Stress Away Essential Oil Blend Recipe

Young Living’s essential oil blend, Stress Away is by far my favorite blend EVER. I’ve already remade this blend 3 times and making today a 4th bottle! It’s a vanilla lovers dream. I have put it in all my DIY skincare products I’ve made lately and even made a roll on to wear it as a perfume. It has warm, comforting notes of vanilla with subtle citrus and lavender top notes. There is a woodsy base note with a slight hint of cinnamon. It may seem like an odd combination but trust me, if you like vanilla, you’ll love Stress Away. Honestly the name doesn’t do it justice-it needs a more exotic name.

Since I have remade this essential oil blend I have experimented with adding more lavender here, a little more lime there and honestly, there’s no variation of proportions that mess it up. Vanilla is a strong scent and as long as it makes up the largest amount of drops, your blend will be fine.

If you are very familiar with the original blend, copaiba is the essential oil the blend contains the most of. However, the blend contains vanilla, not vanilla absolute or vanilla oleoresin.

My recipe is for 15ml but I will also give you a recipe for 5ml in case you’d like to try it first.

What is Stress Away Essential Oil Blend?

Stress Away was formulated to help reduce stress and relax the mind. It has a happy, uplifting scent that has often been described as tropical due to the vanilla and lime.

When the pressure is on, find a moment of calm with this blend’s peaceful, sweet-citrus aroma. Created by Young Living Founder D. Gary Young, Young Living Stress Away essential oil blend combines aromas from around the world, offering an on-the-go getaway from your most high-pressure moments. Whether you diffuse it or mix it into your lotion, let its uplifting aroma be part of your happy and positive day, every day.

What You’ll Need to Make Stress Away Blend:

Materials

  • 117 drops vanilla absolut
  • 57 drops copaiba
  • 57 drops lime
  • 27 drops lavender
  • 27 drops cedarwood
  • 15 drops ocotea (or cinnamon bark)

Instructions

  1. Add all the essential oils into a glass bottle.
  2. Replace the cap and shake!
  3. If diffusing, use 10 drops in a diffuser.

Notes

  • It is normal for the vanilla to not mix well with the rest of the essential oils. However, this is not an issue with the scent. I recommend shaking it before each use.
  • Use DIY Stress Away essential oil blend to diffuse, as a scent in DIY skincare, combine 40 drops with distilled water and a tbsp. of witch hazel for a room spray, linen spray or air freshener or add 20-30 drops to a roll on bottle with sweet almond oil apply to pulse points for relaxation or perfume!

How to Use DIY Stress Away Essential Oil Blend:

  • Diffuse 10 drops in a diffuser.
  • Add 40-60 drops to a glass spray bottle plus distilled water and 1 tablespoon of witch hazel or vodka for a room spray/linen spray.
  • Add 10-20 drops to a roll on bottle and top off with sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil or fractionated coconut oil for stressful moments or as a perfume!
  • Add to DIY skincare products like body oils, lotions, face oil or even a serum.
  • Use in a DIY reed diffuser.
  • Put 1-3 drops of a cotton ball and place in your car air conditioning vents.

You might be wondering why make your own when you can just buy it on Amazon or from a YL dealer? Well, you totally can buy the original but I diffuse a lot and as stated earlier have already gone through 3 DIY bottles and just made a 4th. While spending the money on 6 essential oils upfront may seem like a lot, I am definitely saving money since I love this blend so much. Plus, hopefully you have a few of the oils already.

I have all my YL essential oil blend dupes all in one place now for easy access! Which is your favorite?

xx, Jenni
