My Review

My Review of The Glossier Lip Glaze
My Review of The Glossier Lip Glaze

Texture & Formula: Creamy with a Fresh Mint Kick

The first thing you notice when applying Glossier Lip Glaze is the texture. It’s creamy yet lightweight, giving lips that smooth, balmy cushion without any of the tackiness that can ruin a good gloss.

There’s a definite minty tingle, which feels cooling and fresh but never overwhelming. It’s that perfect middle ground between invigorating and comfortable. If you’re sensitive to mint, don’t worry, it’s not a stinger, just a subtle cooling effect. If you hate mint, it’s worth noting that the minty feeling is quite long lasting, so these may not be for you.

Shades & Sheerness: Easy to Wear Everyday Tints

Each shade in the Lip Glaze range is incredibly sheer, which makes them super flattering and versatile. These aren’t bold pigment-heavy glosses. They’re sheer washes that enhance your natural lip tone and layer over liner or lipstick if you want more punch.

Featured Shade: “Icy”: A Nostalgic Favourite

Icy is the pale blue-toned clear gloss that has my heart. It immediately reminded me of the first-ever gloss I bought from Benefit years ago. It was a translucent gloss that promised to make your teeth look whiter. That one’s been long discontinued, but “Icy” brings back all that glossy nostalgia in a modern, hydrating formula.

Though it looks blue in the tube, it applies mostly clear, adding a subtle cool tone. A great throwback moment for me!

Finish & Wear: Glossy, Plumping Look Without Stickiness

The finish is plump, juicy, and glassy. There’s no shimmer just a jelly-like shine that wears well for a gloss. It does fades after eating or drinking but reapplication is quick and easy, and actually feels good because it boosts hydration each time you swipe it on.

Hydration & Comfort: Like Skincare for Lips

If your lips are often dry but you hate sticky formulas, Glossier Lip Glaze is a win. It feels moisturising without slipping off, and while it doesn’t replace your lip balm entirely, it definitely adds a hydrating layer throughout the day.

I’d say it feels more like a gloss than a lip oil, but still manages to keep the lips feeling soft.

Who Should Try It?

Glossier Lip Glaze is perfect for anyone who wants a subtle, wearable gloss with a bit of extra care built in. It’s not for those looking for bold pigment, but if you love a “your lips but better” vibe with a fresh twist, this is it.

If you are looking for something more on the budget end, that also leaves a stain on the lips, check out NYX Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Stain Review and Swatches.

Where to buy it

Glossier Lip Glaze is £22 for 8ml and it’s available now via the links below:

New in: Yogi Tea Turmeric Chai #GoldenMoments

by Lina Clémence June 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

**This post is sponsored by Yogi Tea**

At this time of year we are all a little bit frazzled from the lead up to the holiday season and our immune system needs a warming boost. It is also the perfect time to reflect on the year, all the good things and what we are looking forward to for the year ahead.
For this reason I am very excited to share with you the latest product from Yogi Tea, a brand whose holistic approach fuses ancient Ayurvedic wisdom and a strong connection with Yoga to create flavoursome organic tea blends. If you are looking for a brand who are mindful of ingredients and sustainability, Yogi Tea is for you.

Turmeric chai is the latest product to hit the extensive range and will be available in stores January, so you are getting an exclusive preview. Turmeric has a characteristic golden yellow colour and is recognised as a useful addition to your diet due to its many health properties. Turmeric is well known to be anti-inflammatory and is perfect for tackling the stresses and strains of modern living.

Turmeric is a root in the same family as ginger, the root is dried and ground to a powder which can then be added to food. Turmeric chai is a fantastic way to enjoy the benefits turmeric in an easy and tasty way.

YOGITEA® Turmeric Chai is beautifully fragrant with a smooth taste. Turmeric is blended with cinnamon and ginger in this tea and the cinnamon gives a nice underlying sweetness. The spices are very subtle and gentle, it also has a creaminess to it which is very pleasant.

How to prepare your Golden Milk:

There are two ways to prepare golden milk with Turmeric chai. The first way is to steep the tea bag in hot water for around five minutes and then add your choice of milk and sweetener to taste. The second way is to bring your choice of milk to the boil and brew the Turmeric Chai tea bag for around five minutes.

