Write an title about: My holistic enclave in the heart of Jumeirah, Dubai – The Tezzy Files

My boho soul found a holistic sanctuary in the heart of Jumeirah, Dubai at newly rebranded Seva Experience.

Originally launched as Life’n One, Seva is Dubai’s very first exclusively plant-based cafe, yoga and meditation studio, wellness center and shop .

At the Seva Experience you can sign up for classes with the world’s leading therapists & international teachers like the lovely Siri Prakash from @cosmicthings (look up a few of her #KundaliniYoga gems, saved under my Seva Instagram Stories highlights!) .

Loved the vibes here, and I could easily spend entire afternoons lounging in their secret garden soaking in the expansive collection of holistic literature.

SEVA is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning “selfless service for the betterment of the community”. To me its more of a much-needed sanctuary in this crazy-busy urban jungle.

Write an title about: Asian Makeup and Skincare Blog: BENTON Cacao Moist and Mild Cream Review

by Lina Clémence June 3, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

rewrite this content and keep HTML tags as is:

When we think of cacao, we think of chocolate, right? However, did you know that cacao extract has moisturizing properties?

I was sent this Cacao Moist and Mild Cream from BENTON for review purposes, but I’m excited to try a cacao product that’s not greasy and heavy like typical cocoa butters.

Cacao, otherwise known as cocoa, is high in antioxidants and blocks harmful free radicals in the body. The exotic bean also contains omega 6 fatty acids which helps in cellular healing (hello, beautiful skin)!

Benton’s Story

“Benton is inspired by and named after the movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ in which Benjamin Button grows younger with time…It may just be a fictional movie, but wouldn’t most people have the same desire to be young again? Benton desires to restore your skin back to its original, healthy recipes, rather than to give temporary effects with harmful ingredients. Benton presents freshly made products by sticking to small batch production.”

Price: $16

Size: 50g

Shelf life: 6 months

Scent: None

Claims:

  • Lightweight texture
  • Suitable for summer
  • Moist finish
  • Water-oil balance
  • Mild formula

Ingredients:

Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Water,   Sorbitan Olivate,

1,2-Hexanediol,  Pentylene Glycol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract,  Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract,   Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate,   Polyglutamic Acid, Madecassoside, Beta-Glucan,  Carbomer, Arginine, Xanthan Gum

I noticed that the cream was very lightweight. It seemed to literally melt from my body heat into a watery essence which would be appropriate for summetime (not so much for colder seasons when skin gets drier).

As you can see, the cream gave my skin a dewy complexion (which is totally different from a greasy feeling and appearance).

Overall, this cream is extremely lightweight and appropriate for all skin types. As an eczema sufferer, I found that the cream did little for my flaky patches but did wonders on my face. Plus, the fact that the cream is made from natural ingredients and unscented is a huge plus for those with sensitive skin like me.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense Nourishing Fluid SPF 40 Review

2025 is certainly the year of the new superlight SPF skincare products, and I have really been enjoying this one. Here’s the lowdown on the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense Nourishing Fluid SPF 40.

What is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense Nourishing Fluid SPF 40?

What is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense?
What is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense?

A high protection daily moisturising fluid designed to defend, hydrate and smooth the skin:

  • Protects skin from pollution, blue light, and UVA/UVB rays
  • Formulated to not leave a white cast
  • Lightweight, barely-there texture
  • Designed to instantly sink in and set to work
  • Promises to leave skin feeling soft, plumped and comfortable
  • Can be used over makeup
  • Offers long-lasting hydration
  • Gives skin a radiant and supple look
  • Non-comedogenic, vegan formula
  • Gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive

Key Ingredients

Botanical Blend of rice and soybean oil – helps protect against the effects of blue light and pollution

Sugar beet extract – to strengthen skin’s moisture barrier

Antioxidants – to soothe and defend against pollution

How to use it

You need to shake this up well and apply 3 fingers of product to the face and neck. If this seems like a lot, apply it in stages. In sinks in really nicely so you shouldn’t have any issues.

You can also apply this over makeup, which I haven’t yet tried as I tend to like a mist for this. Read, Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Setting Mist Sunscreen SPF 50 Review for one of my fave mists.

For reapplication over makeup, Elizabeth Arden suggest using a sponge to lightly blot it on to the skin. However, I can’t see how you’d make sure you are applying the correct amount using this method, so I personally wouldn’t follow that advice.

My Review of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense

My review of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense?
My review of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense?

If you’re a fan of radiant, well-hydrated skin with reliable sun protection, you’re going to want to hear all about the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense Nourishing Fluid SPF 40. I’ve been giving it a little test and it’s a total delight. Think glow without grease, hydration without heaviness.

First Impressions: Lightweight, Glowy & Comfortable

From the first application, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Fluid feels like a hydrating emulsion product. It has a lovely lightweight texture, almost like a water-based lotion, that melts into the skin beautifully. No heavy residue, no stickiness, and certainly no white cast.

It feels immediately comforting and moisturising and if you’re someone who finds SPF formulas either too thick or too drying, this could be your perfect match.

The Glow Factor: Dewy but Not Greasy

What I love most about this is the finish. It gives the skin such a fresh, plump, hydrated look with a dewy glow, but importantly, it doesn’t make you look greasy. That’s a fine line and Elizabeth Arden has balanced it just right here.

