SALT.

Olfactory magic in Mx. creates the scent of salt without using any of the actual material. Maybe it’s the use of spices that are adjacent to the salt in my kitchen that gives me that salty scent, without it just being mineralic like sea water. There’s a warm dry cocoa, a bit of piquant ginger, but all of them are far away and out of reach so it’s like I’m getting a memory of them not even the actual flavour. It’s the faded dustiness of opening a spice cupboard and reaching for something savoury instead of something sweet.

It’s the perfect perfume when you’re sitting inside and watching a blizzard.⠀⠀⠀⠀

Kali ini aku ada review special tentang produk produk andalan L’Oreal Professionel Paris SerieExpert yang aku dapet dari The Shonet (Thankyouuuuuu very mucha) well but I can’t really say it’s a review since I haven’t got the chance to use it for more than a week, I’m just gonna give you my first impression on all of the products I’ve got.

L’Oreal Professionel Paris SerieExpert ini beda dengan L’Oreal Paris yang bisa kalian temuin di supermarket and drugstores, you can only find this one online or di salon yang kerja sama dengan L’Oreal. dan yang pastinya, seri ini lebih bagus lagi dibanding yang lain karena mereka memang for professional use dan sesuai namanya Serie Expert!

So Let’s start this First Impression review, shall we?

Shampoo

Shampoo with a professional formula enriched with vitamin PP, B6 and with OMEGA 6* to help nourish the roots, restore shine and give the feeling of renewed density to thinning hair. This thickening cocktail covers each hair strand in rich lipids to increase diameter and body leaving hair supremely supple under control with improved volume.

Shampoo ini di design untuk rambut yang rontok dan menipis dari akar. Shampoo ini juga punya Omega 6 yang baik dalam memberikan respons pro-inflammatory untuk pertumbuhan kembali rambut yang sehat. Punya ingredients yang lembut sehingga lebih mudah dipakaikan ke rambut dan tidak membuat kusut rambut. Shampoo ini juga memelihara dan membantu untuk membuat rambut terlihat lebih ber-volume, serta memperkuat kutikula dan batang rambut.

I love the scents of this shampoo, it has soothing shampoo kayak gimana yah jelasinnya, wangi nya tuh kayak kalo kamu ke tempat spa, dipakein wewangian yang baunya soothing and relaxing, nah shampoo ini wanginya kayak gitu. Shampoonya colorless. 

Lumayan tahan bantu ga lepek selama dua hari. dan bantu rambutnya ga bau juga, karena memang ada fragrance dan Aku lumayan amazed dengan shampoo ini, dan aku udah pake 2x sekarang. It doesn’t dry out my hair, sebaliknya bener-bener ngelembutin jadi rambut rusakku ga ketarik-tarik padahal ga pake conditioner juga. rambutku jadi kurang banget rontoknya (sebagian besar rambut rontokku karena batang rambutnya udah lemah banget), jadi shampoonya halus dan lembut di rambut. I might have to use it more to know if it really works for thinning hair. But for first impression, DEE SUKA BANGET!

Shampoo ini didesign untuk rambut yang sudah di warnai, untuk menjaga ketahanan warna rambut serta membantu kesehatan rambut. Shampoonya juga dapat membuat rambut lebih berkilau, dan ada UV protection nya. Main Ingredients nya Neohespiridin, Tocopherol and Panthenol.

Shampoo nya liquid warna putih susu gitu. Punya wangi yang refreshing dan ga menyengat berlebihan.

Jadi dulu aku pernah pake ini, waktu rambutku masih warna pink. aku belum coba lagi yang sekarang yang katanya new formula, but that time, waktu rambut aku pink, shampoo ini ga buat shiny, ga buat bantu rambut aku berkilau, dan ga se wah seperti yang di klaim bakal protect color, karena warna pink ku, pake ga pake shampoo tetep 2 minggu ilang, dan aku berkali-kali retouch wrna pink nya. 

Cuman mungkin untuk di rambut yang cuman bleach 1x dan hanya warna-warna coklat lebih terlihat hasilnya dibanding yang warna kayak aku waktu itu. Yang aku suka dari shampoo ini, ga buat rambut kusut kering dan banyak busa dan wanginya yang tahan lama dirambut.

Serum

Applied directly to the scalp every day for three months, it boosts the hair density of + 1000 hair in 6 weeks * and + 1600 hair at the end of the treatment, the combination of neohesperidin and stemoxydine adds volume and densifies hair. *clinical study, 79 subjects for 6 weeks.

