The Benefits of Rosehip oil – Featuring Rio Rosa Mosqueta discovery set (sponsored)

Rosehip oil is one of my favourite plant oils for use on my skin. Packed with omega fatty acids and antioxidants, it helps repair, protect and replenish the skin. It’s an ingredient that has been used centuries across different civilisations, including by the Egyptians.

Rosehip is also a brilliant choice for sensitive and redness prone skin, unlike essential oils which are the fragrant oils derived from plants, rosehip oil is extracted from the seeds of wild rose bushes and is gentle and nourishing.

Rosehip oil is one of the go to natural ingredients for fading marks and scars, with several clinical studies showing its effectiveness. It is a fantastic ingredient to include in your routine long term and a great alternative to harsher treatments that will inevitably have unwanted side effects.

When you are shopping for rosehip oil you should look for brands that use cold pressed oils rather than methods using heat, as that can degrade the nutrients in the oil making it less effective.
Rio Rosa Mosqueta Rosehip Discovery set – £12.95

If you are new to rosehip oil or you are looking to try a new brand, Rio Rosa Mosqueta offers a lovely discovery set, featuring three of their bestsellers in handy travel sizes. They use rosehips from wild rose bushes that grow high in the Chilean Andes and the oil is of course cold pressed.

Products included in the set:

Cream cleanser – I am a huge fan of creamy cleansers for a gentle but thorough option for the skin. The Rio Rosa Mosqueta creamy cleanser is one I have spoken about before and offers brilliant value for money. It is a perfect choice for easily irritated skin as it has no added essential oils. As well as rosehip, this cleanser is loaded with other beneficial plant oils and butters, such as shea butter, babassu oil and avocado oil. It’s very easy to use, simply massage on the dry skin and rinse, or use with a warm cloth. This cleanser will remove make up and leave skin feeling fresh and nourished.

Rosehip oil – Containing just 100% rosehip, this very cute little bottle is a really versatile product. It has a golden colour and sinks quickly in to the skin. I like to use this one of two ways, massage in to slightly damp skin and follow with your usual day or night cream, or add a few drops to your moisturiser to make it more nourishing and add extra benefits.

Anti-ageing Day and Night cream – With glycerine to hydrate, as well as white tea and shea butter this moisturiser is a lovely choice to soften and protect the skin. It keeps my skin hydrated all day under make up and is fantastic for soothing dry patches of skin. When using this at night I simply add more product to the skin, to really replenish it after a long day.

All the products in this kit are suitable for vegans and are 100% natural. Rio Rosa Mosqueta products all work together to create a gentle but effective routine and this is a gorgeous set to gift to someone who loves skincare. Do you use rosehip oil in your routine?

NUDESTIX x Glamzilla 3-Piece Set

by Lina Clémence June 26, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Well, well, well……after some time off from the blog, I’m thrilled to be back to doing what I love – playing with makeup and writing about it.

I can think of no better product to review in my return to blogging than a Canadian collaboration from beauty bestie – Miz Glamzilla. This is the NUDESTIX No Edit, No Filter, Just Glam 3-Piece Glamzilla Set.

I’ve tried a few NUDESTIX eye products before, but never the face products. In the past I’ve stayed away from cream products because they didn’t play well with my makeup, but over the past few years I have been foregoing foundation for the most part, making the way for cream products to sit quite pretty on my face.

This 3-piece set from NUDESTIX features two existing products and one new product. The existing products are the Blot & Blur Matte Stick and the Nudies Matte Lux All Over Face Blush Color in “Nude Buff.” New to the NUDESTIX family is the Nudies Matte Lux All Over Bronze Color in the shade “Manila,” which was created by Glamzilla.

This kit contains 3 twist-up tubes of face products. The blush and bronzers contain 7g of product and include a blending brush at the other end, while the matte stick contains 10g of product (no need for a brush because it is very “place and go”).

For the photo below I applied the blotting stick in my T-Zone to cancel out shine, the bronzer in the classic “3” shape to the perimeter of my face as well as on my eyes as a shadow and the blush on my cheeks and my lips. Since the blush and bronzer are “all over” products, you can pretty much create a full face look just using the trio.

