Review: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop | Memorable Days : Beauty Blog

by Lina Clémence August 1, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I have been using the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop for a long time. You can purchase it now at Dot Dot Skin. This is a low-irritant vitamin C serum that contains 5% vitamin C (L-Ascorbic acid) inside. It is created with stabilised pure Vitamin C to treat dead skin cells, dull skin tone and enlarged pores. This will help to lighten hyper-pigmentation, lighten dark marks from acne and to brighten your skin. It is free of alcohol and is fully vegan. I have been using this for many months.

PACKAGING
It comes in a very simple clean packaging but with a useful pump. I normally store this in the fridge so it doesn’t oxidise that quick. It should be white when you just open the serum.

Review Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop

INGREDIENTS
Water, Propylen Glycol, Ascorbic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Centella Asiatica Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Illicium Verum(Anise) Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi(Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Polysorbate 60, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Camellia Sinensis Callus Culture Extract, Larix Europaea Wood Extract, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Rheum Palmatum Root Extract, Asarum Sieboldi Root Extract, Quercus Mongolia Leaf Extract, Persicaria Hydropiper Extract, Corydalis Turtschaninovii Root Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Magnolia Obovata Bark Extract, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Lecithin, Acetyl Glutamine, SH-Olgopeptide-1, SH-Olgopeptide-2, SH-Polypeptide-1, SH-Polypeptide-9, SH-Polypeptide-11, Bacillus/Soybean/Folic Acid Ferment Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol.

TEXTURE
It has a light formula, it is not sticky, it sinks in fast. It can sting a little bit if you have never tried vitamin C before, for me it was alright. It stung at the beginning, but if you use it every single day, your skin will get used to it. It doesn’t really have a scent to it, there is no fragrance inside.

klairs freshly juiced vitamin c drop

MY OPNION
This Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop does help fading dark marks from acne. It is slightly visible after using it for 6 months, but you should not expect results after 1-2 months. This can take at least half year to a year until you see a bit of results, keep on using it every single day.

You can purchase it at www.dotdotskin.com and it’s sold for €29.95 there.

Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Vol. 887

by Lina Clémence July 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

So…what is the Monday Poll?

Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

1. Ice cream sandwich or popsicle?

An ice cream sandwich please, but it’s gotta be a Mini Its-It in Vanilla. YUM!

2. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?

Chanel Incendiare, a warm bright red. Reminds me of summer tomatoes.

3. Things that make you think of summer beauty?

Bright, sheer glossy lipgloss. Colorful, bold nail polish in shades of red or coral. Certain Chanel fragrances with a fruity vibe, like Chance. The scent of Guerlain bronzer. Body oils.

4. Have you ever lived somewhere where chickens wake you up in the morning?

Technically, yes. In the spring, during a particularly rough patch of insomnia, I used to hear a rooster crowing off in the distance in the wee hours of the morning. My guess is he lived down the street and a few blocks over. I haven’t heard from him in a while, though, so hmmm. Hope he’s still around!

5. Your preferred decade of dance music?

‘80s, baby!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Here are the questions to copy/paste with your answers in a comment. Talk to ya soon.

Grateful for Quarter 3 and Ready for 2025!! – Fashion Blog SXM

by Lina Clémence July 28, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hi, beauties! I know it’s been a while since I last wrote, but life has been ‘lifing’! The third quarter of 2024 was a whirlwind of activity with travels to Miami, Atlanta, Curaçao, and Aruba. Each destination was a unique experience, but the mission remained to empower, support, and promote growth for myself and my clients. Through workshops, strategic meetings, or networking, I focused on elevating brands and building meaningful collaborations while expanding my network.

In Miami, I connected with industry leaders and planted seeds for future partnerships. Atlanta introduced me to an incredible network of entrepreneurs, and the warmth there felt so much like the Caribbean! Meanwhile, in Curaçao and Aruba, I strengthened relationships with clients and partners, especially with Islandpreneur. These trips not only refined my leadership and business strategies but also helped uplift those I work with.

