £3.48 for a 100ml bottle which also comes with a muslin cloth, and this is a vegan product. For application, gently massage onto the skin with the tips of your fingers, and then rinse the muslin cloth in warm water and use to polish off the cleanser. I’ve loved this product since I first started using it back in October and would say it’s an absolute must-have! It gets rid of excess make-up while gently exfoliating your skin. It contains skincare essentials such as Vitamin C, Mulberry Fruit, and Cocoa Butter, all of which work to even, brighten, moisturise and draw out impurities.

Product 2 – Glycolic Tonic 5% Toner

This is another product priced at £3.48 for a 100ml bottle, although it does not state that it is vegan on the website. This too contains Vitamin C and Mulberry Fruit, but it is also highly concentrated in Glycolic Acid which helps smooth out fine lines and helps reduce pores (both of which are issues I am REALLY insecure about), while also being renowned as a key ingredient for exfoliation (read more about it here). Again, this is brightening and keeps the skin healthy rejuvenated. Apply using a cotton pad to the face and neck.

Product 3 – Renewing Night Cream

Again, this is on offer for £3.48 for a 75ml bottle, although I must add that this also doesn’t state that it’s vegan. This is a product I’ve only recently tried but I absolutely love it and would say that this is an absolute must-have as you will wake up with the SOFTEST skin. It contains Sugar Beet and Fruit Acids which work to moisturise the skin and leave your face feeling super smooth. Apply using the tips of your fingers in circular motions until fully absorbed into the skin.

I hope this post has given you some skinspiration to keep your skin fresh during the lock-down. What’s imperative during this time, however, is that you’re looking after your mental health and keeping safe. It’s a scary world right now and it’s okay to feel worried, you’re not alone. Keep doing positive things and stay in touch with friends and family.

Hopefully I can keep up the blog posts because I really am finding it therapeutic. One of the main things I’ve tried to do during this time is keep myself busy, and so far so good! Speak soon xxx

Neal’s Yard Women’s Balance Body Collection

by Lina Clémence July 3, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Post features PR samples (AD info: PR samples)

This new collection of body care products from Neal’s Yard caught my eye as I feel like I’m definitely in need of a little dose of women’s balance. I’m currently in what I’ve heard called the ‘fourth trimester’ – aka the period of time post party where you’re adjusting to new baby life alongside recovering from the physical onslaught of everything that comes with growing and giving birth to a baby. All of which is a bit of a rollercoaster to say the least. Hormone wise, body wise and just getting used to the overhaul of your day to day.

The range is designed as a combination of body care and overall wellbeing combining the benefits of the Neal’s Yard Women’s Balance aromatherapy blend into a range of products. Taking the understanding that women’s bodies (and minds) are a bit of an ever changing journey and so the addition of the products can help bring a bit of balance and perhaps stability to day to day whilst giving your skin and body a little extra TLC.

The products in the range include:

  • WOMEN’S BALANCE SHOWER OIL, £19.50 | 200ml
  • WOMEN’S BALANCE BODY CREAM, £30 | 200g
  • WOMEN’S BALANCE FOAMING BATH, £15 | 200ml
  • WOMEN’S BALANCE MASSAGE OIL, £14 | 100ml
  • WOMEN’S BALANCE BATH SALTS, £15 | 350g

Each bringing the aromatherapy element of the blend. The shower oil and the bath salts are my favourites. I’ve loved being able to have a bath again after a few weeks recovery after my delivery. The texture of the body cream is delicious too – rich but not too heavy. Absorbs in beautifully and leaves skin soft, with a sheen but not greasy.

I would guess one thing to mention is the fragrance, for anyone who isn’t familiar with the women’s balance blend the key oils are patchouli, geranium, rose and frankincense. All together it is quite a heady mix of aromas. The rose comes through giving a bit of a familiar feminine note. They do all work together so well and there is something really grounding about taking a big old deep breath of the bath salts especially. I love how the bathroom fills with the fragrance of it – so there’s a bit of a lingering scent beyond the bath (or more like a hurried wash which is more the case these days).

I’m really enjoying the products from this new collection and love that you can pick and choose the different elements depending on what you can fit into your own routine. As I said before, my top picks are the shower oil and bath salts!

Prices start from £14 and available from Neals Yard Remedies

Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 884

by Lina Clémence July 2, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. Do you have a favorite vegetable?