Every Yogi Tea blend comes with its own individual yoga pose on the box, The Yoga pose for Turmeric Chai helps to strengthen digestion, which is especially useful at this time of year. I really like these little details, it really makes you think about your wellbeing in different ways.

The gorgeous golden colour of Turmeric Chai has inspired Yogi Tea to focus on the golden hour. Golden hour:

“Sunlight turns magical during the period shortly after sunrise and before sunset”

Golden hour is the perfect time to reflect on some of the wonderful moments from 2017. It has been such a busy year, full of exciting moments and change and I wanted to share some of my golden moments with you.

My golden moments of 2017 #GoldenMoments

Judging the OK Beauty awards – I was thrilled to be asked to be one of the judges of the Beauty Awards with OK this year alongside celebrated names in the industry such as Lee Stafford. It was fantastic to be involved with the awards and the standard of entries was really high. Also great to see Natural and Organic beauty get its own category, it feels like the industry took naturals a lot more seriously this year than ever before.

Reaching a million page views – I have never been one to focus too much on stats and figures when it comes to this blog, but reaching over a million page views earlier this year felt like an important milestone for my little corner of the internet. I remember vividly being very pleased to reach a thousand, so I could never have dreamed that I would one day have achieved this.

Babies first words – Baby Green has become this year a walking, talking, very funny little person. Although having a young child has its challenges, it also has so many rewards as they start to learn new skills almost daily. She is incredibly chatty and has gone from using single words to putting words together to form sentences, which is so lovely to see as she is not yet two. Every time I hear her little voice call my name, my heart melts. Being a Mum is perhaps by happiest and most challenging achievement.

What I am looking forward to – Looking towards my 2018 #GoldenMoments. Next year is shaping up to be another busy and fun packed year. I have some exciting projects coming up that I can’t wait to share with you, including talking all things natural beauty, of course. I also am currently enrolled with Formula Botanica, the online cosmetic science school, which means I will be experimenting with formulating my own products which is very exciting. Most of all I am exciting to be learning and taking this blog that step further in the New Year, I truly appreciate being able to nurture this space.

Let me know what your #GoldenMoments of 2017 have been. What achievements have you been proud of? Share them on social media using the hashtag #GoldenMoments and tag Yogi Tea so we can see them. You can find the brand on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
You can find out more information on all the Yogi Tea blends at www.yogitea.com.

Nailed it – My Views On Revolution Nail Products! – All Things Aesthetic

by Lina Clémence June 12, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Happy Thursday! I’m finally feeling a little more human having been unwell last week, so that’s a positive. I have been struggling with the lock down recently, and if I’m completely honest, my mental health has taken a bit of a hit. Being unwell didn’t help, but as I’m feeling better now, I’m hoping to do little things to keep myself distracted. I’ve been doing daily workouts, uni work, working from home for my job, and of course blogging! I also find reading very therapeutic and audio books as well if I’m struggling to find the will power to read after a full on day of exam prep. I’ve been trying to do regular pampers so that I feel good about myself as well, and last week my treat from me to me was some new nail stuff! I’ve been isolating at my grandma’s, which means I didn’t have my gel lamp/kit to hand, so I thought I’d give the Revolution brand a go. Here are my thoughts!

The Price and Product

Makeup Revolution is known for being an affordable brand that provides high quality results which is why I thought I’d give their nail products a try. I’m used to gels, but they’re not the best for your nails, so I thought I’d invest in a few products to really help get my nails back into shape ready for me to have my gels on when this is all over. I went for a nice subtle nude/pink colour (called lingerie). I’ve never been one for bright nail colours for some reason, and I tend to stick to pinks/nudes/greys to make sure my nails never clash with my outfits. All the products I bought are below, with the links to purchase:

Makeup Revolution Care and Repair Nail Treatment – £4.00
Makeup Revolution High Gloss Nail Polish (Lingerie) – £4.00
Makeup Revolution Plump and Shine Gel Top Coat – £3.95
Makeup Revolution Nourish and Care Cuticle Oil – £5.00
Total: £16.95

It’s worth noting that the reviews are great and the products sell out really fast, so get buying ASAP if you want a bargain!