It layers beautifully under makeup too. I’ve worn it under foundation and tinted moisturisers, and it doesn’t pill or slide.

Skin Benefits Beyond SPF

This isn’t just your average sunscreen. It’s packed with hydrating and nourishing ingredients that genuinely make your skin feel better throughout the day. Even after a few hours of wear, my skin still feels moisturised and not at all dry or tight, like some SPFs can leave you feeling by the afternoon.

Packaging: Chic, Minimal, and Convenient

The packaging is spot on. It is sleek, travel-friendly, and fuss-free. It comes in a compact tube with a secure cap, which makes it perfect for popping in your handbag or travel bag. And because it’s a fluid, it’s easy to control how much product you dispense.

SPF 40 vs SPF 50. What’s the Real Difference?

Now let’s talk SPF numbers, because I know a lot of us automatically reach for SPF 50 and wonder if 40 is “enough.”

Here’s the breakdown:

  • SPF 40 blocks about 97.5% of UVB rays.
  • SPF 50 blocks about 98% of UVB rays.

That’s only a 0.5% difference in UVB protection. For everyday urban exposure, SPF 40 is absolutely sufficient, especially when the formula is this good and when you’re reapplying as needed. It’s all about using enough product and reapplying consistently.

So yes, SPF 40 is a high level of protection and more than adequate for daily wear, particularly if you’re not spending hours in direct sun.

Final Thoughts: A Daily SPF That Feels Like Skincare

The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense Nourishing Fluid SPF 40 is an absolute pleasure to use. It’s one of those SPFs that you’ll want to apply, which is half the battle when it comes to consistent sun protection.

If you’re after something that feels like skincare, delivers real hydration, makes your skin glow, and still gives you high SPF protection, this could be a new daily favourite.

Where to buy it

The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour HydraPlay Daily Defense Nourishing Fluid SPF 40 is £32 for 50ml. It’s currently sold out on the EA site but available now via the links below:

Write an title about: The One Skincare Step You’re Probably Skipping—And Why It Matters –

by Lina Clémence June 3, 2025
written by Lina Clémence

rewrite this content and keep HTML tags as is:

You’ve double-cleansed, toned, moisturized, and layered on your serums like a skincare scholar. You’ve even gua sha’d at 7 a.m. before a coffee. But if oil cleansing isn’t part of your routine yet—you’re missing a transformative step that could change everything about your skin.

Yes, even if you have oily, acne-prone, or ultra-sensitive skin. Especially then.

What Is Oil Cleansing, Really?

Before you panic at the idea of rubbing oil on your face, let’s break the myth: oil cleansing doesn’t mean clogging your pores with coconut oil and hoping for the best.

The Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) uses non-comedogenic botanical oils—like jojoba, squalane, or grapeseed—to dissolve excess sebum, remove SPF and makeup, melt down pollution, and deeply detox pores. It’s chemistry, not magic: oil attracts oil, lifting away the gunk without stripping your skin barrier.

Why It Works for Every Skin Type

Here’s where the skincare gospel shifts. The oils used in oil cleansers are carefully chosen to balance—not suffocate—your skin.

  • Oily skin? Oil cleansing can actually reduce oil production by keeping your skin from overcompensating.
  • Dry or sensitive skin? Skip the tight, squeaky feeling from foam cleansers. Oil nourishes while it cleanses.
  • Acne-prone? Oil removes pore-blocking impurities without disrupting your microbiome. Many who suffer from breakouts report fewer flare-ups and smoother texture with consistent oil cleansing.
🌿 “Oil cleansing is now the cornerstone of my skincare routine,”
says beauty editor and facialist Anisa K. “It preps the skin better than
anything else, and my clients can see the difference almost immediately.”

Dermatologists agree: your skin barrier is everything, and most conventional cleansers damage it. Oil-based cleansing respects it.

How to Oil Cleanse the Right Way

  1. Start with dry hands and a dry face.
  2. Pump or scoop a quarter-sized amount of oil cleanser.
  3. Massage gently in circular motions for at least 60 seconds (this matters!).
  4. Emulsify with a bit of warm water if it’s a rinse-off formula.
  5. Wipe away with a damp, warm cloth or rinse thoroughly.

For a deeper clean, follow with a gentle second cleanser—especially if you’re removing makeup or SPF-heavy products. (Yes, that’s the famous double cleanse.)

The Real Glow-Up? Consistency.

In a world obsessed with 10-step routines, the best-kept skincare secret might be this quiet, effective ritual that protects your moisture barrier, prevents breakouts, and preps your skin to absorb all the good stuff that follows.

Still Not Convinced?

Here’s what you’re risking by skipping this step:

  • Chronically dehydrated skin, even if it feels oily
  • Incomplete makeup/SPF removal (which accelerates aging)
  • Inflammation caused by harsh surfactants or over-cleansing

And here’s what you gain:

  • Better texture
  • Healthier skin barrier
  • That “I just got a facial” kind of glow

Final Word: Skincare Isn’t About More Steps—It’s About the Right Ones.

Oil cleansing isn’t new. But it is underrated. In a beauty culture that sometimes confuses complexity with efficacy, this one simple switch could be your biggest game-changer.

Don’t let the word “oil” scare you. Let it save your skin. Now go ahead. Wash your face with oil—and watch the magic happen.
