Bantu Knot Out Tutorial | No-Heat Curls

by Lina Clémence August 3, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I love playing with Paisley’s hair, but I’m always looking for ways to create cute hairstyles using as little heat as possible. This Bantu Knot Out hairstyle delivered on both counts and will last for a couple of days. Bonus!

This hairstyle actually takes some prepping before you start, so Paisley’s Bantu knots had been sitting for a couple of days. Remember to keep hydrating as you go. To prevent fluffing and puffy, I highly recommend the Hairitage “Take Your Vitamins” Argan Oil. You want to rub and twist the hair out in the OPPOSITE direction that you twisted the hair into the knots. The Argan Oil is also great for keeping the scalp hydrated so try to work it in as much as you can. Don’t forget to really take your time when you’re twisting out the Bantu knots. Grab your tools and let’s get started!

Items Needed: Hair Pick, Hairitage “Take Your Vitamins” Argan Oil, Hairitage “To The Max” – Maximum Hold Styling Gel

Time Requirement: 10-15 minutes

Skill Level: Medium

Bantu Knot Out Tutorial | No-Heat Curls

  • Begin with bantu knots all over the head – Paisley’s had been sitting for a couple of days.

  • Apply an argan oil to the hair to keep it moisturized as the knots come out.

  • Begin to untwist the hair while running the oil through it (keeps the hair from immediately puffing out, and adds TONS of moisture!) – Twist the hair out in the OPPOSITE direction that you twisted the hair into the knots

  • Slowly and carefully separate the hair, depending on the size of the knot, you’ll likely get 3-5 curls out of each knot.

  • Continue this process of releasing the knots and separating the curls all over the head.

  • Since the scalp is very exposed, now is a perfect time to add some of the argan oil to the scalp (if needed) for extra moisture and hydration

  • Once all of the knots are released, use a hair pick to to loosen up the part lines down at the root of the hair.

  • Leave the curls free, or part the hair and pin back a section of hair by the face to take the look to the next level!

Young girl with Bantu Knots blows a kiss to the camera

Conclusion

Once all the knots are out, use a hair pick to loosen up the part lines at the root of the hair so you can hide those lines. Be sure to stay close to the root – if you go out to the ends, you risk the curls getting too puffy. You’ll get adorable corkscrew curls that you can leave free, or part the hair and pin back a
section of hair by the face to take the look to the next level! Use some To The Max styling gel by
Hairitage for a smooth, defined edge.

Make the style last by putting the hair up into a pineapple and covering with a head wrap at night. Over the next few days, the curls will loosen and get puffier for a whole new look!

3 Photo Secrets to Spice Up Your Instagram — Confessions of a Hairstylist

by Lina Clémence August 2, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Have you ever felt like you don’t know what to do with your hands in a photo? Here’s your solution: Add a fun prop! Not only does this elevate the look of the photo by creating more of a storyline, but it also makes it easier to pose!

In theme with AIIR, we love to use various crystals, holistic elements such as marigold or sage, or even incorporate our products into model photos! By doing this, we tell a story through our imagery. Instead of just scrolling past another photo of a model, it subconsciously causes people to pause and take a second to imagine a scenario, which often provokes a feeling as well.

A fun prop can really take a photo from 0 to 100. This tip will really level up your Instagram and set you apart from other creators and stylists!

Braids & Hairstyles for Super Long Hair: Double Rope Braid Bun

by Lina Clémence August 1, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hello dear friends and a belated Happy New Year 🙂

I love being married to the love of my life!  I’ve been busy getting settled in to my new home, so I haven’t posted much as you probably noticed.  But once again I will try to start posting more often.

A few days ago I braided my hair in this pretty bun style.  My bun is actually two rope braids braided together in another rope braid, so a double rope braid 🙂

Thank you for coming by to see my pictures!  I’m living in the middle of snow right now, so I’ll see how I adjust my hair care to this new climate.  So far I’ve been able to stretch out my washes to once a week, and I’m putting monoi oil and coconut oil on the ends of my hair during the week.  It helps keep the static down and also keeps my ends hydrated.

See you again later, thank you for visiting my blog!

Highlights from Anh’s Recent Curated Cutting Classes

by Lina Clémence July 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

From June 8th–10th, Curated Cutting returned to Milbon Academy for another incredible weekend of classes in NYC. This time, we introduced a brand-new format: for the first time ever, our classes included prep, giving students a complete, start-to-finish look into how Anh Co Tran creates his signature lived-in haircuts. The weekend was led by Anh and lead educator, Daniel Kim.