Hair serum ini khusus digunakan di kulit kepala. terlebih lagi untuk mereka yang mulai ngerasa rambut menipis. Rambut bisa menjadi lebih tebal dan padat terutama bagian kulit kepala. Diformulasikan dengan Stemoxydine dan Neohesperidin yang terbukti dapat melindungi terhadap stres oksidatif untuk memastikan fungsinya dengan benar.

size: 90ml – 3.04fl.oz | Expiration date: 18m after opening.

Baik digunakan setiap hari saat malam selama minimal 3 bulan. Gunakan secukupnya hingga mengenai semua kulit kepala. Baiknya di gunakan pada kulit kepala yang kering, bisa juga digunakan setelah keramas dalam keadaan kering handuk. Pijat pelan jika diperlukan. Tidak perlu bilas lagi dan biarkan mengering sendiri.

Kalo dari botol ada bau alcohol yang lumayan kenceng, tapi baunya hilang pas udah di kepala, ga bikin berminyak, lepek or lengket. Ada cooling effect pas dipake di kepala enak banget! Aku ga ngerasa gatel juga setelah pake ini. Aku sekali pake bisa abis 1 pencet pipetnya. bisa 8 drops for whole head dan isinya pun banyakk!

botol dan pipet nya itu glass, jadi harus super hati2 banget!

I can’t say much about this one. Karena Aku baru pake 2 kali cuman sehabis keramas, dan pastinya hasilnya belum keliatan yah! Dibilangnya minimal 3 bulan, jadi akan aku pantau sampai 3 bulan kedepan, akan aku taro di ig aku yah!

L’oreal Serie Expert Liss Unlimited Evening Primrose Oil helps create beautiful, smooth, frizz free hair. This product is the one of the newest additions to the Liss Ultime family. Unlimited primrose Oil is specially formulated for individuals with rebellious hair.This product helps to tame hair frizz, fly aways and ease styling. Helps protect against humidity and heat styling.

Sangat direcommend untuk rambut kasar dan susah diatur. Oil ini dapat memberikan instant smoothness dan anti-frizz protection. sangat di recommend untuk yang senang pake catok dan blow rambut. Oil ini juga kaya akan keratin dan dapat membuat rambut berkilau.

Evening Primrose Oil: This oil is full of Omega-6, a fatty acid indispensable for healthy hair. The penetrating oil enables the facilitation of smoother hair, allowing for it to be stronger and easier to brush and blow-dry. Can be used on wet/dry hair before styling or using hair dryer.

Kalo di loreal biasa mungkin ini tuh kayak Extraordinary Oil nya yah. Tapi ini lebih ke oil yang buat preparation sebelum rambutmu di hair dry or di styling pake catokan.

Oil nya colorless, cuman botolnya aja warna ungu. untuk aku yang udah sering pake extraordinary oil yang warna gold dan pink, oil ini termasuk cair. cair banget. Which I don’t really like, aku lebih suka yang lebih kental. Punya wangi yang lebih ketara dibanding Extraordinary oil yang gold tapi ga se wangi yang warna pink. jadi di tengah-tengah.

Aku pake ini juga baru 2x sehabis keramas dalam keadaan rambut kering handuk, dan 1x pas keadaan kering belum sempat coba di styling setelahnya. Di rambutku yang super kering karena kebanyakan bleaching ini hasilnya ngebantu banget! it gives more moisture for my dry and damaged hair, instant smoothness yes, anti-frizz yes! shiny hair, so-so. buat rambutnya jadi gampang diatur, yes! 

Banyakan hal yang bagus sih dari oil ini. so i’m quite satisfied walau pake baru 3x. Aku tapi lebih suka pake pas dalam keadaan rambut kering, ga bikin berminyak and lepek juga. bikin rambut extra wangi iyah!

Last but not least,

Hair Mask

L’Oréal Professionnel Série Expert Absolut Repair Lipidium Masque was created to target damaged hair and leave it feeling stronger and much easier to manage. This rinse out mask is based on Lipidium Technology, a cocktail of Lipids, Ceramides, Phyto-Keratin and Lactic Acid to delivery instant shine, smoothness and softness to curly, wavy, straight, natural, fine, or thick hair. L’Oréal Absolut Repair Lipidium Masque, a mask that was inspired by skincare treatments will provide deep long-lasting conditioning and damage repair done by use of chemicals, heat styling tools and external aggressors including sun, salt and chlorinated water. Hair will be left softer and shiner with stronger healthier look.

