[Unboxing] Spring FabFitFun – Asian Beauty Obsessed

by Lina Clémence July 7, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Very cute box for Spring!

I was very excited to see what they had for the Spring box – the Winter box I just purchased because I wanted the bluetooth shower speaker that bad, lol. This one I decided to go ahead and just keep trying.

Cardigan

The cardigan is very soft and seems well-knit – it looks great layered over my clothes. It’s a loose fit but it still looks great! I’ve been liking it enough.

A body wash sponge

I’m not sure why this says “multiuse”? But it’s a pretty good all-in-one product, it’s just heavily scented, so if you don’t like scents you might not want this. To be honest it’s cute but it’s only useful if you care about having a two-in-one product… I like to switch up my body washes sometimes so it’s not something I’ll be buying again? Probably?

Cute longer necklace

I NEVER wear necklaces because I’m weird about it and I hate how necklaces hang when you bend over and get in the way of things. BUT I was willing to give this one a chance – I’ll admit, I’ve only worn it once since I bought it but to be fair it’s only because the lock-down situation with COVID has prevented me from happening on occasions to dress up and leave my house except for groceries. After all this becomes semi-normal and I actually have work meetings again, I’ll definitely be wearing this with my business casual outfits. It’s cute! I actually like it. (And I’m surprised by how much this costs??)

Scented hand cream

I actually like this one – it’s moisturizing but not too thick, absorbs quickly and it’s a very subtle scent – I was expecting some heavy scent here because it’s advertised as some relaxing lotion. I was pleasantly surprised!

Tinted chapstick

I absolutely LOVED this thing!! I’ve seen Winky Lux products in stores before (before the lock-down, anyway) and I was always hesitant to buy them because the packaging reminded me of the stuff I would buy when I was a pre-teen and I just wasn’t sure how good it would be. I guess I should’ve looked up reviews, because this stuff is SO hydrating for my lips – it’s actually better than my favorite DHC chapstick from Japan. What!! Except it does have a tint to it so I don’t put it on before bed. For those who like a very hydrating/moisturizing lip product that gives a hint of color that makes your lips look naturally pretty – this is it! I would 100% buy this again.

Kitchen towels

These tea towels – I’ll be honest here. I would never have bought these. Not in a million years. But the minute I pulled these out of the box, while I showed signs of disappointment, my husband grabbed these and said how much he loved them. I was taken by surprise, but he says these are great and he rinses and dries them after each use with our espresso machine – so hey, there’s a use for them after all! I never would have known what to do with them. There you go!

Packing set

These I have not even touched – again, lock-down over here – so I will have to give my opinion on these later with an update. They’re cute I guess, and you can see the contents it seems because part of it is see-through. Three different sizes… made in China… not much else to say here!

Setting Spray

So this is the stuff of legends, here. I heard about this back when I was right in the thick of my makeup-reviewing groove sometime last year or the year before (I lost track) – and this stuff was raved about by one of my favorite YouTubers and I was pretty excited to pull THIS out of the box! Awesome stuff, as advertised, it did make my makeup last longer but to be honest it could have a finer spray. It’s not as bad as the ELF sprayer but I’ve had finer misters as well.

Gift card with purchase requirement

This is useless. Comes with each box, I recycle it each time. It’s only useful if you actually want to buy the subscription in the first place because if you read the fine print they only give you a discount on each month for the first several months or whatever – none of them are actually free anyway. Meh!

Byte promotion

Also some random Byte lippie promotional stuff, I also recycled it. Meh!

Spring magazine

This is the guide to all the products in the box – it’s okay, it’s nice to flip through but to be honest they should just have an app and upload the info to it to save paper. You only really look at it once, right?

It’s a nice subscription but they could definitely improve it. I’ll keep it for now and see what happens next time! It’s still not a bad deal considering what was in it for Winter and Spring. Let’s see if I still like the Summer package!

This week I’m (really) obsessed with… Briogeo Superfoods Acai + Passionfruit Lightweight Hydration Hair Mask!

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Anyone who knows me even a little knows I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with beauty products that smell like food – preferably fruit, because who wouldn’t want to smell like a tropical snack bar? I’m convinced the folks at Briogeo hacked into my brain, did a little aromatherapeutic mind-reading, whipped up the exact scent I’d lose my mind over and then bottled it in the new Superfoods Açaí + Passionfruit Lightweight Hydration Hair Mask. It’s like a smoothie for your hair – and yes, I’ve thought about tasting it. (No, I didn’t. Okay, maybe just once…)

Briogeo Superfoods Acai + Passionfruit Lightweight Hydration Hair Mask – 240ml – $53 – a lightweight, superfood-infused mask with a water-cream texture to deeply hydrate fine strands without sacrificing volume or weighing hair down and infused with a juicy, tropical, passionfruit-inspired scent (which is amazing!)