Yes! Carrots, for sure. The fact that you can turn them into a cake is a big deal! I mean, come on, have you ever heard of a broccoli cake? Or an okra cake? Yeah, I didn’t think so, LOL! I also love that you can put them in salads, roast them or just eat them plain with a variety of different dips.

2. A song that’s been stuck in your head lately?

“Top of the World” by The Carpenters has been on repeat in my car.

3. Something you’ve been avoiding lately?

Social media and the news cycle in general.

4. Lip masks: yes or no?

Yes, but only if we’re talking Laneige.

5. Whatcha reading right now?

“The Mysterious Bakery on Rue de Paris” by Evie Woods. I’m on a magical realism kick!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Here are the questions to copy/paste with your answers in a comment. Talk to ya soon.

FINDING YOUR MATERNITY STYLE – Lily Pebbles

by Lina Clémence July 1, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

When it comes to getting pregnant, maternity style was the last thing on my mind. I spent years freaking out about the idea of giving birth, I then started trying and spent months freaking out about not being able to conceive and then when it happened I was over the moon/very sick in my first trimester. At no point had I really considered how my changing body shape would affect me, because honestly I wasn’t that into my body beforehand anyway. But actually, at 31 years old I had finally worked out my personal style and how to dress comfortably whilst still feeling stylish. Well getting pregnant changed everything, from 10 weeks I couldn’t fit into my straight leg high waisted jeans and wearing maternity jeans (when trying to hide the fact you’re pregnant) meant my top tucked in look was also out the window.

I spent week 10 to 17 wearing loose tops/jumpers with skinny maternity jeans, a look I wore a lot a few years back but I missed the enjoyment of picking an outfit out, putting it on and feeling confident going out in it. Getting dressed felt like just a way of avoiding being naked and I felt absolutely no joy in my wardrobe. I realised that opening my wardrobe doors to find all my old clothes that I could no longer wear was really not helping the situation, so Anna came over to help me put all the clothes that no longer fit me in storage to make room for a new maternity appropriate wardrobe. From then on I decided that just floating my way through pregnancy wearing old oversized clothes was a) not going to make me feel great and b) be quite tricky with my job.

Maternity clothing has quite a bad rep for a few different reasons. People often feel like investing in clothes that are only appropriate for a small space of time is unnecessary and often maternity clothing can be pretty dull; striped tops, dungarees and not much else really. I guess with your first baby you’re more likely to invest as you can hopefully store the clothes for the next time but still, it is a bit frustrating to have to re-do your wardrobe when you were very happy with how it was before. I do think though that the investment isn’t just in the clothes, it’s an investment in your happiness and in feeling good throughout your pregnancy which is so important. It’s a testing time with all those new hormones saying around so a nice new top or pair of jeans can’t hurt really.

Finding the right maternity jeans made all the difference to me. My old straight leg style no longer worked so I went back to skinny and despite feeling quite 2016 it just works better. Everyone seems to have their own preference on under the bump or over the bump, but I find over the bump cuts in less and helps hold in the bump in quite a comforting way. I get to the end of the day and just HAVE to take them off before I suffocate, but I think that’s just being pregnant. At the beginning I wore jeans with just a stretchy side panel, I then moved to under the bump and now I’m a fully converted over the bump-er.

Depending on how confident you are with your bump, a tight top can be really flattering. It’s so strange, you spend so much of your life trying to hide your tummy area and enhance other more flattering parts of your body, but then you get pregnant and actually it can look better to just embrace the bump. When I wear tight tops I get a lot of “oh you’ve grown”, or “ooh you’re nearly there” comments, whereas sometimes if I just wear a normal loose top people say “ooh you’re so tiny” or “where’s your bump”, so just be prepared for the conflicting opinions based on your clothing choice of the day. But being pregnant is amazing and sometimes you just wanna wear your bump loud and proud and a stretchy, tight top is perfect for that.

I’ve found maternity shopping quite frustrating as I’m someone who loves to shop in stores and try things on, I’ve always been in between sizes. Turns out most the brands who are known to have good maternity only stock it online! So I’ve done plenty or ordering, trying on and then having to return over the past few months. Places I’ve enjoyed shopping are ASOS, Zara, Topshop (who actually do have a store in town), Seraphine and H&M. I have also been very lucky to be pregnant in the winter, I have no idea how I would have managed with the heat and what to wear in the height of summer.