Miami, however, proved to be transformative. During a special event, I had the opportunity to meet the global directors of National Curves Day, Inc. Little did I know that this meeting would open doors I hadn’t even imagined, ultimately leading to my appointment as the St. Maarten Ambassador for National Curves Day.

On October 9th, I officially launched my ambassadorship with the ‘Sip & Paint: Love Your Body Edition; representing St. Maarten and the Dutch Caribbean. This journey is a reminder that opportunities come when you least expect them. Through this experience, I’m excited to continue advocating for body positivity and uplifting others through creativity and strategic empowerment.

Cosmetics

the raeviewer – a premier blog for skin care and cosmetics from an esthetician’s point of view: JEWELRY

by Lina Clémence July 26, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I was inspired by my Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Eyeshadow Palette to compile my most worn rose and rose gold earrings to share with you, since I get asked about the brands and styles I wear often.  My current favorite? These gorgeous vermeil Large Connection Earring Hoops by Au-Rate.

I almost exclusively don earrings since my tiny fingers are a size 4.25 to 4.5, making most rings impossible for me to wear, and necklaces tend to irritate my neck and get caught in clothing.  Hence, I consider earrings easy and low maintenance and accentuate my makeup as much as my clothing does — case in point, the Pillowtalk palette on my eyes in the photo above. I’ll share my other favorite earrings after the jump!

Earrings not only make me feel appropriate accessorized and pretty, they can also create the illusion of a slimmer smaller face. The four styles here are tried and true, functioning like pick-me-ups on days when I feel lackluster and spice up my mood.

Let’s start with the discontinued fringe earrings which are from BaubleBar.  I find their vast selection of covetable designs largely inspired by luxury brands quite commendable, and I stalk their sales for all the longer length styles.  BaubleBar makes a beaded fringe style that I adore too, which you can find in the carousel at the end of this post.  I believe I paid about $50 for these rose gold fringed earrings, and I wear them more often than I expected to.  The fringe quality could be improved but this style is supremely lightweight and especially photogenic!

Now, I do have a small collection of Chanel costume jewelry, most of which are studs to add the elements of texture and shape.  I tend to wear all the gold and rhinestone combinations more than the other styles since they are considered classic and match essentially every outfit.  I do enjoy wearing smaller non-logo studs like those from Kendra Scott, which you can see in the carousel before.

If your preference is fine jewelry, I highly recommend checking out Au-Rate.  This brand offers an impressive variety of lengths and styles in earrings — plus the option of purchasing one earring or a pair — making it a very unique shopping experience.  It’s similar in concept to shopping for body jewelry!  The large connecting hoops I chose have a spinning element which I find rather alluring.  There are no embellishments but they shimmer and glimmer as they move.  A bit rebellious but ladylike and feminine style, perfect for me.  I get compliments every time I wear them!

Last are my Kendra Scott Circe Drop Earrings which are the ideal size for day or night.  They’re a touch formal with the bubbly paveé but not too sparkly or obvious to wear with a blouse and jeans and sandals.  The glass stones are right on trend with the translucent heels this summer that I, too, can’t help but love.  These earrings are comfortable and the glass stones reflect light beautifully.

Please let me know if you’d like to see more jewelry posts.  Some of the styles below are on my own wishlist, but feel free to browse through my other favorites and seasonal picks!

Clergy Closet (formerly StyleWise Blog)

by Lina Clémence July 24, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Rebranding from StyleWise to Clergy Closet

I had been thinking about rebranding StyleWise for years. At one point, I asked my Instagram followers if I should change the name to just my name: Leah Wise. But to do that, I would have had to commandeer my preexisting domain, leahwise.com, which I use to share sermons and other theological writings.

It didn’t feel like the right move to combine my more serious, “professional” work with something that was intended to be a diversion from the heaviness of ministry.

So StyleWise lay essentially dormant for two years. Finally, on a bit of a whim, after some serious soul searching and a reorientation to my work, I spit out another Instagram poll.

This time, I had the idea that StyleWise could retain its essential theme while better reflecting my current focus and identity. I still care about slow fashion and sustainability, but I try to have a less puritanical relationship to it. These days, I’m trying to live my values while bridging what sometimes feels like an impossible divide between personal style and a clergy uniform.