It’s perfect for fine and medium hair – be it straight, wavy or curly – to sort out dryness, frizz and add shine. The vegan formula contains a concentrated blend of phytonutrients that nourishes hair without sacrificing volume including: acai extract – to protect strands from environmental aggressors; passionfruit oil – to boost moisture and add shine; and hydration complex – to deeply hydrate parched hair.

Okay, I know I keep going on about how good this smells (and yes, you’re probably over it), but honestly  it smells so incredible that I wouldn’t even be mad if it didn’t work. I’d just walk around huffing my own hair like a weirdo. But plot twist – it actually works really well.

Now, I love a good hair mask, but most of them are so thick and moisturizing that they leave my fine hair looking less like a shampoo commercial and more like I lost a battle with an oil slick. This one, though – total game-changer! It’s got this light-as-air, water-cream texture that leaves my hair softer, smoother, shinier without even a hint of grease.

And the scent? Ohhh the scent… It’s described as sweet, slightly tart berries meeting fresh, crisp greens with a juicy, tropical finish – and honestly, that’s poetry. It’s like a fruity vacation in a jar. 10/10, no notes.

Available now at Sephora stores across Canada and online at sephora.ca.

– Lisamarie –

BTW, did I mention that it smells amazing?!

[Review] Esfolio Berry Mix Sun Cream – Asian Beauty Obsessed

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I got this from my recent YesStyle Haul! If you’ve been reading my posts for years, you know from my time in Taiwan that Esfolio is one of my all-time favorite companies. I bought their sheet masks religiously while I was in Taiwan and now I can find them pretty frequently at my local Marshall’s or TJ-Maxx.

Anyway, when I saw this I couldn’t resist trying it out! I was in need of a sunscreen anyway and this called my name. Here’s the packaging with the ingredients:

I think it’s great that they list the percentages for each fruit/plant extract that they promote – sometimes when they promote certain ingredients and they don’t list how much is in the product I feel slightly skeptical. I like the transparency here! I put the ingredients that they are promoting in their ad for the product in bold.

Here’s the list of ingredients more clearly:

Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract (9.56%), Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract (9.56%), Fragaria Ananassa (Strawberry) Fruit Extract (9.56%), Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract (9.56%), Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract (9.56%), Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract (9.56%), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Dipropylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Glycerin, Dimethicone, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor, Octocrylene, Niacinamide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Hydroxyacetophenone, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Adenosine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aluminum Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Chlorphenesin, Fragrance

Besides the fruit extracts, I like seeing Niacinamide in there for evening out my skin tone and calming my skin down. I also like that “fragrance” is the last ingredient in there – it’s true, too, there isn’t much of a scent to this product.

Also, the front of the box advertises that 57.36% of the product is the “Berry Mix” and if you add up the percentages in the list, it’s true.

Twist-off cap and standard foil
Swatch

It’s called a sun cream and it feels like one! When I put it on, it reminds me of a light moisturizer – my skin feels softer after application. It does give my normal-type skin a nice, soft glow, so I think this would be great for dry- to normal-types but I would be a little hesitant to recommend it to oily-skin types because I would worry it would be a bit too glowy for them.

It has both UVA & UVB protection. This Sun Cream by Esfolio is one of four in their Sun Cream line – this one is called “Anti-Wrinkle” and comes in a pink tube, but they also have other versions:

They promote that they don’t use water as a filler in their ingredients, and instead use their extracts – which is true. They say there’s no white cast – I didn’t experience any! I took pictures on very sunny days and you can’t tell I’m wearing it. It doesn’t feel oily, it feels more like a light moisturizer, so I’d agree with their statements – even the “NO high cost”, haha!

I’ve been using this daily for about a week now, and I’ve been really liking it. It didn’t break me out and it plays well with my foundations so far. It keeps my skin moisturized, to boot!

I bought this on YesStyle for $5.72 (original listing price is $15.90 – as of right now it’s still on sale!). This is such a bargain that I’ll definitely be buying this again! Love the ingredients, love the product!

Hope this helped!! ❤

P.S. I’ve been a long-time customer of YesStyle (I’m talking years) and I’ve got a discount for you if you’d like use them! Use “ABOBSESSED20” to get 5% off your order!
