Cara Memperbaiki Skin Barrier Yang Rusak Dengan Skintific 5X Ceramide Barrier Repair Moisture Gel Review | ELIN IVANA

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Ceramide AS untuk mencegah masuknya bakteri.

A Relaxing Skin Care Routine For Mind & Body

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

A relaxing skin care routine for mind and body goes beyond the surface. Think of it as your reset button. With the right mix of ingredients, textures and intention, your routine becomes more than skin deep. From gemstone-infused cleansers to mood-lifting treatments, we’re breaking down how to build a ritual that supports your skin and your state of mind.

If you’re ready to transform your regimen into a sensory ritual, here’s a step-by-step experience that integrates skin care, gemstone energies and spa-like serenity at home.

Start With A Skin Care Ritual That Grounds You

A truly relaxing skin care routine for mind and body starts with choosing skin care products that do more than treat the surface. These formulas combine skin benefits with sensorial ingredients like gemstones, botanicals and warming spices to help you unwind while you treat your skin.

1. Charcoal Exfoliating Gel Cleanser

Start with a deep, refreshing cleanse. This gel-to-lather formula is powered by charcoal, blue matcha and malachite gemstones, ingredients known for their purifying and balancing properties. The Charcoal Exfoliating Gel Cleanser gently exfoliates as it lifts away impurities, leaving your skin feeling smooth, clear and visibly revived.

2. Recharge With The Turmeric Energizing Treatment

This is where ritual meets results. The Turmeric Energizing Treatment starts as a powder, then transforms into a fluffy mousse when mixed with water. It contains turmeric, citrine gemstones and zeolite to awaken tired skin and boost circulation. You’ll feel a gentle heat as it activates, and that warm, tingling sensation is part of the experience.

To apply this treatment:

  • Use about 1 teaspoon of powder
  • Mix with a few drops of water (4:3 ratio)
  • Apply a thin layer to the face, neck and décolleté
  • Leave on for 10–30 minutes, then rinse with tepid water, massaging gently for added exfoliation
  • For a gentler effect, just add a bit more water to the mix

3. Glow With The Camellia Glow Solid Face Oil

Finish with a nourishing layer of moisture. This balm-to-oil formula is rich in camellia oil, marula oil and pink tourmaline gemstones, which are often linked with serenity, compassion and self-love. It melts beautifully into the skin, leaving behind a soft, hydrated glow and a feeling of calm.

The Role Of Gemstones In Your Routine

3 Gemstones For Wellness

Gemstones have been part of beauty and wellness rituals for centuries, valued for their color, texture and symbolic meaning. In skin care, they enhance the sensory experience and bring intention to your routine. Each stone carries associations that can help guide how you want to feel as you care for your skin.

  • Malachite, with its rich green tones, is often linked to renewal and grounding.
  • Citrine symbolizes motivation and mental clarity, bringing warmth and energy to your ritual.
  • Pink tourmaline is associated with self-love, compassion and emotional balance.

Including these gemstones in your routine adds a subtle layer of connection — one that invites you to consider not just what your skin needs, but what your state of mind is asking for. And while these small choices can shift your mindset during a facial routine, the same intentionality can extend to the rest of your self-care, starting with your bath or shower.

Extend Your Ritual: Relaxing Bath & Shower Enhancements

Your skin care routine doesn’t have to stop at your face. The rest of your body and your mood benefits from ritual, too. Whether you’re stepping into a warm bath or winding down in the shower, adding a few sensorial elements can help you reset physically and mentally.

To enhance your routine:

  • Light a candle scented with calming essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus
  • Play ambient music to soften external distractions and bring focus inward
  • Add herbs or petals to your bathwater for a gentle, natural aromatherapy effect
  • Exfoliate with a loofah or dry brush to increase circulation and promote smooth skin
  • Moisturize your body after bathing to restore hydration and seal in the moment of calm

This kind of full-body ritual reflects the growing interest in psychodermatology, a field that explores how the skin and mind are biologically and emotionally connected. Studies found that psychological stress activates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, increasing cortisol levels and impairing skin barrier function. This stress may lead to inflammation, delayed healing and flare-ups in conditions such as acne and eczema.

