Untukku pribadi brand Clinelle ini sudah cukup familiar, karena dari beberapa tahun lalu sempat mencoba range nya seperti WhitenUp & Pure Swiss Hydra Calm. Kebetulan saat mencoba beberapa produk dari series tersebut belum ada yang gak cocok sama formulanya. Makanya seneng banget kali ini dapat kesempatan untuk nyobain produk mereka dari range Caviar Gold.

Produk-produk dari Caviar Gold ini memang fokusnya lebih ke anti aging yang diformulasi tanpa paraben, artifical fragrance , non – comedogenic ingredients & no mineral oil. Jadi untuk bumil & sensitive skin harusnya aman.

Memiliki key ingredient Caviar yang memang bagus untuk treat wrinkles, fine lines, mengencangkan kulit & nourishing.

Produk yang hampir 3 minggu ini aku coba dari Caviar Gold adalah newly launched mereka — Treatment Concentrate & moisturizer nya, yaitu Firming Cream.

Langsung aja ya aku bahas karena memang mereka ini menarik banget , baik dari segi formula & ingredients nya.

Caviar Gold Treatment Concentate

Untuk packaging, selain ada dus nya yang dominan black-gold, botolnya ini dari kaca yang cukup berat. Jadi dipegang itu manteb dan keliatan mewah. Botolnya berwarna cokelat gelap dan tidak tembus pandang, jadi melindungi produk dari cahaya matahari.

Dia ini memang basically face oil dengan kandungan 6 Natural Botanical Oils & Caviar Extract. That being said, ini adalah tipe oil-blends yang terdiri dari : Seabuckthorn Oil , Sweet Almond Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Oil & Hazelnut Oil. Jadi memang kaca sekali ya dengan fatty acids yang bagus banget untuk melembabkan dan barrier-boosting kulit. Setauku juga oil-oil tersebut juga sifatnya non-comedogenic kok jadi gak perlu takut clogged pores.Oil-oil yang terkandung dalam Treatment Concentrate ini juga kaya antioxidant , jadi mantul untuk menangkal radikal bebas

Untuk tekstur dia sangat ringan, tipe dry-oil yang runny . Saking ringannya , dia ini nyaman juga dipakai di pagi hari karena menurutku dia nyerepnya cepet dan gak bikin kulit greasy apalagi kalau dimix dengan moisturizer (Firming Cream) . Dipakai sendiri pun dia tetep nyaman dikulitku, ngunci nya oke tapi juga gak berat pas dipake. Bisa dipakai untuk all skin types, selama kulit kalian cocok dengan kandungan-kandungan oil yang ada.

Nah, Firming Cream nya ini menurutku pasangan yang klop banget sama Treatment Concentrate ini. They really compliment each other.

Moisturizer nya punya tekstur cream yang Termasuk lightweight dikulitku, kelembaban nya sangat pas untuk dipakai di morning routine tapi kalau malam aku butuh extra moisture jadi dengan cara si Firming Cream dimix dengan si face oil Treatment Concentrate ini feels nya wenaaak banget dikulit

Formula moisturizer nya sendiri ini udah enak, dia bikin kulit lembab dengan porsi yang pas. Tapi begitu dipakainya barengan dengan Treatment Concentrate bener-bener bikin kulit kuenyal. Dan pas pagi bangun kulit berasa menul dan soft to the touch. Apakah bikin minyakan pas bangun pagi ? Enggak sama sekali.

Ini kulitku setelah pakai Firming Cream dimix dengan Treatment Concentrate , keliatan glowing ya tapi pas dipegang sama sekali gak becek minyakan. Jadi kulit kayak sehat aja gitu.

Buat yang kulitnya kering, kalian mau pakai Treatment Concentrate tanpa dimix Firming Cream pun bisa banget ya. Kadang juga aku pakai sendiri di step terakhir setelah moisturizer Firming Cream. Hasilnya dikulit juga gak kalah bagus kok, malah dgn cara kayak gini yang kulit kering pasti bakal terkunci awet kelembaban .