I asked followers whether I should rebrand to Clergy Closet, Priest Style, or Style Sacristy. Unsurprisingly, only clergy liked the last one (it’s niche). One friend recommended Woman of the Cloth, which I liked, but the domain was already taken.

Clergy Closet was the clear winner, and the domain was available and only $13 a year!

The Meaning Behind the Logo

Before launching, I needed a new logo. So I did what anyone would do: I signed up for another free trial of Canva and got to work.

I thought I would spend some time introducing the logo and dissecting the meaning behind each color, font, and object…

Notations on the Clergy Closet Logo - full text located under the image in the post

Dissecting the Clergy Closet Logo

Font: EB Garamond is the closest font to Sabon, the custom font used in the 1979 Episcopal Book of Common Prayer.

Blue Text Color: This blue shade recalls the blue cover on the version of the Book of Common Prayer often given at Confirmation, including my own.

Ruby Red Color: This red is similar to the traditionally ruby red “rubrics” which are like stage directions for worship. Red also signifies holy days in the Christian calendar.

Scallop Shell: The scallop shell recalls the apostle, St. James, a fisherman by trade called by Jesus as one of the first disciples. The shell is also a symbol of baptism and new life in Christ.

Line Height: The line height between the words Clergy and Closet is intentionally narrow to replicate the cover page design in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer.

It sounds kind of complicated, but it was a ton of fun and didn’t take too much time to put together.

At first, I tried to bring more fashion imagery into it (like a hanger), but once I spun the shell around to mirror the symbol of Spain’s Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) pilgrimage, I realized it looked a bit like a dress.

The scallop has become particularly meaningful to me as a symbol of Christian faith. There are lots of ways to think about its significance. The connection to water recalls the Spirit of God hovering over the watery deep at creation and the the breaking waters of new birth.

Themes of birth and creation connect directly to the sacrament of Baptism, as the candidate goes down into and rises out of water as sign of death and resurrection. Many congregations, including mine, use a little silver scallop shell to draw the water from the baptismal font.

As a nod to St. James, it reminds me that Jesus called the poor and powerless to his work of reconciliation. And beyond symbolism, living scallops, though small, are a vital part of their marine ecosystem.

This logo was a labor of contemplation I didn’t realize I needed. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

It’s a favorite holiday for so many of us.  Thanksgiving.  No gifts, no debt, no decorations.  Thanksgiving is about gathering around the table and spending time with the people we love.  At FRESH, we’ll celebrate the day just like you… making memories with friends and family.

Here are a few favorite recipes that we’ll share on this special November day:

From Tara:

My favorite dish is stuffing.  And I love it with apples and cranberry.  Adding these ingredients to traditional stuffing gives this iconic dish just the right amount of sweetness!

Asian Makeup and Skincare Blog: SECRET KEY Self Brow Tattoo Tint Pack in #04 Ash Brown Review

by Lina Clémence July 20, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been selected as a 1st Generation Beautiful Pioneer!

What is a Beautiful Pioneer?

“A Beautiful Pioneer is curious.
A Beautiful Pioneer is thorough.
A Beautiful Pioneer embraces and promotes beauty & individuality.”

I’ll be working with Cupidrop to test out the latest K-beauty products and review them with 100% honesty.

Since Cupidrop is based in NYC, shipping is super fast for US residents! The prices are also super affordable as the company started with the simple idea of offering great skincare products at great prices to the US.

For my first product, I received the SECRET KEY Self Brow Tattoo Tint Pack. I chose #04 Ash Brown because its the only shade with grey undertones, which look the most natural on girls with black hair.

The peel-off makeup trend has piqued my interest for some time now so I was super excited to try this out! I always seemed to gravitate to my good old brow pencil but by stepping out of my comfort zone, hopefully I’ll discover a new holy grail for my brows!

Price: $6

Size: 8g

Scent: Glue. But that’s only because I intentionally took a giant whiff an inch away from the bottle. The scent is undetectable upon opening and application.