Integrative approaches that include relaxation, mindfulness and daily self-care rituals have been shown to reduce perceived stress and support your skin’s health. Psychodermatology reinforces something many of us already sense. How you feel emotionally can show up on your skin. Creating a relaxing skin, shower or bath ritual is one small, consistent way to support both.

Final Thoughts: A Relaxing Mind & Body Skin Care Routine

Whether you’re starting your morning with a glow boost or winding down with gemstone-infused hydration, creating a relaxing skin care routine for mind and body is one of the most powerful ways to restore yourself inside and out.

From Acne to Aches: How People Actually Take Care of Their Skin and Body

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Most people think taking care of your skin just means washing your face and maybe using some lotion. And when it comes to body aches, they imagine stretching or popping a few pain pills. But there’s actually a lot more going on behind the scenes—especially for adults. These days, people aren’t just going to regular doctors or using random drugstore creams. They’re going to places that mix medicine with relaxation. Sounds weird? It’s actually pretty cool.

Skincare Isn’t Just About Looks

It’s easy to think that skincare is all about wanting to look better. But for a lot of people, it’s about feeling better, too. Acne isn’t just annoying—it can really mess with someone’s confidence. Redness, scarring, or skin that hurts to touch? Not fun.

That’s why more and more people are going to professionals for help. A Medical Spa is one place where that happens. These places aren’t regular spas with cucumber slices and relaxing music. They’ve got doctors or nurses working there who use real medical tools. People go there for skin problems like acne, dark spots, and even wrinkles. It’s not about being vain—it’s about getting the right help from someone who knows what they’re doing.

Treatments at these places can use things like lasers or strong exfoliants that you can’t just buy at the store. And even though it might sound fancy, it’s usually all about solving a problem that regular skincare can’t fix.

Getting Rid of Pain Without a Prescription

It’s not just about faces, either. A lot of people deal with body pain—back pain, sore muscles, tight shoulders—the kind of pain that doesn’t go away with stretching. Sure, you could go to a regular doctor, but sometimes all they do is hand over some pills. That doesn’t work for everyone.

Some medical spas and wellness centers offer treatments like massage therapy with medical benefits, not just for relaxing. There’s also red light therapy, which sounds straight out of a sci-fi movie but actually helps with inflammation and muscle recovery. Some people even get treatments that use cold temps or electric pulses to ease chronic pain. It sounds intense, but a lot of adults swear by it.

And these treatments aren’t only for people who are older. Athletes, dancers, and even teens who play sports can end up with pain that needs more than an ice pack. The key is finding the right kind of care that treats the actual problem—not just the symptoms.

Not All Spas Are the Same

It’s important to understand that not every spa can do these things. Regular spas are great for relaxing, sure. You can get a nice massage, maybe a facial, and walk out feeling calm. But they aren’t equipped to treat medical conditions or deeper skin problems.

Medical spas are a mix of a clinic and a spa. That means they follow medical rules and safety standards but still offer a relaxing experience. They usually have real medical pros doing the treatments, so there’s less chance of something going wrong. That’s why people trust them with more serious stuff—things like laser hair removal, Botox, chemical peels, or acne treatments that actually change your skin on a deeper level.

So no, it’s not just a fancy facial. It’s science, comfort, and real results rolled into one.

The Tech Behind the Beauty

One of the coolest parts about all this is the technology. We’re not talking about apps or filters—this is real-life tech that does real things. There are machines that zap away hair, shrink fat cells, or smooth out scars. Some of them use heat, others use cold, and some even use sound waves or light.

For skin issues, lasers are super popular. They target dark spots, acne scars, and even early signs of aging. And unlike what some people think, these treatments don’t always hurt or leave your skin red for days. A lot of them have short recovery times, which is great if someone’s got school or work the next day.

And for muscle or joint pain? Some places use ultrasound therapy or electrical stimulation to help the body heal itself faster. It’s not magic—it’s just science people didn’t have access to before.

Mental Health Gets a Boost, Too

Here’s something most people don’t think about: when your body feels better, your mind usually does too. Dealing with acne or body pain all the time can really mess with someone’s mental health. It can make people feel tired, frustrated, or even embarrassed to go out.