Hair Mask ini di recommend untuk mereka yang punya rambut super rusak dan damaged, like me! Diperkaya akan ingredients Lipids, Ceramides, Phyto-Keratin and Lactic Acid. Membantu memberikan struktur serat rambut yang lebih sehat. mask ini dapat memberikan kelembutan dan kilau rambut secara instant.

Dipakai setelah keramas, dalam rambut keadaan basah. Apply keseluruh rambut secara rata, dan diamkan for about 3-5mins (boleh lebih), lalu bilas bersih dengan air saja.

Mask ini punya thick consistency, kalo kalian balik pot nya isinya ga akan tumpah, saking padet cream nya. Punya wangi yang sebenernya buat aku ga enak >.<

Aku baru pake ini kemarin, dan in my opinion, it didn’t help my hair at all. Aku harus coba lagi next week yah, Jadi shampoo aku pake yang density advanced, no condi abis itu langsung mask. not sure why malah jadi drying di rambutku afterwards, dan rambutku susah kering, which normally kalo malem keramas bawa tidur dengan rambut yang kering handuk, rambutku pagi udah kering, sedangkan ini jadi ga bisa kering sendiri.

Aku ga dapet instant smooth efek malah sebaliknya. Shiny still tapi karena aku pake primrose oil nya. so I’m gonna test this one again to see if I use it in a wrong way before or emang dirambutku yang damaged ini ga ngaruh.

So, that’s it for my review! Aku bakal update yang masque, serum and oil nya lagi setelah cukup lama pakenya biar hasilnya lebih keliatan.

Kemasan: Dikemas dalam bentuk botol dengan pump one push lock yang safe untuk selama proses pengiriman. Tapi tidak cocok untuk dibawa berpergian, karena setelah diunlock pumpnya tidak bisa dikunci kembali.

Review: Tidak lengket, dan mudah dibilas. Wangi baby nya menenangkan 😀 Oh ya busanya juga tidak terlalu berlebihan, jadi membuat kulit tetap lembab dan tidak kering.

Deskripsi Produk: Menjaga kelembaban kulit tubuh, membantu merawat kulit tampak cerah, halus dan lembut (size: 120gr)

Kemasan:

Review: Teksturnya lembut dan halus. Tidak terlalu lengket dan cukup cepat menyerap. Wangi floralnya enak banget 😀

Deskripsi Produk: Membantu merawat kulit tampak cerah, halus dan lembut. Melindungi kulit dari efek negatif paparan sinar mathari (size: 120gr)

Review: Mirip dengan body butternya, teksturnya lembut dan cepat menyerap. Sekali pemakaian akan membuat kulit terasa lebih cerah, karena menaikkan tone kulit. Dengan pemakaian rutin, dapat cerah dalam 3 minggu

Deskripsi Produk: Bekerja sebagai exfoliant kulit, menjadikan kulit tampak halus dan lembut (size: 120gr)

Review: Favorit banget nih 😀 wanginya enak banget dan dapat mencerahkan dengan pemakaian rutin. Kalau di aku belum terlalu kelihatan hasilnya sih, tapi bikin wanginya bikin relax dan cepat menyerap.

This review of the Jumiso Have a Good Cream Snail & Centella is long overdue,  but I enjoyed this moisturizer so much, that I wanted to share my opinion with you nonetheless. It is a deeply hydrating moisturizer suited for all skin types and day and night use.

The Korean brand Jumiso is part of the brand Helloskin and is directed towards meeting all consumer needs. Their brand name is composed of  “Ju” for ” to give”, and “miso” for “smile”. This is even visualized in their smiling brand logo. To me, the brand is probably best and widely known for the All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum, which has been loved by many within the skincare enthusiast community. But today, I will talk about this wonderful cream called Jumiso Have A Good Cream.


Jumiso Have A Good Cream Snail & Centella

This hydrating and soothing cream is directed towards all skin types and for use during night and day. It is a very simple cream, but this makes it probably so much more worth a try.  Noteworthy are the two focus ingredients, that are snail secretion filtrate and Centella Asiatica extract. The snail extract delivers great hydration and anti-inflammatory properties, while the Centella extract also helps to repair the skin.

