Application modernisation is driving business efficiencies

by Lina Clémence May 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Application modernisation initiatives have prompted the growth of platform services, which enable application development and containerised delivery via Kubernetes.

The services and tools bring the promise of automation agilities necessary to support advanced software architectures, including container orchestration, event-driven microservices, and serverless computing.

Application modernisation and containerised apps

Such solutions, typically delivered in partnership with third-party IT service providers, are all part of a broader DevOps strategy for modernising apps and optimising operations while abstracting infrastructure configuration complexities to move apps into production more easily. Containerised apps are important for their ability to support a self-service mindset. Containers are more easily portable between distributed multi-cloud environments and help enterprises remain competitive by helping improve the customer experience.

The leading drivers of containers and Kubernetes orchestration includes cost reduction and improved efficiency in hardware and around operations. Enterprises are also looking to establish a cloud foundation which shores up the infrastructure demands of new products and services. Enterprises additionally want to improve customer’s experience, enable intelligent automation, and ensure a strong cybersecurity defence.

There are barriers on the road to containerisation

Companies’ ultimate objective is to establish a cloud infrastructure which serves as a highly scalable and elastic platform. This platform will be intelligent enough to support cognitive services alongside other sets of disruptive capabilities to address increased demands placed on IT operations and developers. But digital transformation comes with its own set of challenges. There are barriers on the road to containerisation and cloud migration. While cloud services are essential for keeping businesses running with improved efficiency, IT solutions are not always optimised to support the agility necessary for frictionless app deployment and operational efficiencies.

For example, cybersecurity is very complex and becoming more challenging every day. Unified monitoring is still out of reach, based on difficulties in integrating new observability offerings which are not compatible with traditional monitoring tools. Hidden costs around cloud hosting and high-productivity services are common, for example unanticipated expenditures such as storage or fees between regions. Companies are realising the need to set up dedicated teams solely devoted to managing cost controls.

Expense and security

In general, undertaking modernisation projects can be expensive and require a long-term mindset. Security remains a serious barrier to application modernisation and achieving executive buy-in.

Container adoption has introduced an increasingly diverse and distributed IT portfolio, a scenario that can become problematic in operations’ ability to gain visibility into security vulnerabilities, application and system performance, and cost efficiency across multiple clusters and distributions. New application architectures, increased use of APIs, and open-source software (OSS) further increase the threat of software supply chain attacks. Platform vendors have not always been able to provide adequate tools which address DevOps and DevSecOps models.

Moreover, moving workloads to the public cloud brings with it new levels of expertise requirements for enterprises to ensure the safeguarding of data to meet regulatory requirements and corporate mandates. As with other areas of emerging DevOps technologies, there is a growing movement to reskill or upskill current IT professionals to take on these new challenges, particularly in cloud security.

Application modernisation is an unstoppable trend

It is vital for enterprises to choose application platforms that support not only Kubernetes, but an open-source culture as a whole, versus a proprietary software approach. This ensures less dependency on a single vendor while having increased flexibility to move and integrate applications across a widely distributed cloud environment.

OSS services also tend to cater to more professional developers who demand a greater amount of access to code to ensure the flexibility necessary to create and customise sophisticated applications. The industry’s ability to rally IT professionals and developers as well as technology providers (many of which are archrivals) all for the common good of global technology advancements via OSS further illustrates the importance of shared knowledge and shared experiences with unfamiliar technologies.

Enterprise developers tackling new projects rely heavily on OSS to explore new methodologies and receive invaluable help from vibrant and collaborative developer communities.

Ultimately, application modernisation is an unstoppable trend: it will take time to take hold in an inertia-driven environment such as enterprise IT, but the cost of not going ahead with digital transformation is too high: application modernisation has many advantages: increased competitiveness above all, efficiencies and greater customer satisfaction which is the ultimate driver for businesses.

e.l.f. Beauty to expand prestige portfolio and creator-driven reach via $1bn rhode acquisition

by Lina Clémence May 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Following e.l.f. Beauty’s (e.l.f.’s) full FY2025 result announcement, which reflected a net sales increase of 28%, the company’s Chairman and CEO shared in a press statement that “e.l.f. Beauty found a like-minded disruptor in rhode,” who “further diversifies our portfolio with a fast-growing brand that makes the best of prestige accessible.”

