written by Lina Clémence

I love a quick hairstyle, and this easy scarf hairstyle tutorial is so easy for wavy / curly hair. It started as an experiment and has become my new fave hairstyle tutorial.

Sometimes when you don’t have the “right” hair accessories, you can end up creating an even better style. Inspired by my curly roll updo, this scarf hairstyle tutorial is a new fave.

The scarf you choose makes all the difference in the finished look – and you can use any kind of scarf you have at home.

So grab the nearest scarf and let’s get styling. Watch the video tutorial below.

This hairstyle tutorial was inspired by this curly roll hairstyle tutorial. You can also find a picture tutorial of the easy roll hairstyle here. I love creating easy tutorials for all hair types and this was so fun to style. You can change up the look in so many ways by the choice of scarf – experiment with prints, patterns and colours.

What type of scarf to use?

The scarf featured in my video was a gift so I don’t have a link – but anything lightweight will work.

I recommend using a silk or poly scarf and to fold it into a rectangle.

Look around at what you already have, try a fabric tie belt from a dress, or a strip of fabric to create a unique hairstyle.

The print, colour and pattern of your scarf makes this hairstyle one of a kind. And you can repeat this hairstyle, changing the scarf, and it will look like a completely new hairstyle.

Top 10 Monsoon-Proof Nail Art Ideas You Need This Season (+ Easy DIY Tips)

by Lina Clémence July 20, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

The monsoon season is here, and while we love the cosy weather, rain and humidity can wreak havoc on our nail art. Chipped polish, smudged designs, and dull-looking nails are common problems. But don’t worry! We have rounded up the top 10 monsoon-proof nail art ideas that will keep your nails looking vibrant, fresh, and Instagram-ready, no matter how wet it gets outside!

1. Gel Polish Magic

Gel nail polish is your best friend during the rainy season. It lasts longer, doesn’t chip easily, and retains shine despite humidity. Opt for gel-based manicures with bold colours like royal blue, deep green, or berry shades to brighten up grey, rainy days.

2. Rain Drop Nail Art

Celebrate the monsoon with adorable raindrop nail art! Use a glossy top coat to create 3D raindrop effects over pastel or sky blue nails. It’s minimal, chic, and totally on-theme.

DIY Tip: Use a dotting tool or the tip of a bobby pin to create perfect raindrop patterns.

3. Waterproof Matte Nails

Matte nails are less prone to smudging compared to glossy finishes during humid weather. Try waterproof matte nail polishes in earthy tones like mustard, olive, or maroon to complement your monsoon wardrobe.

4. Cloudy Sky Nails

Bring the cloudy skies to your fingertips with cloud-inspired nail art. Soft greys, whites, and light blues make for a dreamy combination.

Bonus Tip: Add tiny lightning bolt stickers or decals for an edgy twist.

5. Metallic & Chrome Nails

Shiny metallic or chrome nails reflect light beautifully, even on gloomy days. Plus, they are durable and can withstand occasional rain splashes without losing their lustre.

6. Monsoon Florals

Florals aren’t just for spring! Monsoon-themed floral nail art with darker backdrops like navy or forest green can make the colours pop and last longer.

DIY Hack: Use nail stamping kits for intricate floral patterns with ease.

7. Jelly Nails

Translucent jelly nails are trendy and perfect for monsoon. They give a playful, waterproof effect and can be customised with glitter or tiny fruit designs.

8. French Tips with a Twist

Instead of the classic white, go for vibrant neon or pastel French tips. They are simple yet eye-catching and don’t show chips as quickly.

9. Gradient Rainy Ombre

Try an ombre effect that mimics a rainy gradient – think grey fading into soft blue or purple. This subtle blend looks elegant and is less likely to show wear and tear.

10. Glitter Rain Nails

Add a sprinkle of glitter to your nails to mimic the shimmer of raindrops under streetlights. A glitter top coat not only beautifies but also adds an extra layer of protection.

Nail Care Tips for Monsoon:

  • Always apply a base coat to protect your nails from staining and moisture damage.

  • Use a good-quality top coat to seal in your nail art.

  • Keep your hands dry and moisturised to prevent fungal infections.

  • Avoid low-quality nail polishes that chip easily in humidity.

Final Thoughts

With these monsoon-proof nail art ideas, you can stay stylish even when the rain pours down! Don’t forget to share your creations on Instagram and tag us @CrazyNailzz for a chance to get featured.

FAQs

Q1. How can I make my nail polish last longer during the monsoon?
Apply a base coat, use gel or long-lasting polishes, and always finish with a high-quality top coat.

Q2. What are the best colours for monsoon nail art?
Deep greens, blues, berry shades, metallics, and pastel tones work great for the season.

Q3. Is matte or glossy better for monsoon?
Matte nails can resist smudging better in humidity, but a glossy gel finish with a top coat can also last long.