In response to past student feedback, Anh combined the styling and advanced cutting classes into a cohesive experience called Mastery Classes. The two new classes were Mastery Class 1: Long Movement and Med-length Shag and Mastery Class II: Neo-bob and Soft Pixie. Rather than teaching cutting and styling separately, this format allowed stylists to understand the full process, from clean sectioning and product prep to the final styling techniques that bring a haircut to life. Anh chose cuts for their adaptability across hair types and client needs, making it a must-know for salon professionals looking to expand their skillset.

The energy throughout the weekend was high, with stylists feeling inspired, supported, and ready to take what they learned back behind the chair. One attendee shared how clearly everything was explained—step by step—and how they left the class feeling confident to try dry cutting for the first time. “I can go into the salon tomorrow and give someone a dry cut,” they said. “This experience was absolutely amazing.”

Another student, Alexandra, reflected on how the class helped shift their mindset around problem-solving in a haircut. “Learning how to remove weight properly and fix heaviness gave me the confidence I used to lack,” they said. “I really ingested a lot of information in a very short period of time.”

From mastering fringe to understanding structure and balance, each moment of the weekend was focused on equipping stylists with tools they can actually use, with clarity, intention, and creativity. Thank you to everyone who joined us at Milbon Academy. We’re so excited about this new direction for Curated Cutting, and we can’t wait to bring even more hands-on education to our community of artists.

Next up: Curated Cutting heads to Tulsa, Oklahoma from October 26–28. Join us at Oma Salon for another hands-on weekend of Fundamentals and Mastery education, and walk away with a Lived-in Hair certification. Spots are limited, reserve yours now and take the next step in refining your craft at the link here.

These Pore-Unclogging Face Washes Are the First Step Towards Clearer Skin

by Lina Clémence July 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

For blemish-prone skin, a great skin-care routine starts with the best face wash for acne. We know there’s a dizzying number of facial cleansers on the market, and finding a formula that effectively targets hormonal acne, whiteheads, cystic acne, blackheads, and other blemishes isn’t the most straightforward task. So we (and our board-certified dermatologist friends) are here to help. Those with acne-prone skin, in particular, should be laser-focused on finding an acne cleanser that unclogs pores, gently exfoliates, and doesn’t exacerbate existing blemishes.

So, you may ask, what face washes do dermatologists actually recommend? Claire Chang, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, has some handy, essential guidelines she abides by when shopping for an acne cleanser. She always recommends gentle cleansers over harsh soaps—especially ones with physical exfoliants—to clear the skin of dirt and excess oil. Don’t aggressively rub, scrub, or over-cleanse either (twice a day, morning and night, is perfectly fine) to avoid worsening your skin’s condition and encouraging scarring. With that in mind, read on to pick out one of these eight best face washes for acne to add to your cart and your routine.

Our Top Face Washes for Acne

Frequently Asked Questions

Best Overall: Tata Harper Clarifying Cleanser

Tata Harper

Clarifying Cleanser

Allure contributing editor Deanna Pai applying the Tata Harper Clarifying Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: Red or reactive skin needs a cleanser that won’t exacerbate existing irritation, Tata Harper’s Clarifying Cleanser gives you that deep, satisfying clean, clearing away dead skin, excess oil, and congestion that comforts stressed-out skin instead of stripping it—thanks to a sulfate-free formula that’s loaded up with soothing ingredients such as chlorella, honey, and mint. (Refreshing!) As far as smoothing skin and clearing pores, lactic and citric acids from fermented sugar and salicylic acid get the job done—and very well, might we add.

Tester feedback from contributing editor Deanna Pai

“I’ve had breakout for years—they’re a fact of life (and hormones). But I’ve found that washing with this cleanser (after removing my makeup with an oil-based formula) really helps dispatch both large cysts and smaller whiteheads more quickly. It smells herbal and fresh, builds to a nice lather, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture. I really concentrate massaging it in around my problem areas, like around my nose, chin, and jawline, and feel like it’s made a difference in my acne’s lifespan and, as important, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (as in, there’s less).” —Deanna Pai, contributing editor

  • Key ingredients: prickly pear enzymes, lactic acid, citric acid, salicylic acid, chlorella, mint, honey
  • Who it’s for: anyone who struggles with acne and clogged pores (unless you’re sensitive to fragrance)
  • Fragrance-free: no

Best for Inflamed Skin: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Cleanser

Image may contain: Bottle, Lotion, and Cosmetics

La Roche-Posay

Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Cleanser is a do-it-all breakout fighter. It clears blemishes, smooths rough texture, cuts through oil, and helps keep future flareups in check, thanks to a 4% concentration of benzoyl peroxide. New York City board-certified dermatologist Jessica Krant, MD, sums this ingredient up best: “Benzoyl peroxide is so effective and reliable for acne because it works via several different mechanisms at once,” she previously told Allure. “It is both antimicrobial, killing bacteria and other organisms, and an exfoliant, helping to unclog pores and gently debride the surface layer of skin.” So, there you have it: antimicrobial, plus anti-inflammatory, plus exfoliant, equals a powerful acne-fighting ingredient.