How to Apply

So I thought the products were great when I used them! They dry really quickly, and combining some nail treatments was really effective in helping my nails look and feel healthier – I think my favourite was the cuticle oil as it made me feel like a professional haha! Each product is fast drying and doesn’t smudge. However, you can only really do one layer of the lingerie varnish as it starts to peel if you do any more. Luckily, it has a really even finish so it doesn’t matter too much. They’re also quite durable; I’ve had the varnish on since Monday and haven’t had any chipped nails yet which is a result! For what I paid, I think it was worth it. It wasn’t too time consuming because of the fast drying, and I LOVE that it doesn’t smudge – that’s an issue I have with quite a few nail varnishes (FYI avoid Barry M nail varnishes).

Final thoughts? I would say give these products a go! I’m going to invest in a few other colours too so that I can switch it up a bit. I know it might seem pointless because no one will see me anyway, but it’s helping me restore some normality into my life in such an uncertain and unprecedented time.

On that note, I want to make a point of saying again that if you are struggling as I have been, please do feel free to drop me a message. If you feel you need a professional service, I’ve used Samaritans in the past (by calling 116 123) and they were an incredible help. More than ever, it’s essential that we are looking out for each other and keeping ourselves healthy physically AND mentally. Blogging has been a huge help throughout this, so I also owe those who read my posts a huge thank you!

Tomorrow is Friday, and while we may all be losing track of the days right now, let’s try and get that Friday feeling and look forward to the weekend ahead!

Speak soon everyone xxx

Spa Review: Cottonmill at Sopwell House

by Lina Clémence June 11, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I recently escaped all my responsibilities for a spa day and overnight stay at Sopwell House in St Albans and thought it was the perfect thing to re-ignite my blog writing spark for a review. It’s been a while, but if there’s one thing I love to experience and share it would be spa time and treatments.

UK Spa Escape

This was actually my second visit to Sopwell House. I previously visited in 2020 for a two night trip with my husband for our anniversary. We actually only ended up staying one night as the spa was fully booked which meant we couldn’t book any treatments at all so decided to cut it short. However, the spa facilities were gorgeous and I knew I wanted to go back. So when a spa day and escape from mum life was offered up (as a lovely Mother’s Day gift) I jumped at the chance.

I booked the one night spa escape which includes spa access to The Club at Cottonmill as well as the standard Cottonmill spa facilities. Sopwell House has two ‘levels’ of spa – the standard Cottonmill and the Club at Cottonmill. The Club at Cottonmill is the multi-million pound refurb/spa extension that is a spa/private members area. It has top class facilities including beautiful spa gardens, deep relaxation space and whisper rooms. Plus spa gardens, outdoor hot tubs, indoor-outdoor spa pool. Overall it offers two floors of relaxing spa space with steam rooms, saunas and the like. All hotel guests get access to the main pool area (Cottonmill) as standard, but to access the The Club at Cottonmill you need to either pay the extra rate or book as part of your stay package. I believe the extra rate is around £150 for the day, but we’ve always booked packages with it included.

The room rate also included a three course dinner, and breakfast. Spa access is from midday on check in day to 11am on the check out day.

Any treatments are additional cost and I seriously recommend booking well in advance as on our first visit we hadn’t done this and there was no availability at all at check in. In hindsight an obvious error, but having booked the trip on the phone I felt like a heads up to also book spa treatments from the booking staff would have been helpful and good customer service.

This time around I booked a massage treatment, an hour long Aromatherapy Associates muscle relax treatment to try and pummel out all the tension I was holding. Let’s be honest, I needed more than an hour but that hour was great. The therapist did all the right things, talking me through the treatment and asking for pressure preferences and checking comfort levels etc. I can’t fault the treatments experience.

The other area I can’t fault is the changing rooms. It may seem fairly niche but the changing room experience really does tell you a lot about the spa you’re arriving at. The thing that caught my eye? The Dyson hairdryers. I love a Dyson hairdryer, they really are ace and it’s rare but welcome to see them in a communal changing room scenario. The lockers are decent sized and they have a selection of basics on offer for use – deodorant etc. The sort of things you know you need but easily forget. A good touch.

What are the major selling points of the spa?