Snail Secretion Filtrate

Snail Mucus or snail secretion filtrate claims to be rich in hyaluronic acid and antioxidants and thus help our skin to regenerate stimulating the formation of collagen, elastin, and dermal components that repair the signs of photoaging. Also, it claims to minimize the damage generated by free radicals that are responsible for premature skin aging (there is a Wikipedia entry for snail mucus, too). The snail mucus is not obtained by harming the snails, but it is collected in so-called snail farms.

Centella Asiatica

Centella Asiatica extracts have been used in traditional medicine and are still used today, having beneficial properties like wound-healing. Scientific studies have shown that continuous application of the extract can promote collagen-building, act anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidative. The purified extract of Centella Asiatica is called TECA. It is a standardized extract composed of Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, and Madecassic acid. It is used in skincare targeting wound-healing, scarred skin, sensitive skin, but also seems to be effective on cellulite.

Apart from these two ingredients, the composition of the cream is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, and free from allergens according to the EU. Furthermore, it contains panthenol and hyaluronic acid, which are both known for their wound-healing and hydrating properties. I also spotted bacillus ferment and oils (macadamia and jojoba) among the ingredients:

The texture of the cream is like you’d expect it to be. A white-colored cream, that is not as stiff as Nivea, for example, but glides softly and feels very moisturizing and melty. It absorbs nicely and doesn’t pill when using sunscreen or BB creams on top. I used up the 50g of cream in such a short time because my skin loved it so much- and of course, it worked great during the day, but also for the night-time routine. Since my skin is dry, I definitely enjoyed all the hydrating properties of the cream, but the soothing properties were a plus during the night. I also mixed drops of oil into the cream for my night routine, to make it even richer.

If you have a dry skin type like me, I can assume, that you will like this cream. Also, if you are looking for minimal skincare products, this cream is a good choice, because it works during morning and evening skincare routines and contains hydrating and repairing properties. Aku sangat penasaran dengan watermelon glow mask ini. I’ve used sleeping mask before and in love with it and to finally try this one out lebih exciting lagi. I heard alot of good reviews about it!

Watermelon Glow Mask is also known as a sleeping mask or mask that is used overnight during sleep which serves to moisturize and protect the face during sleep. It makes your face glow and brighter in the morning. 

Watermelon Glow Mask use watermelon and banana as their main ingredients.

Watermelon has a very high water content and serves to provide maximum moisture to the face. Watermelon is also rich of antioxidants that could protect facial skin from the effects of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Banana has potassium that strengthen the antioxidant which can also give your skin an extra moisture. Pisang contains 22% of vitamin B-6 dan 17% of vitamin C, vitamin A and E, niacin, riboflavin, zinc dan selenium.

There’s more ingredients used for this mask, which are Evening Primrose for preventing irritation and reducing the appearance of redness, it can also improve skin elasticity.

There’s also Polyglutamic Acid, that helps to moisturize the skin, brightening the skin, also maintaning skin pH balance.

I love how they use pink color for the tube. it looks classy.

Lacoco ini against animal testing and also it’s paraben free

so it’s very safe to use for the skin.

It has quite a nice smell that actually disappear after applied to the face, so it’s very mild. too bad it smells nothing like watermelon for me.

It has quite a watery texture instead of thick and oily. It’s also well absorbed to the skin! a bit sticky at first but then after a while, since it’s well absorbed, it’s not sticky anymore.

You only need few amount of products and it’s enough for the whole face, for my case.

How to use:

Use this mask last after all your skin care routine.

apply generous amount to the face and neck, leave it overnight

wash thoroughly in the morning.

Nah I wanna share my experience here,

I’ve used this for a almost a month. dan for the first 2-3 weeks kulitku lagi sangat bermasalah.

I’m pretty sure it’s not because of the mask, but If I may guess it’s because I tried new toner/skin conditioner or new face wash yang ternyata ga cocok. my skin’s getting less itchy and better after I stop using that products and kinda stop this mask also for a while and just let me skin breathe for couple days, then I continue using this again.

the glow mask is kinda sticky IF you wear too much, but if it’s just generous amount, it’s not as sticky and as I said before, it’s very well absorbed.

Pertama pakai di kulit sangat lembab dan beneran paginya berasa supple banget kulitnya. but I have to say this product DOESN’T HELP with soothing my redness and irritation. It doesn’t help either with my acne, yang kalo aku boleh compare sama sleeping mask yang aku pakai sebelumnya itu bener2 bantu my irritated skin and most of the times, acne.
you can see my picture up there, it’s like nothing change for my skin tho. 