Taking care of your skin or dealing with pain the right way can actually boost someone’s confidence and mood. Some treatments even help with sleep, stress, and anxiety. Things like massage, aromatherapy, and even certain skincare routines can calm the nervous system. It’s not just a nice bonus—it actually matters.

Why People Are Willing to Spend More

You might be wondering why anyone would pay extra for this kind of care when there are drugstore products and gym memberships. The thing is, a lot of people have already tried those things. They’ve used all the creams, gone to physical therapy, and still don’t feel better.

So when they find something that works—something that’s both medical and comfortable—they’re willing to stick with it. And honestly, it makes sense. People want to feel good in their own skin, and they want to move without pain. If a place can help with both? That’s worth something.

What to Know Before Going

Even though these treatments sound cool, they’re not for everyone. It’s always a good idea to do some research or talk to a doctor first. Some treatments aren’t safe for younger people, or they might need a doctor’s approval.

And while most places are safe, it’s still smart to check their reviews, look at their licenses, and make sure they have real professionals on staff. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Feeling Good Is More Than Skin Deep

So here’s the deal: taking care of your skin and body goes way beyond just washing your face or doing a few stretches. There are real medical treatments out there—at medical spas and other wellness spots—that help with everything from acne to aches. They use real science and technology to make people feel better, not just look better.

And even though it might sound grown-up or expensive, these places are becoming more normal for people of all ages. Whether it’s a laser for acne scars or a massage that targets sore muscles, the goal is the same: help people feel good in their skin again.

What Can Plant-Based Oils Really Do for Your Skin?

by Lina Clémence May 31, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Everyone seems to be talking about plant-based oils. Over the last decade or so, they’ve become the darlings of the skincare industry, touted as miracle ingredients for glowing skin.

You may have wondered: What exactly are these oils? And aren’t oils bad for your skin, especially if you have oily skin?

We want to use natural, clean ingredients on our skin—and plant-based oils qualify—but you may be unsure whether oils belong in your skincare routine.

Here’s what we know: When used correctly, plant-based oils can be one of the most nourishing and transformative additions to your skincare routine, no matter your skincare type. Yes—even oily and acne-prone skin can benefit from the right kinds of oil!

At CV Skinlabs, we use scientifically proven and medically accepted plant ingredients with the safest and most therapeutic benefits for sensitive skin. Our bio-compatible and clinically proven formulas help transform a variety of skin conditions and concerns to healthy radiant skin.

In this post, we’ll explain what plant-based oils really are, why they’ve become so popular in skincare, the science-backed benefits they offer, and which oils are particularly suited to sensitive skin.

What Are Plant-Based Oils?

Also called botanical oils or carrier oils, plant-based oils are natural oils extracted from plants’ nuts, seeds, or fruits. Manufacturers process them in various ways, but they often cold-press them to preserve their nutrients. And though it may seem that they’ve appeared relatively recently in the beauty world, they’ve been used for centuries in skincare and wellness practices worldwide.

Traditional skincare products have used mineral oil (derived from petroleum) and lab-made synthetic oils in skincare, thinking they were just as effective as natural options. But today, we know better.

Plant oils are rich in essential fatty acids, triglycerides, vitamins, and other skin-loving ingredients that the body naturally recognizes and uses, much more easily than synthetic options. Many of these oils closely mimic the skin’s natural components, making them more biocompatible and less likely to irritate the skin.

  • Fatty acids: These help moisturize the skin, maintain elasticity, and support barrier repair. Oleic acid is perfect for dry skin, while linoleic acid is lighter and more suitable for oily and acne-prone skin, helping to calm inflammation and regulate the production of skin oils.
  • Tryglycerides: These are naturally found in the skin and act as emollients, creating a protective layer that keeps moisture in and environmental irritants out. They help improve texture and smoothness.
  • Vitamins (A, C, E): Vitamin A (retinoids) helps accelerate skin cell turnover and helps fade dark spots. Vitamin C brightens the complexion and boosts collagen production, while vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects against free radical damage and supports healing.
  • Polyphenols: These are antioxidant-rich compounds that help fight inflammation, reduce oxidative stress, and protect the skin from UV rays and pollution.