Well, the Cottonmill spa space is just beautiful, both indoor and outdoor. For the outdoor area, of course the space can only be used in good weather but luckily that was the case and to be fair – when I previously visited in August 2020, we still used the outdoor hot tubs in the rain as no way was I missing out on some of the experience for a bit of bad weather.

There are three outdoor hot tubs, plus a number of outdoor sun lounger and sofa spaces. For a good weather day, there’s a lot of space to be enjoyed. Don’t forget your suncream if you’re planning to spend time outside when visiting.

Indoors, there’s also a fairly decent amount of space. A mixture of day beds, some hanging chairs that look great but not all that comfortable to actually sit on. On our August 2020 visit, they were some of the only options as all other spaces were full. Instagram friendly, not spa-nap friendly.

On this visit, it was much less busy so space to relax wasn’t an issue at all. You can also get drinks brought to your table/bed which is a nice perk. Using a QR code where you can pay using your phone easily.

Where did Sopwell House fall short of expectations?

Overall, the staff were great but there were a couple of issues where it comes to food service. I had three meals at Sopwell House. One in the Greenhouse space, one in the Brasserie and one (breakfast) booked as room service. All three meals took a long time to be served. Something I did raise with the front desk as I checked out. Honestly when it comes to service I always like to be pretty patient with it as long as any delays/issues are communicated but when it happened over and over each time, my patience started to wear thin. My biggest niggle with it was A) Every time I had to chase, when I was waiting 45minutes to an hour for food to be served – no staff realised or checked and B) It was all time I lost from being in the spa!

For additional transparency on my experience: I mentioned I raised the food service delays at checkout – I was told someone would come back to me to follow up. It’s now been two weeks since my stay and nobody has followed up as yet.

No, it’s not the biggest issue but it is something I feel they need to be aware of and look at how they can manage. I was told it was because they had a wedding on. I was also told by the assistant manager they have multiple weddings on every weekend from now until September. So if you’re visiting in that period it’s something to be aware of. As honestly, an hour wait for food to be delivered (especially in scenarios like breakfast where a 15 minute window is selected for the food to arrive – but then it was chased twice and didn’t arrive until an hour later) is longer than I think is acceptable.

ANYWAY. I really don’t want the food service niggles to overshadow the overall positive experience of escaping to a beautiful spa for a relaxing headspace break. The spa really is beautiful, even if some of the wider service issues do let Sopwell House down.

I think having now visited twice, I would perhaps look elsewhere for an overnight spa break and consider the service hiccups if planning food there too. However as a space and treatment wise, it was thoroughly enjoyable. A sunny day at the Cottonmill Spa would be hard to beat. Perhaps one that’s more suited to a day time spa escape than the full overnight stay experience.

How much does Sopwell House Cost?

Cost of overnight spa break: £375

Cost of 60 minute treatment: £115

Additional extras: Around £50 for all additional food and drinks for one person.

All above treatments and costs paid for by myself.

Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 882

by Lina Clémence June 10, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. Loose or fitted t-shirts?

Generally, I like my tees slightly loose-y goose-y if I’m wearing them with jeans or shorts. If I’m layering with a sweater or a sweatshirt on top, then fitted.

2. What’s the oldest thing in your makeup bag right now?

Hmm, the brushes? Oh, and I’m almost embarrassed to say this out loud, but I have an ancient Nordstrom Naturals MAC palette that I bust out every so often.

3. How’s your June going so far?

It’s been very, very busy with end-of-the-year activities, dance things and whatnot. Things will kinda slow down after June 30, which I’m looking forward to.

4. How do you feel about walking around in sandals or flip flops without your toenails painted?

I like my toe nails to be painted a fun color, but I don’t stress if I don’t get around to a weekly pedicure.

5. What are you happy about right now?

Well, today’s my birthday, and I’m overjoyed to say that I’m healthy and I’m alive! Having health scares will do that to ya, I guess. I’m also happy to be surrounded by the people I love the most. Oh, and the opportunity to do something creative that’s just for me (like the Monday poll) is the icing on the cake. I’ve been on the verge of happy tears all day. It’s been a great!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Here are the questions to copy/paste with your answers in a comment. Talk to ya soon.