So to wrap this up I’m going to leave you with some of my top picks over a few different categories. What’s worked well for me has been long tops, skinny jeans, dungarees (cliche but there’s a reason) and cardigans with vest tops. I still don’t really feel like ‘me’ and I know it’ll only get harder as my bump gets bigger but it’s all for an amazing reason and I know I can go back to enjoying a tucked in top and high waisted jeans one day!

The Best Gift You Can Give Yourself This Year? An End of Year Review…

by Lina Clémence June 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

This is a guest post written by Iti Malken, Self-Development Expert and the Creator of Level Up by Iti.

Often at this time of year you are likely to be thinking about what the new year will bring and you might find that you are already filling up your calendar with events and plans. But before you start focusing on 2023, it’s important to close out the old year with intention.

Iti Malken self-development expert and the creator of the Level Up by Iti method says, “By the end of the year, we can forget a lot that happened. We might think that the year didn’t go so well. However, after writing up our annual review, we soon realise that we had many more successes than we originally remembered”.

Sitting down to do an annual review takes time, patience, and can feel a little uncomfortable and confronting. Why spend time doing this when you could be watching that festive Netflix movie you might ask?

Reflecting on the year is a powerful way to understand the patterns of your life and if you are moving in circles. This allows you to find new and better ways over the usual pathways and take note of the wins and losses of your life. Celebrate the wins and be compassionate with the things that did not go that well. What is important here: the clarity you get is the basis to new ideas and positive change.

It’s actually the perfect antidote to the Christmas chaos giving you some much-needed time to reflect and give you a head start on the year ahead, your goals and vision.

Iti Malken, a self-development expert, says “Your annual review really is the best gift you can give yourself at the end of each year and will give you strong foundations upon which to set and achieve your goals. For me it has become an essential part of my own personal development journey and can be even more powerful than creating a vision board.

Overview

Often, we are so focused on what our new year goals are we forget to appreciate the achievements from the last 12 months. With 2023 just around the corner, now is a great time to pause and reflect on the past twelve months by writing your end of year personal review.

This exercise will help to set you up for success in January by reflecting on what you achieved during the year, what obstacles you faced and overcame and most importantly the lessons you learnt. Think of it as taking an honest look at the year and what went well, your achievements and the things that perhaps didn’t go so well.

An annual review isn’t easy. But when you commit to taking an honest look at your year— your highs, your lows, your actions, your mindset — you shift your life’s trajectory.

The Things You Will Need To Do Your Review

Plan around two hours of uninterrupted time where you can be on your own. Think of it as a mini retreat and create a comfortable environment where you can relax. You can use a desk or spread out on the floor. Grab a cup of tea, light a candle or do whatever you need to feel nourished and get the creativity flowing. Try to turn your phone and notifications off.

You will need some large blank sheets of paper and pens and ideally your journals, notebooks and diaries from the year so you can review everything. If you use the notes app on your phone and you tend to store things digitally then you can use your phone, just make sure it is in flight mode for part one.

How To Get started

You can review your year in a way that feels good to you and you can review it based on your own criteria. You might want to do a straight review of the goals you set in 2022. Which ones did you meet and which ones are you perhaps rolling over into 2023?

You might want to go back through your old journals and notebooks from the year and do a month-by-month review. Remember there isn’t just one way of doing this and if you personalise the process you are more likely to enjoy it and then it can become a yearly ritual that you begin to look forward to.

The simplest strategy is to split the review into two sections. You will find a series of questions below which will give you both a snapshot of where you are right now and also dig deeper into the different areas of life and shine a light on where you might want to make changes.

Once you have got settled in your space with everything you need you can do a short 10-minute meditation to come into the present moment.

Then take some time to free-write in your journal. How are you feeling right now? What emotions are coming up? Don’t judge what you are writing – it might just be keywords that are coming up or even ideas. There is no judgement.

Now it’s time to start jotting down the answers to some questions that will help you to organise your thoughts and feelings. Again, there is no right or wrong way to do this. Just allow yourself to answer them freely and without judgement. Some might feel more relevant than others.

General Review Questions

What were your key highlights of the year?

What are you most proud of?

What went well? What didn’t go well?

What was the biggest lesson (or lessons) you learned this year?

What new skills did you learn this year?

What was most challenging for you, and how did it make you feel?

What were your three biggest work accomplishments? What contributed to them?

Are there any other goals apart from the work you achieved that you are proud of?

