SCARLETT WHITENING Body Care (Lotion, Shower Scrub & Body Scrub) Review

by Lina Clémence June 6, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

exp date sekitar 2 tahun.

~ Ingredients List ~

Acrylic Polimer, Triisopropanol Amin, Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Glycol Distearate Dmdmhydantoin, Fragrance, Scrub, Glutathione, Water.

~ How To Use ~

Apply keseluruh badan lalu pakai telapak tangan gosok, gently, sampai rata, diemin 2-3 menit, sehabis itu bilas bersih yah. Baik digunakan seminggu 1-2x untuk hasil yang maksimal.

ada option lain pakainya: pakai pas kondisi kulit kering dan pas kondisi kulit basah

jadi no special way how, mana aja boleh balik lagi ke kalian nyamannya gimana.

~ My Opinion ~

Konsistensi nya kental, bukan cair.

~ Ingredients List ~

Aqua, Sodium Laureth-2 Sulfate, Acrylates/Steareth-2-Methacrylate Copolymer, Lauryl Betaine, Coconut Fatty Acid Diethanolamide, Fragrance component and Finished Frangrances, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate,

Cocamidopropyl Betaine Ammonium Salt, Collagen, Pomegranate fruit peel extract octenylsuccinate, Glutathione, Polyethylene, Dmdm Hydantoin, Glass beads Vit E, EDTA, Citric Acid, CI60725

~ How To Use ~

~ My Opinion ~

oh, and also, menurutku sabun nya agak kurang berbusa yah, makanya diatas aku bilang kalo suka yang berbusa pake puff untuk nambah busa. This may not be the case for you, mungkin karena aku udah kelamaan pake consentrated shower gel yang pake dikit goes a long way gitu.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Next but not least, here it is

warna lotion nya pink lucu gitu, kalo yang Romansa kan putih yah. tapi tenang ga bikin kulit jd ikutan pink kok.

Charming: wangi seperti parfume Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau De
Freshy: wangi seperti Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia eau de cologne

~ Ingredients List ~

Aqua Demineralisata, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, perfume, Propylene Glycol, Kojic Acid, Niacinamide, Titanium Dioxide, Glutathione, Dmdm Hydantion, Triisopropanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acrylates Copolymer, CI 14720 & CI 15525

~ How To Use ~

~ My Opinion ~

Aku suka how it feels after using this body lotion, beneran ga lengket dan yang bikin amazed adalah wanginya yang tahan lama jadi bikin badan wangi lebih lama.

tapi sekarang pake udah sekali apply aja. so I set in my mind bukan berarti kalo light-weight itu ga moisturize.

sayangnya dia ga ada SPF jadi jujur aku pake pagi hari tuh jarang, aku cuman rajin pake malem hari. Bukan cuman karena SPF, tapi sometimes wanginya too strong, menurut aku, entah aku berasa kalo pake ke badan jadi cepet bau kecampur sama sweat. jadi paling aku pake cuman di kaki dan tangan tapi ga dibadan. kalo malem baru deh full body, terutama kaki tangan leher.

Note to you, kulitku ini emang fair, putih banget malah yah sampe orang-orang nanya kok bisa putih gitu gimana? Jadi emang dasar kulit aku putih-pink gitu. Same things go for the knee and elbow yang biasa suka lebih gelap, bantu banget mencerahkan lutut sama sikut aku, karena aku anti banget sama sikut dan dengkul gelap

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Overall, yes, I think this product can help you get brighter and healthier skin. Brigther disini tuh bukan berarti lebih putih yah, at some point setidaknya sekitar 2-3 bulan, progressively, kulitmu akan lebih cerah tapi you can’t really change your natural skintone dengan product ini, kalo mau ubah skintone kamu emang harus lakuin hal lain, tapi setidaknya dengan menggunakan ini kalo kamu ngincar kulit km but better, this is the right product.

Shower Scrub Pomegrante BPOM: NA18180701928

The Best of Skin1004 – Fifty Shades of Snail

by Lina Clémence June 6, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

One of the best things about Korean skincare is that there really is something for everyone. No matter what your skin type and skin concerns are, there are options for you. Often excellent ones.

For example: If you have sensitive skin or just prefer gentle products with an emphasis on natural ingredients, but still want to feel excited about your skincare, Skin1004 is worth a very close look. So many products marketed as safe for sensitive skin either are not (often thanks to the use of fragrant essential oils for scent) or are legitimately low risk but also absolutely joyless.

Sponsored by Skin1004

After all these years of blogging about skincare, I still believe that skincare should inspire joy. The more you enjoy using a product, the easier it will be to use it consistently. And consistency is crucial to getting results. I’ve now tried a ton of Skin1004 products for various skin concerns. They’ve been flying under the radar making elegant, thoughtfully formulated skincare with interesting ingredients and beautiful textures. Here are my favorites—the moisturizers are especially exceptional!

