Stay Cozy and Stylish This Season

by Lina Clémence August 2, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

As the leaves change and the air turns crisp, it’s time to transition your wardrobe from summer’s light fabrics to the warm, cozy layers of fall. A good coat is essential not only for keeping you warm but also for adding a touch of style to your autumn ensemble. Here’s a roundup of the top five coats you should consider adding to your collection this fall.

1. Classic Trench Coat

The trench coat is a timeless staple that effortlessly blends elegance with practicality. Made from water-resistant fabric, it features a belted waist and double-breasted design, making it perfect for unpredictable fall weather. Pair it with a sweater and jeans for a chic, laid-back look, or wear it over a dress for a more polished appearance.

2. Leather Jacket

No fall wardrobe is complete without a classic leather jacket. This edgy staple adds a touch of rebellion to any outfit. Whether you prefer a classic biker style or a sleek bomber, leather jackets come in various fits and finishes. Pair it with a floral dress for a chic contrast or throw it over a turtleneck and jeans for a laid-back vibe. Plus, it only gets better with age!

3. Houndstooth Wool Blazer

The houndstooth wool blazer adds a touch of sophistication and pattern to your fall wardrobe. Made from warm wool, this blazer features a classic houndstooth print that elevates any outfit. It’s versatile enough to be worn over a turtleneck for a smart casual look or layered under a coat for added warmth. Perfect for both office wear and evenings out, this blazer is a stylish addition to your fall collection.

4. Teddy Jacket

The teddy jacket is the ultimate in cozy fashion for fall. Made from soft, plush fabric, this jacket offers warmth and comfort without sacrificing style. Its relaxed fit and fluffy texture make it a great layering piece, perfect for wearing over casual outfits or even dressier ensembles. Available in various colors, it adds a touch of coziness and style to any autumn look.

5. Pile-Lined Jacket

The pile-lined jacket is another fantastic choice for staying warm this fall. Featuring a soft, fuzzy lining that traps heat, this jacket is perfect for chilly days. It often comes in a durable outer material, making it great for outdoor adventures. With its relaxed fit and comfortable feel, it pairs well with everything from jeans to skirts, ensuring you look stylish while staying cozy.

As you prepare for the fall season, investing in a stylish and functional coat is essential. Whether you prefer the classic sophistication of a trench, the rugged appeal of a wax jacket, or the ultra-cozy feel of a pile-lined jacket, there’s a perfect coat for everyone. Embrace the cooler weather with confidence and style, and enjoy the beautiful autumn days ahead!

Stay In and Stay Safe – Some Self-Care Tips if You’re Struggling with Isolation! – All Things Aesthetic

by Lina Clémence July 21, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hey guys! I hope you’re all staying safe in light of recent events. It’s a scary world right now, and I know that I’ve been feeling stressed, so my emails/comments are open if you need anyone to talk to (you can drop me a message here). While we are all staying in, I know that I will probably revert to a little bit of online shopping and I have a code for you guys if you wanna engage in some retail therapy while in isolation! A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to do an interview with Today’s Lifestyle, which you can read here. They have very kindly given me a code to use on their website, which hosts a fabulous range of skincare and haircare products:

1. (TDLS50) to get 50% DISCOUNT on the first purchase.
2. (TOP10BLOGGERS) for 10% DISCOUNT on the second purchase.

So I am currently pretty much in isolation due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak and it means I am actually stuck on my own in my uni room most of the time as all lectures are now being delivered online and I have to work from home. To keep calm, I would usually go to the gym and do a bit of sport, but my gym has closed and netball is called off. It’s great that measures are being taken to keep us safe, and I urge you to comply, but it can be really overwhelming. I’ve been struggling being on my own over the past few days, so I’m going to share some tips I have used to keep me calm.