I don’t use alot of layers of skincare coz the more I use, the more my skin irritated and it’s super annoying, so i’m using a very basic skincare which is toner, moisturized, eye cream, acne spot gel and last but not least sleeping mask. 

I feel using less means more to my skin. the more skincare I use, the more my skin feels too oily and dehydrated. I don’t know why but that’s how I felt.

Jadi intinya sih ini ga sesuai expectation.

it gives my skin nice moisture, but sometimes too much jadi agak oily in the morning instead of glowy. Glowy dan Oily berbeda yah sis!

I see no face brigthening juga karena wajahku tetap merah-merah, which the claim said it helps reducing the redness, but not for my case.

I’m not saying that this is a bad product, I can’t even say it’s a bad product just because it doesn’t fit my expectation. It’s just kulitku aja mungkin yang ga cocok. But hey, aku baru pake sebulanan loh!

How to use:
Use 3-4 pumps place to your hand, apply it to your feminine area that’s dry and clean.
wait till it absorbed well. do not wash after use.

It has very liquidy texture, bener-bener cair dan ini sama skali ga lengket
it has also a very subtle scent, no after effect suck as being oily after application.
it’s well absorbed kalo ditangan but down there might take a while. 



Here’s my experience!
I’ve never use anything like this before, biasa aku cuman pake feminine wash and biasa pake lotion aja dibagian luarnya. So it’s kinda my first time, which I have no expectation whatsoever for this product. Aku pake sehari cuman sekali and I use usually 2 pumps only. it took a while to absorbed like I said before.


one thing yang aku kaget sebenernya, cos I thought this product should be something that against bad things but instead bad stuff happens.
Aku sadar setelah memakai ini selama 2 minggu, bagian luar area V ku jadi super duper gatel yang sangat ga bisa kalo ga di garuk, jadinya malah luka.
I don’t know why, beberapa temenku pake ini fine-fine aja, di aku malah jadi gatel parah. 
jadi cause redness and jadi pake celana dalam ga nyaman, 

So I decided to stop using it and back using lotion like i used to do,
Gatelnya ga langsung ilang but lama lama ilang gatelnya setelah totally berhenti pake ini.
why is this happening to me?
Aku pernah ngalamin 2x area V ku gatel dan sampe bawa ke dokter di kasih obat, Aku kira ini kambuh, cuman ternyata gatelnya beda tempat and pas berhenti pake jadi mulai menghilang gatelnya berarti karena productnya.

Aku memang ga expect apapun sih dari ini, but to experience such discomfort is not a pleasant experience.
THIS IS NOT A BAD PRODUCT! karena kenyataannya banyak yang coba dan cocok, berarti kulitku aja yang emang ga cocok.
Adakah yang coba pake ini dan ngalamin kayak aku?

So I guess that’s my review of these 2 products.
I notice as I get older, my skin becomes more sensitive and picky. Not all natural claimed products suits my skin also, when I thought isn’t it supposed to be safer to use? but why my skin reacts differently?
Even I can’t use any kind of body moisturizer, dulu bisa pake apa aja, sekarang ga bisa.
Punggung ku bisa jadi jerawatan kalo ga cocok sama lotionnya.

Sebagai pecinta kosmetik Jepang garis keras, aku langsung super-excited begitu tau ada produk ini. Produk buatan Jepang dan halal? It’s like YASSSSSSSS DEFINITELY WILL TRY! Okay, now it’s time to share more about the brand and product: Momohime.

Momohime adalah skin care brand dari Jepang yang punya spesialisasi moisturizing. Kandungan utamanya sudah ketahuan dari namanya: buah Persik. Ada 7 kandungan pelembap di setiap produk Momohime: ekstrak buah Persik, jus buah Persik, ekstrak biji buah Perrsik, ekstrak daun Sakura, ekstrak daun Perilla, kolagen terhidrolisa dari ikan, dan Asam Hyaluronat Na. Selain itu, semua produk Momohime juga mengandung vitamin C, ekstrak jeruk mandarin, botanical sqwaran, dan Arbutin. 

Produknya juga punya teknologi liquid crystallization, sehingga mampu melembabkan sekaligus mencerahkan kulit. Cocok untuk semua jenis kulit, bahkan kulit kering dan sensitif sekali pun.