Under the terms of the agreement, e.l.f. will acquire rhode for $800 million at closing, paid through a combination of $600 million in cash and $200 million in newly issued shares of e.l.f. common stock, with an additional $200 million in potential earn-out payments contingent on future growth, according to the company’s press release.

Brand profile and strategic expansion

Founded in 2022, rhode has established a reputation for minimalist, skin-first formulations and an efficient direct-to-consumer (DTC) model. The brand reported $212 million in net sales for the 12 months ended March 31, 2025, more than doubling its consumer base in the past year, according to e.l.f.’s press release, and the acquisition marks e.l.f.’s latest move to scale its skin care presence, following its acquisition of Naturium in 2023.

Founder Hailey Bieber will remain involved in the same role while assuming additional responsibilities as Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation. “From day one, my vision for rhode has been to make essential skin care and hybrid makeup you can use every day,” said Bieber in e.lf.’s press statement.

“Our partnership with e.l.f. Beauty marks an incredible opportunity to elevate,” she continued, “and accelerate our ability to reach more of our community with even more innovative products and widen our distribution globally.”

rhode will also enter its first physical retail partnership with Sephora later this year, launching in stores across North America and the UK The brand will continue to operate from its Los Angeles headquarters under the leadership of Bieber, Co-Founders Michael D. Ratner and Lauren Ratner, and CEO Nick Vlahos, e.l.f.’s announcement confirmed.

Digital momentum and creator-driven growth

The acquisition comes amid rapid digital growth for both brands. According to data from software company Tubular Labs, rhode garnered 325 million TikTok views in 2024, and has already matched that number in 2025 through May 27. e.l.f., meanwhile, saw 326 million TikTok views in 2024 and 218 million so far in 2025.

Despite their similar engagement levels, the brands currently have limited audience overlap on TikTok, just 10% for Bieber and 9% for rhode with e.l.f., indicating potential for incremental growth.

rhode has leaned more heavily on organic traction than paid sponsorships, executing just 7 cross-platform sponsorships so far in 2025, compared to e.l.f.’s 119, according to Tubular Labs. However, its influence is expanding through a rapidly growing creator network.

Data from influencer marketing program software company Traackr shows rhode’s creator community expanded from roughly 2,000 creators in 2022 to over 8,600 in 2024. The proportion of brand attention driven by Bieber herself fell from 73% in 2022 to 14% in 2024, reflecting a strategic pivot toward scalable creator-driven marketing.

Traackr also reported a rise in creator loyalty, with average posts per creator increasing from 2 in 2022 to over 5 in 2024. Meanwhile, rhode’s content performance, measured by the company’s Brand Vitality Score, rose from 6.9% to 8% during the same period.

The move positions e.l.f. to deepen its penetration of the prestige skin care market and expand retail partnerships beyond mass channels. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver breakout innovation while accelerating our international and omnichannel growth,” Amin concluded in the press statement.

SHEET MASK | Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask | Cosmetic Proof

by Lina Clémence May 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Purchased by me. Affiliate links.

It seems like the most viral sheet masks right now are the ones that become clear while you wear them overnight and though I have the famous Biodance ones to review, I picked up the Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask during the Sephora VIB event because I always love trying new sheet masks and now that Sephora does not carry as many, I definitely jump at the chance when I see one!

Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask Review

What makes this mask special? It’s one of those soluble collagen masks that turns clear overnight so for those of you who enjoy a morning shed, this is the mask for you! This mask also contains niacinamide, hydrolyzed collagen, collagen extract, five peptides, cica extract and a whopping eight different forms of hyaluronic acid! This mask is EVERYTHING!

Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask Review

This was my very first time using an overnight mask like this and if you don’t like leaving this on overnight, the instructions suggest leaving it on for at least 3-4 hours. Honestly though, if I did it during the day, I would not be able to resist talking, eating or drinking for 3-4 hours so overnight really does seem to make the most sense!

Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask Review

I’m not gonna lie. As someone who is a side sleeper, sleeping in this mask was a challenge for me as I needed to sleep in my back. I also like to sleep with the covers right up to my nose which I couldn’t do in this case as the mask was wet for a few hours. I also like sleeping with the window open, so I had a continuous cool breeze across my face which made this mask extra cold. In general, I wasn’t physically that comfortable so I prayed to the skincare gods that it would all be worth it in the morning!

Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask Review

An interesting side effect of this mask that I will need to be careful of is that my cat, Buster, finds it DELICIOUS. I woke up in the morning to him licking my face very intensely which has never happened before! I have also found him licking the mask in my “review pile” as I keep the actual masks I need to review by my laptop so I think he either likes THIS particular mask or just collagen overnight masks in general! I guess as I do more reviews for this type of mask, I will find out what Buster prefers LOL!

Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask Review

This is how the mask looks like in the morning. My eyes weren’t even open yet when I took this photo because Buster was hounding me and I definitely wanted to wash my face. I usually wash my face in the morning with cold water so all I did was peel off the mask, rinse with water and pat dry and you know what? My skin looked FABULOUS!

Mask Summary:

Price: $12.50 CDN each

What it does: Enhance the skin barrier, soothe dry skin and reduce redness

Scent: None

Essence Type: Clear, viscous

Duration: Minimum of 3-4 hours, but overnight recommended which is what I did.

Thickness: Thin hydrogel

Mask Fit: Pretty good! The chin portion held on to my skin quite well.

Tackiness: None because you are meant to cleanse your face as usual after removing the mask.

Hydration: Skin is SUPER plump after removal! My goodness!

Other notes: Dries down and goes clear-ish, but remains a bit sticky.

Peace Out Overnight Bio-Collagen Recovery Mask Review

Final verdict: This mask leans more expensive than other Korean masks of similar category, but I did LOVE the results. I woke up to super plump, even-looking skin that looked so bright it was hard to not to notice! I am going to try my Biodance ($7 CDN) and Maskeraide ($8 CDN) masks to see if they measure up and if not, I will be repurchasing this mask in the multiples!

Best Clean Beauty Brands and Products

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Years ago it seemed like there were only two options when it came to skincare.

Choosing “natural” skincare meant that the products were safe for your skin and the environment, but they came at a price. Effectiveness was often sacrificed for safety and gentleness.

Synthetically made skincare was more powerful but could often raise health and environmental concerns.

But now consumers don’t have to choose, thanks to brands like Carrot & Stick.

Carrot & Stick perfectly balances the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science.

BEST OVERALL

Carrot & Stick
Whether you’re already a fan of natural skincare or simply want to try it, one of the newest naturally derived skincare brands is Carrot & Stick. The collection offers the best of both worlds, meaning it combines plant-based ingredients with cutting-edge science to formulate skincare products that are effective and gentle to the environment.

Carrot & Stick takes a tough-love approach to skincare, perfectly balancing the gentle nurturing of plants with the powerful results of innovative science. The result? Straightforward, effective skincare that delivers radiant-looking skin that is good for you and good for the environment. The collection covers all the essential skincare needs with a moisturizer, serum, face wash, brightening pads, and targeted serums to address various skincare concerns.

While Carrot & Stick products all rely on naturally sourced ingredients, what is equally important is what doesn’t go inside the formulas. The brand skips harmful chemicals commonly found in skincare products. The company is also environmentally conscious, and is committed to eliminating known irritants and pollutants that can compromise skin health and contaminate the environment. The packaging is streamlined to help cut down on waste.

The brand incorporates naturally derived ingredients such as plant proteins and plant-based neuropeptides and cannabis sativa. Other key ingredients include vitamin C, which helps to brighten the skin and fade the look of dark spots; vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps nourish the skin; hydrating hemp seed oil and glycerin, a humectant. Additional ingredients include sea buckthorn oil, which is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties; horse chestnut seed extract and oat kernel extract. Rounding out the ingredients list are proven heavy hitters like this group of AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids)- mandelic and lactic acid- and BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) like salicylic acid. Another key ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water.

It is also important to highlight what customers won’t find in Carrot & Stick products. The company calls it the “Nix List,” and these unwanted ingredients includes sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban and synthetic fragrances.

FULL LIST

Drunk Elephant
Cruelty-free brand Drunk Elephant has several top-rated products. With its clean formulations and Instagram-worthy packaging, Drunk Elephant is beloved by shoppers, influencers, and beauty editors. The brand has received plenty of editorial coverage in publications such as Allure, New Beauty, Vogue, and Refinery29 and has scooped up plenty of industry awards as well.