Have you developed any healthy habits you want to keep?

What was the best decision you made all year? What did you learn from it?

People And Relationships

How has your relationship with yourself changed this year?

Which people in your life are you most grateful for?

Which person has inspired you the most this year and how?

Which person had the biggest negative impact on your life? Why?

What new relationships enhanced your life? Who? How?

The Year Ahead

Now you have reflected on the past 12 months, it’s time to start thinking ahead to 2023. You should now have clarity on what you want to work and your aspirations so you can start the strategic planning part.

To get started, answer the following questions

What would a dream year look like for you in 2023?

What does success in 2023 mean for you?

What three big goals will you accomplish next year?

How do your goals for 2023 translate into actionable habits and processes?

What habits, behaviours, or attitudes will you need to develop or adopt next year?

What habits and behaviours do you need to change?

Try to dig deeper into the questions and answer them fully, really identifying your why and the reason behind wanting to achieve each goal.

Put Your Dreams Into Actionable Goals

You’ve already mastered the deep work of your annual review. What’s left is a plan that helps you move towards your desired 2023 outcome.

Once you’ve broken down your dreams into actionable processes, summarise your reflections on one sheet. This summary will be your foundation for 2023. Place it somewhere where you can see it each day like on a mirror.

The recommendation with this would be to break each goal down into manageable steps with each goal having a monthly progress check in. In order to keep the momentum going it’s crucial to check in on where you are at so that any problems or red flags can be dealt with.

For best results do this review every 3 months or so, review previously set goals and add new ones if needed.

Setting Yourself Up For Success

Remember that once you have put your goal setting in place and you have a clear roadmap to navigate you that you need to let go of your vision. Remember you can only control so much of the process and that is your mindset and input. There will of course be some bumps in the road and you will need to course correct, or perhaps you decide that something you previously planned out you are no longer in alignment with. The only thing you need to focus on at any given time is the next tangible step.

I hope these questions help you as you draw up goals for the new year, and I also hope they help you to honour yourself and your achievements.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to find ways to use up my rose petals, as after dead-heading my roses each day, I’m left with many handfuls of beautiful rose petals which until recently, I didn’t know what to do with. Last week I made a rosewater mist which has been a wonderful addition to my skincare routine. I’ve also been incorporating rose petals into sweet treats; jams, shortbread, and now ice cream!

Ingredients

200g Whole Milk

6 Large Egg Yolks

1 Vanilla Pod, seeds only (or 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste!)

400g Double Cream

250g Caster Sugar

700g Rhubarb (sliced into small pieces, around 3cm)

300g Strawberries (even better if they are freshly picked from your garden!)

Petals from 1 or 2 Roses

A Drizzle of Olive Oil (I always reach for Citizens of Soil Extra Virgin Olive Oil, using code OLIVEJOSIE10).

Method

1 – Start by preparing the fruit. Slice the rhubarb into small pieces of about 3cm and halve the strawberries. Transfer the rhubarb and strawberries to a pan and cook over medium heat with the remaining 150g sugar until the fruit has softened, but is not falling apart. Once bubbling, add the rose petals and cook for a further minute before removing from the heat.

2 – Allow the fruit mixture to cool and then freeze it until needed.

3 – Place milk, egg yolks and the seeds from your vanilla pod (or vanilla bean paste) in a saucepan and use a whisk to combine the ingredients thoroughly.

4 – Gently heat this mixture over a low/medium heat, stirring regularly.

5 – To your heated mixture add the cream and 100g of your sugar and whisk.

6 – Remove from the heat, then leave the mixture to cool for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

7 – Once chilled, churn the ice cream mixture in an ice cream maker, such as the Ninja Creami, following your ice-cream maker’s churning recommendations, then leave in the freezer for a minimum of 8 hours.

8 – Once the ice cream mixture has totally frozen, remove from the freezer and scoop it back into the ice cream maker.

9 – To the ice-cream maker, add the frozen fruit mixture with a drizzle of olive oil and blend until the ice cream is smooth.

10 –  You can enjoy your ice cream straight away (I love mine served with chopped fresh strawberries!) or keep frozen until needed.

How To Choose The Right Face Cream For Your Skin Type

by Lina Clémence June 27, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Selecting the perfect skincare can be a daunting task, given the number of options available in the beauty market. However, understanding your skin type and its specific needs is the key to finding the ideal moisturiser.