Step 1 – Skincare

Just to confirm, I am in noooo way suggesting that you can cope with this outbreak by taking care of your skin. However, if you’re stuck in isolation it is so easy to feel sluggish, run down and, quite frankly, a little gross. Because of this, I am making sure I stick to my routine of cleanse/tone/moisturise so I at least feel slightly human. I am also using a nice facemask a couple of times a week which I have always found nice and relaxing. Some of my faves are:

Step 2 – Home Workouts

Staying active has always helped keep me calm when I am stressed, and I have been finding it really tricky not being able to go to the gym at the moment with everything that’s going on. As such, I have taken to doing some home workouts in my uni room. My advice would be to order yourself a couple of resistance bands (which can be purchased here) and search up some good online home workouts. One of my favourites can be found here.

Step 3 – Home Nail Treatments

So, I don’t know about you, but I always feel a bit better when I have my nails done. I’ve spoken about how I do my own gel nails before, and this week has been the perfect time to have a little pamper. You can buy your gel lamp here for £10, and you can click this link here to buy the shade Cashmere, which I am using. As it is quite a time consuming process which requires concentration, it is actually really therapeutic and can help take your mind off the worries of the outside world.

Step 4 – Talk to People and Stay Off Social Media

If you’ve been online recently, you have probably noticed that social media is filled with scary, and often fake, news. Have a little social media cleanse during this period definitely only listen to reliable sources for facts surrounding the pandemic. I’ve found the constant discussion of something which I am fearful of so draining, so I have been keeping a low profile online, choosing to stay in touch with my family and friends via text message instead of other platforms. Talking out my fears with people I love and trust has been extremely helpful. However, I do know that it can be difficult to share fears with people you know, and I want to reiterate how I am more than happy to offer advice/listen to your concerns.

I know this post hasn’t been very aesthetic orientated, but it didn’t feel right in light of recent events. While these tips may not work for everyone, they have helped me recently. Most importantly, though, KEEP SAFE. I’m sending positive thoughts out to everyone xxxx

12 tips to help you stay cool this summer

by Lina Clémence July 14, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

It’s officially as hot as Hades in London. And across most of Europe. Despite the scoffs of climate change deniers (dicks), last summer was roasting, and this one looks like it’s about to follow suit. So I am here to tell you how to look after yourself in this sweltering heat! Now, what gives me the credentials to dispatch this advice you ask? Well… my home town of Durban, South Africa is ridiculouisly humid hot. Like muggy, steamy heat. Pretty much all year round. And we didn’t have air conditioning. So…yeah… I may as well have a doctorate in this shit.

Swimsuit is Curvy Kate Wrapsody Multiway Swimsuit (gifted). Shop here. (AL)

1. Drink water

I know, I know. It’s pretty obvious. But seriously, your water bottle is your best friend. Take her everywhere with you. Refill her regularly. In the hot weather you should be drinking about 2 and a half litres (10 glasses) per day. But every body is different. So look out for the common signs you’re dehydrated – headache, feeling woozy, muscle cramps, not peeing very often, or really dark pee – and drink enough water to counter act them.

2. Buy a fan

Seriously, before the summer really gets into full swing buy yourself an electric, plug in fan. They are not crazy expensive (you can get a standard desk fan for under £20, in fact close to £10), they don’t take up much room if you get a little one so they can be easily stored, and the last a long time. I have still got the fan I bought the first summer I moved to London – 10 years ago.

Often places like Argos and the big supermarkets are the first to sell out of fans. Or you can buy online (but Amazon puts the prices up as the temperature rises. Here’s a tip – almost every high street in the country has one of those shops that sells all the random stuff – trolley bags, and cake tins, and plastic flowers, and hoola hoops. And they almost always have a stock of fans. (Shh don’t tell anyone)

And while you’re at it, if you have a steamy commute (shout out to the London tube crowd) get yourself a little rechargeable hand held fan. It’ll change your life. You can get them at stores like Tiger, or online.

3. Wear suitable clothing

It’s hot as balls. Really nudity would be preferable, but that’s frowned upon… but at least you can ensure you’re not further over heating by wearing additional layers because of body hang ups. Honestly, you don’t need to cover your arms, or wear full leggings in this heat. I promise you, no one will die because they were exposed to your additional flesh. They are all worrying about how to prevent themselves spontaneously combusting. The only reason you will get any odd looks is if you’re in a full cardigan in this heat.