Centella asiatica, aka gotu kola, has a long history in Asian folk medicine as a remedy for burns, wounds, and skin inflammation, and a shorter but still spectacular history in modern skincare as a calming and soothing agent. There’s also some evidence that centella and its derivatives may have brightening and anti-aging benefits. If you’ve ever noticed the word “Cica” in the name of a product or line, you’ll find centella—and often its derivatives, like madecassoside, asiaticoside, asiatic acid, and madecassic acid—in the ingredients.

Skin1004 sources their centella ingredients from farms in Madagascar, which the brand chose due to the optimal growing conditions and the sevenfold higher asiaticoside content found in centella cultivated there. The brand’s flagship Madagascar Centella line is made to help calm and repair sensitive, sensitized, or damaged skin.

Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam

I’ve shown this cleanser in my stories a few times because it is one of the standout Madagascar Centella products for me. I’m very picky about cleansers, but this one passed my tests with flying colors!

Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam ingredients: Centella asiatica extract (33%), sodium cocoyl isethionate, glycerin, water, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, coco betaine, potassium cocoyl glycinate, 1-2 hexanediol, sodium chloride, potassium cocoate, potassium benzoate, polyquaternium-67, citric acid, dextrin, sodium bicarbonate, theobroma cacao (cocoa) extract, disodium EDTA, sodium acetate, butylene glycol, coptis chinensis root extract, sodium hyaluronate, eclipta prostrata extract, coccinia indica fruit extract

CosDNA analysis

What do I want in a foaming cleanser? First of all, foam! I think we all know at this point that foaming ability doesn’t actually equate to better cleansing ability, but massaging thick fluffy foam on my face feels satisfying. Satisfaction keeps me coming back.

And yet the foamiest cleansers tend to be the harshest. My other key requirement in a foaming cleanser is a neutral to low pH. The pH of foaming cleansers matters because the pH of a healthy skin barrier is usually between about 4.5 and 6. Washing with a cleanser at a higher pH weakens the skin barrier, stripping away necessary natural lipids and leaving skin more vulnerable to irritation and infection. This is especially damaging to already sensitive or sensitized skin, but even for normal and oily skin types, respecting the skin barrier generally leads to much healthier skin. My pH strips put the Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam at a pH between 5.5 and 6, which is pretty optimal.

Ampoule Foam lather

Ampoule Foam pH test results

It’s difficult to find the balance between foamy and gentle. The Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam does so beautifully. It lathers up easily in my hands and feels lush on my face. I’ve used it on very dry days and very sensitive days, and it leaves my face feeling fresh and soft. No irritation, no tightness, no flakiness, no rush to apply a hydrating product immediately afterwards. I’ll be keeping this around happily for a long time.

Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream

This moisturizer far exceeded my expectations too.

I’ve tried more than a few centella/cica creams in my time and almost always struggled to finish them. I often outright abandoned them as soon as my skin could handle anything more interesting. I find the majority of sensitive skin-friendly moisturizers just too boring to keep in my routine. On top of that, many are too heavy for my tastes, especially for daytime, when I need to layer a generous amount of sunscreen on top.

I started using the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream during a recent bout of extreme sensitivity. I’d been using my (very strong) tretinoin prescription too continuously, and almost everything I put on my face stung. At the same time, the weather was unusually humid, so I really didn’t want anything oily or sticky on my face.

The Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream ended up being nothing like what I expected and yet actually a perfect solution. I was picturing a heavy emollient cream. Instead, it’s a refreshing-feeling, hydrating, lightweight gel cream. It layers smoothly with the rest of my skincare, sinks in quickly, and, most importantly, didn’t sting and did soothe my skin, which was feeling raw just from getting patted with a towel after cleansing.

Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream ingredients: Centella asiatica leaf extract (72%), glycerin, propanediol, dipropylene glycol, cyclomethicone, water, 1,2-hexanediol, trehalose, caprylyl methicone, C12-14 pareth-12, carbomer, tromethamine, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer, C30-45 alkyl cetearyl dimethicone crosspolymer, xanthan gum, mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf extract, zingiber officinale (ginger) root extract, butylene glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, tranexamic acid, coptis chinensis root extract, theobroma cacao (cocoa) extract, dextrin, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, biosaccharide gum-1, disodium EDTA, sodium hyaluronate, beta glucan, ceramide EOP, ceramide NS, ceramide NP, ceramide AP, phytosphingosine, hydrogenated lecithin, cetearyl alcohol, stearic acid, cholesterol

CosDNA analysis

As you might expect, centella headlines the ingredients here, but I want to call out a few other ingredients I liked seeing (and putting on my face). The peppermint might seem like an odd choice in a sensitive skin-oriented product since menthol and peppermint can be irritating for some people. But since it’s an extract and not an oil, and presumably not present in a high concentration, it contributed a slight fresh sensation rather than the full-on burn of, say, Tiger Balm. Ginger root extract, meanwhile, adds some extra antioxidants to the mix. And the combination of ceramides, cholesterol, and phytosphingosine near the end may boost barrier recovery and function, always important for more sensitive skin.