Ingredients (rough run through Google Translate…obviously some gibberish in there):

Purified water, ethanol polyvinyl alcohol, dihydroxyacetone, Butylene Glycol, Polysorbate 00. panthenol, aloe vera leaf extract, soybean extract, xanthan gum, camellia seeds, tocopheryl acetate, sodium chloride, hydroxyzine . 1.2-hexan di caprylyl glycol, phenoxyethanol, W quality hexyl glycerin, Red No. 227 methane, pansaek No. 4, Blue No. 1

The brush is fairly thick so that large amounts of product can be applied easily. You’re supposed to apply a thick, even layer as opposed to a thin one for optimal pigmentation. On the downside, this makes precise edges difficult to achieve.

Once dry, the tint became a thin, stretchy film. While I did lose around 2 hairs per brow upon removal, it was quick and painless. I found that the tint didn’t come off in one piece and had to be rubbed off in small parts because it was clinging onto my hairs. When I applied the tint to my arm for a swatch/longevity test, the dried tint actually came off by itself– indicating how easy it is to remove on smooth skin.

My initial reaction to the tint was how “sharpie” it looked. There’s no possible way to thin the product out near the inner corners of your brows or create a softer outline. I actually tried with my right brow and ended up with patchiness in that area. Keep in mind that your brows will look exactly like how you draw them with the tint except several shades lighter. The edges will be super sharp!

While the majority of my brows were a nice “khaki grey” color, the edges were faintly outlined with some gold color. Honestly speaking, I was a bit horrified with how unnatural things looked immediately after removal. For review’s sake, I decided to leave the brows be to see how they faded.

The next morning, I was pleasantly surprised at how natural things were looking! The edges had softened up and were looking very similar to how I normally fill in my brows. The areas with little to no hair (my inner corners) lightened up significantly while the areas dense with hair stayed dark.

My favorite days were 2-3, and I noticed that the darkness was virtually gone by day 5.

For my second test on my brows, I left the tint on for only 30 minutes and the end product was very similar. However, the color was extremely prone to smearing. The product also peeled off easily and pulled off no hairs. Definitely leave your brows alone for 24 hours if choosing to apply for only 30 minutes!

As for the longevity test, I decided to do two patches on my wrist. (Keep in mind that the results on my wrist are much different than the results on my brows because my face is oilier, and more prone to sweat.) The instructions recommend leaving the product on overnight for a more “intense” color so I applied one patch for 2 hours and the other for 8 hrs.

The morning after applying the overnight patch test, I found that the product had peeled off by itself during the night. As a result, I’m not completely sure if I had the product on for 8 hours, but I definitely know that it was longer than 2.

Applying the product for only 2 hours gives a more brown color, while applying overnight gives a darker, grey color. The darkness of both patches was consistent for 5 days until I decided to run water over it (I had avoided running water over it in the shower.)

Once in the shower, the color significantly lightened. The color then continued to fade gracefully when I resumed running water over my wrist in the shower.

On day 11, I cleansed my wrist with a cleansing foam and the color came right off. There is a SLIGHT trace of the product, but for the most part it was gone.

Overall, I would recommend this product to those who want to have brow makeup on while at the pool or water park. The color fades much quicker than expected and stays for 1-2 days if you cleanse per usual.

The peel off trend is fun, I admit, but definitely a gimmick!

Sundays With Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Vol. 866

by Lina Clémence July 20, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Rosie should have known better than to trust Marnie with Rosie’s investments.

After all, Marnie doesn’t have any background or credentials or expertise in financial planning.

There was no reason to think Marnie would be able to manage Rosie’s assets, but Rosie wanted to give her a chance.

Oh, well. Bad move on Rosie’s part.

Even someone of Rosie’s intellectual stature screws up sometimes.

Sure, she may understand quantum physics better than any other cat on the planet, but that doesn’t mean she understands compound interest.

Sigh…

Now Rosie has to think of a way of to recoup all those losses. Hmm… What could she invent?

I’m sure she’ll think of something. 🐱

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