Drunk Elephant combines tried-and-true skincare ingredients (i.e., vitamin C, retinol, and peptides) with unique extracts (i.e., marula oil, mongongo oil, and more) to create products that truly stand out from the crowd. Plus, the brand leaves out harmful ingredients — aka the “Suspicious 6” — that they believe are at the root of almost every skin issue.

Origins
One of the pioneers of natural-based cosmetics is Origins, which William Lauder launched in 1990. Origins continues to trail blaze with green ideas, such as reducing its environmental impact and committing to planting trees.

Origins’ slogan is “Powered by Nature. Proven by Science.” The brand’s philosophy is to incorporate natural ingredients into its skincare line. This means a mix of exotic ingredients sourced worldwide and more common plant and oil-based products, such as charcoal, ginseng, and caffeine – all created in an environmentally conscious way. One of the first products was the Clear Improvement Active charcoal mask, still one of the best-selling masks in the US.

Mad Hippie
Mad Hippie is a clean beauty brand built on the notion that natural skincare can be very effective as traditional. The brand uses organic natural ingredients and safe synthetic ingredients to formulate its skincare and makeup products while leaving out toxic ingredients and unnecessary additives.

The brand does an excellent job of incorporating a wide variety of beneficial ingredients into its product formulations. Mad Hippie uses many unique botanical extracts and oils, such as konjac root, cloudberry fruit extract, blackcurrant seed oil, acai extract, reishi mushroom extract, and chlorella extract just to name a few. Additionally, you’ll find many tried-and-true anti-aging ingredients in its formulas, such as vitamins A, C, and E, and peptides.

Tata Harper
Tata Harper founded her eponymous skincare brand in 2010 when the “farm to face” concept was still new. Today the Tata Harper brand is one of the best-known natural skincare brands with fans including Gwyneth Paltrow and Emma Watson. Harper herself is one of many females leading a beauty company, including Charlotte Tilbury, Glossier’s Emily Weiss, and Jamie Kern Lima of IT Cosmetics.

Tata Harper makes natural skincare products made in small batches in Vermont led by an all-female lab. Ingredients not grown in Vermont are sourced from around the world. Tata Harper products use 43 “high performance” ingredients. The company states that “We pack the most ingredients at the highest levels of concentration to deliver maximum results—without a single drop of artificial chemicals.” Each product has its batch number etched on the bottle so that customers can track how (and when) their item was made. Tata Harper products are free from GMOs, toxins, fillers, artificial fragrances, artificial colors, and synthetic chemicals.

True Botanicals
True Botanicals founder Hillary Peterson learned this hard truth after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She describes that moment as a “wake up call” and took a serious look at how she could better support her health in every way possible.

Tula Skincare
While dermatologists create many skincare brands, the story behind Tula is a little different. The brand’s founder — Dr. Roshini Raj — is actually a board-certified gastroenterologist. Through her medical career, Dr. Raj found that probiotics could benefit the skin like they benefit the digestive system. And that’s why you’ll find probiotics as the key ingredients in all Tula skincare products.

The probiotics used in Tula skincare products are clinically proven to help promote the look of skin’s natural balance, locking in moisture to leave your complexion more hydrated and reducing the appearance of inflammation. Tula also uses several superfoods in their skincare products, such as blueberries, turmeric, and white tea. All products are 100% free from phthalates, parabens, propylene glycol, petrolatum, gluten, and mineral oil.

Fresh Skincare
Fresh Skin Care is a beauty brand that creates their products by combining potent natural ingredients, ancient rituals, and modern science. In 1991, Fresh Skin Care founders Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg were Russian immigrants living in Boston, and they saw the need for beauty that was both effective and indulgent.

Glow Up Without the Gag: Top Vitamin C Serums That Won’t Offend Your Nose from Avene, Naturium and Bubble Skincare with a Hello and Orange Naturals bonus!

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Vitamin C serums are like a tall glass of OJ for your face – packed with brightening power, antioxidant protection, and anti-aging magic. They help even out skin tone, fade dark spots, boost collagen and give your complexion that elusive lit-from-within glow.