Jadi intinya sih memang silahkan kalian sesuaikan dengan kulit masing-masing ya.

Can Su:M37 Secret Essence replace SK-II Facial Treatment Essence?

Sometime at the end of last year, I finished a 230ml bottle of Su:M37° Secret Essence Advanced Sync Program. It was a limited edition and I’d paid quite a bit for that bottle. I used it once in the morning every day and it lasted me almost a year!

I didn’t fall in love with this product immediately but as I continued to use, I was happy with its performance and so now that I’ve finished the bottle, I’m thinking of repurchasing it.

Premium Korean skin care range

Su:M37° is pronounced as “soom 37”. We’re talking about a premium Korean skin care range that’s definitely not wallet-friendly. But there’s a good reason: This range uses a natural fermentation process to extract concentrated goodness from a whooping 80 types of seasonal plants for at least a year!

And even more interesting is that only the beneficial ingredients are filtered out at an optimal temperature of 37°C to create Cytosis®, the essence of SU:M37° in all its products.

Because of this unique formulation process, the products under the range are free of fragrances, artificial colors and synthetic preservatives. They are also said to be hypoallergenic and safe for most skin types.

Better than SK-II Facial Treatment Essence?

Su:M37° Secret Essence Advanced Sync Program is the bestseller in the Su:M37° series of products. I was reminded of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence when I first stumbled upon Su:M37° Secret Essence. I suppose it’s because both products are formulated with ingredients derived from the process of fermentation.

Su:M37° Secret Essence comes with Cytosis® derived from natural fermentation while SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is formulated with PITERA™, a natural bio-ingredient derived from yeast fermentation.

Another similarity is that both are pricey with Su:M37° Secret Essence on the lower range.

However, they’re not really the same when it comes to product consistency nor usage.

Su:M37° Secret Essence feels thick and takes awhile to sink into the skin than SK-II Facial Treatment Essence which feels more like a toner that gets absorb quickly. That’s why they can’t really replace each other. In fact, I’ve read that some ladies use Su:M37° Secret Essence over SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. Very lavish IMO.

Difference ways to use Su:M37° Secret Essence

For those of us who can’t afford that combination, I’d suggest using Su:M37° Secret Essence over a normal toner instead. Any toner will suffice but if you prefer, pick a Korean brand like I did with Pyunkang Yul. But there were days I used Su:M37° Secret Essence with Aromatica Rose Absolute First Serum (which I absolutely love). The combination is a bit luxe but it’s still not as lavish as with the SK-II combo.

I also know of women who applied the 7-skin method using Su:M37° Secret Essence. For those who have not heard, the 7-skin method is to apply a toner or serum 7 times. This is a K-beauty tip to improve hydration and minimize products in your skin care routine.

Personally I find this method lavish as well when it comes to using Su:M37° Secret Essence. If I’d tried this method, the essence would probably have only lasted me only 3 months. What I did try occasionally was to use the 3-skin approach and that is, to apply the essence 3 times.

As to how you do this skin method is simple. Just apply the essence once, and before it’s fully absorbed, apply the next layer and so on for 3 times or 7 times if you wish.

Anyway, I just wanted to present you with the different ways to use Su:M37° Secret Essence. If you do get this product, you’ll be able to use it more than one way.

My experience with Su:M37° Secret Essence

So why do I enjoy Su:M37° Secret Essence so much that I’m considering to repurchase it despite its steep price point?

I love it for its hydrating and nourishing properties. I definitely experienced improve hydration gradually over time. My skin was feeling less oily in the day when I used this product and the difference is even more apparent when I stopped using it now.

In addition, this essence is so lightweight that it works extremely well with my other skin care products. I can absolutely slather a moisturizer or sunscreen over without having my skin feeling heavy or sticky.

Some ladies have said they experienced a brightening effect with this essence but I didn’t notice a difference. I’m sure having the skin more hydrated helped to improve radiance but I didn’t see any brightening effects.