Produk dikemas dalam kemasan boks dan pump bottle berukuran 30ml. Aku suka banget sih dengan dominasi warna yang super gemash dan bernuansa sparkling pearls gitu.. Desain bentuknya juga cantik, sukaaak.

Cuma aku memang merasa desain logo dan print pada kemasan botol bisa ditingkatkan lagi sih. Karena pemilihan font-nya bikin mata agak memicing karena kurang jelas and it feels a bit old. Tertolong banget sama desain botol, apalagi tutupnya mirip kristal gitu.

Untuk informasi lebih jelas dalam bahasa Indonesia, pastikan kamu tetap menyimpan kemasan boks dengan baik ya. Hal ini karena tidak ada informasi produk dalam bahasa Indonesia pada kemasan botolnya.

Harganya untuk ukuran 30ml adalah IDR 569.800, certainly not affordable for everyone, tapi so far the product does it right, jadi yaa aku pun pakai terus essence ini pagi dan malam!

Tekstur

Teksturnya sih juara. Gak terlalu thick dan lengket tapi gak seencer toner atau lotion. It’s just perfect. Yang paling penting, buat kamu yang males atau enggan pakai skincare karena takut kulit minyakan atau breakout, say goodbye to your excuse cause this product has ultra-lightweight texture and easy to blend.

Wanginya enak, segar, dan yang paling penting gak bikin hidung sensitif aku kumat. Yes, I have sensitive nose, jadi biasanya kalau fragrance-nya berlebihan langsung auto cekit-cekit tu hidung. 😂

Langkah penggunaan essence ini adalah setelah penggunaan toner dan sebelum serum/ moisturizer.
Tekstur dari produk ini ada diantara lotion dan gel. Momohime Peach White Essence ini ringan, mudah dibaurkan dan tidak terlalu lengket, cocok untuk layering skincare. Wanginya juga enak dan segar, mirip dengan wangi permen peach yang manis gitu, tapi nggak berlebihan dan nggak bikin enek. Gunakan Momohime Peach White Essence sesudah pengaplikasian toner dan sebelum menggunakan serum atau moisturizer.

Aku sendiri mengikuti arahan tersebut dan so far kulit kombinasi ini looks great! Bekas-bekas jerawat mulai menipis dan kulit pun terasa lebih kenyal. Cukup 2 pump untuk seluruh wajah dan bisa sampai ke leher juga ya, gengs!

Hasil Pemakaian

Nah intinya, setelah 10 hari pemakaian, aku merasakan kulit jauh lebih kenyal dan tekstur kulit juga membaik, dari yang banyak bekas jerawat, kini sudah berangsur membaik. Selain itu aroma produknya juga relaxing banget: peach!

Selain bersertifikasi halal dari Japan Islamic Trust dan BPOM, semua produk Momohime itu bebas dari kandungan babi, tanpa kandungan mineral, alkohol, surfaktan, dan bahan pewarna buatan.

Volufiline Results and Review

At 41 years old, no filler, no Botox, I’m seeing some natural signs of aging. As an avid TikTok user, I had started to see the product Volufiline popping up. Like many, I was intrigued by user Devon Kelley’s results in the under eye area.

As someone who was once a faithful user of lash growth serums, I’d definitely begun to notice under eye hollowness and darkness. It makes the job of my under eye concealer that much harder, and sometimes, impossible all together. So, that’s annoying.

I started researching Volufiline further, until I found myself adding to cart and anxiously awaiting it’s arrival.

What is Volufiline?

Volufiline is actually a raw ingredient, made by French company Sederma. You’ve likely not heard of Sederma but have may have used products with their other popular ingredients, Matrixyl 3000 and Maxi Lip. Despite originating in France, Volufiline appears frequently in Korean skincare products.

How does Volufiline work?

To understand how Volufiline works, you first need to understand the fat pads that live below the surface of our skin. These fat pads are nice and plump at first, then, as we age, shrink. Once you know that, it makes perfect sense why we see drooping and volume loss.

See how the fat pads shrink over time?

Volufiline works by increasing the lipid storage in those fat pads, thus, plumping them up. This can increase volume in hollow areas.

How to use Volufiline

Being that Volufiline is a raw ingredient, not a finished product, you need to mix it into a carrier product prior to applying. For the under eye area, add 1 drop to an eye cream or face oil.

If using on the lips, add 1 drop to a lip balm or lip safe face oil.

The bottle comes with a little plastic jar and spatula for mixing, but I prefer to mix it fresh each use. I put my eye cream or oil on the back of my hand, add 1 drop and mix prior to applying each time.