Hydration! I consider it more important in my skincare routine than any actives, for all my personal skin concerns. Well hydrated skin looks plumper, firmer, and smoother than dehydrated skin, which tends to take on a dull, crepey, more aged appearance. The interaction of light with an abundance of water in the upper layers of skin gives it a lit-from-within glow that no makeup can replicate. And in my personal experience, hydration helps my skin heal faster when I’ve damaged it in some way.

Obviously, the main component of a hydrating product needs to be water. But if it were that easy, we could just slap some tap water on our faces and call it a day. An effective hydrating product also needs to contain humectants, which are molecules that attract and bind to water so that it continues to hydrate your skin rather than evaporating away.

Most of us are familiar with more common humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid (and alternative forms of hyaluronic acid like sodium hyaluronate and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid). But there are other effective humectants as well, like polyglutamic acid and pantolactone. Many plant extracts have humectant properties as well. Also, since many plant extracts are water-based, they make a nice water substitute in a skincare product, allowing the product to achieve the right consistency alongside whatever extra benefits the plant compounds might deliver.

Anyway, I love a good hydrating product. So I slathered on the sleeping pack from this line eagerly.

Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack

As you might have guessed from the name, the Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack is an overnight moisturizing mask that simultaneously targets dehydrated and irritated or sensitive skin.

Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack ingredients: Centella asiatica leaf water (39%), water, butylene glycol, glycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, niacinamide, polyglutamic acid, pantolactone, hibiscus esculentus fruit extract, carbomer, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid, cetearyl olivate, methylpropanediol, arginine, pullulan, sorbitan olivate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, pyrus communis (pear) fruit extract, adenosine, rosa damascena flower water, cucumis melo (melon) fruit extract, iris florentina root extract, ethylhexylglycerin, hedera helix (ivy) leaf/stem extract, sodium phytate, xanthan gum, maltodextrin, artemisia princeps leaf extract, hydrolyzed gardenia florida extract, melatonin, illicium verum (anise) fruit extract, larix sibirica wood extract, quercus mongolica leaf extract, persicaria hydropiper extract, rheum palmatum root/stalk extract, asarum sieboldii root extract, chrysanthellum indicum extract, corydalis turtschaninovii root extract, coptis japonica root extract, machilus thunbergii bark extract, pentylene glycol, hydrogenated lecithin, ceramide NP

CosDNA analysis

I find that the hydrating properties of the Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack definitely take precedence over the calming claims. This is a super smooth, silky-feeling gel cream with a quick dry-down and noticeable plumping effects both immediately and the next morning. It has all the main humectants you’d expect to find in a hydration-focused product, some of the more uncommon humectants, and a boatload of extracts to round out the product.

Sleeping packs are an interesting product category. Plenty of people argue that they’re just moisturizers marketed under a different name. Plenty of sleeping packs really do feel like just moisturizers marketed under a different name. Personally, I’m less interested in what a product is called than what it does: how something is marketed is generally determined by what the market seems to want. If people want products called sleeping packs, brands will label products as sleeping packs. And then again, there are sleeping packs that I’ve found to actually deliver different results overnight than a typical moisturizer.

When I use the Hyalu-Cica Sleeping Pack in moderate amounts, as I would a regular moisturizer, it works well for that purpose. It dries down quickly and leaves a smooth, primer-like finish. The moisture level is excellent for normal or oilier skin days and it plays well with my sunscreens.

When I use it as a sleeping pack, applying it in a much heavier layer overnight, it pumps an impressive amount of hydration and glow into my skin. My skin in the morning looks as plump and dewy as if I’d slept in a sheet mask, except without having to peel off a dried-up sheet mask off my face and without the disrupted sleep that I would have suffered if I’d tried to sleep with a sheet mask on my face. And, like the rest of the Skin1004 moisturizers that I’ve tried, it’s unfragranced and non-irritating, even when my skin is compromised.

Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum

While I don’t normally advise using sunscreen as moisturizer due to how much sunscreen is required to get the full advertised protection on the label, I can definitely get behind the added benefits of a sunscreen that’s also made to provide some extra hydration. Sometimes you’re in a hurry and don’t want to wait for your separate moisturizer to dry down before adding sun protection. And sometimes your skin just needs whatever extra hydration it can get.

With that being said, I’m often wary of “hydrating” or “moisturizing” sunscreens. Too often, they end up being too heavy to wear in the full amounts. Using too little sunscreen at a time can drastically reduce its ability to protect against UV radiation.

As the name suggests, Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum is a hydrating sunscreen that manages to live up to the claim without being too much for me, even over moisturizer.

Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum ingredients: Water, dibutyl adipate, propanediol, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, polymethylsilsesquioxane, ethylhexyl triazone, methylene bis-benzotriazoyl tetramethylbutylphenol, niacinamide, coco-caprylate/caprate, caprylyl methicone, diethylhexyl butamido triazone, glycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, butylene glycol, centella asiatica extract, betula platyphylla japonica bark extract, gingko biloba leaf extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, triticum vulgare (wheat) sprout extract, medicago sativa (alfalfa) extract, brassica oleracea italica (broccoli) sprout extract, eruca sativa leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, sodium hyaluronate, behenyl alcohol, poly C10-30 alkyl acrylate, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, decyl glucoside, tromethamine, carbomer, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, sodium stearoyl glutamate, polyacrylate crosspolymer-6, adenosine, xanthan gum, T-butyl alcohol, tocopherol, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, inositol, hyaluronic acid, pentylene glycol, ethylhexylglycerin

CosDNA analysis

The Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum hits all of my main requirements for a sunscreen. First and most importantly, it’s SPF 50+ and PA++++, so it provides high protection against both UVA and UVB radiation. It uses exclusively chemical filters (Uvinul A Plus, aka diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, and Tinosorb M, aka methylene bis-benzotriazoyl tetramethylbutylphenol), which helps minimize the chances of streaky, chalky white cast—I don’t bother with mineral sunscreens basically ever. And it’s pleasant to use.

I wouldn’t exactly call it a serum, but it is a smooth, lightweight lotion-textured product that spreads easily and dries down fairly quickly. No white cast. It leaves a glowy and slightly dewy finish but doesn’t feel sticky on me. I also found that it sits well over the moisturizers I use and doesn’t pill up under makeup. I managed to use up almost the whole tube before I realized I was running low—hence how skinny it looks in the photo! I’d definitely reach for it again.

If you have sensitive or sensitized skin, you may also appreciate the fact that the Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum contains no fragrance or denatured alcohol, since both are known to increase the risk of irritation.

When I said Skin1004’s moisturizers are exceptional, I meant it. The brand has achieved the feat of making literally the only “tone-up” product I have ever liked. And I like it a lot.

The word “tone” in a product name instantly triggers alarm bells in my head. As a category, tone-up products are not my thing. Technically, a “tone-up” product aims to brighten up skin tone. In practice, the majority of tone-up creams I’ve used have simply been loaded with zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide and achieved the intended effect by laying a noticeable chalky white cast on the skin.

The Skin1004 Tone Brightening Capsule Cream is not that.

Tone Brightening Capsule Cream ingredients: Centella asiatica extract (60%), water, butylene glycol, propanediol, niacinamide, isotridecyl isononanoate, phenyl trimethicone, 1,2-hexanediol, tranexamic acid, diglycerin, squalane, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, polyglyceryl-3 distearate, xylitylglucoside, cetyl alcohol, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, anhydroxylitol, polyacrylate crosspolymer-6, arginine, trehalose, zea mays (corn) starch, xylitol, panthenol, pentylene glycol, microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, glyceryl stearate citrate, ethylhexylglycerin, hydroxyethyl urea, glycerin, glucose, madecassoside, sodium hyaluronate, bisabolol, hydrogenated lecithin, glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer, pyrus communis (pear) flower extract, lactobacillus ferment

CosDNA analysis

Similar to the other moisturizers in this post, the Tone Brightening Capsule Cream is on the more lightweight and hydrating side, rather than the heavier, more emollient side, making it most suitable for normal or oily skin types. It contains well researched skin-brightening agents niacinamide and tranexamic acid to address dark spots and brighten up dull, uneven skin tone. And it contains skin-soothing, hyperpigmentation-fighting madecassoside encapsulated in tiny beads that burst and release the ingredient upon application to skin. I love a little textural excitement in a cream, and it’s even better when the excitement also serves a purpose!

Long term and combined with daily sunscreen use, the combination of niacinamide, tranexamic acid, and madecassoside are a great combination for lightening up hyperpigmentation and achieving brighter, more even skin tone without thinning or irritating sensitive skin. In the short term, the Tone Brightening Capsule Cream gave my skin a distinct ultra-smooth glow. There aren’t many products I’ve found that produce a blur filter effect on my face in person. This does. I reach for it whenever I need an extra boost and don’t need heavy moisture. I love it.

These days, our standards for skincare are higher than ever, because we know more about skincare than ever before. Luckily, we also have more options than ever before. More options always beats fewer options. But the Korean skincare landscape can be overwhelming: there’s a different brand everywhere you look and more popping up by the day. It helps to know who makes products that align with your skin’s needs. If your skin is on the sensitive side and you like gentle, lightweight products that emphasize naturally derived ingredients, Skin1004 is a great place to start.

Watermelon Glow Hue Drops | Glow Recipe

by Lina Clémence June 6, 2025

The beauty of, well, beauty is that it’s what you make of it: These days, your face serum can double as your highlighter (hey, Dew Drops), while your eye cream can work as a primer for eye makeup. Watermelon Glow Hue Drops live up to that expectation of flexibility and experimentation, working as first and foremost a skincare product — it has the same hydrating and brightening base as Dew Drops, packed with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, and also has the addition of centella asiatica to soothe skin.