Su:M37° Secret Essence comes with a long list of ingredients. But its key ingredients are Cytosis with a blend of Niacinamide and Ferulic Acid. On top of being hydrating, this essence has antioxidant properties, making it a great product for anti-aging. I have to concede that every application makes my skin soft and smooth.

An added bonus is that it smells great…a slight citrus scent with a hint of lavender so it’s very enjoyable to use.

Price and availability

While I love this product, I wouldn’t say this is a must-buy especially given the rather high price point. It’s more of a good to get if you have extra budget and you’re looking for a new Korean product to try.

If I remember correctly, I paid over S$200 for the limited edition of Su:M37° Secret Essence Advanced Sync Program at Tangs. What’s available usually is their 80ml bottle retailing at S$108 in Tangs. I believe you can get it for cheaper online but I just want to add that you should check the source of your purchase to prevent issues of counterfeit products and inappropriate storage under our humid conditions.

My experience with buying cosmetics from online stores (a big one that runs frequent promo at that) is that some of them do not know how to store natural and organic skin care products. I’ve had an instance where a cleanser came smelling rancid even before I began using it! So if you do purchase this online, do check your source and ensure they’re reliable in storing and handling cosmetics.

Btw bulan lalu aku mencoba produk perawatan rambut dari Jepang yang namanya Moist Diane 😀 Biasanya sih aku pake shampoo yang mudah didapatkan di minimarket terdekat, tapi SLS nya terlalu banyak dan bikin rambutku jadi kurang sehat. Nahh kali ini aku mo coba Moist Diane yang katanya sangat populer di Jepang dan bisa terjual 1.000.000 botol dalam 10 hari.

BUSA: Busanya minim, karena tidak mengandung sulfat 😀 Jadi biasanya aku butuh sekitar 4-6 pump karena rambutku tergolong tebal dan panjang medium.

Setelah menggunakan rangkaian Moist Diane Extra Fresh & Hydrate ini selama 1 bulan, I LOVE IT ♥♥
Rambutku jadi ekstra segar dan ngga lepek 2 hari, padahal cuaca di Surabaya gerah banget /lap keringat. Aku sih pribadi lebih cocok dengan Shampoonya, untuk Treatment aku kurang merasakan banyak perbedaan yang signifikan (mungkin lain kali aku cobain Treatment yang seri lain deh agar bisa compare). Rambutku juga jadi lumayan halus dan ngga susah diatur 🙂

Can I Use Vitamin C After Laser Treatment?

Let me share a story. Last year, I had my first ever laser skin treatment (the Moxi laser). At the end of the service, I was given post-care instructions on how to take care of my skin at home to ensure I am not using anything that may impede the healing process.

There were four rules.
1. Do not use any retinol or retinoids for 10 days.
2. Do not use any exfoliating acids for 10 days.
3. Do not use any a vitamin C serum for 10 days.
4. Wear SPF daily when exposed to UV rays.

Why do they say NOT to use a vitamin C serum after a laser treatment?

As an esthetician with 35 years of hands-on experience and someone who gives facial treatments (but not lasers), I understood why they said not to use vitamin C products because generally vitamin C products are formulated with L-ascorbic acid (LAA), with low pHs in the 3.5 range. This puts the skin in an acidic state, as represented by the stinging sensation that can often be felt. The last thing you want is to cause any further irritation to a compromised skin barrier.

Why did I choose to use a vitamin C serum after a laser treatment?

What I know as an esthetician is that of ALL the times your skin requires antioxidants it is after a laser procedure because of the increase of free radical activity. Your skin benefits greatly from topical antioxidants to help with the recovery process.

So I took matters into my own hands, I broke one of the rules. I used Renée Rouleau Vitamin C + E Treatment (a no-sting formula with a skin-compatible pH of 5.3). Instead of using the ascorbic acid form of vitamin C, this uses THD Ascorbate which is now considered to be the most stable form of vitamin C and the new “the gold standard of vitamin C”. Unlike ascorbic acid, it doesn’t need that low pH to be effective so it won’t leave your skin with an “acid burn“. Even though my skin was very sensitive post-laser, I didn’t experience ANY irritation or further damage to my skin’s barrier.