The formula also includes lipohydroxy acid (a milder alternative to salicylic acid) to exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog pores, without being too harsh on sensitive skin. Unlike other acne cleansers, it doesn’t leave your face feeling dry or tight—even with twice-daily use—partially due to the addition of glycerin.

Tester feedback from senior director of audience development Lexi Herrick

“My skin is both acne-prone and sensitive, so finding the right products can be a challenge. This face wash walks that line perfectly, clearing out my pores without causing too much dryness or damage to my skin barrier. I use this one in the shower (beware the benzoyl peroxide will strip the color from towels) so I recommend a generous lather and heavy rinse. You also can’t beat the price for the size of this, and it truly lasts forever!” —Lexi Herrick, senior director of audience development

  • Key ingredients: benzoyl peroxide, lipohydroxy acid (LHA)
  • Who it’s for: those with sensitive skin who are struggling with excess oil, raised pimples, clogged pores, and uneven texture
  • Fragrance-free: yes

Best Makeup-Removing: SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Cleanser

SkinCeuticals

Simply Clean Cleanser

Allure commerce writer Lily Wohlner applying the SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: If you’re dealing with acne, double-cleansing is non-negotiable. (If you’re not doing it yet, consider this your sign.) While we always recommend starting with a dedicated makeup remover—cleansing balm, oil, micellar water, your pick—SkinCeuticals’ Simply Clean Cleanser pulls extra weight by lifting leftover makeup, grime, and oil in your second cleanse. It’s powered by exfoliating sulfonic acid (an exfoliant that sloughs off dead skin cells), as well as glycerin for a moisture boost, and chamomile to counteract any signs of irritation from the acid. Word to the wise: It’s strong enough to clear out buildup but can be a bit too intense for sensitive skin.

Wohlner before applying the SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Cleanser

Wohlner after applying the SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Cleanser

“I can usually tell right away if I’m going to like a cleanser—it has to be super foamy and leave my skin feeling fresh and clean without that tight, stripped feeling. The second I tried this one from SkinCeuticals, I was hooked. It lathers up like a dream, and after rinsing, my skin looked brighter and my pores felt noticeably clearer like I’d just had a facial. It also does an amazing job at removing makeup. I always check with a towel after, and there’s never any leftover residue. Just make sure to really take your time massaging it in so it can work its magic.”—Lily Wohlner, commerce writer

  • Key ingredients: sulfonic acid, glycerin, chamomile
  • Who it’s for: those with normal, oily, or combination skin that feels clogged
  • Fragrance-free: yes

Best for Uneven Texture: Eau Thermale Avène Cleanance Cleansing Gel

Image may contain: Bottle, Lotion, and Shampoo

Eau Thermale Avène

Cleanance Cleansing Gel

Why it’s worth it: To our dismay, glowy skin can creep into shiny/greasy territory real fast. Eau Thermale Avène’s Cleanance Cleansing Gel curbs shine and keeps it from creeping back. To thank is comedoclastin, a milk thistle extract that helps reduce oil and visibly minimize blemishes throughout the day. Also included are gentle surfactants for foamy suds and Eau Thermale Avène’s thermal spring water—sourced directly from France—to calm irritation and redness. Though the Cleanance line is designed for acne-prone skin, this formula skips the usual heavy-hitters like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, making it a welcome find for sensitive, oily types. We’re constantly reaching for this cleanser post-workout or after a sticky summer commute.