Plant-based oils can be used on their own, particularly as a final step in a skincare routine to seal in moisture. But they are often more effective when blended into well-formulated skincare products like serums, moisturizers, and facial cleansers.

Why Have Plant-Based Oils Become Popular in Skincare?

If plant-based oils have existed for so long, why have they become popular only recently?

Over the last decade, the beauty industry has turned toward more natural, holistic, and ingredient-conscious formulations. As consumers have become more educated about the ingredients in their products, they’ve started seeking clean beauty. Brands have responded by focusing more on natural ingredients wherever possible.

So what changed?

Scientific Backing

Over the past several years, more scientific studies have shown the benefits of specific plant oils on skin health, barrier repair, and inflammation reduction.

Clean Beauty Movement

As consumers started to turn away from synthetic and chemical ingredients like mineral oil and parabens, manufacturers had to change to continue producing products consumers would want to buy.

Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Science

Natural oils have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Modern extraction methods make it easier to collect and use them safely and effectively in skincare products.

Versatility

You can use plant-based oils alone or add them to serums, creams, masks, or cleansers. This versatility makes them a flexible option in skincare routines.

What Are the Benefits of Plant-Based Oils?

So what can these natural oils do for your skin? Let’s break it down.

Nourish the Skin Barrier

Your skin barrier is your first line of defense. Oils rich in essential fatty acids help replenish and strengthen this barrier, preventing moisture loss and keeping irritants out.

Deliver Deep Hydration

Unlike water-based moisturizers that evaporate quickly, oils help lock in moisture and keep the skin supple and soft. Some plant-based oils, like jojoba and squalane, even penetrate the deeper layers of skin.

Calm Inflammation

Sensitive skin, in particular, is often inflamed. Many plant-based oils have anti-inflammatory properties that soothe redness, irritation, and flare-ups. Sunflower and rosehip, in particular, help with conditions like eczema and rosacea.

Balance Oil Production

If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you may be concerned about using plant-based oils. Ironically, certain oils (like jojoba and squalane) help regulate skin oil (sebum), helping reduce breakouts. When harsh skincare products strip your skin, it reacts by producing even more sebum. Giving it a nourishing skincare product with plant-based oils can help prevent that reaction.

Protect from Environmental Aggressors

Vitamin E, polyphenols, and carotenoids found in plant oils fight free radicals, helping to slow down visible signs of aging, like wrinkles and dark spots.

Support Wound Healing

Oils like rosehip, castor oil, and tamanu help promote skin regeneration and help heal scars, making them perfect for post-acne marks or sensitive, damaged skin.

Best Plant-Based Oils for Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, you want soothing, non-clogging, and anti-inflammatory oils. Here are some ingredients that will work well in your skincare routine. (FYI: They’re all included in CV Skinlabs products!)

  • Olive oil: Moisturizing and rich in antioxidants, olive oil is ideal for dry, flaky skin. It’s a thicker oil, so it’s best used in formulas rather than alone.
  • Sunflower seed oil: Lightweight, calming, and rich in linoleic acid, sunflower oil supports sensitive skin and won’t clog pores.
  • Jojoba oil: This one balances skin oil without irritation. It’s perfect for easily reactive or combination skin.
  • Rosehip seed oil: Rich in vitamin C, along with other antioxidants like vitamin A, this oil is excellent for brightening skin, improving tone, and supporting collagen production. It’s also gentle on the skin, with properties that help heal scars.
  • Castor oil: This oil has natural antibacterial properties, helps heal wounds, and deeply hydrates. It works great for calming irritation and softening dry patches.
  • Squalane (when plant-derived, it comes from olives or sugarcane): This ultra-light, non-irritating, and safe oil is excellent for all skin types. It mimics the skin’s natural oils, making it a highly effective moisturizer that helps restore suppleness without clogging pores.
  • Calendula oil: Known for calming and healing, this oil benefits red, itchy skin.