Did you do anything else to help expedite healing?

For a few hours after the laser treatment I had full body chills. I realized this was a natural response for my body to regulate its temperature and so this was a sign my body was being affected. Because of this, I loaded up on oral antioxidant supplements, specifically 1000 mg of vitamin C, to help aid in the healing process.

In summary…

My skin healed from the redness, tightness, flakiness and dryness beautifully and I know my skin greatly benefited from using vitamin C after a laser treatment. The anti-inflammatory effects that a topical anti-oxidant serum can give, as well as fueling my body from the inside with vitamin C. And now, because I shared my findings, Refine Aesthetics in Austin, TX is recommending the Renée Rouleau Vitamin C&E Treatment to their patients after laser treatments!

OK, I admit, it’s been a hot minute since I last went for a full-on facial. You’re meant to get your pores cleared and blackheads extracted at least once a month, but I haven’t had it done in a while (you really don’t wanna know how long it’s been), so suffice it to say, my skin’s been suffering.

I was approached by Celmonze The Signature and given the chance to try out their Appelution (anti-aging) treatment recently, and obviously I was game.

Celmonze is a Paris-based professional skincare salon, with research labs based in Europe and North America. They introduced Celmonze The Signature salons, which is currently celebrating its 2nd anniversary. They’ve launched a pretty interesting campaign in conjunction with their anniversary – “Where Beauty Meets Innovation”, featuring 3 successful women who have “successfully innovated themselves to achieve their goals in life”. Back to the treatment, Appelution is an innovative facial treatment aimed at solving 5 skin problems – dehydration, sagging, dull skin, pores and pigmentation. The treatment is based on and utilises swiss apple stem cell, derived from a special species of apple called Uttweiler Spatlauber. This treatment took 7 years of research to perfect. It is meant to make your skin look more youthful and luminous.

In case you were wondering, it’s needle-free (phew!). It uses a device called a Titanium Mesojet to deliver the skincare treatment deep into the skin. It feels like a very tiny massage device on your skin, and only stings the tiniest, teensiest little bit when the device hits your facial bones like the cheekbones.

I won’t bore you with the details, I’m sure you want the real-life treatment process instead, so here it goes.

When I first arrived, I was taken into consultation, where they analysed my skin with a micro-camera. They then decided that my skin was too sensitive and troubled (read: badly maintainted!) to proceed with the Appelution treatment from the get-go, so we started with 2 facial sessions first called ‘Medify’. These really helped clear out my pores, and cleanse and hydrate my skin. That took about 2 weeks to complete, and then I was ready for the Appelution treatment itself.

The facial rooms were extremely well-maintained (I visited their Sri Petaling branch) and clean, and the facial therapist was lovely. There’s an awesome hot stone massage at the end of each facial, and she immediately changed the pressure of my massage to suit me when I told her that her initial pressure was too strong for my liking.

On to the facial itself. We started with the usual facial cleansing, massage, a light peeling exfoliator, and then my favourite – extraction (it just makes me feel like my skin is going to be so clean and fresh after). Once that was done, the actual treatment began. The Titanium Mesojet device was brought in, and the therapist started loading the treatments into the machine. All in all, there are 5 activators/concentrates that are applied to your skin – Fresh Makeover for hydration, Fast Recharger with antioxidants and to boost blood circulation, Quick Fixer to cover fine lines (yay!), Insta Younger to smooth pores, and Visi-Illuminator to boost the skin’s glow. Each activator is used for 1 facial session.

The application process was very quick, maybe about 10-20 minutes in total, and the entire facial was an hour long, so I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a relaxing lunchtime skin-boost. There is no downtime for this facial – just bring along some makeup to touch up after you’re done and you’ll be ready to head back to the office with ‘glowier’ skin.