Over time, this dewy serum leads to brighter skin and a more even tone. But since we love instant gratification, it’s also designed to deliver an immediate, radiant warmth to skin. How? Super-fine pigments give the formula a sheer tint to make your skin look like your skin, only better. With that, here’s what you should know.

What’s Inside

Since Hue Drops is a skin-first product, it contains the powerful, clinically effective actives you’d expect in a face serum. And if you’re familiar with the Glow lineup, then you already know that we’re big fans of niacinamide, and for good reason: Also known as vitamin B3, this ingredient is known for its ability to multitask. For one, it can counteract discoloration and dark spots over time. That’s because it interferes in the pigment production process, preventing newly formed, excess melanin (which is the pigment in skin) from making its way to skin’s surface.

Not only that, but niacinamide also works to support the skin barrier and can even control oil production. And, last but definitely not least, it’s also an antioxidant — making it an MVP among skincare ingredients. That’s why it’s a mega-star in Dew Drops, as well as a headliner in Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Hue Drops.

Since Hue Drops helps to instantly even the appearance of skin tone with its sheer tint (while also helping to brighten hyperpigmentation over time, just like Dew Drops), we also added centella asiatica, aka tiger grass, in this new formula. If you haven’t encountered centella asiatica before, you’re in for a calming, soothing treat. This ingredient is known for its ability to reduce the appearance of redness, giving Hue Drops the ability to further even out skin tone over time.

On top of these skincare all-stars, Hue Drops is infused with bronze and gold pearls. The ethically sourced vegan pearl has been finely milled to lend an even tint to skin, leaving it with a warm (but not bronzed) look. Even better? The tint is so sheer that it works for all skin types, making the most of your natural radiance. (Heads up: Since mica doesn’t always have a transparent or ethical supply chain, we only use responsibly and sustainably sourced mica from a supplier that’s part of the Sustainable Mica Initiative, which helps ensure that companies are supplying mica in a responsible manner.)

Watermelon Glow Hue Drops also contains hyaluronic acid, our end-all, be-all ingredient for hydration. It’s a humectant, meaning it works to draw in and retain moisture in the skin, leaving it plumper, smoother, and more radiant. And, of course, there’s the namesake watermelon. Watermelon extract is soothing — making it a great counterpart to centella asiatica — and also packed with amino acids, making it a natural match for niacinamide.

How to Use It

Watermelon Glow Hue Drops is a winner for daytime wear, since it leaves skin with a lit-from-within warmth worth showing off. Apply one to two drops as the last step in your skincare routine, meaning after your moisturizer and sunscreen but before your makeup. If you want a little more of a tint, you can layer on more (but keep in mind that it’s not a bronzer or a self-tanner!).

Then, how you use within your makeup routine is up to you: You can dab a drop on your eyes for a hint of color — don’t worry, it’s been ophthalmologist-tested for safety — or pat it onto the high points of your face, like your cheekbones and brow bones. Got extra? Add it onto your décolleté or dab it onto shoulders for an extra gleam.

That said, you can also use Hue Drops in the evenings to get its skin-brightening benefits while you sleep, eventually waking up to glowing, more radiant skin. It’s the best of both worlds.

But you don’t have to take it from us. In a consumer use study of 31 participants, after two weeks:

·  100% agreed this product makes skin immediately appear more glowy and hydrated.

·  96% agreed this product’s sheer, buildable coverage works well with their skin tone.

·  96% agreed this product makes skin appear less dull.

And, after four weeks, things got even better:

·  100% agreed this product gives a lit from within look.

·  96% agreed this product brightens and evens out skin tone.

·  96% agreed this product improves skin’s texture.

·  90% agreed skin feels soothed after using this product.

Ready for your glow-up? We’re so excited to share Hue Drops with the world to restore a sheer warmth to skin while actively soothing and brightening your complexion. Drop any questions in the comments and we’ll do our best to answer!

10 Things Not to Miss at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

by Lina Clémence June 6, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

One of my absolute favourite weeks of the year is here at last; Chelsea Flower Show! Years ago, London Fashion Week was one of the most important weeks of the year for me, but how times have changed! Whilst the beautiful gardens and blooms are my focus at the show, I do also love the fashion element of the show; I thoroughly enjoy planning my Chelsea outfits & getting to see the gorgeous outfits other ladies sport at the show. Read on for some of my favourite elements of the show this year, plus some outfit inspiration if you’re attending the show.

1 – Monty Don’s Dog Garden

Monty Don of BBC Gardeners’ World has teamed up with RHS and BBC Radio 2 to create a garden celebrating our love, here in the UK, of both dogs and gardens. This wonderful garden is bursting full of dog-friendly plants, and has a biodiverse lawn rich with daisies, dandelions and clover, which help to make the lawn more hardy against the wear-and-tear from dogs running around. Monty’s own dog Ned, as well as a few of Ned’s relatives were invited to visit the garden on the press day to give the space their doggy seal of approval!

