Zara Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette Review

by Lina Clémence June 15, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Zara Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette Review: Imagine a fragrance that feels like a warm embrace on a chilly evening, a scent that wraps you in layers of sweetness, warmth, and sophistication. Zara’s Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette is exactly that—a perfume that celebrates the art of indulgence. With its rich, warm dessert-like aroma, this fragrance is perfect for those who love to make a statement with their scent.

Whether you’re heading to a cozy dinner date or simply want to feel luxurious on an ordinary day, Gourmand Addict promises to be your perfect companion. But does it live up to its name? In this detailed review, we’ll explore every facet of this fragrance, from its intoxicating scent profile to its performance on the skin. Let’s dive into the world of Gourmand Addict and discover what makes it so addictive.

About

According to Zara’s official website, Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette is a fragrance that “combines the sweetness of caramel with the intensity of vanilla and the freshness of mandarin orange.” It’s described as a warm, sensual, and addictive scent that’s perfect for those who love gourmand fragrances. The perfume comes in a 90 ml bottle, making it a generous addition to your fragrance collection.

The fragrance is part of Zara’s Gourmand line, which is known for its edible-inspired scents. It’s designed to evoke feelings of comfort, indulgence, and joy, making it a popular choice for everyday wear.

How to Use

Using Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette is simple and straightforward. Here’s how to make the most of this fragrance:

  1. Spray on Pulse Points: Apply the perfume to your wrists, neck, and behind the ears. These areas generate heat, which helps to diffuse the scent throughout the day.
  2. Layer for Intensity: If you want a more intense fragrance experience, pair it with other products from the Gourmand line, such as the body mist or lotion.
  3. Avoid Over-Application: A little goes a long way with this fragrance. Start with 1-2 sprays and add more if needed.
  4. Reapply as Needed: While the fragrance has decent staying power, you can reapply it throughout the day to keep the scent fresh.

Price

Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette is priced at:

  • USD: $29.90 (90 ml / 3.04 fl oz)
  • Euros: Approximately €25.90 (varies by region)
  • AED: Approximately 110 AED
  • INR: Approximately ₹2,500

The price may vary depending on promotions, discounts, or regional availability. Zara often offers discounts, so keep an eye out for deals!

My Experience

Packaging and First Impressions

The Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette comes in a sleek, minimalist bottle with a golden cap and a transparent glass body. The design is elegant yet understated, reflecting Zara’s signature style. The bottle feels sturdy and luxurious, and the spray nozzle dispenses the fragrance evenly. While the packaging is simple, it’s functional and travel-friendly, making it easy to carry in your bag.

Fragrance: A Sweet Symphony

The moment I sprayed Gourmand Addict, I was greeted with a burst of sweetness that felt like stepping into a patisserie. The fragrance is warm, inviting, and utterly indulgent. It’s the kind of scent that makes you feel instantly happy and comforted.

What Does Zara Gourmand Addict Smell Like?

Gourmand Addict is a quintessential gourmand fragrance, designed to evoke the aroma of delicious desserts. Here’s a breakdown of its scent profile:

  • Top Notes: The fragrance opens with the zesty freshness of mandarin orange, which adds a bright, citrusy touch to the sweetness.
  • Middle Notes: As the scent settles, the heart reveals the rich, creamy aroma of caramel. This is where the fragrance truly shines, offering a decadent, dessert-like experience.
  • Base Notes: The dry-down is warm and sensual, with the smooth, comforting scent of vanilla and a hint of musk in a powdery background.

The sillage (the trail the fragrance leaves) is moderate, making it noticeable without being overpowering. It’s perfect for close encounters and intimate settings. The lasting power is decent, with the scent lingering for about 4-6 hours on my skin. However, on clothes, it lasts much longer, sometimes even until the next day.

Texture and Application

The fragrance is light and airy, making it easy to apply and layer. It doesn’t feel heavy or cloying, which is a common issue with gourmand fragrances. The spray nozzle works smoothly, delivering just the right amount of product with each use.

Performance on Skin

On my skin, Gourmand Addict develops beautifully, with each layer of the scent unfolding gradually. The citrusy top notes give way to the creamy caramel, which then blends seamlessly into the warm vanilla base. The fragrance feels cozy and comforting, making it perfect for colder months or evening wear.

Results and Longevity

While the scent is delightful, its longevity could be better. On my skin, it lasts for about 4-6 hours, which is decent but not exceptional. However, on clothes, it performs much better, lasting well into the next day.

Ingredients Breakdown

While Zara doesn’t disclose the full list of ingredients, the key notes—mandarin orange, caramel, and vanilla—are clearly highlighted. These ingredients are carefully balanced to create a fragrance that’s sweet but not overwhelming, warm but not heavy.

Zara Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette Review MBF blog

Pros

Based on reviews from Zara’s website, Fragrantica, Amazon, and other platforms, here are the standout pros of Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette:

  1. Affordable Luxury: High-quality fragrance at an affordable price.
  2. Delicious Scent: Perfect for gourmand lovers, with its sweet, dessert-like aroma.
  3. Versatile: Suitable for both casual and formal occasions.
  4. Elegant Packaging: Simple yet sophisticated design.
  5. Moderate Sillage: Noticeable without being overpowering.
  6. Long-Lasting on Clothes: Stays fresh on fabrics for hours.