Once I was done, I was taken into consultation again to check on the progress of my skin. It was definitely instantly more glowy, it felt hydrated, and I felt friggin’ amazing after that hot stone massage. There are skincare products that come in little vials that you’re given to take back so you can maintain your skin after the facial, the Appelution Stem Cell Concentrate and the Appelution Power Repair – both to boost your skin’s youthfulness. There are also extra skincare products you can purchase if you want to – a Stem Cell Complex infused with Vitamin C and antioxidants, and a Lifting Flash Essence with hyaluronic acid to restore the skin’s elasticity and firmness.

It’s been a week since the facial, and I can definitely see how much smoother and firmer my skin has become. As far as my pores go, they’re slightly smaller, but they’re definitely still visible, and the makeup still settles in there (my pet peeve), but I’m still optimistic because they have actually shrunk in size a little, and that’s a win for me. I’ll keep an eye on them and see if there are any further improvements, but do bear in mind that even if a treatment shrinks your pores, they’re not gonna stay shrunk for long if you don’t upkeep your skin and go for monthly (at least) extraction facials (and yes, I am talking to myself when I say this!).

I’m really happy with my entire experience at Celmonze The Signature, and I will definitely be going back to get more facial treatments done. I’ll be releasing a more in-depth review of the Appelution treatment once I’ve had the chance to observe my skin a little bit more, and I will be sharing that soon.

Watermelon Glow Mask is also known as a sleeping mask or mask that is used overnight during sleep which serves to moisturize and protect the face during sleep. It makes your face glow and brighter in the morning.

Watermelon Glow Mask use watermelon and banana as their main ingredients.

Watermelon has a very high water content and serves to provide maximum moisture to the face. Watermelon is also rich of antioxidants that could protect facial skin from the effects of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Banana has potassium that strengthen the antioxidant which can also give your skin an extra moisture. Pisang contains 22% of vitamin B-6 dan 17% of vitamin C, vitamin A and E, niacin, riboflavin, zinc dan selenium.

I love how they use pink color for the tube. it looks classy.

Lacoco ini against animal testing and also it’s paraben free

so it’s very safe to use for the skin.

It has quite a nice smell that actually disappear after applied to the face, so it’s very mild. too bad it smells nothing like watermelon for me.

It has quite a watery texture instead of thick and oily. It’s also well absorbed to the skin! a bit sticky at first but then after a while, since it’s well absorbed, it’s not sticky anymore.

You only need few amount of products and it’s enough for the whole face, for my case.

How to use:

Use this mask last after all your skin care routine.

apply generous amount to the face and neck, leave it overnight

wash thoroughly in the morning.

Nah I wanna share my experience here,

I’ve used this for a almost a month. dan for the first 2-3 weeks kulitku lagi sangat bermasalah.

I’m pretty sure it’s not because of the mask, but If I may guess it’s because I tried new toner/skin conditioner or new face wash yang ternyata ga cocok. my skin’s getting less itchy and better after I stop using that products and kinda stop this mask also for a while and just let me skin breathe for couple days, then I continue using this again.

the glow mask is kinda sticky IF you wear too much, but if it’s just generous amount, it’s not as sticky and as I said before, it’s very well absorbed.

Pertama pakai di kulit sangat lembab dan beneran paginya berasa supple banget kulitnya. but I have to say this product DOESN’T HELP with soothing my redness and irritation. It doesn’t help either with my acne, yang kalo aku boleh compare sama sleeping mask yang aku pakai sebelumnya itu bener2 bantu my irritated skin and most of the times, acne.
you can see my picture up there, it’s like nothing change for my skin tho.

I don’t use alot of layers of skincare coz the more I use, the more my skin irritated and it’s super annoying, so i’m using a very basic skincare which is toner, moisturized, eye cream, acne spot gel and last but not least sleeping mask.

I feel using less means more to my skin. the more skincare I use, the more my skin feels too oily and dehydrated. I don’t know why but that’s how I felt.