2 – The Highgrove Stall

If you’re visiting the show this year, be sure to stop by the Highgrove stall. Much like The King’s permanent shop in Tetbury, the stall at Chelsea sells a range of beautiful gifts, food & drink, homeware and more. I’d recommend picking up some of the produce from the King’s own garden, such as honey, apple juice and rhubarb gin. All proceeds support the work of The King’s Foundation.

3 – The Avanade Intelligent Garden

Tom Massey & Je Ahn have designed an urban forest garden which aims to highlight the importance of urban trees in combatting climate change, and providing habitats for wildlife within cities. Unfortunately, around 30% of urban trees do not survive their first year, and therefore this garden is equipped with sensors to track the health of the trees, which is connected to an app allowing the trees to alert their custodians via AI if they are being over-watered, for example. Tom & Je have also grown a sustainable house out of mushrooms which I’d definitely recommend taking a look at.

4 – Bamford

The Bamford stand is certainly one of my absolute favourites this year at the show. It has been so thoughtfully designed; with stunning planting, a wonderful range of products, and there’s even a fully-functional bath which wafts the incredible scent of the geranium bath oil throughout the stall. If you’re feeling inspired to pick up any Bamford products, use code JOSIELDN10 for 10% off.

5 – David Austin’s Rose Garden

David Austin’s indoor rose garden is always one of the highlights of Chelsea Flower Show for me. Being surrounded by the delicate scents of the many varieties of rose is just heavenly. It’s also worth popping by to see the newest addition to the collection; The King’s Rose – a gorgeous pink & white striped shrub rose which has shot to the top of my own wishlist!

6 – Horatio’s Garden

Horatio’s Garden is an incredible charity providing gardens to spinal injury units across the UK, to brighten the days of patients dealing with spinal injuries. This year at Chelsea, Horatio’s Garden has a trade stand full of beautiful garden tools and homeware, including their new collection designed by Emma Bridgewater.

7 – Caley Bros Mushrooms

For something a bit different, be sure to check out the immersive display celebrating all things mushroom. The exhibit displays a woodland floor covered in moss and a wide variety of mushrooms thriving in their natural habitat. The stall aims to teach visitors about the importance of mycelial networks in our ecosystems, and about the health benefits of many mushroom varieties.

8 – Food by The Newt

Once again, one of our favourite hotels in the UK; The Newt in Somerset are providing catering for Chelsea Flower Show. The Newt’s food is always of the highest quality, using local and seasonal ingredients where possible. Be sure to pop by for their incredible breakfast buffet to grab a croissant and a coffee to refuel you during the show. The Newt have also partnered with their South African sister farm to bring a dazzling display of unusual succulents to their slice of the show.

9 – Claverton Cloche

If you watch my YouTube Channel, you will have probably spotted the Claverton Cloches dotted around my kitchen garden. Claverton Cloche produce Victorian-inspired garden cloches which are genuinely built to last a lifetime. Hand-crafted from cast iron and horticultural glass, once you invest in a Claverton Cloche, you should never have to replace it. Do pop by their stall to see their cloches displayed within stunning planting done by The Pig.

10 – London Square Chelsea Pensioners Garden

London Square has partnered with the Royal Hospital Chelsea to create an incredible garden for pensioners and veterans to come together to connect with others and to reflect on times of war. The garden features seating upholstered in Pensioners’ scarlet uniforms, and after the show, the garden will be relocated to the grounds of the Royal Hospital.

7th Heaven Pink Oxygen Bubble Mask Review – Hoots Of Beauty

by Lina Clémence June 6, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Bubble masks are not new. They have been around in the K Beauty scene for years. However, 7th Heaven has the first cruelty free bubble masks I have seen. There are two to pick from Pink Oxygen and Charcoal. In Canada, you can pick up the 7th Heaven Pink Oxygen Bubble Mask from Farleyco, and some drug stores for around $5.

Like other sheet masks, this bubble mask is very easy to use. You do need to rub the package to active the bubbles before opening. This mask will start bubbling soon after to opening the package. The mask will bubble for the whole 10 minutes. The mask does have a scent, like citrus.

I would be careful if you have very sensitive skin as this mask has a blend of grapefruit,  raspberry and lemon. These ingredients are antioxidants, but they can be irritating to the skin.

Overall, the 7th Haven Pink Oxygen Bubble Mask is a fun sheet mask. It is relaxing to use and worth it for the selfies. I wouldn’t over do this mask due to the grapefruit, raspberry and lemon.

YOU Amino Low pH Cleansing Mousse [REVIEW]

by Lina Clémence June 5, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hi guys!

Tanpa alcohol, paraben, mineral oil, benzopheneno, BHA*/BHT, Phthaletes, triclosan formaldehyde, PABA, Homosalete, Fragrance, SLS/SLES.

Harga: Rp. 128.000

[ TEXTURE & SCENT ]

So far cocok banget buat kulit kami berdua. Ngga bikin break out dan setelah cuci muka, kulit jadi lembut tapi ngga keset / terasa ketarik.