Cons

While the fragrance has many positives, there are a few downsides to consider:

  1. Average Longevity on Skin: Lasts only 4-6 hours on the skin.
  2. Not for Everyone: The sweetness may be too much for those who prefer fresh or floral scents.
  3. Limited Availability: Often out of stock due to high demand.

Advises

Here are some tips to make the most of Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette:

  1. Layer with Matching Products: Use the body mist or lotion from the Gourmand line to enhance the fragrance’s longevity.
  2. Apply to Clothes: Spraying it on your clothes can help the scent last longer.
  3. Use in Moderation: A little goes a long way, so avoid over-spraying.
  4. Store Properly: Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place to preserve the fragrance.

Rating

After considering all aspects, I would give Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette a 4 out of 5 stars. While the scent is delightful and the price is reasonable, the average longevity on the skin prevents it from being a perfect score.

Final Thoughts

Zara’s Gourmand Addict Eau de Toilette is a rich, sweet, indulgent fragrance that’s perfect for those who love gourmand scents. Its warm, dessert-like aroma is comforting and luxurious, making it a great choice for everyday wear or special occasions. While it may not last as long as some high-end perfumes, its affordability and delicious scent make it a worthy addition to your collection. So, if you’re looking for a fragrance that feels like a warm hug, Gourmand Addict might just be your new obsession.

Friday Treat : The Dress Five Ways

by Lina Clémence June 15, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

You know those heavy and heady sunny days where every single item of clothing feels too much on your skin? This dress – in five options – from H&M is the least amount of clothes you can decently wear (add bra and knickers as your own preference) and be seen in public. It’s this same dress that can take you to Tesco to stock up on ice as well as it can take you to the shore to dip your toes in the sea.

In a blend of 81% viscose and 19% polyamide, it’s going to catch any welcome wisp of a breeze and look gently floaty. The frills are dropped so the effect will be sleek and streamlined rather than puffy.

Personally, the blue option is my favourite – I think I might, if it’s not one of those stifling city days, wear a racer back white t-shirt underneath. Otherwise, I’ll just be flopping about in the garden with Dora seeking shade and drinking the coldest drink I can find.

For £27.99, in sizes XS to 4XL I feel like it’s an absolute snip – don’t forget if it’s too long you can fray the hem which would look great with flip flops and a bright orange/red polish on your toes. A wide brimmed hat, a pair of sunglasses and a glass of rose are the only accessories to consider. It’s HERE. I am wearing a size M (no bra and my yoga tracky bottoms underneath – reason 8,550 why I’m not a fashion influencer) – I’m 5ft 3 so you can see the length is fine and it’s adjustable at the straps – I think this dress can finish anywhere and still look ok. My bust size is a D and if I’d had more time I would have tried on the L as well for a bit more of a streamlined fall.

My Makeup Issues: March/April 2025 Empties

by Lina Clémence June 15, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Welcome to another empties post with mini reiews! I didn’t have a ton of empties in March so I lumped them together with April’s. Let’s dive in!

Cerave Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser (Removes Makeup) – This was by far one of my best finds back in 2023. The fact that it is easy to get (any drug store) and is reasonably priced is fantastic. This cleanser is very hydrating, gentle, does not play with my skin barrier and removes my makeup including eye makeup! Makes my skin so clean! I tend to use this only at night but I think you could use it in the morning too if you want. Already repurchased. This is easily in my Top 5 cleansers.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla Beige and Iced Coffee – I got a mini set of 4 of these last Fall during the Sephora sale. I bought them as I wanted to try a variety of scents and colours. The Iced Coffee one grew on me quickly and I would repurchase that scent no problem. The Vanilla Beige was ok. I really like Summer Fridays lip butter balms and although I wished they lasted longer on the lips, I think they are one of the best lip balms you can get on the market. I have already repurchased a regular sized tube in Birthday Cake and will be reviewing that one for you shortly.

The Inkey List Supersolutions 10% Azelaic Acid Serum –
This product has been a lifesaver for my rosacea. I have already repurchased. Can’t live without it now. This is a
must have for anyone with rosacea and the beauty is you can layer it with other
serums. I highly recommend using it twice a day for full effectiveness. I am not sure how many of these I have gone through now but I will be buying it likely forever.

Sol de Janeiro Rio Deo Refill in Brazilian Jasmine & Pink Dragonfruit – I quite like
this deodorant and have gone through a few of these already. I am starting to get confused with all of the scents. I think I like the original one the best. The refills never seem to sit right in the containers and the temporary lids are awful. All that being said, I do like this product and have repurchased. I would’nt say it is workout appropriate, you would need something stronger but
it’s great for day to day.

AOA Studio Super Soft PawPaw Wonder Blender – I don’t care what anyone says, these sponges are far inferior to the Beautyblender. I don’t find these to be as porous as the Beautyblender and therefore product tends to sit on top of the sponge and slide around more. You don’t get as good of a blend. Also, I find these dry weird and can get moldy after a bit which I never had happen with the Beautyblender. Since I bought a bag of 6 I will use them up but then it’s back to spending good money on Beautyblenders again and I am ok with that.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry – I really enjoy a lot of these Laneige Lip Sleeping Masks and I have to say that the Berry scent is by far the best scent from their regular line. In general, I tend to prefer some of their limited edition scents. Already repurchased in a few other scents.

Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion – I bought this a long time ago online from the U.S. At the time, I couldn’t find it here in Canada. I was starting to get some dry patches on my hands in winter and this was recommended by a beauty influencer that I follow. It did seem to work well and I think I had two bottles of them and this was the second one. First one is long finished. I hadn’t used it in awhile. I noticed it was nearly empty so I decided recently to use it up. If this was readily available, I might repurchase, but I don’t think it is. I also think other creams have come onto the market in recent years that are better so I would likely buy those first.

Aveeno
Restorative Skin Therapy Repairing Cream
– This was one of the best Aveeno
lotions that I have tried and let me tell you, they are not all created equal. I
really liked this cream and I will likely repurchase.

Caudalie
Hand & Nail Repairing Cream in The des Vignes (The Vines?)
– I got a set of
3 of these in a Holiday Set a year and a half ago. I have used up 2 of them so
far and am on my 3rd and final one. I really liked this hand cream
and I will be repurchasing once I have used up the last one I have. It’s great
to throw into your purse and I do find that it moisturizes both my nails and my
hands well.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix – First thing I have to mention is that the wand inside broke off very quickly and I had to use a Q-tip to get the product out. That was disappointing. This s a sample size though so the packaging was not going to be stellar. I think the product was nice enough. It was soothing on the eyes and I think I may have looked a bit more refreshed when I woke up after wearing it overnight. I didn’t really notice it doing anything for my dark circles in general though. It is an expensive product so not sure I will purchase it in the future, but I won’t rule it out.

Makeup by Mario Moistureglow Plumping Lip Serum in Rosewood Glow – I got this as a Sephora birthday gift along with a lip liner from the same brand. I liked the colour, but I think it is more of a autumn shade so I wouldn’t rush to wear it in spring or summer. Even though this is a minty plumping product and not terribly tingly, I really detest plumpers and as a general rule, will not buy them. I don’t need them and I don’t care for the sensation. It was a decent product, but since it is a plumper, I will not buy it. The packing was awful and the inner tube would not retract if you turned it up too high. Since this was sample, I don’t know if the regular sized tube would be the same.

Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream x2 – I thought I only had 1 of these sample jars, but somehow I had two and was using them simultaneously. Part of my confusion was that I have the same sized jar by the same company with face cream in it. Anyway, I managed to finish both of the eye creams recently. I didn’t find it was any better than any of the other eye creams I have used and it did didley squat for my dark circles. Some days, I even found it burned a little so I had to be careful to not place it too high up under my eye. Would not repurchase, but I love the glass jar and will be reusing it for travel with another product in it.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream– This is my ride or die. I’ve spoken about this at length so will spare you all. Already repurchased.

I already have my May empties piling up so should be back soon with more mini reviews.

Sleeping Mask Terbaik Bikin Kulit Plump & Glowing Dalam Semalam Dengan Camellique Aqua Spa | ELIN IVANA

by Lina Clémence June 14, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Kenapa tadi aku bilang higenis?

How to Glow All Summer Without Breaking Out

by Lina Clémence June 14, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Summer is often hailed as the season of vitality — full of beach days, long sunshine-filled afternoons, and that undeniable sense of freedom that makes us want to look and feel our best. But while you may be basking in the warmth and brightness, your skin is dealing with a new set of seasonal challenges. Rising temperatures, increased humidity, stronger UV rays, and outdoor pollution all combine to make summer one of the most taxing seasons for your skin.

To truly enjoy a glow all summer, your skincare routine needs a shift — one that addresses these concerns while emphasising protection, hydration, and radiance. This guide offers a complete seasonal skincare roadmap, helping you navigate every step of your routine to maintain fresh, glowing skin throughout the summer months.

Understanding What Summer Does to Your Skin

Our skin adapts constantly, and summer demands rapid, intense adjustments. Heat prompts your sebaceous glands to produce more oil, often leading to greasy skin, enlarged pores, and breakouts. Simultaneously, exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays accelerates signs of ageing such as fine lines, pigmentation, and dryness. Even in high humidity, your skin can become dehydrated due to water loss from sweat and the drying effects of air conditioning.

This combo of oiliness, dehydration, and UV exposure makes it crucial to rethink your skincare approach. Ignoring these changes can result in a dull, uneven complexion, breakouts, and long-term damage. By tailoring your regimen to the demands of the season, you protect your skin’s health and amplify its natural glow.

Cleanse with Care: Starting Fresh Every Day

Cleansing your skin becomes especially important during summer. Sunscreen, sweat, excess oil, and pollution accumulate quickly and, if not removed, can clog pores and dull your complexion. Morning and evening cleansing are essential, with an emphasis on gentle formulas that effectively clean without stripping your skin.