Jadi intinya sih ini ga sesuai expectation.

it gives my skin nice moisture, but sometimes too much jadi agak oily in the morning instead of glowy. Glowy dan Oily berbeda yah sis!

I see no face brigthening juga karena wajahku tetap merah-merah, which the claim said it helps reducing the redness, but not for my case.

I’m not saying that this is a bad product, I can’t even say it’s a bad product just because it doesn’t fit my expectation. It’s just kulitku aja mungkin yang ga cocok. But hey, aku baru pake sebulanan loh!

How to use:
Use 3-4 pumps place to your hand, apply it to your feminine area that’s dry and clean.
wait till it absorbed well. do not wash after use.

It has very liquidy texture, bener-bener cair dan ini sama skali ga lengket
it has also a very subtle scent, no after effect suck as being oily after application.
it’s well absorbed kalo ditangan but down there might take a while.

Here’s my experience!
I’ve never use anything like this before, biasa aku cuman pake feminine wash and biasa pake lotion aja dibagian luarnya. So it’s kinda my first time, which I have no expectation whatsoever for this product. Aku pake sehari cuman sekali and I use usually 2 pumps only. it took a while to absorbed like I said before.

one thing yang aku kaget sebenernya, cos I thought this product should be something that against bad things but instead bad stuff happens.
Aku sadar setelah memakai ini selama 2 minggu, bagian luar area V ku jadi super duper gatel yang sangat ga bisa kalo ga di garuk, jadinya malah luka.
I don’t know why, beberapa temenku pake ini fine-fine aja, di aku malah jadi gatel parah.
jadi cause redness and jadi pake celana dalam ga nyaman,

So I decided to stop using it and back using lotion like i used to do,
Gatelnya ga langsung ilang but lama lama ilang gatelnya setelah totally berhenti pake ini.
why is this happening to me?
Aku pernah ngalamin 2x area V ku gatel dan sampe bawa ke dokter di kasih obat, Aku kira ini kambuh, cuman ternyata gatelnya beda tempat and pas berhenti pake jadi mulai menghilang gatelnya berarti karena productnya.

Aku memang ga expect apapun sih dari ini, but to experience such discomfort is not a pleasant experience.
THIS IS NOT A BAD PRODUCT! karena kenyataannya banyak yang coba dan cocok, berarti kulitku aja yang emang ga cocok.
Adakah yang coba pake ini dan ngalamin kayak aku?

So I guess that’s my review of these 2 products.
I notice as I get older, my skin becomes more sensitive and picky. Not all natural claimed products suits my skin also, when I thought isn’t it supposed to be safer to use? but why my skin reacts differently?
Even I can’t use any kind of body moisturizer, dulu bisa pake apa aja, sekarang ga bisa.
Punggung ku bisa jadi jerawatan kalo ga cocok sama lotionnya.

Tried this microneedling treatment and it shaved years off my age! » myBeautyCravings

A year ago, I tried an anti-aging aesthetic treatment – Secret DUO – and looked years younger within a week. Fast forward to 2025, I’ve gone through four treatments and am updating this post to share my latest thoughts.

If you wonder, I still love and will continue with this treatment. Read on to find out more about Secret Duo, a treatment that combines RF microneedling with Erbium Glass Laser to reverse the signs of aging.

What is Secret DUO aesthetic treatment?

Secret DUO is an FDA-approved treatment that comprises two steps in its treatment. The first being Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling which delivers RF energy at various depths (0.5mm to 3.5mm) using medical-grade needles. The needles are intended to cause controlled micro-injuries to stimulate collagen production.

The second step of Secret DUO is the 1540 nm fractional Erbium Glass Laser, which targets the skin’s inner layer using fractional laser beams. These laser creates controlled micro-injuries in the dermis and stimulates collagen production.

Prior to that, let me show you how it’s like going through Secret DUO treatment.

Secret DUO: Let the anti-aging treatment begin

(Here, you read about my first experience, recorded in 2024. I’ll sprinkle 2025 updates within too)

Upon arriving at Cutis Medical Laser Clinics, the staff spent the first hour cleansing my face and sharing things I needed to know about the treatment.