Here is a quick guide to help you navigate the beauty-sphere and choose the right face cream for your skin type.

1. Identify Your Skin Type

Before diving into the world of face creams, it’s crucial to determine your skin type. Generally, skin falls into one of these categories:

  • Normal – Balanced, not too oily or dry
  • Oily – Excess sebum production, prone to acne
  • Dry – Lacks moisture, may feel tight or flaky
  • Combination – Oily T-zone with normal or dry cheeks
  • Sensitive – Easily irritated, prone to redness

2. Key Ingredients to Look For

Once you’ve identified your skin type, focus on these beneficial ingredients:

  • Normal Skin – Look for balanced formulas with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants
  • Oily Skin – Opt for oil-free, non-comedogenic formulas with salicylic acid or niacinamide
  • Dry Skin – Seek out rich creams with ceramides, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid
  • Combination Skin – Choose lightweight, gel-cream formulas with hyaluronic acid
  • Sensitive Skin – Go for fragrance-free options with soothing ingredients like aloe vera or chamomile

3. Consider Your Specific Skin Concerns

One you have determined your skin type, address any particular skin issues:

  • Anti-aging – Look for retinol, peptides, collagen and antioxidants
  • Acne-prone – Seek non-comedogenic formulas with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide
  • Hyperpigmentation – Choose creams with Vitamin C, kojic acid, or niacinamide
  • Rosacea – Opt for calming ingredients like green tea or centella asiatica

4. Texture Matters

The texture of your face cream should complement your skin type:

  • Oily skin – Lightweight gels or lotions
  • Dry skin – Rich, creamy formulas
  • Combination skin – Gel-creams or medium-weight lotions
  • Sensitive skin – Simple, fragrance-free creams

5. Don’t Forget SPF

Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial and SPF should be worn every day, something I only considered later in my skincare journey and wish I had known sooner. Look for face cream with built-in SPF for daytime use, or layer a separate sunscreen over your moisturiser.

Personally, I use a separate SPF on top of my moisturiser as the last step of my routine, to guarantee the protection I need.

6. Patch Test Before Committing

If possible, try the cream in-store or ask for a sample and test it out on small area of skin before applying all over the face. This is especially true if opting for any creams that include acids, or if you may have sensitive skin.

7. Adjust According to Season

Your skin’s needs may change with the seasons. You might require a lighter formula in summer and a richer cream in winter. Be prepared to adjust your skincare routine accordingly.

Lastly, remember what works for someone else may not work for you, so don’t be afraid to experiment until you find your perfect match. Your skin will thank you for the extra effort!

Jane Iredale Skintuition SPF30 Radiance Boosting Foundation Review

by Lina Clémence June 26, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It feels like a long time since Jane Iredale appeared anywhere in the UK – it’s not been in my sightline for literally years. The company was sold to venture capital in 2019 and if my memory serves me correctly, it was far more active in the UK prior to that. As an early adopter of mineral make up Jane Iredale sat in the same row of seats as bareMinerals with powder foundations at their core. Powder foundations were never for me but I have seen the miracles of their ability to correct and improve oily, blemish prone skin.

I feel like Jane Iredale was always a salon/small retailer brand rather than a high street brand and that still seems to be the case. However, they’ve returned with the force of a lion with their new foundation – Jane Iredale Skintuition SPF30 Radiance Boosting Foundation. It’s really very, very good for a luminous, mid-coverage base in 26 shades.

I was sent 3 shades (loved the packaging which looks like an iPad or iPhone Pro – which I wish it was because it was such a mistake not to go Pro when I updated a few months ago!) and they’re bizarrely accurate for my tone. From bottom to top, 26 Light, 34 Light Medium (best shade for me) and 36 Light Medium. The feel is cool on the skin and very lightweight – I tested this when it was very hot and could actually tolerate it. Like most new foundations now, there is a skin care element with hyaluronic acid and a hydration complex and it’s been formulated to feel as much like skin care as it does foundation.

As you can see, Jane Iredale Skintuition SPF30 Radiance Boosting Foundation is giving a visible smoothness and radiance (there’s no highlighter on), evening out my tone and giving a perfected canvas for the rest of my make up. This was a very quick application with no other make up at all – I should have blended it better but given the speed, I think it’s looking good. There’s a claim on the website that this foundation is endorsed by The Skin Cancer Foundation (USA) as an effective daily broad spectrum sunscreen (actually there’s a typo that turns it into the Skin Care Foundation which I couldn’t find anywhere on Google and spent quite a long time looking – grr) meaning that you don’t need to double dose your SPF unless you want to. The last on the foundation was pretty good – I added other make up over it later and the whole lot held for the day. The foundation is quite expensive at £55 but it’s currently on offer for £46.75 HERE.