For oily or combination skin types, a gel or foaming cleanser with ingredients like salicylic acid, green tea, or tea tree oil can reduce excess oil while preserving the skin barrier. Those with dry or sensitive skin should opt for creamy cleansers featuring soothing ingredients such as chamomile, aloe vera, or oat extract.

Incorporating double cleansing in the evening can also make a dramatic difference. Start with an oil-based cleanser to dissolve makeup and sunscreen, then follow up with a water-based cleanser to remove residue and impurities.

Sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

A molecule that binds water to the skin, helping it stay hydrated.

Types of chemical exfoliants that remove dead skin cells

Products formulated not to clog pores.

Sun Protection Factor, indicating how long you can stay in the sun without burning.

Exfoliation: Revealing the Glow Beneath

Exfoliating your skin one to two times per week during summer helps keep your complexion clear, smooth, and radiant. The buildup of sweat, sunscreen, and sebum can lead to clogged pores, but regular exfoliation removes dead skin cells and improves the efficacy of other skincare products.

Choose chemical exfoliants like AHAs (glycolic acid or lactic acid) for surface-level exfoliation and BHAs (such as salicylic acid) to clean deeper within the pores. These acids gently dissolve bonds between dead skin cells without the risk of microtears caused by physical scrubs.

If you prefer physical exfoliants, opt for those with rounded, biodegradable particles like jojoba beads or finely ground oatmeal to avoid irritation. Always follow up with a good moisturiser and sunscreen, as exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to UV rays.

Hydration: The Unsung Hero of Summer Skincare

Contrary to popular belief, even oily skin types need hydration — especially in summer. When your skin is dehydrated, it may produce even more oil to compensate, leading to a vicious cycle of greasiness and breakouts. Hydration is key to achieving plump, smooth, and glowing skin.

Swap out heavy winter creams for lightweight, water-based moisturisers. Gel formulations with hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or squalane absorb quickly and don’t clog pores. Those with dry or mature skin can layer a hydrating serum under a light moisturiser to maintain moisture levels throughout the day.

Facial mists are another summer essential. Keep one in your bag to refresh your skin and give it a burst of hydration whenever you’re out in the sun or stuck in an air-conditioned space. Look for mists that contain rose water, cucumber extract, or aloe vera for cooling and calming effects.

Sunscreen: Your Skin’s Best Defence

No summer skincare guide would be complete without stressing the importance of sunscreen. UV rays are responsible for up to 80% of visible ageing signs — from fine lines to sunspots. Sunscreen is not optional; it’s the one product you must wear every single day.

Look for broad-spectrum protection with an SPF of at least 30. Mineral sunscreens, which contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, are ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Chemical sunscreens, which use active ingredients like avobenzone or octinoxate, offer sheer, invisible protection ideal for everyday wear under makeup.

Apply sunscreen generously on all exposed areas at least 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapplication is crucial — every two hours or after swimming and sweating. Using sunscreen sticks, sprays, or powders can make touch-ups more convenient on the go.

Post-Sun Care: Repair and Replenish

Even with diligent sun protection, your skin may need extra care after a day in the sun. Cooling, calming products help reduce inflammation, replenish moisture, and prevent long-term damage.

After-sun lotions and gels that include ingredients like aloe vera, cucumber, calendula, or panthenol can soothe irritation and redness. A chilled sheet mask with hyaluronic acid or green tea can also offer immediate relief and hydration. Avoid hot showers, which can exacerbate dryness and irritation; instead, opt for lukewarm or cool water.

  • UV rays can penetrate windows, meaning sunscreen is important even indoors if you’re near natural light.

  • Your lips are susceptible to sunburn — use a lip balm with SPF 15 or higher

  • Wearing sunglasses helps prevent squinting, which can contribute to crow’s feet over time.

  • Sweat doesn’t cause acne directly — it’s when it mixes with bacteria and makeup that problems arise.

Lighten Up: Summer Makeup Essentials

Makeup in summer should enhance your glow, not suffocate your skin. Heavy foundations and powders can melt in the heat and clog pores. Instead, embrace a more breathable approach.

Switch to tinted moisturisers, BB creams, or CC creams with built-in SPF. Cream-based blushes and bronzers deliver a natural sun-kissed finish and blend seamlessly into the skin. A light sweep of translucent powder on the T-zone can help control shine without looking cakey. Lip and cheek tints, balmy highlighters, and waterproof mascaras round out a summer-ready beauty look.

Eat and Drink for Radiance

Great skin isn’t just about what you put on it — it’s also about what you consume. Staying hydrated by drinking at least two liters of water a day helps maintain elasticity and flush out toxins. For a flavour twist, try infusing your water with citrus slices, berries, or mint.

Your summer diet should include skin-loving foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and hydration. Watermelon, cucumber, and oranges are packed with water and essential nutrients. Berries, tomatoes, and leafy greens provide antioxidants that help fight free radicals generated by sun exposure.

Lifestyle Tweaks That Support Your Skin

Quality sleep, regular exercise, and stress management are all part of a comprehensive skincare routine. Exercise boosts circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the skin. Adequate sleep allows your skin time to repair and regenerate. Meanwhile, mindfulness practices like yoga or meditation can lower stress hormones that contribute to breakouts and inflammation. Be mindful of clothing choices as well. Opt for breathable, loose-fitting fabrics in light colours to avoid skin irritation and overheating. Sunglasses and wide-brimmed hats add an extra layer of protection, especially around the delicate eye area.