1. Loose or fitted t-shirts?
2. What’s the oldest thing in your makeup bag right now?
3. How’s your June going so far?
4. How do you feel about walking around in sandals or flip flops without your toenails painted?
5. What are you happy about right now?

MY WARDROBE ESSENTIALS RIGHT NOW

by Lina Clémence June 9, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

FINALLY… my absolute favourite time of year is here in terms of styling outfits. Summer is great and all, I’ll miss being able to spend time in the garden but I definitely will not miss having to have so much skin on show all the time. Is that just me being weird? I hate it. I’m all about the jeans and knitted jumpers! By November we’ll all be complaining about having to wear a huge coat every day because it’s freezing and Spring will seem so far away, but for the next couple of months it’s that perfect in-between weather where we can wear a jumper and no coat, ankle socks with our trainers and we don’t have to layer a thermal vest top under every single outfit. I’m giddy with excitement.

So here are some of the items that I’m excited to wear this Autumn whether that’s just at home, for a walk in the park or for a social distanced meet up with friends. How 2020.

Five out of seven days a week you’ll find me wearing joggers, they’re just so comfortable and practical. But I still want to feel put together and not like I want to crawl back into bed for a midday nap. There’s a whole category of joggers that I’ve discovered this year that are more fitted, made from nicer material and are the perfect in-between of a trouser and a jogger. Paired with a tucked in t-shirt and trainers, it’s my favourite look.

JOGGERS

}
if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {
window.__stp.init();
}
}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

I’m VERY excited for chunky black boot season but we have months of being able to wear them, so for now I’m going to enjoy wearing trainers whilst I still can, my favourite shoe choice. I have an unhealthy trainer addiction but I DO wear them everyday. If you’re a mum, go for a pair with velcro… you can thank me later.

TRAINERS

KNITWEAR

Knitwear for Autumn… ground breaking. But I’m here for it. Sweater weather is the best, whether it’s a cashmere knit, a chunkier knit or a waffle knit (I’m obsessed with waffle knit at the mo). Here’s my edit of the best knits around right now. Side note, I also can’t stop buying waffle knits for Grey (check Zara kids!).

!function(d,s,id){
var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;
if(!d.getElementById(id)) {
e = d.createElement(s);
e.id = id;

Zoella Book Club: Reviewing Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Jenny Bayliss

by Lina Clémence June 8, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Christmas time calls for putting your feet up with a bunch of feel-good fiction, so if you’ve yet to pick your final read of 2022, then put this one on your list asap. Featuring a boarding school reunion, plenty of happily ever afters and a midnight snow croquet in a castle, all set around Christmas time in the British countryside, Jenny Bayliss’ latest novel is sure to get you in the festive spirit. And if you’re looking for a perfectly uplifting, easy-going read for that luxurious stretch of time between Xmas and New Year, otherwise known as Betwixmas, then this one ticks all the boxes!

The gorgeously festive Meet Me Under the Mistletoe is a heartwarming story perfect for curling up next to a roaring fire and embracing what the holiday season is really all about: slothing about the house in Christmas pjs for 5-7 working days.

So, recover from the chaos of shopping, gift-wrapping and rearranging the Christmas tree (relatable), and plonk yourself on the sofa with this fictional cracker and a smorgasbord of Boxing Day leftovers.

Keep reading to find out how team Zoella rated the December read…

The blurb

A winter wedding of old friends should be the event of the year. Gathering near their former school for a lavish, week-long celebration, it’s a chance for Nory Noel to reunite with her best friends. But now in their thirties, that group has long since drifted apart.

Nory suspects she’ll spend the week wrestling into spanx, and dodging questions about her non-existent plus one. Only her fearless, fabulous best friend Ameerah can persuade her to go.

At the venue of a stunning Kent castle, it’s not long before personalities clash and old tensions begin to bubble up. Nory finds herself slipping away – and unexpectedly crashing into Isaac, the castle’s gardener and her former school rival.

Nory and Isaac have more in common these days than they ever thought possible. But as she steals more time away from the festivities to spend with Isaac, he reveals an astonishing secret about his family’s past. Nory knows she alone can help right this wrong – but uncovering the truth might mean pushing Isaac away once more.