But here’s the weird part: for something loaded with Vitamin C, they never smell like oranges. Or lemons. Or anything remotely citrusy. No, generally your face ends up smelling like hot dog water, old coins or something mysteriously metallic from a sci-fi lab. I accept that I am never getting orange zest but I got tired of mystery meat so went looking for some great Vitamin C options minus the gross smell and here are my top 3 picks:

Avène Vitamin Activ Cg Radiace Concentrated Serum – 30ml – $77 – a powerful solution for dull skin, pigmentation and signs of aging with a 94% naturally derived and 100% vegan formula containing three highly effective dermatological ingredients: Vitamin Cg (1.8%) – a stable and slow-release form of Vitamin C that offers antioxidant and brightening benefits equivalent to 20% pure Vitamin C; Niacinamide (3%) – works to regenerate the skin over time and visibly reduce dark spots; and Bakuchiol (1.5%) – a plant-based alternative to retinol, helps smooth wrinkles without irritation.

The serum provides an instant glow, and within just 15 days, skin feels smoother and more plumped. After one month of use, dark spots appear diminished.

It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper and has a light texture that layers under makeup and sunscreen without pilling. Great for all skin types, including sensitive. Best of all is the scent – sadly not citrus – but it is light and delicate and totally un-offensive!

Natrium Vitamin C Super Serum Plus – 30ml – $40.99 – a supercharged, multi-benefit serum that is formulated with vitamin c, retinol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and salicylic acid to help improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth and brighten the appearance of skin, while also helping protect skin from environmental stressors. And formulated without parabens, phthalates, SLS, SLES, triclosan, formaldehyde, formaldehyde releasing agents, hydroquinone or animal testing.

Best of all it is formulated without a weird scent – it actually doesn’t smell like much of anything at all – acceptable! The texture is super smooth and light so great for layering under other creams and won’t upset  skin that is oily and likes to rebel at multiple products.

Bubble Skincare Day Dream Tone and Texture Serum Vitamin C + Niacinamide – 30ml – $24.99 – evens tone, reduces scarring and dark spots with a powerhouse formula containing: vitamin C – to promote a bright, smooth, even complexion and reduce sun damage; niacinamide – to hydrate skin, calm irritation, improve skin barrier function and reduce signs of aging; plant derived ceramides – to replenish the natural building blocks of your skin barrier for healthier skin; and alpha arbutin – works to visibly reduce the appearance of spots & uneven skin tone

This one also features a super-light texture and is specifically formulated without fragrance so has almost no scent at all – so layer away and no need to worry about nose wrinkles from an unpleasant smell!

These days you won’t just find your Vitamin C in skin products – turns out, it’s also good for other stuff…like your teeth!

Hello Super Mega Whitening Powered by Vitamin C Anticavity Fluoride Toothpaste – 82ml – $8.97 – a whitening mint toothpaste infused with naturally derived vitamin C, an alternative to peroxide for whitening teeth, it removes 94% of surface stains for teeth that are 2 shades whiter in 6 weeks and freshens breath with natural peppermint flavor and that is safe for everyday use.

It has a nice minty flavour that confuses me daily – my half-awake self sees the orange tube, registers Vitamin C and is expecting that citrus flavour and instead gets mint – don’t get me wrong, toothpaste should taste like mint but early-morning Lisamarie is not a good rememberer…

And while, slathering Vitamin C on your face is great for that radiant glow, let’s not forget the OG use: not dying of scurvy. If your diet’s slacking on the citrus (no judgment), a good supplement can be your immune system’s best friend – especially during cold season. Personally, I pop Vitamin C the second I feel a throat tickle – because glowing skin means nothing if you’re sneezing all over it…

Orange Naturals Vitamin C 1000mg – 120 vegetable capsules – $24.99 – an antioxidant for the maintenance of good health, it helps to prevent vitamin C deficiency and metabolize fats and protein – as well, it helps in wound healing, connective tissue formation and the development of bones, cartilage, teeth, and gums.

They do have some children chewable options if you aren’t a great pill taker but I actually found these nice and smooth so they go down easily!

Available at drug and grocery stores across Canada including Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall and online at orangenaturals.com and well.ca.

These 5 Moisturizing Face Products Have Been Amazing For My Skin

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I am an avid lover of all things skincare related and I’m always trying new products to see what works best for my combination skin. Lately, I’ve been all about providing the maximum amount of moisture to my skin and throughout this process, I’ve discovered some amazing products that have workes wonders on my skin, and I just had to share!

Here are 5 face products that are working wonders on my skin!