Rating: 4.5/5

Repurchase? Yes

Thanks for reading, guys! 😀

See ya on my next post!

Current Body RF Radio Frequency Device Review

by Lina Clémence June 5, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Current Body recently got in touch and asked if I would like to try out their RF Radio Frequency Device. I absolutely love skincare tools, with LED masks being my one of my favourites, and so I was keen to try it out. I’d never tried radio frequency before, and didn’t realise it was something you could do at home.

When I try a new skincare tool, I like to really put it though it’s paces and see what results I can achieve, whilst also learning about the technology to try and understand how I can use it to it’s full potential.

What is an RF device?

Current Body’s RF device is described as ‘a non-invasive face lift alternative’, designed to tighten skin, smooth deep lines and sagging skin. With 50% quicker results than any other at home RF device.

BENEFITS

  • Increases Collagen Production
  • Visibly Smooths Lines & Wrinkles
  • Brightens Skin & Reduces Pigmentation
  • Tightens Sagging Skin

I was interested in all of these benefits, but the main two I was going to target was increasing collagen production and lines and wrinkles. I have dry skin on my forehead so I wanted to improve the collagen for hydration and also the wrinkles on the sides.

I’m noticing more the lines at the side of my eyes, so that was another focus and then lastly my elevenses, which I’ve had for as long as I can remember. The girl doing my eyebrows told me I have strong frown muscles, so I don’t have much hope for those lines without botox, but was keen to see how this may help.

Current-Body-RF-Device-3

How Does It Work?

Current Body RF Device has three energy levels which control how intense the radio frequency heating is on the skin. Level 1 is a gentle warmth, which is good for beginners or sensitive areas such as the eyes or neck. Level 2 and 3 are the higher energy levels and will heat up the skin quicker.

Current Body’s exclusive Skin Sense Technology continuously measures skin temperature and automatically adjusts to your skin’s resistance to keep skin at 43°C, which is the optimal temperature for maximum collagen production.

How Often To Use?

The radio frequency device should be used just once a week and with results in 8 weeks. Treatments can then be topped up every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain long-term results. Make sure to use the Current Body Skin Radio Frequency Gel on each treatment area.

Each area takes between 5-10 minutes, and a full face would take around 70 minutes. I did three areas in one go, but you could do an area a day throughout the week to save time.

Inside the booklet there is a guide on how to move the device for each area and how long to use it.

Current-Body-RF-Device-Treatments

Is it easy to use?

I found it very easy to use and quickly realised the ways to get it to work best for me. Slow and steady movements really do win the race, in this case I found using slow movements helped the device reach its optimum temperature (43°C ) quicker and you will know this when the light is a constant green.

I recommended doing your treatments in front of a mirror as you can watch what you are doing and keep an eye on the green light staying constant, as well as when it goes orange, which means a 5 minute treatment time is up.

The device is always plugged in, which saves you having to remember to charge it when you go to use it.

Current-Body-RF-Device

The areas I focused on were my forehead, elevenses and crows feet. The forehead I found trickier to get the heat to stay constant, but increasing it to level 3 was more beneficial for it to do this. As my forehead is more boney I also had to go very, very slow over this area to enable it to stay at the temperature. Crows feet were simple to go over and as this is a sensitive area I stuck to level 1, and then my elevenses I went for level 2, sometimes going up to 3.

To change the level you just click the button on the top, which is then reflected by the light on the front. This is also how you turn it on and off.

Current-Body-RF-Device-Levels

I started off in the beginning with level 1 and just tested out how comfortable I felt in each area with the different levels. The heat is a warm feeling and was never uncomfortable, once you get in the swing of it, it feels quite nice and relaxing.

Just always keep it moving and use the conductive gel, if it feels too much heat then go down a level.

Extra Boost

I also tested out the Current Body microneedling patches, which you can use alongside the RF device, as well as the Current Body LED mask. The patches are infused with hyaluronic acid and have 1140 ultra-fine microneedles that gently create tiny pathways in your skin, enhancing the absorption of the hyaluronic acid and helping to penetrate deeper below the surface for a boost of hydration and glow.

There are forehead and under eye patches which I left on for 2 hours (or you can do overnight) and these gave an instant tightening look. You can then complete your weekly RF treatment which enhances absorption and allows radio frequency energy to work deeper.

Current-Body-Microneedling-Patches

The Current Body LED Mask: Series 2 (10% off with code LDNDIARIES ) is another great option to pair with the RF device and maximise results. It’s my favourite mask on the market and combines red, near-infrared, and deep near-infrared light to help with anti-ageing, and I love that it also covers the chin area—especially useful if you’re using RF treatments around the jawline.

Results

The first time I used it on my forehead I was blown away by how tight my skin looked afterwards. This subsided by the next day, but I was excited to see how it would go as the treatments went on.