Tester feedback from Wohlner

“I don’t usually deal with tons of oil buildup, but in the summer my skin always looks a bit greasier and my texture gets rough fast. This cleanser has saved my skin, especially during the summer. My skin looks far less oily and, because it cleanses so deeply, my acne has been at bay. My roommate, who’s dealt with every kind of breakout under the sun, saw his skin completely clear up after a few months of using it. We both agree: It leaves our skin feeling truly clean and refreshed after every wash. And with consistent use, our breakouts stay away.” —Lily Wohlner, commerce writer

  • Key ingredients: comedoclastin (derived from milk thistle), gentle surfactants, thermal spring water
  • Who it’s for: those with oily, breakout-prone skin
  • Fragrance-free: no

Best for Dry Skin: Paula’s Choice Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser

Paula's Choice CLEAR Pore Normalizing Cleanser turquoise bottle with white cap on light gray background

Paula’s Choice

Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: Great for dry, acne-prone skin, this cleanser is packed with glycerin and panthenol to hydrate and soothe while still tackling breakouts. It contains 0.5% salicylic acid—a gentler dose compared to the max 2% allowed in OTC formulas—so it’s less likely to dry out or irritate skin. While it’s not as strong as higher percentages, the salicylic acid in this formula is still super effective for acne and can clear breakouts over time, says board-certified dermatologist David Kim, MD.

  • Key ingredients: salicylic acid (0.5%), panthenol, glycerin
  • Who it’s for: dry, acne-prone skin; clogged pores
  • Fragrance-free: yes

Best Drugstore: Differin Daily Deep Cleanser

Differin Daily Deep Cleanser navy tube and box on light gray background

Differin

Daily Deep Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: Even though it was the first prescription acne drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for over-the-counter (OTC) use, Differin is still as reliable as ever. For example, the Daily Deep Cleanser is not only affordable but highly effective at keeping acne at bay (a winning combination!). Of note, 5% benzoyl peroxide is a maximum-strength dose that is “still gentle and generally well-tolerated,” according to Dr. Chang. She also notes that the chemical compound has been shown to reduce inflammation and kill acne-causing bacteria. Just take your time thoroughly rinsing off the cleanser, as the acid can stain dark towels.

  • Key ingredients: benzoyl peroxide (5%), glycerin
  • Who it’s for: oily, acne-prone skin
  • Fragrance-free: yes

Best for Sensitive Skin: Drunk Elephant Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser

Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser white tube with black geometric pattern all over it with orange cap on light gray background

Drunk Elephant

Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: Michele Green, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, recommends Drunk Elephant’s Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser for sensitive skin, since it’s a fragrance-free formula that uses a blend of mild surfactants—including a coconut-derived one rich in fatty acids—to cleanse without causing irritation. As a non-irritating backup, glycerin softens skin and locks in moisture. Although it’s especially well-suited for sensitive skin, all skin types can use it thanks to its balance of deep-cleansing yet hydrating properties, Dr. Green says.

  • Key ingredients: cantaloupe extract, glycerin, marula oil
  • Who it’s for: sensitive, combination, oily, dry, and acne-prone skin
  • Fragrance-free: yes

Best Exfoliating: DamDam Snow Mushroom Salt Cleanser

DamDam Snow Mushroom Salt Cleanser box with white mesh bag and round white cleanser bar

Damdam

Snow Mushroom Salt Cleanser

Why it’s worth it: This 2023 Best of Beauty Award winner from J-beauty brand DamDam is a waterless cleansing bar that’s low-waste, long-lasting, and effective. The minimalist formula includes select powerhouse ingredients: snow mushroom (a hydration hero similar to hyaluronic acid), salt to help clear buildup and gently exfoliate the skin, and plant fiber for a satisfying foam that makes you feel squeaky-clean. For double-duty exfoliation, slip the bar into the included textured glove to gently buff and polish your skin on both your face and body (just make sure to use a light hand here!).

  • Key ingredients: snow mushroom, salt, plant fiber
  • Who it’s for: all skin types, clogged pores, dullness
  • Fragrance-free: yes

Frequently Asked Questions

What ingredients should I look for in a face wash for acne?

Dr. Chang tells us to look out for two powerhouse ingredients: salicylic acid, a type of beta hydroxy acid (or BHA) that “goes deep into the pores to clear them from excess oil and dirt,” and benzoyl peroxide, which guards against inflammation and kills acne-causing bacteria. Milder ingredients include tea tree oil or green tea, which also provide skin-soothing benefits (essential for reactive, acne-prone skin).

Note: Face washes marketed for acne-prone skin can help with blemishes, but Dr. Kim keeps it real, saying they’re not the most critical part of an acne routine since they’re rinsed off. The real heavy lifting comes from more intensive spot treatments and other leave-on products.

What if I’m on an acne prescription?