Let’s start with the bronzer. I’m not someone uses bronzers that have red tones purely because my skintone is very cool, so I don’t gravitate towards warm bronzers like “Manila.” That being said, I imagine this bronzer would complement the warm-toned girlies. Regardless of the shade, the product itself was extremely smooth – it was so smooth that instead of using the attached brush, I used a damp sponge to lightly blend it onto my face. Although “Manila“ didn’t work with my complexion as bronzer, it worked BEAUTIFULLY as an easy eyeshadow. Whenever I want to pull my look together with a simple eye, I reach for a bronzer (as long as it’s eye-safe). And boy, did “Manila“ ever come through. I swished a large blending brush onto the product and applied it to my eyelids using circular blending motions. With just two dips into the product, I had a natural, blended and most-importantly an easy eyeshadow look that took about 10 seconds to achieve.

In the photo below I applied the blotting stick in my T-Zone to cancel out shine, the bronzer in the classic

The blush in the shade “Nude Buff” was just that – a warm and natural colour. I applied it to my cheeks and blended it out with a damp sponge. Like the bronzer, it was super easy to blend. I also applied it to my lips to create a semi-monochromatic look in the “before and after” photo.

In the photo below I applied the blotting stick in my T-Zone to cancel out shine, the bronzer in the classic

The bronzer and blush shades are very much in the same colour family, so to show off how the blush looks on its own without the bronzer, I took a shot of me wearing it solo, on my eyes and cheeks, below.

Last up is the Blot and Blur Matte Stick. While I couldn’t capture a photo of the product clearly at work, I can confidently say that this stick works. While I’ve used mattifying stick products to reduce greasiness in the past, using them typically results in the grease just transferring to the stick itself, leaving me with a gunky product to clean up. This matte stick is very different as it covers up the shine without a trace…like I don’t know where the shine went, but it’s not on my face and it’s not on the stick. Pretty cool!

The NUDESTIX No Edit, No Filter, Just Glam 3-Piece Glamzilla Set is available in-store at Sephora and on the NUDESTIX website for $85 CAD/$69 USD. Glamzilla’s second NUDESTIX collaboration, a vibrant blush called “Hot Fire” is in stores now (if you can find it – I’m still trying to get my hands on it, but it’s sold out at every store I visit!).

Depology Matrixyl 3000 Travel Set Review — Laura Loukola

by Lina Clémence June 11, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Depology Matrixyl 3000 Travel Set Review

Matrixyl 3000 Collagen Boosting Serum $40 (€36.7) for 30ml (1.01 fl.Oz)
Matrixyl 3000 Travel Set $50 $40 (€36.7) for 30ml (1.01 fl.Oz) AND 9ml /0.30 fl.Oz)

For reference: I am 34 years old with normal-dry/dehydrated skin. My main concerns are dullness, tightness, and the occasional dry patch on my cheeks. My congestion is manageable, and I rarely break out anymore. Dehydration makes my fine lines and signs of aging more prominent, so I’m a huge fan of hydrating serums and essences. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become pickier about the products I use: solely hyaluronic acid-based products can make my skin feel even tighter if I’m not quickly sealing them in with a layer of cream or facial oil.

Last fall I struggled with sinusitis, frequent flu, and fatigue (hence, I had to take some time off from work and blogging). I was often too tired to do my many-step skincare routine, but Matrixyl 3000 Serum was easy and quick to apply, comforting my skin instantly. I enjoy that Depology Matrixyl 3000 has several humectants (aloe leaf juice, glycerin, hyaluronic acid) and emollients (rosehip seed and sunflower seed oil) for long-lasting soothing and hydration. Not to forget the collagen-boosting star ingredient, which is in a high concentration. I’m finally healthy, and I’ve been using my 2nd bottle for a few weeks with my usual skincare routine. I still enjoy it! According to my experience, this serum is beneficial whether you prefer a complex skincare routine or a simplified one. I cannot measure my collagen levels, but my skin looks and feels smoother and brighter, and my fine lines are less pronounced.

My usual routine is cleansing, toning, and massaging a few drops of the serum on my face, neck, and décolléte. Especially if you pick up Matrixyl Collagen Boosting Serum Travel Set it will last you weeks, the price is very reasonable, and the mini bottle is easy to toss into your travel bag. I follow the serum with an eye cream, moisturizer, and SPF during the day. It works beautifully under makeup. My evening routine is similar, but I pair the Matrixyl 3000 serum with a retinol cream (or just a facial oil if I’m lazy). I also tested the serum paired with Depology Micro-Dart patches (review here) overnight to give my eye area extra pampering. Just make sure you let the serum absorb before applying the patches!

I would suggest this serum for most people and any skin type. It’s also vegan, cruelty-free, and free of artificial fragrance. I know people prone to acne may need to pay attention to coconut oil, but the amount seems minimal. I didn’t get any congestion (I struggled with acne in my mid-20s). For the best results, check out Depology’s simple ingredient pairing guide. I found it very helpful!