Make sure you’re wearing natural fabrics where possible – cottons, linens etc, because polyester gonna make you sweat double time! And you are just going to be more comfortable if everyting is a little loose and flowing.

4. But maybe keep your bra on

If you are large of breast, you might want to think about investing in a few cotton bralets. Nobody wants to be in a restrictive tight underwire all day, but sometimes in the heat that feeling of flesh lying on flesh can be really uncomfortable and sweaty, so this is where a bralet will come in handy – especially for flopping around at home.

5. Keep makeup to a minimum

You just gonna sweat it off anyway… and that shit’s expensive.

6. Eat ice-cream

Obvs.

7. Sort out the chub rub

Sweating makes problems of chub rub infinitely worse. If you’re super active I would recomend a chub rub shorts brand like Chaffree for thin, breathable shorts to be worn under dresses and skirts. Sometimes for me it’s too hot for the shorts, so I prefer using IvyVerdure anti chaffing balm (you can currently get 15% off using the code Hayley15 on their website) as I find it creates a really effective barrier as long as your not doing excessive walking or exercise. And you can always reapply if you need a little more!

8. Have a cool bath

I cannot sleep if I am hot. And if I can’t sleep I get cranky and anxious and am no fun at all. I find having a cool bath or shower just before bed is the best way to cool me down enough to sleep. If it’s really hot then I won’t towel dry and instead sit naked in front of the fan until I’m dry and my whole body feels cool. And if I wake up in the night, roasting again, I will just go an have another cool shower – needs must.

I also tend to add Lush’s Silky Underwear powder into my personal hygeine routine in the summer – I use it under my tummy, and between my thighs because it makes me feel fresh and like it stops me from feeling all sweaty and ick in those places.

9. Wear sunscreen

You know what would make the boiling heat worse? Sunburn! I know in places like the UK we don’t get much sun, so it’s tempting to lie in it all day. But seriously – wear sunscreen. When you put it on, you should apply (no less than SPF 30, and with a high UVA rating [5 stars being the best]) it 20 minutes before going in the sun, and then I would apply more when you get in the sun – just to be sure you get it everywhere. And sunscreen should really be reapplied every 2 hours. But sunscreen can’t protect you completely, and it won’t help with the dehydration, so if you’re struggling sit in the shade!

10. Be prepared

I’ve already mentioned your new bestie, a reusable waterbottle, and your hand held rechargable fan. Carrying both helps keep my public transport anxiety in hot weather from getting too overwhelming. There are a couple of other things you might want to chuck in your hand bag too – in most chemists like Boots and Superdrug, you can get spring water spray – I tend to like the one Evian does, and the one Avene does. They can be a little on the pricey side, but they last quite a while, and are so refreshing when you’re all hot and sweaty. Particularly if you follow it up with a blast from your fan. And bring tissues. A fun side effect of one of the anti depressants I was on a couple of years ago was excessive facial sweating (sexy) and it still happens from time to time, so a tissue to mop my brow is useful.

11. Rest

Seriously. Rest. The heat takes it out of you. There is a reason for siestas in Spain. Don’t expect to be able to go at the same pace as usual, or get as much done. Your body will need rest, and you should let it. A little nap during the hottest part of the day (if possible) or when you get home from work is totally encouraged!

12. A special note for my fellow anti depressant takers

This is totally ridiculous, but a couple of weeks ago I found out just how much of an impact my anti depressants (sertraline) have on my experience of heat. Literally no one, not a single health care professional, had ever brought this to my attention. I had realised that other drugs I had been on before had given me a kind of  sun allergy, which meant I got a sort of sunburn rash when I was in the heat too long, but that went away when I changed my medicine. But it turns out that many anti depressants make regulating our body temperature really hard to do, and as a result we are likely to get dehydrated quicker, battle with extreme temperatures, get headaches, have blurred vision, feel disorientated and weak etc. Kinda some important stuff to know, don’t ya think? And definitely things I have experienced and just blamed on getting older, being fatter, not drinking enough water etc. You can read more about this here, but remember to take care of yourself extra specially, k? This is gonna be tough – make allowences.