Dr. Kim knows acne firsthand—he went through two rounds of Accutane himself, which now shapes how he guides patients through prescription treatments. He’s a firm believer that if you’re on a solid topical or oral prescription regimen, you can use just about any cleanser—even one that’s not acne-specific. That said, he notes, “If a patient has very mild acne and is only using over-the-counter treatments, adding an acne-focused cleanser can be helpful.”

So, I used a cleanser…now what?

As for follow-up tips, always apply any acne medications immediately after cleansing to allow the active ingredients to work their magic, which Dr. Chang says can take up to 6 to 12 weeks of continued daily use. And never forget to moisturize. Rather than clogging your pores, a lightweight cream will ensure your skin stays hydrated and protected, especially if you’re using a drying topical medication. Kavita Mariwalla, MD, a board-certified dermatologist based in West Islip, New York, recommends avoiding layering retinoids, as well as products that contain fragrance and alcohol, on top of acid-laced cleansers, as these pairings can lead to dryness and irritation.

Why Peptide.ltd is the Go-To GMP Manufacturer for Melanotan

by Lina Clémence July 28, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Finding a reliable peptide supplier isn’t easy. After working with various manufacturers over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how quality can make or break research outcomes. That’s why so many researchers and healthcare professionals keep coming back to Peptide.ltd GMP manufacturer, especially when they need melanotan 2 that actually works.

Let me walk you through what makes this company different and why their melanotan 2 has become such a trusted choice in the research community.

What’s the Deal with Melanotan 2?

Melanotan 2 isn’t your typical peptide. This synthetic compound mimics something our bodies already make: alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). But here’s what makes it interesting for researchers:

Think of it as a master key that unlocks several biological processes at once. The peptide doesn’t just do one thing – it affects multiple systems in ways that scientists are still discovering.

Here’s What We Know So Far

The science behind melanotan 2 is pretty fascinating:

  • Skin pigmentation: It ramps up melanin production, which means darker skin tone
  • Appetite control: Early studies hint it might help people feel less hungry
  • Other effects: Researchers are looking into how it might affect mood and energy levels

Current Research Breakdown

What Scientists Are Studying What They’ve Found Why It Matters
Sun protection More melanin = better UV defense Could help prevent skin damage
Weight management Might reduce food cravings Potential obesity treatment
Brain function Could affect mood pathways Mental health applications

Why GMP Manufacturing Actually Matters

I can’t stress this enough: when you’re dealing with peptides, the manufacturing environment is everything. Peptide.ltd GMP peptide manufacturer gets this right in ways that many competitors simply don’t.

What Makes Peptide.ltd Different

Peptide.ltd has built their reputation on doing things properly:

The Manufacturing Side

  • They run a proper GMP-certified facility (not just claiming they do)
  • Every batch goes through the same rigorous process
  • No cutting corners when it comes to contamination control

Quality Control That Actually Works

  • They test everything – purity, potency, consistency
  • You get real certificates of analysis, not just paperwork
  • Each batch is tracked from start to finish

Regulatory Compliance

  • They follow international standards (not just local ones)
  • Everything is documented properly
  • Regular inspections keep them honest

What You Get When You Choose Peptide.ltd for Melanotan 2

Getting melanotan 2 from Peptide.ltd isn’t just about the peptide itself – it’s about everything that comes with it.

Product Quality You Can Count On

Purity That’s Actually Pure The GMP conditions producing environment means you’re getting melanotan 2 with minimal junk in it. I’ve tested peptides from various suppliers, and the difference is night and day.

Accurate Dosing When the label says 10mg, you actually get 10mg. Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many suppliers get this wrong.

Transparency They don’t hide behind vague claims. You get detailed analysis reports that tell you exactly what’s in your peptide.

Support That Makes Sense

  • Real People: When you call, you talk to someone who knows peptides
  • Global Reach: They ship everywhere and handle customs properly
  • Flexible: Whether you need small research quantities or bulk orders

What’s New in Melanotan 2 Research

The research world never stops moving, and melanotan 2 studies keep getting more interesting.

Sun Protection Studies

Scientists are looking at whether melanotan 2 could help people who burn easily. The idea is that more melanin means better natural protection against UV damage. Of course, this isn’t meant to replace sunscreen – just add another layer of protection.

Metabolism Research

Some animal studies suggest melanotan 2 might help with weight control by affecting how hungry animals feel. The research is still early, but it’s pointing toward potential applications in obesity treatment.