Conclusion: Embrace the Glow

Summer is a time to embrace joy, warmth, and outdoor living — but it’s also when your skin needs you the most. With the right adjustments, your skincare can work with the season rather than against it. Cleanse gently, hydrate consistently, protect fiercely, and nourish both inside and out. Follow these steps, and you’ll not only survive the summer — you’ll glow through it.

How often should I reapply sunscreen during summer?

Reapply every two hours, and immediately after swimming or sweating.

Can I skip moisturiser if my skin is oily in the summer?

No. Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser to maintain hydration and balance oil production.

Is exfoliating more than twice a week bad for my skin?

Yes. Over-exfoliation can damage your skin barrier and cause sensitivity.

What is the best way to soothe a sunburn?

Use aloe vera gel, cool compresses, and avoid further sun exposure. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Do I need to use a separate SPF if my makeup has it?

Yes. Makeup with SPF is not enough on its own. Apply sunscreen underneath your makeup for full protection.

Natural Makeup For Work (Video Tutorial)

by Lina Clémence June 14, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Is that how my face look like 0_0

Can’t believe I actually filmed my first makeup tutorial in 2.5 years.

I’ve been away THAT long, always wanted to come back and make more makeup/beauty videos, but just never know when I can do it. I thought it would be a lot more smashing and exciting, but it was just like any other day in reality.

I have not reached that state where I dreamed of reaching – silky smooth, hydrated and problem free skin – I now question if perfection is actually achievable. Nonetheless, I am at a state where I’m happy with what I currently have, and have accepted it to be part of me (still working on it, but I’m doing so well now!). It’s so strange to see myself in makeup again after so long. I’ve grown to really like my own face without makeup, and with some makeup on, it adorns my face so beautifully. It makes me feel great to be able to put makeup on once again!

So with the blemish and flaws that are still present on my skin, I present to you this makeup look which is one of the looks I’ve been wearing to work the past 2 months.
It’s understated, natural, no perceivable eyeliner that set off alarms in most people’s eyes.
I love how easy it is, I can put this look together within 15 minutes in the morning rush hour :’D If I don’t mess up my brows that is. And I normally don’t, so I don’t know why I messed it up during recording!

This is the complete eye look, just really minimal. It looks even less obvious in video because the camera washes out some of the colour. In real life, it gives myself beautiful and natural looking depth. Indiscernible to the untrained eyes.

THE PRODUCTS

  1. E.L.F. Perfect Finish HD Powder
  2. KATE Mineral Powder Foundation (OC-C)
  3. AVENE Very High Protection Cream SPF50+
  4. CANMAKE Mat Fleur Cheeks (04)
  5. KATE Brown Shade Eyes (BR-6)
  6. REVLON Matte Balm (225 Sultry) (Review and swatches here)
  7. MAYBELLINE Volum’ Express The Magnum Waterproof
  8. KATE Lash Maximizer White
  9. INNISFREE Auto Eyebrow Pencil (03 Grey)

Compared to my old looks, this look has a lot less products, right? That’s mostly because I just started getting back into wearing makeup recently, and I am really cautious this time. I don’t want to put on too much just in case it might irritate my skin. So I start with very little products, and slowly add more to it if I want to. Who knows, maybe a few months down the road, the number of products I use will increase exponentially, trying to squeeze every single product from the new releases onto my face all at the same time? Hahaha!

The brushes I used are all from REAL TECHNIQUES (not TRUE TECHNIQUES hahaha). The purple brushes are from their Eye Makeup Starter Kit. Looks like the recently revamped it, kept the brushes the same and changed the case that comes with it (now grey instead of black!).

I’ve actually been looking at getting a new lash curler, but my old KOJI No.73 is still working fine.. Just need to change the rubber lining every so often because it does break apart, which affects the curl that I can get. Speaking of which, it’s time I change to a new rubber lining.

As for the makeup brush cleaning sponge, I bought the sponge from a store that sells household products, cut it to fit the cute tin case my aunt gave me and it’s done. Really handy for cleaning the brushes in between different colours, especially when going from dark to light shades. The excess powder collects at the bottom which I then clean out once in a while. Time to wash the sponge soon, it’s getting brown!

All in all, I am really glad I can do this again. Even though this gratitude is an afterthought, I still want to note it down. It really helps to reflect upon all that have happened in my life and to count my blessings. Even though things aren’t exactly at where I want them to be, I’m still rejoicing at how far I’ve come, and how much improvements I’ve experienced. I will continue to keep my body, mind, and skin healthy, and hope to bring more videos with you all.

And now, the video tutorial.

My Review

My Review of The Glossier Lip Glaze
My Review of The Glossier Lip Glaze

Texture & Formula: Creamy with a Fresh Mint Kick

The first thing you notice when applying Glossier Lip Glaze is the texture. It’s creamy yet lightweight, giving lips that smooth, balmy cushion without any of the tackiness that can ruin a good gloss.