That ended up being longer than I anticipated, but hopefully it helps! And if you have any tips or tricks, do leave them in the comments below. Stay cool babies <3

Summer edition Wishtrend review | Stay Pretty and be Happy

by Lina Clémence July 1, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Hi all,

Hope you are all enjoying the summertime right now!

Let me share some products I was able to try and test these past few months which I received from Wishtrend!

Are you curious?

So as usual, Wishtrend is super generous with their longtime Wishtrenders and I was able to receive 5 products for review.

So let’s start the reviews!

Dear Klairs Daily comfort hand sanitizer gel

This product came out after Covid so it makes sense why Klairs released this type of product.

It might seem odd since they are more a  skincare oriented brand, but they did expand in offering body care and I’m glad they did.

24-07-28-17-47-08-145_deco

I like that this comes in a pump bottle so it’s easy and hygienic to use.

I left this close to the entrance so I use it when I come home, or each time I feel the need to clean my hands a bit.

During Covid, it became a habit for people to use hand sanitizer. Some were horrible and left this sticky feeling or just smelled so strong that it made me sneeze.

Luckily this hand sanitizer is one of the good ones!

24-07-28-17-47-55-390_deco

It’s unscented and doesn’t have that strong alcohol scent to it.

The texture is like jelly and watery at the same time, it’s easy to spread on your hands to cleansd them. The best part is that there is no sticky finish at the end and it leaves your hands so soft to the touch.

I sometimes skip my hand cream and just use this when I want my hands to be soft!

Even if Covid is over, knocks on wood, it is still important to keep your hands clean!

This is a great hand sanitizer if you are looking for one!

Dear Klairs Daily Comfort Hand Cream

So this one came out around the same time as the hand sanitizer.

It’s a really nice complementary product to use after the hand sanitizer!

24-07-28-17-45-15-893_deco

This comes in the same type of pump bottle but this one is darker so you can differentiate the products.

This hand cream feels quite thick and rich but once you start applying it, it’s not greasy and just like the hand sanitizer it’s not sticky after.

24-07-28-17-46-29-393_deco

This is a big bottle and honestly I just skip this since the hand sanitizer is really nice on the hands .

I can’t carry this around, but there is a smaller format of this hand cream which is good.

This is unscented so it’s great for anyone just looking for a basic hand cream with a non greasy and sticky finish.

This is also a good product, but I just really like their hand sanitizer more.

Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum

This was Klairs answer to provide a more stable Vitamin C based serum.

24-07-28-17-39-56-598_deco

As per the bottle this is a vitamin c derivative serum so this is more stable than a vitamin c serum only.

This comes in a pump bottle and the bottle is completely opaque to protect the product.

The product itself feels a bit oily but it doesn’t feel oily once you start applying it.

24-07-28-17-41-09-495_deco

It glides easily on the skin so it’s easy to use. I am still a bit weary of using vitamin c product so I didn’t use this regularly and mostly used it at night.

But when I used this , thankfully my skin did not react badly. There was no warm/ burning feeling.

My skin did not seem to be more sensitive after using this.

This should help in getting brighter skin, but I didn’t see much change since I didn’t use it too regularly.

By Wishtrend Blue Oasis Aloe Hydrating serum

This is a renewed version of the serum. The packaging is different as it follows the same line as other By Wishtrend serums .

24-07-28-17-42-11-719_deco

Just like the old version this was a nice serum to use to give an extra layer of hydration to your skin.

I think this is still perfect to use during warmer days. It’s not heavy, it feels watery and preps your skin for the next step.

24-07-28-17-44-02-696_deco

I do feel this has a bit more body as it’s less watery than before but it still slides on the skin nicely.