Lareese’s Review

Bah humbug alert, I don’t usually gravitate towards fluffy Christmas reads but kudos to Jenny Bayliss because this one has fully surpassed by expectations. It’s so much more than just a predictable festive tale, which I’m all here for if there’s a good story there to go with it. Meet Me Under the Mistletoe is like a modern day Lady Chatterley’s lover, with all the ingredients of a 5-star contemporary read: friends to lovers, interesting friendship dynamics, interesting couple dynamics, high school reunion vibes, the lot! I also loved that Elinor (Nory) owns a bookshop – books about books > books about everything else. In fact, if I owned a secondhand bookshop like Serendipitous Seconds, I too would find it hard to part with my fave precious first editions, just like Nory. MMUTM is a great cosy winter read for this time of year that balances humour with heavy topics such as grief, adultery, classism, racism to name a few, and although not quite as all-out festive as some readers might expect given the title, the snowy castle setting and chef’s kiss cast of characters more than makes up for it. You’ll see!

Rating: 4/5
Would you recommend it? 100% this is the easy breezy December read everyone deserves.

Lily’s Review

Firstly things first, I did not expect this storyline! I was expecting a light, fluffy, cheesy love story. However, it’s so much more than that. Jenny Bayliss writes a beautiful festive story. Expressing how, even during Christmas time, life isn’t a neat little line. It can go up and down in different ways, can shift, and get cut short.

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe takes place around the festive season, but mainly talks about a friendship group dynamic, and how life keeps going even after the loss of someone close. I love these types of storylines, especially during Christmas time. Because it’s a soft reminder that it’s not always an easy, fun, happy time for all. But don’t get me wrong, there is still a warmness to this book that provides that cosy festive coating to make it a hearty breezy read!

A humbling, witty, sad, festive story. Where each chapter was a gift that kept on giving!! I highly recommend it to those out there that loved the Christmas film ‘Last Christmas’ or ‘PS. I Love You’.

Rating: 4/5
Would you recommend it? YES! Such a lovely book, the perfect December read.

Danielle’s Review

This book isn’t Jenny’s first foray into Christmas literature and by god, I hope it’s not her last! This book encapsulated the cosiest Christmas settings like the castle and London, but my favourite has to be Nory’s second-hand book shop. I loved the concept of matchmaking books to customers and I especially enjoyed this aspect as our last Zoella Book Club pick of the year! It really is a joy to pick books we think our audience will enjoy and I hope you’ve been fulfilled and inspired tucking into the ZBC reads in 2022.

This book just captures Christmas perfectly, personally, I’m super close to my family but I know SO many who are not and the way Nori surrounded herself with found family was beautiful. If you love Nancy Meyer’s or Nora Ephron’s movies like You’ve Got Mail then you’ll love this book, completely classic and wonderfully described. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a festive read.

10 Things Not to Miss at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

by Lina Clémence June 6, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

One of my absolute favourite weeks of the year is here at last; Chelsea Flower Show! Years ago, London Fashion Week was one of the most important weeks of the year for me, but how times have changed! Whilst the beautiful gardens and blooms are my focus at the show, I do also love the fashion element of the show; I thoroughly enjoy planning my Chelsea outfits & getting to see the gorgeous outfits other ladies sport at the show. Read on for some of my favourite elements of the show this year, plus some outfit inspiration if you’re attending the show.

1 – Monty Don’s Dog Garden

Monty Don of BBC Gardeners’ World has teamed up with RHS and BBC Radio 2 to create a garden celebrating our love, here in the UK, of both dogs and gardens. This wonderful garden is bursting full of dog-friendly plants, and has a biodiverse lawn rich with daisies, dandelions and clover, which help to make the lawn more hardy against the wear-and-tear from dogs running around. Monty’s own dog Ned, as well as a few of Ned’s relatives were invited to visit the garden on the press day to give the space their doggy seal of approval!

2 – The Highgrove Stall

If you’re visiting the show this year, be sure to stop by the Highgrove stall. Much like The King’s permanent shop in Tetbury, the stall at Chelsea sells a range of beautiful gifts, food & drink, homeware and more. I’d recommend picking up some of the produce from the King’s own garden, such as honey, apple juice and rhubarb gin. All proceeds support the work of The King’s Foundation.