There’s a definite minty tingle, which feels cooling and fresh but never overwhelming. It’s that perfect middle ground between invigorating and comfortable. If you’re sensitive to mint, don’t worry, it’s not a stinger, just a subtle cooling effect. If you hate mint, it’s worth noting that the minty feeling is quite long lasting, so these may not be for you.

Shades & Sheerness: Easy to Wear Everyday Tints

Each shade in the Lip Glaze range is incredibly sheer, which makes them super flattering and versatile. These aren’t bold pigment-heavy glosses. They’re sheer washes that enhance your natural lip tone and layer over liner or lipstick if you want more punch.

Featured Shade: “Icy”: A Nostalgic Favourite

Icy is the pale blue-toned clear gloss that has my heart. It immediately reminded me of the first-ever gloss I bought from Benefit years ago. It was a translucent gloss that promised to make your teeth look whiter. That one’s been long discontinued, but “Icy” brings back all that glossy nostalgia in a modern, hydrating formula.

Though it looks blue in the tube, it applies mostly clear, adding a subtle cool tone. A great throwback moment for me!

Finish & Wear: Glossy, Plumping Look Without Stickiness

The finish is plump, juicy, and glassy. There’s no shimmer just a jelly-like shine that wears well for a gloss. It does fades after eating or drinking but reapplication is quick and easy, and actually feels good because it boosts hydration each time you swipe it on.

Hydration & Comfort: Like Skincare for Lips

If your lips are often dry but you hate sticky formulas, Glossier Lip Glaze is a win. It feels moisturising without slipping off, and while it doesn’t replace your lip balm entirely, it definitely adds a hydrating layer throughout the day.

I’d say it feels more like a gloss than a lip oil, but still manages to keep the lips feeling soft.

Who Should Try It?

Glossier Lip Glaze is perfect for anyone who wants a subtle, wearable gloss with a bit of extra care built in. It’s not for those looking for bold pigment, but if you love a “your lips but better” vibe with a fresh twist, this is it.

If you are looking for something more on the budget end, that also leaves a stain on the lips, check out NYX Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Stain Review and Swatches.

Where to buy it

Glossier Lip Glaze is £22 for 8ml and it’s available now via the links below:

Your Holiday Headquarters: Shoppers Drug Mart 2021

by Lina Clémence June 14, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

December has always been one of the busiest times of the year for my family. From birthdays to Holiday gatherings, we’re always on the go and balancing multiple priorities. In the blink of an eye, the month comes and goes and the New Year becomes our new norm. So, it’s not surprising that my Holiday shopping doesn’t even start until the tree is up. Even then, it’s usually a three week mad scramble leading up to Christmas.

Every year, my shopping starts with a trip to Shoppers Drug Mart. I’ve picked up fragrances, video games, gift cards and so much more for family and friends while collecting PC Optimum points. Most locations also have an incredible Beauty Boutique where you can stock up on everything you need to look fierce and fabulous for the Holidays. Check out my 2020 gift guide here in case you missed it and keep reading for some amazing gift ideas for every budget and anyone on your Holiday list.

For the makeup enthusiast on your list, the limited edition QUO Brush Sets are always a great idea. The brushes are amazing quality and the kits come in different price points. This year, the “All the Glam” Brush Set really caught my eye and is already wrapped and sitting under my tree for that special someone. It’s a great set that includes six synthetic brushes and a portable tin for only $20-25.

Another great gift find this year was the Head to Toe Glow Masking Kit ($18) by Life Brand. The mask collection is formulated to provide ultimate indulgence and is great for men and women of any age! It includes seven revitalizing mask treatments that leave skin feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and restored while providing a brighter, more glowing complexion. This would make such a great unisex Secret Santa gift!

I love recommending the Fragrance Discovery Collection & Certificate that Shoppers Drug Mart launches every year because it allows you to try multiple mini-sized fragrances, and use the certificate included to cash in for a full size of your favourite scent. If you know your loved ones’ signature scent or what they’re hoping to see under the tree though, Shoppers has a wide assortment of scent options at every price point. Pictured below is Very Good Girl by Carolina Herrera ($168), a popular EDP for 2021 but if my family is reading this Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium is my all-time favourite 😉

From chocolate to lip balm, costume jewelry and even toiletries, the stocking stuffer selection at Shoppers Drug Mart is endless. Just get your loved ones what they use and love everyday! I’ve been loving the Remedy Masks ($34) by Pixi Beauty. These masks have single handedly revitalized and helped to calm my winter parched skin and deserve a special shout out because I don’t see them getting enough hype online. Available in three different varieties (Rose, Milky & Vitamin C), each generously sized tub comes with its own spoon-style spatula and is an absolute treat for anyone looking to kick start their skincare routine in the New Year.

Shoppers Drug Mart also has wonderful gadgets to give and get! Things like the Nintendo Switch, Philips Sonicare One Electric Toothbrush, Beats Wireless Headphones and the Double Barrel Total Body Massager ($140) pictured below.

Happy Shopping & Happy Holidays!

Skincare natural & vegan untuk menghempas jerawat – mytipscantik.com

by Lina Clémence June 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

A lot has changed since I started yet my passion for writing is always there.. Walaupun kadang terkubur oleh rasa mager, but oh boy it feels good to write!