There really isn’t much to say for this product, it just do what it promises just like it’s name.

So if you are looking for a no fuss serum, this could be for you!

By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Milky Foaming Wash

This is another version of their enzyme wash but this is more for people with sensitive skin.

24-07-28-17-37-20-676_deco

This is great to use to for a gentle exfoliation.

If you don’t like using powder enzyme, this is a great alternative as it already comes in a liquid version.

24-07-28-17-39-13-366_deco

A pump to 2 is enough for your whole face. It looks a bit like cream, you then massage it and add water to make it lather.

Your skin will feel nice and soft afterwards. But like any exfoliator, you shouldn’t use it everyday.

This is indeed not drying after use, which is great!

I still do prefer the powder enzyme as I like the feeling of the powder scrubbing on my skin.

This version is more practical though as you don’t have powder flying around, making you sneeze!

Conclusion

This was another great set of products to try. The one I was more surprised and loved to use was the hand sanitizer.

I just love how soft and clean my hands are after using it.

The blue oasis aloe hydrating serum is still nice to use during summer, so it’s still a winner to me!

You can get these products on Wishtrend and use my code  CFA553EA for a discount.

Thank you Wishtrend for this opportunity!

How to Stay Glowy All Season

by Lina Clémence June 21, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

Summer skin is all about looking fresh, glowy, breathable – basically like you just got back from the most relaxing beach weekend ever. Even if the closest you’ve been to sand is a local golf course or children’s park!

As you might have realized, I did not post last Saturday because I took some time off to take a girls’ trip to St. Maarten for my friend’s 50th birthday, which I wrote about pre-trip packing here if you missed it. I also posted a cute reel on my Instagram here if you’d like to see it.  It was certainly a trip of a lifetime.

It goes without saying that when the temps rise during this summer season, heavy makeup looks can feel, and appear, a little out of place. Effortless summer skin is actually about choosing the right products that work with your skin, along with layering correctly. Utilizing sheer layers of certain products is a biggie in creating a long-lasting look.

I’m aiming for polished and perfected skin that looks like I just got off my private yacht, ya know??! Ha Ha!

Keep reading to see my exact steps and products for achieving this summer glow-up. I’ve even got a handful of brand new launches included that are must-sees…

Pre-makeup Steps – Clean, Exfoliated Skin

Pre-makeup steps – Clean, Exfoliated Skin: Urban Skin Rx Even tone cleansing bar 3 in 1 treatment, $16.

I know it goes without saying at this point, but I have to remind women that rough, unkempt bare skin will ruin ANY makeup look. Be sure before you attempt any of these steps below that your skin is clean and exfoliated. The above bar does both in one step so well – I’m on my third one.

1. Tinted Moisturizer + Skin Oil

tarte BB Blur tinted moisturizer with SPF 30, shade medium, $42 + Good Molecules Ultra hydrating facial oil, $10.

Start with a multitasking base. A tinted sunscreen like this tarte one, evens and literally blurs out the skin while protecting it from harmful UV rays—because nothing ruins a summer glow like a sunburn! I’ve recently stumbled upon this one, and I’m in LOVE with it- just check the reviews!

It’s comfy and lightweight on the skin, and it does seriously blur pores, it’s wild!

highlighter, blush, concealer,

It has a naturally satin finish, but when my skin is feeling extra dry, I supercharge any foundation product by simply adding a skin oil to give me a dewier finish, mimicking that lit-from-within look. I apply a large squirt of the tarte and a couple drops of oil on the back of my hand like a palette,  mix together with my finger,  pat it onto my skin in dots, then use a buffing foundation brush, $15, to apply it with for the smoothest look.

2. Sheer Concealer

Revolution Skin Silk Under Eye Brightener + Concealer, $10. Shade “light peach.”