Lots of Love!!!

XOXO

Hello friends,

Happy March!  How fun to begin a brand-new month.  Today I fixed my hair in a simple short updo style.  I braided two small braids on either side of my hair, then made three braids with the remaining loose hair and arranged all my braids in place just so.  I love wearing short hairstyle just for the day, no cutting involved 🙂

Multi-Use Products for Easy Summer Beauty |

by Lina Clémence July 2, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Looking for high-impact, low-effort products for your summer beauty routine? Look no further than multi-use products for lip, cheek and more! We’ve rounded up our three faves – each with a different formula – to help you find the perfect double (or triple!) threat for your makeup bag.

During the summer, the last thing I want to do is feel like I’ve got a full face of makeup on. Don’t get me wrong: I still want to play with colour and look put-together; I just don’t want to mess around with 10 different products to achieve the look. It’s just too dang hot to deal with all that! Enter: the multi-use lip & cheek. These formulas have maximum payoff with minimum effort, leaving you more time for summer fun.

Our three faves are:

  • Tower 28’s OneLiner Pencil
  • KJH Brand’s Soft Smudge Lip & Cheek
  • Milk Makeup’s Cooling Water Jelly Tint

Each of these has a different formula but is a multi-hyphenate powerhouse, taking the place of 2-4 products in your kit. Read on to find out more about each one!

Tower 28’s OneLiner Multi-Liner

I have been using this multi-use product daily since it was released, and it has racked up its fair share of celeb fans, too. (Billie Eilish, for starters!) I love that it’s compact, mess-free, requires no brushes for application, and comes in six gorgeous shades.

In addition, Tower 28’s OneLiner ($22 at Sephora) is vegan and fragrance-free, so it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It also has a long-wear formula that isn’t drying, meaning you don’t have to worry about reapplying or unwanted flakiness.

Wearing Tower 28’s OneLiner Multi-Liner in Work of Art

OneLiner has a beautiful glide – no tugging at the eyes! – and blends seamlessly with just your fingers. I also love that I get a good amount of payoff per application without having to sharpen the pencil each time.

If you have oilier skin or are looking for a multi-use product that isn’t cream-based, I highly recommend you check out Tower 28’s OneLiner!

KJH Brand’s Soft Smudge Lip & Cheek

When a world-renowned makeup artist and educator launches their own line, you know it’s going to be good! Katie Jane Hughes is all about empowering people to understand and embrace how makeup works for them. She decided to put her decades of experience in development and artistry towards creating the products she always wished for, and KJH Brand was born!

I’ve raved about their Hyper Shine Light Pigment for years (I got to test it shortly before the launch, which was a dream!), but a hot new bombshell has entered the KJH villa: Soft Smudge Lip & Cheek ($30).

Wearing KJH Brand’s Soft Smudge Lip & Cheek in Soft Berry

This multi-use product has an innovative cream-to-powder formula, meaning it applies easily but has insane long-wear power and doesn’t transfer. Available in five stunning shades, ranging from bright coral to deep raisin, Soft Smudge is buildable, allowing you to go from sheer to bold in just a few swipes. You can apply it with a brush for a more blurred application, or direct from the tube for higher impact.

And –  as with all KJH Brand products – Soft Smudge is designed to play well with others. Add a drop of KJH’s Hyper Shine Serum and the formula becomes opaque and glossy. Mix in some of the Hyper Shine Lite Pigment and you’ve got a sumptuous glow. The applications are endless! (Which is kind of the whole point.)

Milk Makeup’s Cooling Water Jelly Tint

This groundbreaking multi-use product shook the beauty world upon its launch, and though it has since been imitated, its innovation has never been replicated. Milk Makeup’s Cooling Water Jelly Tint ($36 at Sephora) is truly one of the coolest (ha!) products I have ever encountered, and I use it daily. It has mad payoff (seriously; a little goes a long way) and feels incredible on the skin, providing long-lasting, juicy colour with basically no effort.

Available in six gorgeous shades plus one pH-adaptive tint, there is truly a Cooling Water Jelly Tint for every mood. (I have three different colours and will probably buy the full range eventually!) The jelly formula encapsulates the pigment to keep it moist, giving the product a longer shelf life than most stains and maintaining the high-impact colour.

This lip & cheek tint also contains vegan collagen, aloe, and seawater to soothe, plump, and hydrate the skin. The whole “cooling” aspect isn’t just marketing – this multi-use product feels genuinely refreshing on your skin! Exactly what you need during the muggy summer months.

Multi-Love for Multi-Use Products!

The benefits of a multi-use product reach beyond ease of use. Financially, you’re saving money by purchasing one item instead of a few different ones. Ecologically, you’re creating less waste. And, for us condo dwellers, saving space in one’s makeup drawer is a game-changer. Each of these is reason enough to explore using products that work double- or triple-duty, but when the products themselves are this good, it’s an absolute no-brainer!