3 – The Avanade Intelligent Garden

Tom Massey & Je Ahn have designed an urban forest garden which aims to highlight the importance of urban trees in combatting climate change, and providing habitats for wildlife within cities. Unfortunately, around 30% of urban trees do not survive their first year, and therefore this garden is equipped with sensors to track the health of the trees, which is connected to an app allowing the trees to alert their custodians via AI if they are being over-watered, for example. Tom & Je have also grown a sustainable house out of mushrooms which I’d definitely recommend taking a look at.

4 – Bamford

The Bamford stand is certainly one of my absolute favourites this year at the show. It has been so thoughtfully designed; with stunning planting, a wonderful range of products, and there’s even a fully-functional bath which wafts the incredible scent of the geranium bath oil throughout the stall. If you’re feeling inspired to pick up any Bamford products, use code JOSIELDN10 for 10% off.

5 – David Austin’s Rose Garden

David Austin’s indoor rose garden is always one of the highlights of Chelsea Flower Show for me. Being surrounded by the delicate scents of the many varieties of rose is just heavenly. It’s also worth popping by to see the newest addition to the collection; The King’s Rose – a gorgeous pink & white striped shrub rose which has shot to the top of my own wishlist!

6 – Horatio’s Garden

Horatio’s Garden is an incredible charity providing gardens to spinal injury units across the UK, to brighten the days of patients dealing with spinal injuries. This year at Chelsea, Horatio’s Garden has a trade stand full of beautiful garden tools and homeware, including their new collection designed by Emma Bridgewater.

7 – Caley Bros Mushrooms

For something a bit different, be sure to check out the immersive display celebrating all things mushroom. The exhibit displays a woodland floor covered in moss and a wide variety of mushrooms thriving in their natural habitat. The stall aims to teach visitors about the importance of mycelial networks in our ecosystems, and about the health benefits of many mushroom varieties.

8 – Food by The Newt

Once again, one of our favourite hotels in the UK; The Newt in Somerset are providing catering for Chelsea Flower Show. The Newt’s food is always of the highest quality, using local and seasonal ingredients where possible. Be sure to pop by for their incredible breakfast buffet to grab a croissant and a coffee to refuel you during the show. The Newt have also partnered with their South African sister farm to bring a dazzling display of unusual succulents to their slice of the show.

9 – Claverton Cloche

If you watch my YouTube Channel, you will have probably spotted the Claverton Cloches dotted around my kitchen garden. Claverton Cloche produce Victorian-inspired garden cloches which are genuinely built to last a lifetime. Hand-crafted from cast iron and horticultural glass, once you invest in a Claverton Cloche, you should never have to replace it. Do pop by their stall to see their cloches displayed within stunning planting done by The Pig.

10 – London Square Chelsea Pensioners Garden

London Square has partnered with the Royal Hospital Chelsea to create an incredible garden for pensioners and veterans to come together to connect with others and to reflect on times of war. The garden features seating upholstered in Pensioners’ scarlet uniforms, and after the show, the garden will be relocated to the grounds of the Royal Hospital.

Current Body RF Radio Frequency Device Review

by Lina Clémence June 5, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Current Body recently got in touch and asked if I would like to try out their RF Radio Frequency Device. I absolutely love skincare tools, with LED masks being my one of my favourites, and so I was keen to try it out. I’d never tried radio frequency before, and didn’t realise it was something you could do at home.

When I try a new skincare tool, I like to really put it though it’s paces and see what results I can achieve, whilst also learning about the technology to try and understand how I can use it to it’s full potential.

What is an RF device?

Current Body’s RF device is described as ‘a non-invasive face lift alternative’, designed to tighten skin, smooth deep lines and sagging skin. With 50% quicker results than any other at home RF device.

BENEFITS

  • Increases Collagen Production
  • Visibly Smooths Lines & Wrinkles
  • Brightens Skin & Reduces Pigmentation
  • Tightens Sagging Skin

I was interested in all of these benefits, but the main two I was going to target was increasing collagen production and lines and wrinkles. I have dry skin on my forehead so I wanted to improve the collagen for hydration and also the wrinkles on the sides.

I’m noticing more the lines at the side of my eyes, so that was another focus and then lastly my elevenses, which I’ve had for as long as I can remember. The girl doing my eyebrows told me I have strong frown muscles, so I don’t have much hope for those lines without botox, but was keen to see how this may help.