Fan – the clinic staff – whom I have known for more than a decade was very thorough when she went through the potential side effects as well as the dos and don’ts post-treatment.

She also applied numbing cream, which I thought is an important step to minimize discomfort, especially since many needles will be poking the skin at the same time.

About to receive Secret Duo treatment

Step 1: RF Microneedling

Dr. Sylvia Ramirez – my favorite aesthetician doctor – started the microneedling procedure. It was a walk in the park and almost pain-free throughout.

See the golden needles? Every patient will use a new cartridge.

I only felt some mild stinging at two spots – above my upper lips and upper cheeks. On a scale of 1 to 10, the part with some sensation was probably a 1/10.

How deep did the needle go? Dr Sylvia shared that my upper cheeks were treated at 1.8mm while my lower jaws received deeper poking at 2.5mm.

Update 2025: Pain could vary among individuals, and also dependent on your skin condition (and needles depth prescribed). In my experience, the pain is mostly bearable (up to 2 or 3/10) since numbing cream is applied.

Any blood?

Having watched videos on microneedling procedure, I was expecting blood on my face. But nope! Not a single drop. My face just looked pinkish or tanned.

Dr. Sylvia explained that Caucasians have higher tendency to bleed due to thinner skin.

Step 2: Continue with Erbium Laser

The second treatment was not invasive and quite easy to go through. I only felt warm sensation from the laser beam. Dr. Sylvia described it as floating over my skin, and this laser would reduce redness and promote healing.

All in all, both treatments were completed within 40 minutes. The staff handed me a bag containing a bottle of vinegar water, cleansing wipes and a sample size of Dr. Sylvia Vital Repair Cream.

Seeing how pink my face was and the insecurity of not having any makeup on, I headed home immediately.

My advice is to avoid scheduling any social activities after the treatment or even for the next 3 days or so. Read on as I share more post-care tips and FAQs in the next section.

FAQs on SECRET DUO treatment

Q1: Can you apply makeup after treatment?

Apply light makeup after 2 to 3 days.

Q2: Can you use your normal skincare products?

Stay away from harsh skincare products. In fact, the clinic gave me vinegar water which was to replace my facial wash.

I was also advised to stay away from all my usual skincare products and use the prescribed Dr. Sylvia Vital Repair Cream for at least the first 3 days.

Q3. Can you apply sunblock?

I was advised to stay away from sunblock for the first 3 days. Of course, this also meant I had to stay indoor and avoid the sun.

Q4. Can you exercise after Secret DUO treatment?

Avoid any exercise until the skin has fully healed or for the first 3 days post-treatment.

Q5. How long is the downtime?

The skin may appear red with mild swelling in the first few days. Based on my experience, my skin looked normal by Day 2. To me, the downtime was more on not being able to wear makeup or sunscreen on Day 2. 🙂

However, do prep for skin flaking to begin around Day 4 and 5. If you are vain, you may feel slightly self-conscious on these 2 days (typically a Mon to Tue for me when I do my treatment on a Fri).

Q6. When can I start seeing improvements? How long can they last?

According to the clinic, you can expect to see continuous improvement for six months after treatment. Within a month, patients are likely to experience improvement in elasticity, firmness, smoothness, and texture. Read my day-by-day account below.

Day-by-Day Recovery Account: Secret DUO

Day 1 (Fri): Pink but no pain

By the time I reached home, there was no pain or discomfort. But the face was still pink and patchy.

I showered as usual, replacing my facial wash with the vinegar water provided. To my pleasant surprise, my face didn’t sting at all.

In fact, the vinegar water (which I was advised to store in the fridge) felt really cooling and comfortable.

Day 2 (Sat): Looked Normal

I slept very well. It was as if I had nothing done to my face except for the slight pinkiness. As I had to stay away from my own skincare, sunblock and makeup, I only went out in the evening.

My man said I looked the same and he couldn’t tell that I had been poked by multiple needles the day before.