Always apply your concealer AFTER your tinted moisturizer or foundation, for the best outcome.  Ditch the full-coverage, thick concealers, and try a lightweight, hydrating concealer that can cover dark circles without caking. If you’re terrified of heavier concealers, this is the answer to your prayers. It’s SO sheer, yet SO effective at brightening like it says, but does not look like makeup once buffed in.

highlighter, blush, concealer,

I’m very impressed with this $10 dupe version of the Rare Beauty positive light under eye brightener, $24, that I used to love, but this one has an even better steel applicator.

3. Soft Focus Finishing Powder

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, $73. Shade “volume 1.”

highlighter, blush, concealer,

I don’t think a lot of powder is necessary, but adding a thin layer of it is useful for setting that tinted moisturizer and concealer. I swoosh together all 3 shades in this palette and apply just in the T-zone area of my face. If you are mega oily skinned though, this won’t be your best bet. I’d go for a blotting powder like this Fenty Beauty Invisimatte powder, $38, but it will still give you that blurred, beautiful effect.

4. Liquid Blush

Nars Afterglow Liquid Blush, “Aragon,” $32.
I received a few shades of this Nars liquid blush before I left on my trip, and this chestnut brown shade, Aragon, I ended up basically wearing every day while we were in St. Maarten!

highlighter, blush, concealer,

I swiped this warm chestnut shade high across my cheekbones, temples, and a bit on the bridge of my nose to fake that sun-kissed glow. The easy-to-apply sponge tip applicator and this non-streaky formula are wonderful. As for this specific shade, the words I would use to explain how it made me feel and look are “expensive” and “bronzed,” without needing a pink or peach, which are usually my go-to blush shades.

highlighter, blush, concealer,

Always using this Rare Beauty soft pinch cream blush brush, $23, to apply my cream and liquid blushes best with.

5. Skin-Enhancing Highlighter (can double as eyeshadow touches!)

Dior Backstage Glow palette, $48. Shade 001 Universal.

A highlighter adds that final touch of summer skin radiance. I tap a bit on the tops of my cheekbones, the inner corners of my eyes, and then right into the center of my lids. It gives that angel eyes + skin effect without the shimmer overload.

This 4-shade palette will forever be my go-to highlighter choice. It’s an iconic Dior product, and I love using all 4 shades on my eyelids as well! I mixed the white and gold to use on my eyes here, and a bit of the pink just on top of the liquid blush.

6. Finishing Touches. Lip Liner + Max Gloss + Setting Spray

Smashbox Be Legendary line and prime liner, $24. Shade: “medium brown.” + Milk Makeup Balmade Hydrating lip gloss, $18. Shade: “Quench.” + Revolution Makeup Superfix Setting spray, $15.

Keeping with the warm nude brown vibe, this lip combo is a beautiful choice. This soft liner in medium brown is a very neutral but healthy lip choice. Make sure, once applied, to blur edges with your finger.

And the brand new Balmade glosses are about the most hydrating I’ve used because of their electrolyte-rich complex (magnesium, copper, zinc) that gives lasting hydration, while coconut and aloe extracts help soothe and condition lips. My shade “quench” here is the perfect partner to my chestnut blush shade too. All of the shades are very, very sheer, though, so don’t go buying these expecting opaque color for your summer skin.

Now remember to lock in all of these layers with a setting mist – and I like the Revolution one linked above because it gives a soft matte finish with the help of soothing aloe and vitamin E.

highlighter, blush, concealer,

The Rest of My Look Details

A crisp white crochet or lace vest over a simple white tank is a chic summer vibe. I even wore this same vest over my swimsuit on my trip to St. Barts, as you can see in the above photo. So many options to get this look from Free People here, $68, Macy’s lace vest, $40, and Revolve pretty here $118. // Gold layered necklaces of all kinds is my fave. Similar waterproof Herringbone necklace here, $68, and charm necklaces from Anthropologie here, $65,  and Revolve here $53. // My pale pink impress press-on nails in shade “brushed pale,” $8. They look like a $60 manicure! // Black lightweight split leg pants for a breezy beach vibe – similar ones here $35 and here $26 // My clear gold ring toe Target sandals on sale for $20

Stay radiant, my friends! How’s your summer going so far?