If you’re looking for oils for sensitive skin, keep in mind that the formulation matters. Look for safe, fragrance-free versions whenever possible, and always start with a small patch test if you’re new to oils.

How CV Skinlabs Uses Plant-Based Oils to Nourish and Repair Sensitive Skin

5 Factors That Make Your Skin Age Faster

by Lina Clémence May 30, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

When it comes to premature skin aging, these factors help speed up the aging process in your skin. These factors can be prevented with some easy lifestyle change or implementing an easy skincare routine. We all want to have beautiful, firm, and plump skin as long as possible, and that is possible if you follow these steps I will outline in the post below.

We will discuss some factors: smoking, unhealthy diet, lack of sleep, sun damage, and lack of proper skincare routine.

You Age Faster When You Smoke Than When You Don’t.

Smoking makes you age faster as it deprives the skin of oxygen and nutrients. Smoking also makes you prone to uneven skin tone and age spots. When it comes to the skin structure, smoking triggers the destruction of collagen and elastin, the fibers that give your skin its structure, strength, and elasticity. When you start smoking at an early age, your skin’s building blocks are destroyed at a faster rate; this will make you look older than you are – Smoking causes sagging skin and deeper wrinkles, smokers lips (lines around your mouth), puffy eyes, and deep wrinkles on your forehead.

Unhealthy Diet Will Make Your Skin Age Faster

A diet consisting of processed food and refined carbohydrates can, over time, cause the skin to aggravate skin issues. When your diet is deprived of essential nutrients like protein, vitamins, and minerals, they show your skin as paleness, scaly skin, rough skin texture, and overproduction of sebum in the skin. Avoid processed foods, lots of sugar, and unhealthy fats. Focus more on foods rich in vitamin e, vitamin c, zinc, antioxidants, plus many more – see here.

Don’t Skimp On Your Beauty Sleep.

The saying beauty sleep is not just a saying; it is a real thing. People who get enough sleep, at least 6-8 hours of sleep, reap the nightly repair benefits that the skin undergoes. When you skimp on your sleep, it shows on your face as tired-looking skin, puffy eyes, and dark circles around the eyes.

Your skin’s blood flow increases during sleep, and it helps your skin rebuild collagen and repair skin damage. Opt for a silk pillowcase instead of a cotton pillowcase that might aid in causing fine lines and wrinkles on your skin.

The Worst Is Sun Damage

I can not stress enough how important it is to apply SPF sunscreen when you spend a prolonged amount of time in the sun. The worst culprit when it comes to rapid skin aging is the sun. You can be diligent in keeping a healthy diet, a non-smoker, and have a good sleep habit, but if you do all these and neglect to protect your skin from the sun, then all your work is futile. Prolonged sun exposure over time will cause your skin to wrinkles and sag faster. You will have sun and age spots, easily prone to hyperpigmentation, skin cancer, dehydrated skin, and possible skin barrier damage. When buying sunscreen, look for a sunscreen that has both UVA and UVB protection. UVA sun rays are more dangerous than UVB as they go to the skin’s dermis, which causes premature wrinkles and cancer.

Get A Good Skincare Routine

Finally, it would help if you got a good skincare routine to treat your skincare issues and maintain healthy skin. Before you start a skincare regimen, it is imperative to know your skin type, which will help you choose the best skincare products for your skin. If you have oily skin, it will not be beneficial to use products designed to use by people with dry skin. You can self-check your skin type with our at-home skin analysis checker.

If you have a proper skincare routine, it helps treat skincare issues that you might have, such as acne, wrinkles, dark spots, dehydrated skin, dry skin, damaged skin barrier, large pores, oily skin, rough skin texture, among other issues.

If you need a skincare coach to help you analyze your skin and treat your skin issues with the correct skincare ingredients, you can contact us for a free consultation.

Inside Apex Skin: Advancing Dermatologic Care

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Summer is calling… are you ready to answer? Maybe you’re putting the parkas and sweaters to the back of the closet and digging out the shorts and cute summer tops. But… do they still fit? If you’ve been eyeing the summer clothes in your closet with some trepidation, you might also have wondered about the weight loss injections you’ve heard about. Is there really something behind the hype? Is semaglutide safe? What about semaglutide side effects? How does it even work?