I faithfully applied Volufiline to my under eye hollows, temples and occasionally lips for 8 weeks before evaluating. You need to give it at least 8 weeks to see any change and some say it can take up to 6 months.

Volufiline Results

I didn’t see any visible in change in my lips so there’s nothing to report there. However, I was pretty surprised at the progress I saw in my under eye area. See for yourself.

Final Volufiline Review

For me, even in 8 weeks, this worked. I saw enough difference to deem it a success. At it’s extremely modest price point, it feels a little too good to be true.

I experienced no irritation or sensitivity whatsoever, making it such a seamless integration into my existing skincare routine.

I plan to continue to using it intermittently to prevent further volume loss as I age. I am considering mixing up a little batch of lip balm with Volufiline to give that another go.

If like me, you’re noticing some volume less and hollowness, and would rather avoid the filler route, I definitely recommend giving Volufiline a go.

Studio London Dew Dream Glow Filter Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Studio London is one of those relatively low key brands, but the more I see, the more I like it. Much as I love a bit of luxury make up, I’m also very happy when I find affordable products doing exactly the same thing as products five times the price. Studio London Dew Dream Glow Filter is one of those products. If you don’t like dewy or glowy skin, look away now because this product will give you both, and very nicely too.

I’m wearing it full beam – no mixing with foundation or moisturiser, both of which you can easily do with this product – and it’s a mid-light kind of a day. I think maybe in full sunshine it might be a little much neat but for this kind of a day it’s bringing the kind of light that I feel I need on my skin.

In terms of texture, Dew Dream is fluid which makes it a dream to blend. If I had a blind-fold on, texture wise I would have guessed Dior and I’m not joking. It has that cool and soft hit as soon as it touches your complexion and blending with a brush could not be easier. There are 8 shades – Shade 3 is a perfect match for me – and I hope at some point there will be more. If you’d prefer just a hint of a glow, add it to your day cream or whatever foundation you’re wearing or do the traditional sweep over the high points of the face – it’s a more subtle effect but you’ll still get the low key lightfulness you’re looking for.

I hate to gush but at £4, the Studio London Flaunt Flawless (could do with a name change – I can hardly summon the effort to go to Tesco, never mind flaunt anything) Liquid Blush is just a dream and even more of a dream at £4 a tube. I’m wearing It’s Hot, a pinky peachy skin livener that you can adjust to fit your blush comfort level. Start with a tiny dot on a brush or directly onto the skin and blend – if you need more, add more. If you need less, blend and blend some more. It’s the bargain of the summer. My favorite LED Mask just got better: CurrentBody Series 2 review

There are two things I look for in skincare devices now: one, results (duh), and two, super easy to use. That’s why the CurrentBody LED Mask has been a staple in my routine for the past 2 years… until now.

CurrentBody released an updated version of their mask, aka Series 2, and boy are there a lot of great updates. I’ll go into all the details, share my results, and compare this to the Series 1 to help you decide which device is best for your needs.

Size & Fit
Extended flexible silicone that now wraps the face better, with a full nose flap and additional chin strap for maximum coverage. The 3-way adjustable strap allows for an even better fit while still being comfortable.

Treatment Time
10 minutes for at least 3-5 times a week. Just clip the controller on to your pants/skirt/shirt and you’re free to move around and multitask!

Once it’s fully charged I get around 10-15 uses. When the light on the controller starts blinking that’s when you need to recharge it.

A quick refresher on red light benefits

I went into details in my original LED Mask review, but red light has been shown to:

  • Increased collagen and elastin production
  • Improve wound healing.
  • Help with repairing sun damage.
  • Reduced inflammation and redness.

Specifically you’ll want to look for wavelengths of 633nm and 830nm, an irradiance of 40-150 mW/cm2 to prevent overheating the skin, and a fluence of 1.2 J/cm2 to 126 J/cm2.

Deep near-infrared light benefits

A major highlight of the Series 2 LED Mask is its addition of deep near-infrared lights (1072nm NIR), which I’ve only seen in one other mask that’s marketed for men. The idea is that since the 1072nm wavelength can reach more cells throughout the epidermis and dermis compared to other wavelengths4, so it should be better at penetrating men’s thicker skin.

