Shea Summer Salon and SheaFest –

by Lina Clémence July 17, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

SheaMoisture, a brand deeply rooted in serving, uplifting and celebrating the Black community, is thrilled to announce two vibrant and empowering activations taking over Toronto’s iconic Stackt Market this summer. Building on its mission to champion Black beauty, SheaMoisture will host the Shea Summer Salon from July 17-20, followed by the highly anticipated SheaFest from August 1-4.

Shea Summer Salon invites guests to step into a reimagined community salon experience, offering free personalized hair consultations. This unique activation is designed to empower individuals to unlock limitless possibilities as regards styling their hair, equipping them with hair care knowledge and their favourite SheaMoisture products. This event will celebrate and honour the legacy of community salons in the 90s that have long been cornerstones of self-expression and connection throughout the GTA. Following this, the grand SheaFest will return as a dynamic, multi-day bright and bold carnival-inspired celebration. This will be a high-impact cultural activation during North America’s largest multicultural event, Toronto Caribbean Carnival, honoring the true essence of Carnival by showcasing flair in its most expressive forms. SheaFest allows guests to celebrate and engage directly with cultural expressions, from music to styling, all while supporting powerful self-expression and fostering a supportive network for the Black community.

“SheaMoisture’s commitment to show up for and uplift the Black community with intention and purpose is the heartbeat of everything we do,” says Maureen Kitheka, Marketing Lead for SheaMoisture Canada. “We believe that hair is as versatile as those who wear it. Our new ‘YES, AND’ campaign, embodies that belief – hair, like any other facet of our identity, deserves to be seen, celebrated and supported in all its forms. This summer, we have created intentional spaces centred on providing tools to support all hair care journeys, empowering our community to say “YES” to their authentic selves, AND experience unbridled joy as they make valuable connections. We are incredibly excited to bring these immersive experiences to the heart of the city strengthening our community bonds and uplifting the incredible spirit of Black beauty here in Canada.”

In celebration of the brand’s latest North American campaign YES, AND, both events acknowledge SheaMoisture’s importance in culture and how Black Women truly embrace versatility in all aspects of their character – they are ever-evolving, ever-exploring and make navigating the world look effortless. Both events create tangible empowering spaces inviting guests to embrace every chapter, every pivot, every evolution of their story and exemplifies the latest brand campaign’s ethos – YES, she experiences barriers that may limit her from living her fullest life AND, she has big, bold visions and aspirations to remind herself and the world of exactly who she is. Guests will physically interact with products and experts, fostering a direct, hands-on experience that celebrates their unique hair journey while reinforcing the collective strength found in shared cultural spaces.

Beauty enthusiasts are encouraged to visit @sheamoistureca on Instagram for more information on scheduling hair appointments, activities, and how to participate in these transformative summer activations.

Giovanni 2chic Frizz Be Gone Shea Butter Shampoo & Conditioner Review

by Lina Clémence June 27, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

When you see a product that claims to have 20 benefits to improve your hair, sure you’re skeptical, but also interested in finding out if they are true!  Giovanni 2chic Frizz Be Gone Shampoo & Conditioner was introduced to me in a beauty – blogger – box last year.  I figured I didn’t have anything to loose and per the claims, lots to gain, so I gave it a whirl!

I use to be a one brand kinda girl when it came to my hair products.  I was afraid to branch out and test drive anything else as I thought I had found what worked for my hair.  Well, as I have gotten older I have almost been reintroduced to my hair and now I love testing out new hair care items!

When I opened the beauty blogger box from @MSquaredbrands late last year, I took one look at these and put them aside.  I was close to finishing up what was in my shower at the time and these bad boys were next on the list to try!

First off, who else has to smell a product? It is one of the first things I do, even sometimes before reading the packaging LOL.  Well these smell pretty amazing. With Shea butter and almond oil, the scent is light but it lets you know it is there.

I than saw the 20 claims to improve and benefit my hair and I was like “say what? But really?”

The few that caught my eye was that it reduces frizz & tames unmanageable hair & flyaways.  I have super straight hair, but frizz and flyaways are my enemy!  With Winter on the horizon where I live, moisture (snow & rain) and low humidity was about to take over also.  Anything to help my hair was on my must try list.

The product is light weight also and lathers up nicely. A little goes a long way for both the shampoo and conditioner. While I do not wash my hair everyday, these have lasted me 3 months! The cost of these are very reasonable also, so that is a win-win all around.

Giovanni has a wide range of products to suit any ones hair care needs and can be found at many locations across  North America as well as online. (check out well.ca and don’t forget to use my code: tals10for40)

Introducing the Dabur Herbolene Natural Oil Jelly with Shea Butter – The Tezzy Files

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Petroleum Jelly has been a beauty must-have for generations. This multi-purpose balm that keeps chapped lips at bay, smoothens out cracked heels, and restores smooth, supple skin to elbows and shins has received a great deal of slack over the years, and for good reason too. Despite its versatility, the petroleum component of Petroleum Jelly makes it harmful for the skin.

Iconic Indian wellness brand Dabur has released a star product under the Herbolene range. Introducing the Dabur Herbolene Natural Oil Jelly with Shea Butter. This innovative product has the thick, ultra-moisturizing properties and versatility of traditional Petroleum Jelly minus the harmful petroleum. It is also a remarkably non-greasy formula, and is made of 100% natural, skin-loving ingredients including castor seed oil, beeswax, coconut oil and shea butter.

This lovely product has a sweet, aromatic scent and as it is made of natural ingredients, the skin laps it up with no greasy mess at all.

Enjoy supple, baby-soft skin with the Dabur Herbolene Natural Oil Jelly (also available in an Aloe Vera variation). This product is easily available across all major supermarkets in the UAE, and costs AED 16 a tub. Bargain deal!