Whether you’re looking for a multi-use product to reduce your consumption, to save money, time, or space, or simply because you love the products, I hope this has helped you decide which multi-use product might be right for you.

Which multi-use product is your summer must-have?

Easy DIY ZOOM Hairstyles | Cute Girls Hairstyles

by Lina Clémence June 7, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

With all the #Zoom classes going on, Rylan is back today to teach you her 3 EASY DIY Zoom Hairstyles that can each be done in 1-3 minutes! If you are like Rylan, you want to sleep in AS MUCH AS YOU CAN until that first Zoom call in the AM, so a quick 1-minute hairstyle tutorial gets you that much closer! Which one is your favorite?

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, hair elastics, bobby pins, scrunchie, bandana or head scarf, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 1-3 minutes each

Skill Level: Easy

Double Pigtails with Braid Cuffs

Part your hair down the middle of the head. Section off a small square section on the right of the part, and secure with a small elastic. Section off a small square section on the left of the part (equal to that of the right), and secure with a small elastic. Take 2 decorative braid cuffs and clamp them down near the base of each pigtail. Lastly, add hairspray (if desired)!

Half-Up Low Scrunchie Bun

Part your hair however you prefer, right, left, or center. Part the hair back using your thumbs above each ear and secure in the back with a large scrunchie into a bun. Adjust the scrunchie to get the desired tightness/looseness desired for the bun. Add hairspray (if desired)!

Headscarf Headband

Part your hair however you prefer, right, left, or center. Take a bandana or silk headscarf and fold it once diagonally. Then take the headscarf and fold it down several times to your desired width (and secure the tiny triangle tip using the bobby pin hack I show you). Place the folded scarf evenly at the base of your neck, and bring the ends up and over the hair and secure using the first step of a knot. Instead of tying the seconds step of a knot bring each end down and secure behind the ear with a bobby pin. Add hairspray (if desired)!

Cartier Oud and Musc and Easy Ouds

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I have a few friends to thank for the discovery of Cartier’s Oud and Musc. I’m not drawn to many oud perfumes, but after hearing many positive reviews from friends, a bag of discarded samples coincidentally made its way to me, and happened to have a few from Cartier’s oud in it. Oud and Vanilla seems to be the crowd favourite and is much easier to wear, but I finished my sample Oud and Musc and wasn’t done deconstructing it in my head. I had to get a bottle so I could wear it some more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To me, this is everything I wanted the famed Muscs Kublai Khan to be. It’s animalic, a dirty barnyardy oud melding an animalic musk. A clean musk lies in the background and patchouli smoulders in the background. It’s easy to wear and even though it says “parfum” at the bottom of the bottle, the atomizer dispenses a fine luxurious mist that’s not overly potent. It feels more like an eau de toilette. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve never understood how people could bear the animalic facets of oud until I smelled this line. It’s one where the wait is worth it because although it smells weird at first spray, the dry down has a cozy friendly warmth that reminds me of warm hugs, doggy fur, clean skin. Layer this with anything you want and make it your own, but wear it on skin to really experience the best of it.

I like it with Shalimar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Oud and Santal seems to be a popular one from this line too and it’s quite lovely.

My Super Easy Exfoliating Coffee Scrub Recipe

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

We get through a lot of coffee in our household; both Charlie and I adore coffee, and as you may know, we each have our own coffee machine! I recently upgraded my coffee machine to the wonderful Ninja Luxe Cafe, which is a well-priced bean-to-cup coffee machine that makes delicious coffee. I’ve got into a good habit of using our discarded coffee grounds in the garden in autumn and winter; the grounds are full of nutrients and therefore can improve the nutrition of your soil. However, it’s not advised to add coffee grounds to your soil during spring, as it can be a bit intense for your young shoots.

This led me to think of another way to use my discarded grounds (waste not, want not!); by creating an exfoliating coffee scrub! Coffee grounds have the perfect texture to gently exfoliate the skin, plus they are rich in antioxidants which can help protect the skin from damage. Read on for my coffee scrub recipe, which can be used on your hands, body and face!

Ingredients

Medium sized jar

150g coffee grounds

75g coconut oil

75g brown sugar

10 drops of an essential oil (I used lime & lemongrass)

Method

Spread your coffee grounds out in a tray and leave them somewhere to dry out for at least 30 minutes, such as in the sun or on top of a radiator.

Add the coconut oil to your glass jar and either microwave it for 30s or place in the oven (set to 100C) for around 5 minutes until the coconut oil has totally melted.

Remove the jar from the oven and add in 10 drops of your essential oil, your coffee grounds and the sugar then stir.

The texture of your scrub should resemble wet sand.

Use your scrub liberally on your face, body and hands when you’re in need of exfoliation!