Although I haven’t quite found the right shade in this foundation yet, I know that when I do, it is going to be love. Here’s the lowdown on the Jane Iredale Skintuition Liquid Foundation SPF 30.

What is Jane Iredale Skintuition?

Jane Iredale Skintuition Liquid Foundation SPF 30

This is positioned as medium, buildable liquid foundation with physical SPF 30 sun protection. It promises a healthy, skin-like finish.

  • Lightweight liquid formula
  • Promises a barely there feel
  • Medium, buildable coverage
  • Naturally radiant perfected finish
  • Shades are designed to stay true all day
  • Blurs and smooths the appearance of fine lines and texture
  • Infused with skincare ingredients to hydrate
  • Uses a physical SPF 30 to protect from the sun
  • Water-resistant up to 40 minutes

As I haven’t quite found my shade match yet, I am hoping to get a few more shades swatched for you, so stay tuned.

As I said, I haven’t found my perfect match just yet, but I am showing you shade 24 here. As soon as I get a better match, I will share further photos.

My Review

My Review of Jane Iredale Skintuition Liquid Foundation SPF 30
My Review of Jane Iredale Skintuition Liquid Foundation SPF 30

I have to be honest, Jane Iredale has never really been a brand I’ve gravitated towards. It’s not one I ever come across when I’m browsing online, and it definitely hasn’t had much airtime in the UK beauty scene. But when I heard about the new Jane Iredale Skintuition Liquid Foundation SPF 30, I was intrigued. It’s marketed as a skincare-foundation hybrid, and it offers SPF 30.

So I gave it a go and I have to say, from the very first swipe, I was surprisingly impressed.

First Impressions: Application & Texture

From the first application, I was really into it. The texture is silky and blendable and it’s not too runny and not too thick. I found that it glides on beautifully with my REESON No. 1 brush which I use for pretty much all my complexion tasks. It delivers a solid medium coverage, and what stood out to me straight away was how incredibly blurring it is. It softened the look of my pores and texture almost instantly.

I haven’t quite found my perfect shade match just yet (I tried shade 24, which is slightly too light for me), but I’ve been making it work beautifully by warming it up with my REESON Beauty Bronzing Balm over the top. Once everything’s blended in, it looks seamless.

Finish: Luminous, Radiant & Skin-Like

One of my favourite things about this foundation is the finish. It’s radiant, but not shiny. Think healthy, fresh, dewy-but-not-greasy skin. It gives that “lit-from-within” glow that I absolutely love and it requires little or no skin prep to get that glowy look.

I find that it doesn’t cling to dry patches, doesn’t sit in fine lines, and doesn’t look cakey or mask-like. Just a super flattering, natural skin finish.

Longevity & Wear Test

What really surprised me was the staying power. On the first day I tried it, I applied it in the morning, ran around all day, and when I looked in the mirror at bedtime, I was pretty impressed. Everything was in place, and my skin looked fresh and smooth.

For something with such a radiant finish, it has amazing longevity. I didn’t need to touch up at all throughout the day. And for reference, I have combination skin, and this held up beautifully with no patchiness, oiliness, or separating.

Who is it Best For?

I think the Jane Iredale Skintuition Foundation is perfect for:

  • Dry skin types – because of its hydrating, radiant finish.
  • Mature skin – it doesn’t settle into lines and blurs texture beautifully
  • Combination skin – like mine, especially if you love a glow

Oily skin types might need a bit of powder in the T-zone, but the formula itself isn’t overly greasy or slippery.

Final Thoughts: Do I Recommend It?

Even though Jane Iredale isn’t a brand I’d typically reach for, this foundation has really impressed me. The Jane Iredale Skintuition Liquid Foundation gives you radiant, healthy-looking skin, blurs imperfections, and lasts all day. The only downside for me is not finding my ideal shade match (yet!), but I’ll definitely be exploring more of the range.

If you’re after a skincare-foundation hybrid that looks and feels like real skin and holds up beautifully throughout the day, this is absolutely worth checking out.