Current-Body-RF-Device-3

How Does It Work?

Current Body RF Device has three energy levels which control how intense the radio frequency heating is on the skin. Level 1 is a gentle warmth, which is good for beginners or sensitive areas such as the eyes or neck. Level 2 and 3 are the higher energy levels and will heat up the skin quicker.

Current Body’s exclusive Skin Sense Technology continuously measures skin temperature and automatically adjusts to your skin’s resistance to keep skin at 43°C, which is the optimal temperature for maximum collagen production.

How Often To Use?

The radio frequency device should be used just once a week and with results in 8 weeks. Treatments can then be topped up every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain long-term results. Make sure to use the Current Body Skin Radio Frequency Gel on each treatment area.

Each area takes between 5-10 minutes, and a full face would take around 70 minutes. I did three areas in one go, but you could do an area a day throughout the week to save time.

Inside the booklet there is a guide on how to move the device for each area and how long to use it.

Current-Body-RF-Device-Treatments

Is it easy to use?

I found it very easy to use and quickly realised the ways to get it to work best for me. Slow and steady movements really do win the race, in this case I found using slow movements helped the device reach its optimum temperature (43°C ) quicker and you will know this when the light is a constant green.

I recommended doing your treatments in front of a mirror as you can watch what you are doing and keep an eye on the green light staying constant, as well as when it goes orange, which means a 5 minute treatment time is up.

The device is always plugged in, which saves you having to remember to charge it when you go to use it.

Current-Body-RF-Device

The areas I focused on were my forehead, elevenses and crows feet. The forehead I found trickier to get the heat to stay constant, but increasing it to level 3 was more beneficial for it to do this. As my forehead is more boney I also had to go very, very slow over this area to enable it to stay at the temperature. Crows feet were simple to go over and as this is a sensitive area I stuck to level 1, and then my elevenses I went for level 2, sometimes going up to 3.

To change the level you just click the button on the top, which is then reflected by the light on the front. This is also how you turn it on and off.

Current-Body-RF-Device-Levels

I started off in the beginning with level 1 and just tested out how comfortable I felt in each area with the different levels. The heat is a warm feeling and was never uncomfortable, once you get in the swing of it, it feels quite nice and relaxing.

Just always keep it moving and use the conductive gel, if it feels too much heat then go down a level.

Extra Boost

I also tested out the Current Body microneedling patches, which you can use alongside the RF device, as well as the Current Body LED mask. The patches are infused with hyaluronic acid and have 1140 ultra-fine microneedles that gently create tiny pathways in your skin, enhancing the absorption of the hyaluronic acid and helping to penetrate deeper below the surface for a boost of hydration and glow.

There are forehead and under eye patches which I left on for 2 hours (or you can do overnight) and these gave an instant tightening look. You can then complete your weekly RF treatment which enhances absorption and allows radio frequency energy to work deeper.

Current-Body-Microneedling-Patches

The Current Body LED Mask: Series 2 (10% off with code LDNDIARIES ) is another great option to pair with the RF device and maximise results. It’s my favourite mask on the market and combines red, near-infrared, and deep near-infrared light to help with anti-ageing, and I love that it also covers the chin area—especially useful if you’re using RF treatments around the jawline.

Results

The first time I used it on my forehead I was blown away by how tight my skin looked afterwards. This subsided by the next day, but I was excited to see how it would go as the treatments went on.

After 8 treatments, my elevenses have become less obvious and indented, and the skin in that area looks much more plump. The skin on my forehead was dry and now it feels more hydrated after using the RF device.

Elevenses-before-and-after-pic-RF

I saw a significant difference on just week 3 of my crow’s feet, the dehydration lines seemed much better when I smiled and were less prominent. By week 8 the skin overall was looking more hydrated and the lines aren’t as obvious. Looking at my pictures I’d also say there is less pigmentation than I had to start with.

Crows-Feet-before-and-after-pic

I never did consistent treatments on my jaw and smile lines, however I did try it out in those areas and again like the first time, I could see an instant difference afterwards. I will continue on with the smile lines, as I feel them more prominent when wearing powder make-up and think this will work as well as it did on the other areas I tried.
