THE RICH SHADE EVERY FALL WARDROBE NEEDS: CHOCOLATE BROWN
Happy Saturday! What a whirlwind of a week this has been for me. We got back from Montana on Monday and went straight into work mode. I don’t know what happened, but suddenly, I had a lot of jobs due all at one time. It was a bit stressful, but I am so grateful for them! Speaking of thankful, tomorrow is my birthday, and I am so grateful to be getting older. The number this year (let’s just say it’s my Medicare birthday) has me a little freaked out, but I am so happy to be here. I know it’s just a number, but for the love, I don’t know how it happened so fast! Does anyone else relate?
I am so excited for fall! One of my favorite fall colors is chocolate brown. I immediately think of dark 🍫 (the kind you eat), but that has nothing to do with fall clothes and accessories…I just love it! I digress! Chocolate brown is one of my favorite colors to wear. I think it looks good on everyone, because it flatters nearly every complexion. Chocolate brown is every bit as versatile as black, navy, or beige—but it feels warmer and richer. It instantly elevates an outfit without looking harsh, making it an elegant choice for anyone who wants polish without severity.
Brown is the perfect backdrop for autumn colors. It looks chic with camel and cream for a tonal look, pairs beautifully with jewel tones (emerald, sapphire, burgundy), and feels fresh when contrasted with unexpected brights like pink or turquoise. For those of us in warmer climates (like the South), chocolate brown bridges the gap between seasons. It works with lighter fabrics now (linen or cotton) and moves seamlessly into wool, leather, and suede later in the season. And, if you love the slimming qualities of black but want a softer option, brown is your best friend. It’s more forgiving, less stark, and still chic enough to anchor your wardrobe basics. Have I talked you into incorporating this color now?
I love this chocolate brown dress from Staud (I have no idea why they describe it as military green???) I bought it a few years back in a blue and white toile print, and I love this silhouette. Staud has done this silhouette (called the Wells) for the last couple of years, changing up the colors. I love the square neckline! It’s the perfect dress to wear now and into fall. Because it is still hot, I chose a metallic sandal and brought out this animal print bag.

All of this talk about chocolate brown has me craving my favorite dessert. If you live in Dallas and love chocolate, Lover’s Seafood has my all-time favorite chocolate dessert, the Campfire S’more Pie. It is like having a S’more but in pie form. It is so gooey and chocolatey, and I am obsessed with it! I honestly think it’s the best dessert in Dallas (if you love chocolate 🍫)! So with it being my birthday tomorrow, I think a piece of that pie is in order!
I hope you all have a great weekend! Be well and Stay safe! xx
