I’ll save you the blurb, you can read that for yourselves at the Current Body Site, what I will be telling you is my experience of infra-red treatment at home and why the heck I didn’t invest in a mask when I was first diagnosed with rosacea several years ago.
Let’s be honest, you fall into two categories when it comes to beauty gadgets, either yes and use it all the time or yes and use it enthusiastically at first and then it joins the other gadgets in a drawer that you forget the existence of until you’re looking for something that your husband is certain you have moved in one of your hormonal cleaning phases. I fall into the latter category!
Now this light therapy mask may just be the gadget to break that habit, because it’s hard to shove into a drawer and it’s the most expensive gadget I own, well, for my skin anyway.
And there, is the reason plain and simple why I didn’t invest in a light therapy mask when I was first blighted by rosacea, the cost made my Northern blood run cold. What is silly, very silly is the amount of money I spent on ridiculous products and potions to rid myself of the damn rosacea when added together would have covered the cost of the mask! A lesson there if ever there was one. BUY THE MASK!
Firstly, it’s early early days with this mask.
I use it 3/4 times a week at the moment, the 10-minute treatment I take as a ‘you must lie down and do nothing’ prescription. Of course, you could wander around and scare the dog, do chores etc, but, why would you when you can lie down for 10 minutes.
The mask fits comfortably over the face and ears and has a band to fasten at the back of the head, which you can tighten. The control unit is charged by USB, I do this weekly.
Fit the mask, press the button and the mask lights up red. By this point I am already prostrate on the bed, eager for my lie down.
The mask automatically switches off and that’s that. My only issue is more my features that are the problem here rather than the mask. My nose is always slightly indented from the mask, loose or tight, I have marks along either side of it, they don’t last long though. Aside from this, I have no issues whatsoever after using the mask, no irritation, redness or any reaction for that matter.
The above photo of my face is a prime example of being vain and looking at myself, but, also noticing an improvement to my skin. The red cheeks and veins have lessened, it’s a tiny change, but a change that I have noticed and the mask is the only addition to my routine.