Brain-Related Studies

This is where things get really interesting. Researchers are finding that melanotan 2 might affect:

  • How we respond to stress
  • Mood regulation
  • Even cognitive function

Beyond Melanotan 2: What Else Peptide.ltd Offers

Peptide.ltd isn’t a one-trick pony. They’ve got a full lineup of research peptides:

Product Range

  • Cosmetic peptides for skin research
  • Metabolic peptides for obesity studies
  • Neurological peptides for brain research
  • Custom synthesis for specialized projects

Service Quality

  • Quick response times (usually within 24 hours)
  • Technical support that actually helps
  • Regulatory guidance when you need it
  • Custom formulations for specific research needs

Want to see their full catalog? Check out more information about what they offer.

How They Actually Test Their Products

Understanding how your supplier tests their peptides helps you plan better experiments and interpret results correctly.

Testing Methods They Use

HPLC Analysis

  • Checks purity levels
  • Identifies any impurities
  • Verifies the peptide is stable over time

Mass Spectrometry

  • Confirms molecular weight
  • Checks structural integrity
  • Catches contamination issues

Biological Activity Tests

  • Makes sure the peptide actually works
  • Validates functional activity
  • Tests stability under different conditions

Safety and Legal Stuff You Should Know

Let’s be clear about where melanotan 2 stands legally and what safety considerations matter.

Current Legal Status

  • Available for research purposes
  • Not approved by FDA for human treatment
  • Clinical studies need proper institutional approval

Best Practices for Researchers

  1. Follow the Rules: Check local regulations first
  2. Handle Properly: Use appropriate storage and handling protocols
  3. Document Everything: Keep detailed records of your research
  4. Safety First: Implement proper safety measures

How to Pick the Right Peptide Supplier

After years of dealing with different suppliers, here’s what I look for:

Manufacturing Standards

  • ✅ Actual GMP certification (ask to see it)
  • ✅ Quality control documentation
  • ✅ Facility inspection records
  • ✅ Regulatory compliance history

Product Quality Signs

  • ✅ Purity specs above 95%
  • ✅ Consistent results between batches
  • ✅ Comprehensive testing protocols
  • ✅ Stability data available

Support Quality

  • ✅ Knowledgeable technical support
  • ✅ Custom synthesis capabilities
  • ✅ Regulatory guidance
  • ✅ Reliable global shipping

Where Peptide Research is Heading

The peptide field keeps evolving, and melanotan 2 is just one piece of a much bigger puzzle.

Trends to Watch

  • Personalized Approaches: Tailoring peptides to individual needs
  • Combination Treatments: Using peptides with other therapies
  • Better Delivery: Getting peptides to specific body parts
  • Improved Stability: Making peptides last longer and work better

Bottom Line: Why Quality Matters

Choosing a peptide manufacturer isn’t just about price – it’s about getting results you can trust. Peptide.ltd GMP manufacturer has earned their reputation by consistently delivering high-quality products and backing them up with proper documentation and support.

Their GMP conditions producing environment means every batch of melanotan 2 meets the same high standards. Whether you’re studying skin pigmentation, exploring metabolic effects, or investigating new applications, having reliable peptides makes all the difference.

The research community trusts Peptide.ltd because they’ve proven themselves over time. They don’t just make peptides – they make peptides that work consistently, come with proper documentation, and are backed by knowledgeable support.

If you’re ready to move forward with your melanotan 2 research, you can find for more information about their specific products and how they might fit your research needs.

How to Grow Long Hair Fast in 9 Steps

by Lina Clémence July 27, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

There is no mathematical equation that will make your hair cascade like an amazing waterfall instantaneously. According to most hairstylists, hair growth is gradual and in most cases ranging from a quarter of an inch to half an inch in a month. Nevertheless, a super healthy scalp without split ends can achieve this feat within the reasonable time if well groomed and kept with the natural therapy.

This guide will show you 9 easy steps on how to grow your hair long

1. Scissors Are Pivotal

The ends of your hair will always look healthier when you get regular trims to snip splits. Although it is no guarantee for rapid hair growth, it will avoid splits from finding their way up strands which might lead to you chopping the hair too often. In the words of famous Hair Stylist, Mark Townsend; “If you wait so long that splits are causing your hair to break off high up on the strand, your hair will be shorter than if you get consistent trims.”

Let your hairdresser or barber trim your ends every 4-6 week to prevent the onset of extremely split ends.

2. Use Conditioner Whenever You Apply Shampoo

Townsend noted that it is ideal always to condition the hair whenever it is wet: “Over time, from coloring and heat styling, strands start to get thinner at the bottom” he explains. Lipids and proteins found in the hair shafts are restored whenever the hair is conditioned. “A conditioner helps to seal the cuticle to help prevent more damage from happening so that you can get your hair to grow longer and look healthier” he explains.