Well, the science is here for you: 8 out of 10 patients experienced visible, lasting BMI reductions through medically monitored semaglutide injections. Furthermore, almost all of the patients included in this real-world study lost weight, and while 65 percent of them noted side effects, they were mostly mild and only lasted a short time.

Now, before you try some fly-by-night mail-order weight loss injections (which can be contaminated and dangerous, as you may have seen in the news), keep in mind that semaglutide is still a drug. Therefore, it is advised that you should only get it from medical professionals who know your medical history and can provide safe, genuine prescriptions. Here at Apex Skin, our providers can help you get the best results for your body while helping you manage any potential side effects safely.

She’ll answer some of your most pressing questions about getting summer-ready with weight loss injections:

Semaglutide is an FDA-approved injectable weight-loss drug that has been clinically proven to lower the BMI of overweight or obese individuals.

In other words, these medical weight-loss injections tell your body: “Hey, I’m full already. No need to keep eating.” It also helps regulate your blood sugar, which is helpful for patients who have insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, or type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide has revolutionized how we look at weight loss and the possibilities for medically treating it.

Study after study shows that it is safe, but the caveat is that its highest level of safety and success comes from using it under medical supervision and with medical monitoring and guidance. Apex Skin’s own medical professionals have not only studied the drug in-depth, but several of them have even tested semaglutide on themselves! Scientific understanding combined with both clinical and personal experience has helped us create an in-depth medical protocol for supporting our patients as individuals as they go through their semaglutide weight loss journey. This protocol includes:

Spring is all about new starts, second chances, and empowering your confidence. It’s a good time to make sustainable changes like adding fresh fruits and vegetables to your meals, taking more walks, drinking more water, and feeling more positive. Starting weight loss injections with a trained medical provider now can help you re-energize your efforts to take better care of yourself and give yourself the self-love and confidence you absolutely deserve. Weight loss looks different for everybody, and nobody will do it just like you. The Apex Skin team can help you get the best results for your situation.

Mild semaglutide side effects are fairly common, but also very manageable, as Stebbins explains: “Most commonly, I have found side effects to include GI symptoms like nausea and constipation,” she says. “I also see appetite loss, headaches, and fatigue as well. There is a potential for others like hypoglycemia or increased heart rate, for example, but I don’t see that as much.”

The most common list of semaglutide side effects includes:

Stebbins and our other Apex semaglutide experts coach patients on easy ways to manage and reduce the side effects; however:

Patients need to know that, as with any drug, there can be rare side effects that require immediate medical attention. This is why medical supervision with a trusted healthcare provider is essential if you decide to try weight loss injections. Some rare but potential semaglutide long-term side effects include:

Stebbins says it’s always important to watch for red flags of severe side effects and to report these immediately to your healthcare provider: “During your consultation, we will discuss this topic with you as we review your medical history,” she explains. “It’s imperative that you reach out to your provider if you feel like you are having side effects that weren’t discussed. Red flags can include signs of an allergic reaction, trouble breathing, severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting or bloody stools, changes in urination, or swelling.”

Because there is a small chance of semaglutide long-term side effects that could be severe, this is a weight loss drug you should not try by yourself without medical supervision and regular monitoring. Apex Skin doctors and nurses want you to have a safe, successful, long-term weight loss experience with minimal side effects—and to be there for you if side effects do occur.

Although semaglutide does have a strong safety profile, research has shown that some patients have contraindications to the drug. Health conditions that may disqualify you from treatment include a personal or family history of the following conditions:

You should also not have semaglutide injections if you are under the age of 18.

Numerous reports of fake, unregulated, and even dangerous online, mail-order weight-loss injections have circulated through the news. Your health is simply too important to gamble on such a risky option. Stebbins has even worked with patients who have taken this treacherous route before coming to the medically-guided Apex approach to semaglutide:

It’s important to sit down with a board-certified healthcare provider who has medical expertise, ask questions, and become well-informed. Then you can make wise choices for your health and lifestyle.