After 8 treatments, my elevenses have become less obvious and indented, and the skin in that area looks much more plump. The skin on my forehead was dry and now it feels more hydrated after using the RF device.

Elevenses-before-and-after-pic-RF

I saw a significant difference on just week 3 of my crow’s feet, the dehydration lines seemed much better when I smiled and were less prominent. By week 8 the skin overall was looking more hydrated and the lines aren’t as obvious. Looking at my pictures I’d also say there is less pigmentation than I had to start with.

Crows-Feet-before-and-after-pic

I never did consistent treatments on my jaw and smile lines, however I did try it out in those areas and again like the first time, I could see an instant difference afterwards. I will continue on with the smile lines, as I feel them more prominent when wearing powder make-up and think this will work as well as it did on the other areas I tried.

Where To Buy & Discount Code

Current Body RF Device is available now at Current Body for £299.99.

Current Body microneedling patches and RF device come as a starter kit for £349.99.

Take 10% off with code LDNDIARIES (also works on all Current Body products if you have your eye on more tools!)

What is Toxic Positivity? • Girl Loves Gloss

by Lina Clémence June 5, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Is there such a thing as too much, forced or even “toxic” positivity?

I’d reckon that many would automatically answer that positivity is always a good thing, but I would beg to differ.

We’re in a world where we’re trying to be more mindful of others (if you’re not, you might be part of the problem, just sayin’). Of course, having a sunny outlook on life is deemed an endearing personality trait, but what if that very thing makes you dismissive of others struggles?

Is too much positivity a bad thing?

I came across the term “toxic positivity” the other day, and it really resonated with me. I’ve always considered myself a “realist” – which some who are impossibly positive might refer to as being negative.

I’ve always found those who are positive just for the sake of not being negative hard to relate to; It can seem not only phoney but actually really invalidate genuine concerns.

Now, I’m not one to automatically toss out the term “toxic’ on things because I find it incredibly overused. But I do believe there is dismissive positivity, and toxic traits can lead to it.

I’ve done a little breakdown of dismissive positivity, as well as ways to respond to someone who might come at you with it. Keep reading, and let me know how you’ve found dealing with people who are unobtainable optimistic.

What is Toxic Positivity?

According to Psychology Today, “the phrase “toxic positivity” refers to the concept that keeping positive, and keeping positive only, is the right way to live your life. It means only focusing on positive things and rejecting anything that may trigger negative emotions.”

HOW CAN I TELL IF ITS TOXIC POSITIVITY?

I have a friend who only ever responds to hard situations with comments like, “well just be positive!” and “there are people out there struggling so much worse”. She thinks she’s forcing my hand in feeling positive, and it couldn’t be farther from the truth.

In actuality, using language like this is dismissive of someone’s struggles, challenges and emotions. It’s empty and meaningless, dismissive positivity, dare I say.

Similarly, when you don’t pay attention to feelings unless they are purely positive, it gives off the impression that you are unapproachable and unrelatable.

The difference between toxic positivity vs hope and validation

I’ve found this type of dismissive positivity is really strong in the motherhood space; As mothers, we are often expected to justify our feelings for fear of someone thinking we don’t count our blessings.

A new mother might be having a particularly rough go with postpartum depression and hearing something like, “But appreciate what a beautiful baby you have!” after trusting someone with her feelings could be incredibly hurtful and possibly damaging.

“Youth does not equal happiness. We know this about money, success and fame, but why do we expect our youth to automatically be happy/grateful/positive?”

This is also something I find common in the Baby Boomer generation and older, towards young people, as well. The whole, “Young people you should happy how good you have it!” is such an unproductive response. Youth does not equal happiness. We know this about money, success and fame, but why do we expect our youth to automatically be happy/grateful/positive?

“As mothers, we are often expected to justify our feelings for fear of someone thinking we don’t count our blessings”

What is toxic positivity and how does it negatively affect your mental health?
WHY IS IT CONSIDERED TOXIC POSITIVITY?

Society has led us to believe that the only “right” way to live, is positive.

It’s ok to feel negative about something, and spoiler alert: That doesn’t make you a negative person!

It’s 2020 and that means we can’t just chalk people up to being overly sensitive, negative, dramatic or annoying, purely because they aren’t positive, don’t ya think? Humans are pretty complex creatures and just as we don’t live in black and white, we also don’t feel that way.

There isn’t just good or bad in this world, and there also isn’t just negative and positive.

Only ever looking for the bright side or silver lining may temporarily seem like a positive way to move forward… but what if we switched out “positive” for “validation” or “hope”? Paying attention to the emotions and circumstances of yourself and others in a productive way may actually be the most positive management of feelings going forward for the future.

So the next time someone says they’re having a really hard time in life, or responds to something in a way that expresses a negative emotion: Validate them, and give them hope.

Let me know if you’ve experienced toxic or dismissive positivity in your life, either from someone else or if it’s something you find yourself doing.

Do you find yourself automatically wanting to respond to someone with an empty positive term?