3. Don’t Shampoo Everytime You Shower

Shampoo serves the purpose of washing away dirt and the residue of product buildup, but on the negative side, it may as well strip the hair of critical natural oils that give the strands its natural sheen and softness. You need to be gentle to your hair when it becomes necessary for you to shampoo. We recommend using a shampoo kit from By Vilain. The primary requirement is for you to make lather at your scalp after which you may then let the suds work through strands and dripping down the rest of the hair as you rinse with water.
In Townsend’s words, “It’s shocking to me how many men skip conditioner when showering, which is the worst thing you can do for your hair – especially when you are trying to grow it long – and it’s shampoo that you should be skipping as much as possible.”

4. Finish With Cold Water After Each Shower

“This really does help to grow hair and keep long hair healthy for longer. Cold water lays down the outer layer of hair more smoothly, which helps prevent moisture loss, snags and heat damage – you only need to do it for a few seconds, but this one extra step over time can make a huge difference” Townsend says.

Is your hair in need of some serious revival? Hairstylist recommends the use of moisture-based masks and oils at least once in a week.  “I make a natural oil treatment and give it to all my clients to use pre-shampoo,” Townsend hints.

His homemade recipe for the hair includes 1 cup of unrefined coconut oil diluted with a tablespoon of jojoba oil and a tablespoon of macadamia. Since great oils for promoting hair growth are bound to leave residue on hair, the recipe is best used on dry hair and then to be left in for ten minutes. Sequel to this, it becomes advisable to shampoo and condition regularly. “These oils can fill strands up with fatty acids and then, when rinsed out, using regular shampoo helps seal them inside the hair” Townsend points out.

6. Hair Boosting Supplements Are You New BFF

The body needs a wide range of vitamins, minerals, and protein for hair growth. Your diet is of utmost importance and should serve as the bedrock for any hair growth therapy that you may want to use or are already using. The lack of some trace nutrients can facilitate rapid hair loss and sometimes make the process of regaining it almost irredeemable.

The hair is the fastest growing tissue in the human body and it needs sebum; an oily substance found in vitamin A responsible for moisturizing the scalp. Vitamin B is also known as biotin transports oxygen to the scalp and spurs hair growth. It is sometimes used for treating hair loss. Vitamin B is found in a wide range of foods including vegetables, almonds, fish, meat and seafood and is easily accessible through your regular meals.

Vitamin C stimulates the production of collagen in the skin to help prevent the aging of the hair. While vitamin D helps to avoid alopecia – the technical term for hair loss. Finally are irons, zinc, and protein all essential nutrients for proper hair growth.

7. Brush Your Hair With Care

Consistent brushing can undo your hair in the long run. Instinctively, we brush from the base of the scalp which will most likely gather small tangles into one big knot. This can lead to hair breakage. Townsend recommends the By Vilain Giant Comb known for its delicacy in spreading natural oils across the hair and being gentle on strands too.

8. Say Goodbye To Your Cotton Pillowcase

A silk or satin fabric is ideal because they don’t cause friction, unlike regularly woven cotton, does with the hair. The cotton pillowcase will reduce the occurrence of tangles every time you wake up.

9. Avoid Wrapping Your Hair In Big Towels

Wrapping the hair in big towels makes the strands of hair close to the face likely to break. Soft microfiber towels are the best bet. Your basic cotton t-shirt works as a cheaper alternative as well.

18 Blonde Hairstyles with Highlights and Lowlights

by Lina Clémence July 26, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Blonde hair with highlights and lowlights is an excellent way to add depth, dimension and vibrancy with the combination of lighter and darker tones creating a multi-dimensional effect that makes the hair appear fuller, more dynamic, and visually interesting. Lowlights add depth and richness, while highlights provide brightness and contrast, resulting in a balanced and textured finish.

Blonde hair with highlights and lowlights offers versatility because it allows for a range of looks, from subtle sun-kissed styles to bolder, contrasting effects. By strategically placing lighter and darker shades, this creates depth, dimension and a customised look that can complement individual features and preferences.

Furthermore, blonde highlights and lowlights are also versatile in the way that they can be adapted to complement various hair lengths, textures and skin tones, making them a popular choice for anyone looking for a fresh and updated look.

Highlights vs. Lowlights: What’s the Difference?

Highlights

Highlights add lighter shades to hair strands, creating contrast and brightness, while low lights add darker shades to create depth and dimension. Highlights aim to brighten and soften the overall hair colour, whereas lowlights deepen the base colour and can make the hair look thicker.