“Apex guarantees that you will receive personalized care with a comprehensive approach,” explains Stebbins. “Your medical provider is also your accountability partner who will monitor your progress, side effects, and identify any adjustments to your weight loss plan that are needed. They will ensure you are being dosed appropriately. We can also guarantee that your medications will be from a quality source. Apex only uses a nationally known compounding pharmacy. This also prevents risks associated with illegal and unsafe online purchases.”

It’s important to remember that weight loss should not be a sudden, fast, overnight experience. Rapid weight loss may give you a boost of satisfaction, but it’s usually short-lived and can lead to health risks, too. By following a medically supervised semaglutide plan, you can expect slow, steady, healthy weight reduction:

“Patients, on average, will see a 5-10% weight loss within the first few months,” says Stebbins. “It’s important to remember that slow and steady wins the race. Losing weight too fast can lead to health risks that include muscle loss, nutrient deficiencies, electrolyte imbalances, and potential heart problems. It’s also much harder to maintain that weight loss if you lose it too quickly. It’s just not sustainable.”

At Apex Skin, our commitment to your success doesn’t stop after your first semaglutide injection—or even after you reach your weight loss goal. We offer long-term support to help you maintain results and feel your best at every stage of the journey.

Many patients also explore our aesthetic procedures to complement their weight loss and enhance their results. Whether you’re looking to tone specific areas or restore volume and radiance, Apex offers non-surgical treatments that work beautifully alongside semaglutide:

Our team will help you choose the right combination of treatments based on your unique goals—because feeling confident in your body is about more than just the number on the scale.

Keep in mind: Semaglutide side effects can be minor and short-lived as you experience safe, sustainable, long-term weight loss that contributes to your overall health and wellness when you work with Apex Skin.

“Remember to always be patient and gentle with yourself,” urges Stebbins. “You didn’t gain this weight overnight, and you won’t lose it overnight. Let’s get your nutrition and exercise plan in order, too, so that you can feel more confident in that swimsuit! It’s better to do this the healthy way. Healthy is the new sexy!”

Spring is the perfect time for a fresh start, so schedule an initial consultation with Apex Skin to find out if semaglutide is right for you. Start creating your confident, safe, sexy, smart summer bod today!

[REVIEW] Hello Skin Jumiso Rich Nourishment Mask – Dev Lab Beauty – Dev Laboratory

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Buat kalian yang addicted sama k-beauty, pasti udah ga asing dong sama masker dari Hello Skin ? Aku awalnya kaget sih pas tau kalo masker ini tuh lagi hype banget di Korea. Kebetulan masker ini aku ngga beli, tapi dapet gift dari salah satu e-commerce Korea. (harganya sekitar 20ribu – 35ribu)

Jujur pas mau review produk ini pertama kali aku rada bingung. Masalahnya hampir semua tulisan di sheet mask ini pake huruf Hangeul (kecuali ingredients). Bahkan nama maskernya pun ditulis pake huruf hangeul 주미소 (dibaca : JUMISO) yang artinya “smile”.

These 5 Moisturizing Face Products Have Been Amazing For My Skin

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

I am an avid lover of all things skincare related and I’m always trying new products to see what works best for my combination skin. Lately, I’ve been all about providing the maximum amount of moisture to my skin and throughout this process, I’ve discovered some amazing products that have workes wonders on my skin, and I just had to share!

Here are 5 face products that are working wonders on my skin!

1. Mukama Botanica High Vibe Face Mist

I was gifted this skin mist and it took me a while to get it into my skincare rotation and that is one of my biggest regrets! It has been such a treat for my skin. It gives me softness and my skin feels supple after using it. I thought that I would use it as a facial mist when practicing yoga or wellness activity, but it has become my go-to facial toner in my morning and evening skincare routines.

The tangerine and sandalwood that the spray is made from have amazing benefits for the skin. Sandalwood has anti-inflammatory properties to help de-puff the skin, and it acts as astringent (which is why I usually spray it every morning as step 2 of my skin care routine) and it also helps with clearing blackheads and acne. The tangerine contains anti-oxidants that fight free radicals and is also a source of Vitamin C. Overall, this facial mist has so many benefits!