Bingung akutu mau review nya gimana…

So this brand is so freakin CLEAN buat kalian penganut green beauty YOU WILL LOVE IT, entah kenapa jarang yang review padahal filosofi brand ini bagus sekali dan bukan hanya embel-embel nya saja, they’re honestly THAT CLEAN. they don’t test on animals or use animals derivative ingredient (VEGAN & CRUELTY FREE) dan tidak mengandung parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy or GMOs.  On top of that, their packaging is 100% recyclable.

Jadi kalo kita ngomongin brand skincare natural dan tidak menganut seluruh filosofi yang aku sebutin diatas tadi seperti Derma E, then I’m sorry to say that natural label is just a marketing gimmick. Karena jujur aja, aku banyak nyobain brand skincare yang katanya green beauty tapi ilfeel pas lihat ingredients list nya… Simple nya gini, kaya kalian masuk ke restoran makanan sehat tapi pas ngintip cara masaknya pake micin. Paham gak?

Ok… lanjut Very Clear Series…

Biasanya skincare untuk kulit jerawatan itu bikin kulit jadi kering banget sampe mau pake makeup pun males soalnya jadi gak rata dan susah nempel nah tapi rangkaian ini sungguh MEJIK karena selama pemakaian aku masih tetep bisa pake makeup and at the same time treat my acne!

Very Clear Cleanser

Pastinya  setiap rangkaian skincare harus diawali dengan kulit yang bersih, finding a good face wash is tricky.

Very Clear Scrub

Very Clear Moisturizer

My personal favorite!

How Tracey Cunningham Colored 17 Stars’ Hair For The Oscars

by Lina Clémence June 13, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Very few people can say they were as busy as Tracey Cunningham last week. Leading up to the Academy Awards, the celebrity colorist worked with 20 clients in a five day sprint. There was Amy Poehler, who walked the Oscars’ stage in a Cunningham dye-job as she presented two Academy Awards. There was also Emma Stone, who got a last-minute touch-up in her hotel room the night before. In between, Cunningham visited Kris Jenner, J.Lo, Lindsay Lohan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The Mèche Salon founder and Omi chief innovation officer took us through her whirlwind week—from her many appointments, Erewhon pitstops, and the coffee combo that powered her 4AM wake-up calls, below.

Wednesday, February 26
Some mornings are meant for slow, luxurious wake-ups. This was not one of them. My alarm went off at 7AM—later than usual, but justifiable. The night before, I’d been at Nicole Richie’s for a house call, which meant I allowed myself the rare indulgence of sleeping in. But now I needed coffee, so I made my usual: Danger coffee (organic and mold-free) laced with Garden of Life MCT oil (for brain health).

At 9AM sharp, my assistant Burke arrived ready for the day ahead. We picked up Ashley, my other assistant, at the Calabasas Erewhon, where I ordered a Brainstorm smoothie with extra protein. Because mornings should always come with a little kick, I added a shot of espresso.

Then we were off. Destination: Montecito, to see the one and only Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Highlights, lowlights, base. Afterward, she suggested Bettina for lunch, but life had other plans in the form of a “Closed” sign.

Before heading to Merci, we made a quick stop at Doên, where I fell in love with (and obviously bought) the most perfect navy blue cashmere sweater. There’s something about a good cashmere sweater that makes the day feel instantly better.

At Merci, I had the most perfect red lentil soup, chicken, and chicory salad. And because I am who I am, I also had an iced matcha, no milk. After I ate, I took my Omi hair growth peptide capsules because if I’m committed to anything, it’s good hair. They’ve given me stronger, healthier, and fuller hair since I started taking them a few months ago.

We arrived at Anastasia Soare’s house at 6:15PM. Yes, that’s the eyebrow queen herself. Everything about her home was effortlessly elegant, as you’d expect. She made delicious decaffeinated tea and served it in Hermès teacups. Her Shark Speed Style caught my eye, and because Anastasia is Anastasia, she simply handed me an extra one.

Our last stop of the day was with Jennifer Lopez. We did her base and then balayage highlights—just enough to brighten up her signature honey-dark locks. After we rinsed, I applied Olaplex No. 4 shampoo and No. 1 Bond Multiplier [Ed. note: only sold to salons for professional use! No. 3 is similar and formulated for at-home use] and she hopped in the shower. Just like that, our job was done.

By 10, I was home. No scrolling. No late-night distractions. Just bed. Because at 4AM, my alarm would go off again, and at 6AM, Kris Jenner would be waiting.

Thursday, February 27
There’s something about waking up before the world does that feels almost cinematic—if only I weren’t so groggy when it happened. I made my Danger coffee with a dash of OMI Skin Matrix peptides [Ed. note: not available yet] because collagen doesn’t maintain itself, and another splash of my MCT oil. Feeling a little depleted before the day had even begun, I took a salt bath with Saint Jane Deep Sleep bath salts and a generous pour of Kneipp arnica bath oil—it does wonders. Then, at precisely 5AM, Burke arrived, and off we went to Calabasas to see Kris. She got Schwarzkopf Igora Royal at the base and Vibrance on the ends. And then Kris got a blowout, as always, with the Olaplex blow dry mist.