Highlights work well for anyone aiming for a sun-kissed, natural look with added texture because they mimic the way that the sun naturally lightens the hair, creating depth and dimension. The strategic placement of lighter strands can also enhance natural texture and create the appearance of fuller, more voluminous hair.

Lowlights

Lowlights are darker strands that are added to deepen the hair colour and create richness and depth; in essence, highlights lighten and lowlights darken.

Lowlights are an excellent way to add depth, dimension, and a more natural look to blonde hair, preventing it from appearing flat and one-dimensional. By strategically placing darker strands of hair throughout the blonde, lowlights create contrast and richness, mimicking the natural variations found in hair with sun-kissed dimension. This technique can also help soften overly bright or brassy blonde hues and create a more multi-tonal effect.

Key Considerations for Blonde Hair with Highlights and Lowlights

Hair Type

Choosing a highlighting or lowlighting technique that complements your hair texture is recommended to achieve a look that is natural and flattering.  For example, straight hair often shows off highlights and lowlights in a more defined way, giving it a smooth, polished look. The contrast can make the hair look sleek and shiny. Curly hair, on the other hand, tends to suit softer, more blended tones. This helps the colour flow naturally with the curls and adds depth without looking too bold. Blended highlights and lowlights can also enhance the natural volume and texture of curly hair.

Hair Tone

The tone of blonde highlights and lowlights can be adjusted to suit different base shades of blonde. Cooler blondes often work well with ashy highlights or even platinum lowlights to add contrast and brightness. For warmer blondes, golden or honey tones can create a softer, more natural look. Customising the tone helps blend the colour with your base shade while still adding depth and dimension.

Maintenance Level

Blonde hair with highlights and lowlights does require regular maintenance to keep the tones looking fresh and balanced. Over time, colour can fade or shift, especially with sun exposure or frequent washing. For those looking to reduce upkeep, low-maintenance techniques like balayage or babylights are great options; they blend softly into the hair and grow out more naturally. In contrast, high-maintenance styles with defined roots or all-over highlights may need more frequent touch-ups to keep them looking fresh.

Maintaining Blonde Hair with Highlights and Lowlights

Use Colour-Safe Products

To keep blonde highlights looking vibrant and healthy, it’s important to use colour-safe products. Sulphate-free shampoos and conditioners help preserve your colour while keeping the hair nourished and hydrated.

For cooler blonde tones, incorporating a purple or toning shampoo into your routine can help combat brassiness and maintain a fresh, clean finish. Using gentle, protective products between salon visits can make a big difference in the look and feel of your hair.

Regular Deep Conditioning

Blonde hair with highlights and lowlights can become dry and porous over time, especially after lightening treatments. Regular deep conditioning is essential to help restore moisture, improve elasticity, and bring back shine. Using a rich, nourishing treatment once a week can keep your hair feeling soft and healthy, while also helping to protect and prolong your colour.

Protect Hair from Heat

Lightened hair is more vulnerable to heat damage, so protecting it before styling is important. This adds a protective barrier that helps reduce breakage and dryness. For blonde hair with highlights and lowlights, this extra step can make a big difference in keeping your strands healthy, smooth, and shiny. Always use a heat protectant spray before using tools like hairdryers, straighteners and curling tongs.

Regular Salon Visits

Regular salon visits are important for keeping blonde highlights and lowlights looking their best. Root touch-ups every 6–8 weeks help maintain a seamless blend, while trims keep your hair in shape and prevent split ends. Staying on top of your appointments not only keeps your colour fresh but also supports the overall health and condition of your hair.

FAQ’s

What is the difference between highlights and lowlights?

Highlights lighten sections of the hair to add brightness and dimension, while lowlights add darker tones to create depth and contrast.

Can I do highlights and lowlights at the same time?

Yes, combining both can create a more natural, multi-dimensional look. It’s a great way to balance brightness with depth.

Most golden brunette and ash blonde tones tend to work best with blonde highlights, depending on your base colour and desired contrast.

Use a purple shampoo regularly, avoid excessive sun and chlorine exposure, and opt for colour-safe, sulfate-free products to maintain tone.

It depends on your natural hair colour. If your hair is light brown or darker, some level of lightening (usually involving bleach) is typically needed to achieve noticeable blonde highlights.

How often should I touch up blonde highlights and lowlights?

Every 6–8 weeks is ideal to maintain colour and blend new growth, though this can vary based on your hair type and the technique used.