1. Mukama Botanica High Vibe Face Mist

mukama-botanica-high-vibe-face-mist-tangerine-sandalwood-product-review-black-yoga-teacher-busy-yoga-mom-blog

I was gifted this skin mist and it took me a while to get it into my skincare rotation and that is one of my biggest regrets! It has been such a treat for my skin. It gives me softness and my skin feels supple after using it. I thought that I would use it as a facial mist when practicing yoga or wellness activity, but it has become my go-to facial toner in my morning and evening skincare routines.

The tangerine and sandalwood that the spray is made from have amazing benefits for the skin. Sandalwood has anti-inflammatory properties to help de-puff the skin, and it acts as astringent (which is why I usually spray it every morning as step 2 of my skin care routine) and it also helps with clearing blackheads and acne. The tangerine contains anti-oxidants that fight free radicals and is also a source of Vitamin C. Overall, this facial mist has so many benefits!

Although, I haven’t been out and about teaching in-person classes, I recently had a yoga content shoot and brought my high vibration spray with me. It came in so clutch as a refresher for my skin between sets. This product really is a multi- benefit skincare must-have and I 100% recommend it.

Get you some!: Mukama Botanica High Vibe Face Mist

2. Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum

product-review-dermalogica-biolumin-c-eye-serum-dark-skin-care-tips-black-busy-yoga-mom

This. Vitamin C. Serum. Is. The. Truth! I’m admittedly a woman who wear many hats, so sleep deprivation is sometimes unavoidable, especially when balancing toddler mom life a full-time career and entrepreneurship.

Dermalogica has always been one of my go-to brands for skincare. It’s also
what my esthetician uses, so I’m no stranger to the amazing benefits and
results these products have.

When I got my hands on this Vitamin C eye serum, I had heard tons of buzz
from beauty bloggers galore screaming its glory from the mountaintops, so I knew I had to experience it for myself. It is a very lightweight eye serum with Vitamin C complex that helps brighten and visibly firm the skin around the eye area.

And the verdict is… IT’S LIT! My dark circles are gone and I love the
nourishment and soothing formulation of this serum… it’s a winner.

3. Murad Resurgence Rapid Collagen Infusion

murad-resurgence-rapid-collagen-infusion-beauty-product-review-dark-skin-care-black-yoga-mom

I received this moisturizer in a FabFitFun box and mmmm mmmm mmmm! It is SO GOOD! I have been a fan of adding collagen to my smoothies, coffee and tea for a couple of years because of the great health benefits that it has for joints, hair, skin and nails. It is also a great way to naturally get an energy boost.

So, I was immediately intrigued by this product and after doing some
research, (just to make sure it was a good fit to incorporate it into my regimen) and learning that is all about helping with skin’s elasticity so much so that they promote that it can reduce wrinkles and fine lines in as little as two hours, I was SOLD.

Wrinkles aren’t a huge concern of mine at the moment, but prevention is key and I do have laugh lines and minimal crow’s feet that I’ve noticed are more minimal since using this product

Get you some!: Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion

3. HydropPeptide Moisture Reset Phytonutrient Facial Oil

hydropeptide-moisture-reset-phytonutrient-facial-oil-skin-care-product-review-skin-care-black-woman-dark-skin-yoga-mom

I absolutely love slathering my skin with a luscious facial oil and this one has been the best thing to happen to my skin a long time.

This nourishing, medium weight oil is an anti-oxidant rich blend of a dozen oils and is the perfect consistency, because it’s not super-thick or watery. It has juicy ingredients like avocado and lavender oilthat help improve the skin’s natural lipid barrier.

I use it in the morning and at night before bed by dispensing 3-4 drops onto my fingertips and gently rubbing and patting it into my skin. It leaves my face feeling moisturized and soft.

Get you some!: HydropPeptide Moisture Reset Phytonutrient Facial Oil

5. Amethyst Face Roller

amethyst-face-roller-skin-care-chakra-zulu-crystals-black-busy-yoga-mom

I recently shared how using my facial roller on my skin has been great for
my mental health because I use it as a mindfulness ritual.
I treat my skincare routine as a self-care ritual, and this beautiful Amethyst
facial roller is my go-to!

Amethyst is known as the “all-healer” and is known to counteract
negative energies and I’m pretty sure that’s why it feels so amazing to run it
over my skin. Plus facial rolling is great for draining your lymph nodes and stimulating blood circulation, so using a beautiful tool made from one of my favorite crystals is the icing on the cake.

Get Yours!: Chakra Zulu

What are your go-to skin care products these days?

xo,