Afterwards, while making our way to Mèche, we made the mandatory pilgrimage to the Beverly Hills Erewhon. I ordered my usual—a Brainstorm Smoothie with extra protein and an espresso shot because, well, it was early. We arrived at the salon right on time—9:45—and I walked into a full day of clients.

The Highlights, literally and figuratively:

—Ashley Tisdale came in looking effortlessly cool as always. We did a full head of highlights, an Olaplex treatment and a 4-in-1 moisture mask [Ed. note: this is only available to hair professionals] to keep her hair healthy and luminous.

—Maria Bakalova arrived to get ready for her Oscar parties. We did a soft smudge, which is a delicate way of breaking the base, using Schwarzkopf Igora Royal 9-1 with 30 volume, followed by 8-11 with 20 volume at the roots. We left it on for six minutes—enough to lift the color without making it obvious. Then, we made it a little lighter with an Olaplex treatment and then finished with a Olaplex deep conditioner. The result? Ethereal.

—Amy Poehler stopped by because, you know, Oscars. We made sure her blonde was Oscars-ready with Schwarzkopf BlondMe and an Olaplex treatment. A little polish, a little strength—exactly what a big night like this calls for.

—Shiri Appleby was looking for a richer color. We used Schwarzkopf Igora at the root and Vibrance on the ends. It’s a subtle shift but the kind that makes all the difference.

—Becki Newton, who is currently filming season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer (one of my favorites!), came in for a quick smudge—enough to keep everything seamless on camera—using Schwarzkopf Igora Royal.

At some point between foils and finishing sprays, we ordered lunch from Leora. I had the tuna sandwich—simple, perfect, satisfying, my favorite. It’s the kind of sandwich that reminds you that life’s little pleasures are often the best ones. Then I took my Omi peptides because, if I’m going to keep everyone else’s hair in top shape, I should probably start with my own.

By 6PM, it was time to step out of the salon and into something a little more celebratory. Naomi Whittel, the founder of Omi, and I headed to Chez Mia for a dinner honoring a longevity doctor—because who doesn’t want to live forever, or at least look like they do? It was one of those whirlwind days.

Friday, February 28
I woke up at 7AM, which, for me, is practically sleeping in.

Coffee. Always coffee. I decided to go with the Hiker vanilla and added a generous pour of my MCT oil, because that’s who I am now. And because every good morning ritual should come with a beauty boost, I took one scoop of my Omi Skin Matrix peptides, too.

I ordered breakfast on the way to work, but, in classic me fashion, I didn’t touch it for hours. Cold eggs, room-temp avocado toast… Delicious.

Next was Zoey Deutch, who was ready for some fresh color. We went with Schwarzkopf Igora Vibrance Rich, the kind of shade that turns heads.

Then, Kyle MacLachlan came in, looking every bit the leading man. He’s filming season 2 of Fallout, the post-apocalyptic series that took everyone by surprise last year. The first season was a massive hit, blending dark humor with sci-fi elements, a bit like Twin Peaks meets Wasteland. We touched up his hair, keeping it effortlessly rugged for the role.

Up next: Lindsay Lohan. She was in the mood for a little glow-up. First, we smudged her roots to soften her base, added highlights, and finished with an Olaplex 4-in-1 deep conditioning treatment to keep her hair healthy and luminous.

Sophie Thatcher was next. She’s been making waves with her roles in Yellowjackets and Companion. She came in blonde but left with a deep auburn. I then sent her off to get a facial with Athena Hewett, the founder of Monastery Skincare who was in town for Oscars weekend. Then it was Melanie Griffith’s turn to sit in the chair. We kept her her classic blonde.

I also had Mona May, the brilliant costume designer behind Clueless. Nearly 30 years later, they’re adapting the movie into a stage musical set to debut in the West End. I can’t wait.
Once I got home, I applied my Olaplex No. 5 scalp treatment and added the No. 3 Hair Perfector on my ends. I braided my hair, had a nice long soak in the bathtub, and went to bed.

Saturday, March 1
I woke up, made my special coffee blend, and took my supplements because consistency is key. Then I fed my four cats, who acted like they hadn’t eaten in days.

I got a workout in, just enough to feel accomplished. Then Ashley picked me up and we headed to Emma Stone’s hotel to color her hair: 20 minutes with Schwarzkopf Igora Vibrance followed by a rinse with Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance shampoo and a little Olaplex No. 5 leave-in to finish. (The night of, Mara Roszak did her hair and Rachel Goodwin was on makeup duty. See below.) One house call, and I was done.

I went to a birthday party in Santa Monica with a few friends later that night. It was fun until my friend broke her toe, so we called it early. I came home, got cozy, and rewatched the second season of The White Lotus. It was the perfect ending to a quiet day.

Sunday, March 2
Some Sundays are full of plans and some are about settling in. Today was the latter.

I spent the morning with Maya Rudolph, which is always a good way to begin the day. After that, I got a workout in, and then I came home, turned on the TV, and let the hours pass, waiting for the Oscars. I, like everyone else, watched half-invested in the speeches, fully invested in the gowns.

A good Sunday. Simple, easy, and just the way I like it.