Day 3 (Sun): I can feel the Micro Scabs

Micro scabs that were invisible to the eyes had formed. The skin felt rough and I could see tiny dots of scab, but only if I zoomed in on the photos taken.

Although I was told to avoid sunblock, I decided to take the risk as I really wanted to go out and it was a hot and sunny day. The mineral sunblock I’d on hand – Suncut Prodefense Whitening UV Sunscreen Essence – came in handy as I read that we should apply physical sunblock instead of chemical ones after microneedling.

Day 4 (Mon): Back to Work

I started using my own cleanser – Ceptaphil Cleanser – in place of the vinegar wash. Though I could see micro scabs when I zoomed in on the photos, it wasn’t visible unless someone was standing super super close to me.

Micro scabs appeared as black tiny dots.

It was also great that I could officially start applying makeup. My favourite BB cream was able to cover the scabs and patchiness. Therefore, being at work or in social setting didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.

By night fall, the flaking was more obvious. I started appreciating Dr. Sylvia Vital Repair Cream as it provided sufficient moisture to my peeling skin, but yet felt comfortable without excess grease. The face felt velvety smooth and I really enjoyed using the cream.

Update 2025: Rate of healing may vary. For example, in one of the four treatments I had, moderate peeling began on Monday (Day 4). And I felt a bit self-conscious.

Day 5 to Day 7: Flaking of Skin

In the next three days, skin felt and appeared dehydrated. The skin started flaking and micro scabs started coming off.

Black micro dots (scabs) nearer the ears were the last to go away, as there’s less movement in that area to trigger peeling.

One Week Later: Everything back to normal

Everything resumed normalcy on Day 8 – skin hydration level and all. Skin flaking and patchiness were gone.

I could also start seeing the benefits promised by Secret DUO, such as smaller-looking pores and firmer skin. On Day 9, I wrote this in my beauty diary “Feel like doing more sessions.”

Day 9 – started noticing firmer and more supple skin

Day 10 to 14: Compliments Received

From Day 10 onwards, I started receiving unsolicited compliments. My man said I looked “glowy” and more “tender”. Wow, what does it mean to look tender? I’m not a chicken or steak. Upon clarification, he said I looked younger. 🙂

The next day, one of my colleagues asked if I did something to my face. She said I looked “more radiant and nice….smoother”. The effect must have been so pronounced as she started enquiring earnestly on the details, such as what I did, where I did it, how much it cost etc.

Update 2025: Such unsolicited compliments came every time I did the Secret Duo treatment. Therefore, any social discomfort or inconvenience is worth it!

How about some before-after photos? These would be comparing Day 1 (before treatment) with Day 17 post-treatment photos.

You can see the left nasolabial seemed fainter.

My skin also appeared a tad brighter. The “radiance” effect was even more pronounced during my first Secret Duo treatment (for info, this is the second session, done about two months after the first).

Look at the curvature of my left cheek against the background. Can you see that the curvature in the AFTER photo is more rounded? What else do you notice?

If the improvement in the laugh lines weren’t obvious in the earlier (static) photos, I thought they looked quite obvious now. Definitely much shallower in depth.

Look at the edge of my lips. Can you see that my laugh line was shortened by a cm or so.

The most noticeable difference from photos is the improvement in laugh lines. Outside of photos, I also noticed better skin tone (like the dead skin has been exfoliated to reveal newer and brighter skin).

Skin firmness has definitely improved too. Being almost pain-free and with short downtime makes this an easy treatment to squeeze in over the weekend.

Update 2025: Secret Duo is my staple aesthetic treatment

One month after my most recent (4th) Secret Duo treatment, I see a significant improvement in skin firmness – the collagen boost is so obvious and I felt like I’ve shaved at least 5 years off my age.

I also see a reduction in pore size, such that “glowy” foundation that I used to dislike (as they highlighted my pores) is now usable.

To add, the skin also looked radiant – it’s as if a thick layer of dull, dead skin were lifted off to reveal “newly-born” skin.