Yes it’s as dumb as it sounds, because skin is skin, and deep near-infrared light can benefit anyone:

  • improved appearances of fine lines around the eyes and eye bags!1
  • improved skin texture (self-reported) 2
  • reduced wound healing time 2

Another study used both red light and near-infrared lights (the same 3 wavelengths in this mask actually) and saw improvements in wrinkles, UV spots, brown spots, and pores.3

The proof isn’t as robust as red light, and a lot of the studies done were for treating herpes, but what we do see is promising. Eye bags have been a pain point for me, so it’s so encouraging to know that CurrentBody has strategically placed their 1072nm bulbs right around the eyes to treat these first signs of aging.

Veritace: Testing at every step

In addition to studies verifying the efficacy of LED on the skin, CurrentBody takes it a step further and tests to make sure the LED bulbs themselves deliver the effective wavelengths!

Each mask comes with its own NFC card that you can scan with your phone and see the exact tests your mask hardware went through. This is reassuring, because as we’ve learned with the whole Korean sunscreen scandal, what you see on the labels isn’t always what you get in your product.

How I Use The CurrentBody LED Face Mask

I typically use it as part of my morning routine, and it’s super simple. Just make sure your face is clean, put on your mask and turn it on, wait 10 minutes, then continue with your skincare routine.

Seriously, it’s that easy.

I’ll sometimes use a watery essence before the mask, but I’d definitely save your milky toners and more viscous serums for after. The only exception would be if you used CurrentBody’s Green Tea Serum that’s designed to be worn with the mask, but I didn’t find it to significantly improve the mask’s efficacy, so it’s totally optional.

My Usage Experience Compared to Series 1

I said the first mask was easy to use, but CurrentBody managed to make things even better by adding a much needed clip to the controller. Now I can prep food, do chores, walk on the treadmill, all without worrying about where to put the controller.

The multiway strap is another update meant to improve fit, but I personally liked the single strap better. With the new thicker multiway strap it becomes even harder to wear my hair in a ponytail with the mask. Not a dealbreaker, just something I had to get used to.

As for the fit itself? Such a fantastic upgrade. I love that it hugs my face completely, and with the increased number of bulbs, every inch of skin is getting the red light benefits. No more awkward gaps on the side of the face or around my jawline.

With the higher number of bulbs I do notice that the light feels harsher on the eyes. It also feels more strained when scrolling or looking at a screen. But CurrentBody thoughtfully included two eye inserts to help alleviate that. They make a huge difference, but I do wonder if they block some of the red light from reaching the skin around my eyes.

Overall the usage experience has been a huge improvement, and that’s so important for skincare devices. A pleasant usage experience is key to using a device consistently, which is key to seeing results. Speaking of which…

Effects On The Skin: Before & After

Similar to the Series 1 mask, my results are very subtle, maybe even more so since I was using the Series 1 mask regularly prior to testing Series 2.

One main thing I noticed is that the areas under my eyes, specifically my tear troughs, have become less dark and noticeable. This was an improvement I never saw with the Series 1 mask, which makes me believe that the new addition of deep near-infrared lights around the lights really do work.

I think there’s been some improvement in my skin tone as well, but I also use a vitamin c serum regularly so it’s hard to say if that’s from the serum or from the mask.

I’ll try to update this in 3 months if there are more significant changes, but I’m hopeful!

Obviously a lot of great changes, but if you already have the Series 1 or any other LED mask with similar specs, I don’t think spending another $400+ is necessary. The money could be better spent on other devices with different tech – microcurrent, radiofrequency, or even electroporation!

But if this will be your first LED mask, I 100% recommend the Series 2 mask. The improvements are absolutely worth the $89 difference!

Final Verdict

Pros

  • Contoured fit provides excellent coverage to ensure the light hits all parts of the face.
  • Super easy to wear while multitasking and moving around
  • One of the few masks with 1072nm wavelength to address signs of aging around the eyes
  • Each mask has been tested to ensure the precision of the LED bulbs.

Cons

  • The new multiway strap makes it even harder to wear with a ponytail
  • An expensive splurge if you already own an LED mask

It’s clear that CurrentBody put a lot of thought into developing this new version and taking customer feedback into consideration. I know all the pain points (which were few) I had with the old mask have been fix in Series 2, plus a ton of great additions that aren’t available in most other masks! For me the most exciting change is definitely the near infrared light around the eyes, especially since I’m starting to see slight improvements already. While I don’t think an upgrade is worth it if you already have a Series 1, I 100% recommend this Series 2 mask if you’re still on the search for an LED mask!