Although, I haven’t been out and about teaching in-person classes, I recently had a yoga content shoot and brought my high vibration spray with me. It came in so clutch as a refresher for my skin between sets. This product really is a multi- benefit skincare must-have and I 100% recommend it.

2. Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum

This. Vitamin C. Serum. Is. The. Truth! I’m admittedly a woman who wear many hats, so sleep deprivation is sometimes unavoidable, especially when balancing toddler mom life a full-time career and entrepreneurship.

Dermalogica has always been one of my go-to brands for skincare. It’s also
what my esthetician uses, so I’m no stranger to the amazing benefits and
results these products have.

When I got my hands on this Vitamin C eye serum, I had heard tons of buzz
from beauty bloggers galore screaming its glory from the mountaintops, so I knew I had to experience it for myself. It is a very lightweight eye serum with Vitamin C complex that helps brighten and visibly firm the skin around the eye area.

And the verdict is… IT’S LIT! My dark circles are gone and I love the
nourishment and soothing formulation of this serum… it’s a winner.

3. Murad Resurgence Rapid Collagen Infusion

I received this moisturizer in a FabFitFun box and mmmm mmmm mmmm! It is SO GOOD! I have been a fan of adding collagen to my smoothies, coffee and tea for a couple of years because of the great health benefits that it has for joints, hair, skin and nails. It is also a great way to naturally get an energy boost.

So, I was immediately intrigued by this product and after doing some
research, (just to make sure it was a good fit to incorporate it into my regimen) and learning that is all about helping with skin’s elasticity so much so that they promote that it can reduce wrinkles and fine lines in as little as two hours, I was SOLD.

Wrinkles aren’t a huge concern of mine at the moment, but prevention is key and I do have laugh lines and minimal crow’s feet that I’ve noticed are more minimal since using this product

3. HydropPeptide Moisture Reset Phytonutrient Facial Oil

I absolutely love slathering my skin with a luscious facial oil and this one has been the best thing to happen to my skin a long time.

This nourishing, medium weight oil is an anti-oxidant rich blend of a dozen oils and is the perfect consistency, because it’s not super-thick or watery. It has juicy ingredients like avocado and lavender oilthat help improve the skin’s natural lipid barrier.

I use it in the morning and at night before bed by dispensing 3-4 drops onto my fingertips and gently rubbing and patting it into my skin. It leaves my face feeling moisturized and soft.

5. Amethyst Face Roller

I recently shared how using my facial roller on my skin has been great for
my mental health because I use it as a mindfulness ritual.
I treat my skincare routine as a self-care ritual, and this beautiful Amethyst
facial roller is my go-to!

Amethyst is known as the “all-healer” and is known to counteract
negative energies and I’m pretty sure that’s why it feels so amazing to run it
over my skin. Plus facial rolling is great for draining your lymph nodes and stimulating blood circulation, so using a beautiful tool made from one of my favorite crystals is the icing on the cake.

What are your go-to skin care products these days?

4 natural make-up removers for sensitive skin – eyana, salonindubai

by Lina Clémence May 29, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Make-up removal is an essential aspect of skincare. And there are few things that are as bad for your skin as sleeping with make-up on. But, using a harsh make-up remover can damage your skin. So, a good option is to choose a natural make-up remover. Here are 4 options:

* Coconut oil: The natural oil is an all-in-one moisturizer; works wonders for the hair and is also an effective makeup remover. Massage your skin with the oil, rinse it with warm water, and wipe off excess oil with a wet cloth.

* Yoghurt: Yogurt is not just a good probiotic. It can also moisturize the skin and relieve sunburns. For make-up removal, use cotton dipped in plain yogurt and applies it to your face and later rinse off with cool water.

* Cucumber: Cucumbers boast of anti-inflammatory properties and can give relief from irritated or acne-prone skin. Make a paste out of a cucumber and use it as a cleanser. You can add milk and olive oil to moisten the mixture, then apply and rinse.

* Milk: Drinking milk is healthy but applying it to your face or using it to remove your makeup is also a good option. Take a tablespoon of almond oil and add it to a bowlful of milk and apply with a cloth or cotton ball.
